Switch 2's AC can be turned into a USBC to USBC cable. That's cool in concept but I have never in my life seen a USBC outlet in the uk, not even on my computers, so it's worthless to me.

havent been able to listen to music for days because i forgot my usbc cable at home and my headphones died and so i ordered a new usbc but realised it was going to the wrong address so i cancelled the order like immediately and re ordered to the right address and triple checked it was definitely the right address and then amazon just decided to send the usbc to the wrong address anyway so now my mum's gotta send this usbc across the country to me when this all could have just been an email

Why Do Some USB Ports Have Lightning Bolts? Here's What It Means
Over the course of the three decades that the USB connectivity standard has existed, there have been so many variations and revisions of USB that finding the right cable or charger was more confusing than it needed to be. Finding the appropriate cable for fast charging once that became common was tricky enough, to say nothing of the many peripheral-side connectors that we've had to deal with, like Mini USB, Micro USB, USB Type-B, and USB Type-C. (To say nothing of the many different color-coded revisions of the computer/host-side USB Type-A connector.)

Beats show Android in AD for USB-C cables [Video]
Earlier this week, Apple’s Beats brand announced a USB-C cable that it is advertising as “universally compatible” and, in a rare event, sees Android phone in the apple-manufactured advertisement. Beats starts with USB-C cables $ 18.99 from USB-C to USB-C, USB-C to USB-A, and USB-C with Lightning Cables, which offers “soft vach” build, fast charging support and some good colors with a signature…

Why Did the EU (and UK) Mandate USB-C?
The European Union introduced this law primarily for three reasons:
Reducing Electronic Waste (E-Waste) – By standardizing chargers, consumers wouldn’t need to buy a new charger for every device. This prevents millions of old chargers from ending up in landfills.
Consumer Convenience – A single charging standard means people don’t have to carry multiple cables and adapters for different devices.
Market Competition – Apple’s proprietary Lightning cable gave them control over accessories and forced consumers into their ecosystem. The law aims to break this kind of monopolistic control and allow more competition in the accessory market.
Positives of the Switch to USB-C
Universal Compatibility – iPhones now use the same cable as most Android phones, iPads, laptops, and other devices.
Faster Data Transfer and Charging – USB-C generally allows for higher power delivery and faster data speeds compared to Lightning.
Less E-Waste – Since USB-C is already widespread, fewer cables will be discarded.
More Accessory Choices – Third-party manufacturers no longer have to rely on Apple’s expensive MFi (Made for iPhone) licensing to make compatible cables.
Negatives of the Switch to USB-C
Short-Term Consumer Cost – People with existing Lightning accessories (chargers, docks, headphones) now have to replace them or buy adapters.
Potential for Confusion – Not all USB-C cables are equal. Some support fast charging and data transfer, while others do not, leading to possible frustration.
Loss of Apple’s Ecosystem Control – While good for consumers, this could mean fewer Apple-certified accessories with guaranteed quality.
Resistance to Government Regulation – Some tech companies, including Apple, argue that governments forcing a standard could slow innovation.
Apple’s Response
Apple was resistant to this change but ultimately complied, starting with the iPhone 15 lineup in 2023. They argued that forcing a universal standard could stifle innovation, but in reality, USB-C is already widely adopted.

“i can’t wait for usbc to be everywhere so u only need one cable” and “everything should have multiple ports” not mutually exclusive !!!!
imagine. you connect a usb-c between ur screen and ur device and it handles video out, audio out, and even gives ur device a bit of power. but gadzooks! the port breaks, or you don’t have a wire, or you’re trying to connect to a weird device! that’s why they’re still an hdmi port, or usb-a, or sd slot, and headphone jacks. options. redundancy. utility. and multipurpose C is part of that, not counter to it. it’s not a replacement. it’s additional convenience, not meaningless faux-evolutionary change for change’s sake

We got an actual graphic tablet! It's awesome! Also, nobody told me it takes long to set up, and that it needs to be connected both to the USB and to the display port, and to power. Three separate things. Took me a while to figure out. (Yes it has a manual, no i didn't read it carefully) Anyway, testing it with a fanon-typical Sauron and other random stuff, I'll probably post some art soon when I get more used to this thing. Also I need to go buy a usbc to usbc cable to make it work with the phone.
Any beginner tips, or other things I'm probably missing, appreciated.
