You guys got any character storage sites thats not toyhouse or unvale or characterhub or ai or story plotters or gacha life or dnd stats or google drive or amino or obsidian or notion or
#ideally rn i would be staring at tumblr through a website on a computer but im not#i just want a place to store my pictures with folders man. Thats not refsheet bc that one is basically desktop exclusive.#i really need to get another USB drive & a bigger storage sd card & an adapter but adapters are so tiny#Whatever. if i lose my pictures of them again ill just have to move on and create new ones. hashtag stoicism.#nillas#also obsidian & notion are included here even though i do use them bc they are nottt optimized for mobile especially notion#editing texts on notion is like moving a picture on Google docs#ALL OF MY PROBLEMS CAN BE SOLVED BY THROWING MY PHONE INTO A LAKE AND INVESTING IN A COMPUTER / LAPTOP....

My SilverLink cable is dead -- somehow either the firmware was lost or corrupted, and it's just showing up as a generic microcontroller to lsusb. Doesn't seem like there's a way to flash it, though I am still looking.
So much for going back to calculator programming tonight.
#maybe ill get a black link cable and a usb to serial adapter#that wouldnt be susceptible to this problem#though itd require more effort to bitbash#my thoughts#calculators#programming

I've been missing having an AUX jack to play music, so I spent the last couple of days researching USB C to 3.5mm adapters. I figured I'd share my findings for anyone else who might want an adapter but finds USB C confusing.
If you know your phone has an internal DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) connected to your USB C port, you can get away with a simple adapter sans DAC and save a few dollars.
If you don't have a built-in DAC and are driving standard headphones, the Apple adapter ($9) seems like a great deal for the price and is compatible with most devices. The exception is Android devices, which appear to lack the ability to configure the Apple adapters' DAC volume to be above 50% by default.
So, for Androids, I would suggest the Samsung adapter ($9), which has similar performance.
If you're driving fancier headphones with a high OHM rating, you'll want a beefier DAC, which is outside the scope of what I was looking for.
I ended up buying both the Samsung and the Apple adapters due to the mix of devices in my household. Waiting for them to arrive in the mail.
Based on reviews, there still seems to be some amount of chance involved when it comes to compatibility, but I think this info minimizes the chance of you needing to return something. I'm also skeptical of the durability of these devices, I sort of wish they had some chunkier leads.
Also, here are some reviews I found helpful: And they even have graphs!

#(i broke my last adapter)#the thing is these have to usb-c so they plug into my phone but theyre just awful plastic#one must imagine they have the same feel as airpods which makes me wonder why the hell theyre so popular#sighhh.#adapter would also mean i could just use my headphones#[insert cool original post tag]
