Tumblr media
Shoot weeks were always stressful. They resulted in 12 hour days, sometimes you had multiple shoots back to back and you didn’t get a break. A lot of the time, you’d scarf down Uber Eats at your desk while looking over two different scripts, four emails and the shoot schedule and realising that you’re probably not going to get a whole lot of sleep that night.
Your boyfriend was in the same boat, though. Not only was he often on camera, he was also directing all of the smosh games productions. A lot of the time while you were devouring a subway over your desk, Spencer was right there beside you, the two of you chatting idly about whether or not either of you thought that you would have the time or the energy to see each other outside of work that week.
The two of you had been dating privately for a little over a year, everyone at the office knew but you hadn’t announced anything publicly yet. Neither of you had any interest in it, to be perfectly honest. Your audience knew the two of you were close, you’d occasionally post photos of the two of you out at dinner together or at the movies or something, plus you’d run into fans quite a few times. But also, Spencer hung out in public more with Alex than he did with you, so people didn’t tend to take it to a romantic place.
During lunch on the Thursday of a shoot week would usually involve the two of you sitting tiredly in the open office area, your head on his shoulder while he showed you a video of something. You relished any opportunity to spend time together during shoot weeks, because you both really would just leave work, pass out and then go back to work.
This particular Thursday, though, you were alone at your table. Not alone, Shayne and Angela were there, the three of you engaged in random chatter. People filed in and out, working crew trying to eat quickly so they could get back to their spot on set and prepare for the next shoot, crew that wasn’t working sets that day still having a lot to get done behind the scenes. A few people had come and left your table but none of them touched the seat beside yours, knowing that Spencer would inevitably arrive and want to sit beside you.
He wasn’t coming, though, and you knew that.
You and Spencer both really valued communication, and you were normally really good at it. But with how exhausted you both were, neither of you had the energy to have an argument lately. You’d gone two full days without speaking unless completely necessary. Your last text from him had been from the morning earlier; We need two, not one. It had been about batteries, you’d been sent on a run to the supply closet for an extra one.
You hadn’t even been aware of how it started. One night he’d been kissing your temple in the parking lot, preparing to go back to his apartment while you went back to yours and the next morning you barely spoke.
You couldn’t even corner him about it at work. You’d tried to approach him in the kitchen, assuming he’d just been too busy to text you or stop by your desk like he usually did in the mornings. “You okay?” You’d asked him gently, hand on his arm gently.
He’d given you a pinched smile, “Yeah, babe.” He turned back to the fridge, shutting it stiffly. “I gotta go, call time’s in ten and I need to talk to Alex about the Games video we shot last night.”
You’d stood there in the office kitchen as he walked away. He didn’t approach you the rest of the day, but you had been on the same set for a few hours.
No text that night, no kiss in the parking lot as you parted ways, not even a dumb tweet he thought you’d like. Hell, he hadn’t even messaged you on Slack.
Shayne watched you eat with his eyebrows raised. “You okay? You’ve been quiet all morning.”
You looked up to see both Shayne and Angela looking at you. You hadn’t even realised the conversation had dropped off. “Oh, uh.” You shook your head, more at yourself than at them. “Yeah, it’s fine. Just one of those weeks, y’know.”
“It’s almost over,” Angela rubbed your arm sympathetically. “Just today and tomorrow and then it’s the weekend. Do you have much on this afternoon?”
You had to pull out your phone to check your schedule. You had two more shoots for the day but they were spread out so you were still gonna be at work for quite a while. Maybe you could take a nap in the green room between shows. “Yeah, I’m doing You Posted That? and then we’re playing whatever game or something tonight.” You rubbed your eyes.
“Hey, tomorrow you only have TNTL and then reddit,” Shayne said encouragingly. “Early afternoon. Go home and get some rest, you look rough, dude.” It was all said with love, so you just grimaced up at him.
“Okay, can I tell you guys something in confidence?”
Both of them immediately nodded, abandoning their forks.
“I think Spencer’s avoiding me,” you admitted softly.
Shayne and Angela were probably two of your closest working friends. The three of you often sat in the back of groups and giggled together like you were ten. When you’d first started working at Smosh, you’d been somewhat awkward around your castmates when you weren’t filming. You guys made each other laugh but you weren’t sure whether or not they actually liked you or if they just laughed along with you on camera to avoid awkwardness. That hadn’t lasted long, though, and now you felt like you could actually have serious conversations with people.
“I was wondering why he wasn’t here,” Angela admitted. “Usually I can never get you alone at lunch, I have so many TikToks I wanna show you.”
You shrugged. “He’s been weird for a couple of days now, like, look at this.” You pulled out your phone and showed them your text history or now lack thereof. Shayne saw the one message from the past three days and his eyebrows raised higher.
“And you’ve tried talking to him about it?”
You nodded, locking your phone and putting it on the table. “He basically ran out of the kitchen when I asked him if everything was okay. By the time I was done for the day he was already at home, he usually stops by my desk if he’s leaving earlier than I am. I wasn’t in a shoot or anything.”
Angela slackened, leaning against her elbows on the desk and looking up at you with a frown on her face. “That’s definitely weird, yeah. Yeah, no, that’s weird. You guys didn’t argue about anything or anything?”
You shook your head, fidgeting with your nails. “Monday everything was normal, now I’m here.”
Your phone buzzed with your alarm that you’d set, you had fifteen minutes until your call time for the next shoot. You’d mostly finished eating but you picked up your fork again and poked at the remaining food on your plate. “And like, I don’t know. I’m not spiralling, like I know that he loves me and everything and I don’t think we’re on the brink of breaking up or anything, I just have no idea what’s going on.”
Angela reached over and squeezed your wrist. “Anything I can do? I won’t do anything unless you tell me too, obviously, but I can talk to him about it if you want?”
You let out a puff of air and shook your head. “No, but thank you for the offer.” You stood, taking your little container of food to drop it back off at your desk before you went to set. “I’ll see you guys later? Thank you for letting me talk.”
“Of course, babe.”
“Yeah,” Shayne said genuinely. “Let either of us know if we can help?”
You moved through the next few hours as best you could, putting on your most entertaining face for the camera. You didn’t win the game but you also hadn’t embarrassed yourself a supreme amount, so you took it as a win. By the time you had to be on set for your final shoot of the game, you’d had a coffee and you were ready to head home. You didn’t let being tired stop you, you were still bright and smiley, the way the audience was used to seeing you.
You definitely regretted not reading the call sheet beyond your own call time, though, because Spencer was sitting at the table on his phone.
You didn’t know whether you were allowed to sit beside him. You wanted to, and you were sure that he wouldn’t get angry with you, but would it make the experience awkward?
You pretended to go back to your desk for something, hoping that at least one other person would be at the table before you had to sit down. This was why you never showed up anywhere early.
By the time you got back, your prayers had been answered and Courtney and Shayne had taken the two seats on either side of him. You slid on the other end of the table, across from Shayne, who smiled encouragingly at you.
“Hi!” You hadn’t seen Courtney all day and she smiled widely at you. “I tried that recipe you sent me last night and I think I’ve decided that I want to marry you.”
“Aw man,” Shane put a hand on his forehead, shaking his head as he glared at the table. “Didn’t even get a year in, I owe Damien twenty bucks.”
“Oh my god, wait, we’re kinda on a cute little double date right now,” Courtney giggled. “Look at us go.”
Courtney hadn’t been present at the table during lunch, but they could definitely tell that something was going on between you and Spencer, if only from the fact that he hadn’t already leaned behind her to tell you a joke that only you would find funny.
She waited until Spencer and Shayne got up to be mic’d to turn to you, voice hushed. “You okay?”
You rehashed the story as quickly and quietly as you could and she frowned. “I was wondering why he came and ate at my desk but I just assumed you were busy or something. That’s weird. It’s not gonna make the video weird is it?”
“No,” you assured them. “We’re adults, and as far as I know, we’re still together,” you’d said the last part jokingly. You were adults, you wouldn’t have broken up over something like this, not without a lot of discussion first, but you still had no idea why he was basically giving you the silent treatment.
“Alright, guys,” Alex called out and Spencer slid back into his chair. He shot you a smile and you returned it while Alex outlined who was giving the intro, how many points you needed to win, etc, things that you didn’t necessarily think about until you were doing them on camera. “And we’re rolling in three…”
Shayne started talking to the camera and you fidgeted under the desk. You really enjoyed filming for Smosh Games, it was probably your favourite channel to film for. But also, it was hard to enjoy a board game when you were on four different cameras. You’d have to talk to Kortney to make sure you didn’t look completely tired and bummed out the entire time in the final cut.
You managed to get through the first few rounds okay, making the group laugh a few times and getting a few moments that would make the video. It had started when someone made a dumb joke, some sort of thing about a really sophisticated cat or something, and Spencer had bounced off it. “Yeah, my neighbour across the hall is like, moving in with their partner or something, and I ran into them in the hallway a couple of days ago and offered to help with a box they were kinda struggling with and the box was just labeled ‘Lemons,’” The whole table giggled at that, trying to figure out where he was going with it. “And I was like… “Okay, this person has a thing for lemons I guess?” but then I go into their apartment and I find out that they apparently both had cats, right? And so my neighbour had a cat and now their partner’s cat is also moving in. Apparently both of the cats are called Lemons!”
That really got Courtney, their head getting thrown back as she laughed. “No way!”
“They’re soulmates, dude,” Shayne nodded.
Spencer looked over at you, path completely clear now that Courtney had scooted her chair back. You knew the one of Spencer’s neighbours that he was referring to, he’d told you the story as the two of you walked to your cars the afternoon after it happened.
“Would that be something that you were interested in?” He’d asked after a second, taking out his keys with the hand that wasn’t holding yours.
You liked cats, but your apartment didn’t allow them, and you also didn’t know if you really had the energy or the time to deal with a pet right now. You shook your head. “Not really, I’m fine solo over there,” you’d said.
Spencer had nodded and kissed your temple, right beside your eye on the side of your face. “I’ll see you tomorrow,” he’d said in a low voice.
Spencer, at the games table, seemed to watch you have the realisation in real time. Your eyes had drifted back to the table in thought for a second and they came back up to lock with his. You looked a lot more resolute than you had before, and he was a little bit nervous.
He hadn’t been ignoring you to be immature, it had been honestly wanting to back off so as to not make you uncomfortable. He’d tried to take a step and you hadn’t wanted to, and he respected that. But he also didn’t know if what he had previously been doing was also what you wanted, so he was trying to just get to the weekend when he knew you’d be feeling better enough to maybe have a full conversation about where the two of you were at. You’d celebrated your one year anniversary two months earlier, he saw a future with you. He’d been confident that you felt the same way, you showed him consistently, but now he was worried he’d overstepped in ways he hadn’t realised. He’d thought you’d have said yes, maybe he was wrong about other things as well.
Your eyes were soft as they met his, flicking away to listen to Shayne talk. You weren’t having this conversation in the middle of the shoot. He turned to listen as well, but the two of you had both relaxed in the shoulders slightly, hoping that maybe by the end of the night you’d be on the same page.
The shoot wrapped up pretty quick with Courtney sweeping the game. You were the one to run through the ending spiel, like, subscribe, all that stuff. Once Alex finally called cut, Spencer was quick to lean over and murmur. “I gotta talk to Alex really quick about some stuff, I’ll be ten minutes max.”
You nodded at him and he practically ran to Alex, opening up his bag and pulling out a folder of something probably important. Shayne and Courtney watched the interaction. “Guess he’s not avoiding you anymore?”
“I realised what happened literally in the middle of filming,” you sighed, rubbing your face. “Oh my god, I’m so stupid.” You had to laugh, it was silly.
“He asked me to move in with him earlier this week. I said no because I thought he was asking if I wanted to get a cat.”
Both Shayne and Courtney also had to laugh. “No, that’s so dumb, I’m sorry,” Courtney put her forehead on your shoulder as a sign of support for a second before lifting it up. “At least it’s something you can fix easily.”
“Yeah,” Shayne nudged you. “You’ll be fine. You got this,”
You nodded, more just relieved that you’d figured out the problem so you could solve it. You knew Spencer hadn’t intentionally kept it from you, he’d thought you’d known this whole time. Spencer still didn’t know that you were unaware of your rejection, he’d just seen the love-filled look you’d given him and assumed that meant you still wanted to see him.
Shayne and Courtney packed their stuff up and headed off, not without both giving you an equally cheesy thumbs-up as they walked through the door. Spencer and Alex were both still nodding seriously at whatever piece of paper they were looking at, but they both smiled at you as you left to go back towards your desk.
You grabbed all your stuff and then stood outside the pod for a little while, dragging the toe of your shoes across the concrete flooring as you waited for your boyfriend. “Hi,” his voice was quiet but not awkward as he approached you from behind.
You didn’t wait, you wrapped your arms around his neck and he hugged you back with no hesitation. “I love you,” you mumbled into his neck.
“I love you too,” he replied immediately. “You okay?”
You nodded, pulling back just enough that he could see your face. “Yes, just stupid, I think.”
He laughed, ducking his head. “Yeah you are pretty dumb, aren’t you?” You pushed him off you and he took your hand, the two of you heading outside to your cars. “What specifically led you to this discovery?”
You squeezed his hand and stopped walking, pulling him off to the side so you weren’t standing in the middle of the road, coming to a stop in front of his car. “I thought you were asking if I wanted a cat.” You explained. “Last weekend, you asked ‘do you want to do that?’ and I thought you were talking about me getting a cat.”
He just smiled, still looking slightly confused. You squeezed his hand again and it hit him that time. “Oh! No, no, that’s not… no, I wasn’t asking if you wanted a cat.”
You nodded as if that was obvious. “No, I know that now.”
“No, that’s on me I asked it super vaguely,” he reasoned, swinging your joined arms slightly. “I thought you were saying no and I wanted to make sure I wasn’t like, smothering you or whatever. I didn’t want you to think that you not wanting to move in with me was going to make me super clingy or something.”
“Not at all,” you replied honestly. “In fact, you’re gonna have a hard time getting rid of me. If we’re living together I’m gonna be all over you like grease on those weird pans you have. We’re throwing them out by the way, I refuse to cook with those things.”
He laughed loudly, it almost echoing around the small parking lot. “They might not be non-stick but at least I don’t burn my hand on them every week like I do with yours.” His eyes were filled with a comfortable happiness behind his glasses as your hands still swung. “Wait,” he stopped you. “Does this mean you want to move in with me?”
You didn’t even bother teasing him that time. “I would love to,” you said honestly. “But seriously, you can keep the pans. I won't make you get rid of them, but I can not use them.”
He groaned, looking at the ground as his eyebrows furrowed. “You’re the worst girlfriend ever.”
“I have a perfectly good apartment, you know.”
“No, you already agreed,” he pulled you in and pressed his lips to yours for the first time in what had literally been days. “You’re moving in with me and my weird pans.” You didn’t even bother replying to that, instead kissing him again slowly. He let you. You were overdue for one anyway.

Well, she's never been one to shy away from something she wants. And Maya wants you and only you. Can you still make the movie for The Studio? Why can't Maya just leave you alone?

(Want to read more Maya fics? Here's: My Masterlist) This is gonna be another long story. Let's fucking goooo!
It all started on a random Tuesday in a coked-up, crazy backlot of Hollywood. A place where no love story really begins.
Maya saw you the first time with actors and actresses swarming around you. You had just won another award. She eyed you in your group of bigwigs. You had more known actresses acting gay for you than a stupid bachelorette party in Vegas.
You smiled as Julia Roberts gave you her signature laugh. But Maya saw it, as everyone was distracted, your face fell. And then you pasted it back on quickly as Chris Evans refilled your champagne and told you another bad joke.
But from that moment on, something about you just stuck with Maya. At frist she’d tried to find a look a like, fuck some nobody and get it out of her system. But as your look alike was kissing Maya’s neck, Maya whispered your name. Said poor girl freaked out and Maya looked into her dates eyes and didn’t see you, and she ended the date then and there. Paying for the girls Uber. And going home alone.
That was a few months ago, and Maya had set up her Google alerts to any news on you. New movie rumors, sure, but dates you go out on, sightings of you on vacation, anything she could find really.
When Matt excitedly told Maya and the team that he’d bought one of your new scripts, everyone was excited, and Maya froze on the spot.
Patty was the first to notice this.
“Maya, aren’t you excited we got the Ravishing Rom-Com Lady herself!” Patty said only seeing another Golden Globe in her future. Maya quickly plastered a look on her face for the team.
“Of fucking course! We’re gonna make so much fucking money with this girl! When is she coming in?” The last part didn’t hold the same excitement.
“Uh, tomorrow I set up the meeting.” Matt said and Sal jumped up and down in excitement.
“Dude when she wrote ‘Days of Delight’ with fucking Matthew McConaughey and Kate Hudson! Fuck that’s their best movie!” He squealed like a little girl.
“How to lose a guy in ten days was good, but Days of Delight is fucking quoteable and it grossed twice as much!” Matt pointed out and the two of them quotes the movie to each other over and over.
Maya didn’t stay, she grabbed her ipad and Stanely cup and went to figure out how she was going to score a date with the rom com queen.
When you came in, Maya surveyed your outfit and was so impressed she felt outdone. But she stared at your ass as you shook everyones hand.
When Maya reached her hand out you look down at it and then turned to Patty and started to talk. Everyone noticed, how could they not, you snubbed Maya Mason.
“Patty I read your email, I’m almost done with the script. I enjoyed your notes, I think the side plot of the best friend is wonderful to change. But I was hoping we could cast Kathryn Hahn as a lead, not the friend in this film.” You told Patty and they all sat, and Maya cut in front of Quinn to sit next to you.
You don’t look at Maya.
“But she’s kinda a girl next door look no?” Matt tries and you disagree with him immediately.
“I know you are used to having her in comedy roles in your Studio, but she’s very dynamic. I know she can show the turmoil of this broken, raw,  feeling I need for this role. So she’s my first choice. And I do have her number, she said she would be interested in reading it. I just wanted to make sure we gave her first looks.” You explain and Sal is scribbling notes which everyone thinks is ridiculous.
They all talk for about twenty minutes about how much they love the script and the yearning core you are going for. Maya’s eyes never leave you. Just as you are standning up Maya cuts in and finally asks;
“Kathryn Hahn is very in right now with lesbians, but what about your leading man?” Maya asks and you ignore her and turn to look over her at Quinn.
“Can you email me the timeline on advertising.” You say and all eyes look to Maya who is pissed and so turned on.
But you walk out after shaking Matt’s and Patty’s hand and then turn on your leather boot heel  and walk out. Maya leaves her stuff and runs after you. She hears Sal saying ‘damn burn’ and she yells loud enough for the entire floor to hear her, turning over her shoulder to call his ‘dick floppy and his wrinkly scrotum matches that of E.T.
People laugh but she doesn’t care, she’s almost sprinting to catch you.
“Hey! WAIT!”
You don’t turn to her and so she walks in front of you and blocks your path.
“What did I do to deserve all of that sweetheart?” She says and your face turns even colder at the nickname.
“Ms. Mason-” You start as if you are already exhausted from having to speak to her. Maya is floored at how much of a dislike you have for her.
“Maya, It’s Maya, please come on. I’m head of marketing on your movie. You can’t even look at me?” The older hollywood head says to you.
“Ms. Mason, your reputation is…” You trail off and Maya has the nerve to look proud of her reputation. Though your face doesn’t mirror the pride she seems to feel for what people say about her. The fear she evokes.
“So you hold whatever that was against me?” Maya finishes the thought for you.
“No, actually it’s just….” You are working so hard to be civil and Maya doesn’t like all this stupid pussyfooting around. So when she tilts her head to the side and decides to lay on the rizz.
“So are you jealous baby? You don’t wanna have a good time too?” She says and your bullshit attempt at staying aloof but professional goes out the window. And fuck does your anger turn Maya on.
You chuckle like a villain in a movie. Before saying what you really think. Maya would have paid good money for this kind of humiliation.
“I’ve met so many of you, you know that right? That you aren’t anything new. I respect your job, I respect your studio. Which is why I’ll sell you the rights to my movie. But Maya Mason, make no mistake. I see you. You wear more labels than a NASCAR driver. You say the most ‘lit’ terms and you have your hand on the pulse of social media. You probably know when Angelina Jolie’s sex tape drops before Brad Pitt. But here’s the thing, I don’t like you. You like cheap stimulation, you reak of one night stands, and reused pick-up lines. We have nothing in common. You are everything that’s wrong with this industry..and honestly this town.” You say and you feel such relief in not having to play nice in the sandbox. You expect Maya to retaliate or say her studio won’t make your movie anymore.
You don’t expect her to laugh and Maya to look giddy at you.
“Damn, my mother should take notes from you. I think my past therapist took six months to gently tell me a word of what you just said in five seconds. Fuck you are something else Miss RomCom, let me buy you a cup of coffee? Or there’s this great bistro?” Maya flirts and your eyebrow twitches. Before you sneer realizing what this is.
“Mason don’t do this.” You say like she’s being stupid.
“What! You might actually find the conversation stimulating! I could surprise you. What with my original pick up lines. Come on baby?” Maya says and you pull your phone out to see a text.
“I don’t have time for this.” You say like you are telling a toddler you can’t possibly play Barbies right now.
Maya makes a mental note that she’s never felt more alive. Fuck gentle banter at a bar, you had her veins lighting up more than any drug she’d ever taken.
“For coffee? Or lunch?” Maya says like it’s innocent.
But you put your phone down and glare again. You feed her another round of insults.
“For your games. I’m not here for this. Please do me a favor, don’t take this as me challenging you. It’s so toxic, just like whatever you are probably thinking right now. Marketing head Mason, you are so predictable. We aren’t kids on a playground. You want me because I’m not interested and that’s gross. Listen, I could tell you a bunch of cliche shit. You aren’t my type, I’m not looking for what you are right now. Whatever you want to hear. But the truth of it is, I’m not interested. And you are so not used to being turned down by a girl…that you think that means you should push harder is just so…predictable. Just leave me alone, go fuck a model or an assistant or some new actress. Someone who’s never heard of Virginia Woolf or Margaret Atwood, who thinks classic music is Harry Styles. Ok? Call me a snob to your buddies, and do a line in the bathroom like everyone else.”
You say and Maya just smirks. Her voice drops an octave and she stepps forward and you try not to let the power play show that you are actually having fun now.
“You think you got me all figured out sweetie?”
You don’t let this nickname thing keep going, it’s so worn out. You practically make the same face Anne Hathaway does leaving the gross hotel suite in Paris in Devil Wears Prada. ‘I’m not your Baby.’ The line plays in your mind and you channel that energy as you say it to Maya.
“I’m not your sweetie Mason. I’m just another writer in this town. I’m nobody to you, ok? Sell my movie, that’s great. I’m grateful for all you are going to do. I’m sure you will do a wonderful job. But I don’t want your coffee or cheap tricks in bed. I’m sure you’ll be one of those pillow princesses, anyway. If I wanted cheap sex and to be left unsatisfied I’d go to any bar in town and pick up a vapid straight man. I don’t have time to draw you a map to my clit and teach you what clockwise means. You seem like a boring lay.” You say and you feel, like Maya, the most alive you had in a long time.
This was so much better than pretending to laugh at an actors shitty joke while wearing a designer dress you can’t breathe in, at a party you never wanted to go to. This was practically therapeutic.
You tried to push down the thought that this would come back to haunt you later.
Because Maya stepped forward again and you were sure she was just as turned on as you.
“Wanna bet?” Maya says and she get’s a little closer to your ear to whisper it, her breath teases your skin. But you don’t take the bait and move away. You keep your expression unfazed.
“I don’t have the time to waste. I am looking for someone who has read a book, can hold an adult conversation. Not a vain girl who’s main news outlet is Twitter, or X or whatever it is this week. I want someone with an IQ over the legal drinking age, not to sit with you as you scroll through Tik Tok. I’m so not your type Mason. Thank you for the meeting. I’ll try to be kinder now that we both understand each other.” You put your gentle face back on, the one you’d practiced. Maya for the first time looks upset, not liking you putting your claws away.
You think of that Taylor Switft song and you want to tell Maya why you can’t be yourself any more. You have to put it all away.; I was tame, I was gentle 'til the circus life made me mean."Don't you worry, folks, we took out all her teeth"
Maya seems to read you and she also puts on a facade.
You put your hand out, it’s meant as a sort of truce. You both got to play, and now you both had to pretend again. You could pretend all day, but Maya was a master at manipulation. She knew this game you were playing and wouldn’t be fooled.
So Maya takes your soft scarred hand and then leans down and kisses it, her lips are so soft. The lipstick no longer sticky on her lips, she smells of expensive perfume and money. And you almost close your eyes to enjoy the feeling, but you won’t allow it. You let her touch you, because you don’t have the strength to deny her that. But as she stands back up you slap another glare at her.
Maya only seems amused at your attempt, and you wonder if you are losing your touch.
“I hope you aren’t kinder, what a waste fake pleasantries are. You busy tomorrow night?” Maya releases your hand and smiles and you scoff at her and turn around. So she calls out behind you.
“How about Friday?” She yells and you walk to your car.
Quinn comes from around the corner.
“Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone tell you…no. That was kinda pathetic. She really told you off.” Maya didn’t say a word to Quinn though, in her head she was already planning your wedding together.
She mumbles as she can no longer see you, ‘What a woman.’
_______
That’s how it was for a month. Maya sent you flowers, chocolates, weed care baskets, she sent you invites to parties and endless expensive gifts. In turn you gave no indication to any of her advances. You returned the expensive gifts, and Maya had heard it from someone on the lot that you tossed every flower out.
But Maya wouldn’t be easily ignored.
You worked through Quinn when you needed to tell Maya something. Maya threatened Quinn one day with a letter opener for your phone number, but she swore she didn’t have it. That you came in person to talk to her. She was shaking like a leaf when Maya rolled her eyes and stabbed the letter opener into her wood desk and walked out.
The whole lot figured out quickly the tension and Maya was like ‘Pavlov’s Dog’ she was so hungry for you. She stopped dating, she stopped social media scrolling, it did feel like….cheap stimulation. Just like you had said.
That weekend Maya got a new google alert about you.
She instantly wished she hadn’t looked.
Because this was the first time she’ seen you out on a date.
The picture made her skin crawl in jealousy.
It had you on a date…with the stunning and funny Aubrey Plaza.
Maya felt nauseous, ready to throw up her Hailey Beiber 20 dollar strawberry smoothie. But Maya read the whole article. And then she saw Aubrey had taken you to a famous bookstore in L.A. Maya screenshotted every photo…you laughing as Aubrey touched your cheek gently. And after she zoomed in on your face, Maya moved down to see the book you had bought.
She threw the phone onto her sofa and wondered if she needed to smash all her crystal wear in the L.A mansion.
Maya sat on her sofa and bit her acrylic nail in anger. Before rolling her eyes and getting into her expensive Benz. Driving an hour and a half to the stupid book store across town. She walked up to the pimply teenager and asked for the book.
“Do you have Gone with The Wind?” She growled and he gulped obviously intimated by her screaming at him. But ne nodded and ran across the store to get it.
That’s how it started. Your little book club together. Not that you knew what Maya was doing. But Maya liked to imagine you were trying to communicate via all these books.
She read; Mrs. Dalloway, Their Eyes Were Watching God, A Raisin in The Sun, Camilla, Giovani’s Room, Carol, and so many more.
Maya kept sending you expensive sentiment, understanding that you couldn’t be bought. But unsure of how else to get to you.. and you in turn.. kept ignoring her.
For a whole month you worked on the filmset, but Maya steered clear of you on the lot.  She knew she needed to hatch a better plan. This wasn’t the way to your heart.
Yet every weekend Maya would lose her mind all over again.
You were photographed with Aubrey Plaza the most you two seemed to love going to record stores, bunch places, and book stores. Frequenting even once a sex toy store. It was enough that it made Maya throw a retro Versace vase across her foye. It shattered into a million pieces and Maya still felt like she wanted blood.
But it wasn’t just Aubrey, you were photographed with; Sandra Bullock, Marisa Tomei, and Anne Hathaway. It was ridiculous.
All brunette, all powerful and strong women, all 40 and over. You liked women older than you… Woman who held power and intellect.
Maya felt like you were taunting her. But you always had a book in your hand as you went on lunch outings and late night drinks.
Paparazzi followed you like dirty hound dogs sniffing a scent. They called you ridiculous names ‘ Little Lady Ephron,’ Shakespeare Secret Harlot, Bridgett Jones’s Slutty Muse, Lesbian Bradshaw, Gary Marshall’s Concubine.’  And Maya ate up every article they made.
Maya needed to know more about you.
Everytime a new story released she’d buy the book you had in your hand in the photo. She’d read it in a day, unable to put them down.. and then one slow night she went into her theater room. No new TMZ story about you this weekend, no new book, so she’d been bored.
And Tik Tok felt like it no longer held Maya’s attention.
Opening the Instagram app she looked your name up and found no account, of course. Sighing she threw the phone down and picked up the remote.
Maya couldn’t even remember the decision, but she rented every singel movie you’d ever made. She watched them all over the course of a  week. Maya was ashamed to say she cried and laughed and felt like she’d been on a rollercoaster. But every film she watched, Maya found herself even more in love with you. Not just your beauty in those TMZ photos, not your great choice in books.
But the way your mind told a story.
The way you wrote about humanity and two people finding solace in one another.
‘The Queen of Yearning’ now that made sense for you, that’s what your fans said. And Maya found that she hung on every word you wrote for your films.
So two months in Maya was about to call the florist to do your daily flowers to be sent to your side of the lot.. when she hung up. Instead opening her laptop in her office she decided on a different present.
Maya felt like after watching all of your movies, and reading your weekly book recommendations…Maybe it was time to send you one of her favorite books.
So when Maya left that night she opened her designer bag to get her keys she really wasn’t expecting you to yell at her.
“MASON!”
She jumped and turned around.
You were holding the book up, like this was Hamilton and it was the Reynolds Pamphlet. It was dramatic to say the least and Maya realized how much she missed you.
Maya was famous for being big and dramatic, it was fun to see you do it too. Even though Maya was clear you didn’t like that fact about yourself.
“The fuck is this?” You say and you walk across the lot, your black boots clicking on hot L.A cement. Maya had to admit, the whole of Hollywood thought you were this big mush. Timid and romantic obsessed, completely without bite. You wrote all these big love declaration scenes. And yet to Maya you were like a fucking rotwiller. She’d never met anyone with more layers, it was intoxicating.
You stalked forward and pushed the novel against her chest. Maya grabbed it and flipped it over, already knowing what she’d done.
“Well, it’s a book Austen.” Maya hadn’t called you baby or sweetie this time. Remembering the look she’d received last time.
“What did you call me?” You glare raising your voice at her like she’s mocking you now. A few people on the lot turn to stare.
Maya could care less, she’d not gotten to talk to you in two months.
“Oh yeah, you got a new nickname. You are the new Jane Austen. Pretty big praise, you do that yearning thing like Pride and Prejudice. Which is a little wrong, since you don’t do time pieces. Not much for the sandals and horses as Rebecca Ferguson calls it. But the marketing team heard it from TMZ. So it caught on.” Maya says and she’s not answering your question.
“So you gave me another shitty nickname? Thanks I guess?” You shake your head and Maya eyes you curiously. Something seemed off about this exchange, not that she had many to go off of. But you seemed more frantic then the first verbal game of chess you two had played. Maya made a calculated move to not scare you away. She lowered her voice and didn’t push as hard back as she’d wanted to.
“You refuse to call me Maya, so I guess we both get nicknames.” She says it with no real challenge in her voice and you can’t figure her out as you stare at her. Maya keeps holding the green novel. You point at it.
“The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, why did you send me this book?” You ask.
“I figured you’d read all the old classics. I thought…you might like that..It’s my favorite well one of my favorites. I like the long yearning in it.. like your movies. But there’s something beautiful about loving someone and just…Being so..devoted? I mean there’s also that toxic hollywood shit we deal with on a day in day out, which is written well in this.” Maya says and you look at her like she’s grown another head.
This wasn’t Maya Mason. Maya threw shit at assistants, she did coke off of Miley Cyrus once. Maya was feirce and gorgeous yes, but no one had ever seen her read a romantic anything..You were so confused and then the reminder that this was all fake hit you.
“What is this, some game to you? You couldn’t get into my pants with the flowers so you what?”
“Holy shit Austen is it your favorite book too?” Maya was not stupid, and you had to admit that. Even if it hurt you. You tried to shield your emotions from her.
You’d been trying to get the rights to the book so you could screen play it and make it into a fucking movie for the past four years.
But you couldn’t say that.
You looked at Maya Mason for a second, fuck she was gorgeous.
You had to fake it with so many people in Hollywood. You didn’t ever fake your disgust with Maya, and that was kinda nice. But you wouldn’t do this with her. So you bit your bottom lip and made up your mind. You point at her putting your walls up high.
“Mason, leave me alone. I’m not another notch in your belt, or something for you to brag to Sal and Quinn about. You don’t get to fuck me up on drugs and then fuck me in front of your shitty friends or some shit. I’m not a toy! Ok, you don’t-” You say and Maya looks genuinely concerned that you thought of that. Wondering if that happened to you. And you can’t stand her concern.
Let her be Maya again, let her say the crude thing. Let her throw her power around, don’t have her look at you like you matter. That is too much to take.
“Hey, woah. I’m not trying to do that. I just want you to let me buy you dinner. You seem to think you have me all figured out but..Who did that to you? I swear they’ll never work in this town again..you tell me the name and it’s done!” Maya scowled in anger at the very idea of it. You throw your hands up to stop her and she doesn’t want to drop it but she listens for now.
“Mason, is that really your favorite book or is this some kinda sick thing you figured out about me? You pay my ex or stalk me or something?” You try to think of all the worst case scenarios now.
“Damn, who the fuck did this to you. You write the most amazing love stories…did all of that happen? Or are you..are you really are afraid of love?” Maya asks and your body flinches and she wishes she could take it back instantly. Maya had never spoken to anyone this way and it felt foreign, but the horror on your face says she’s done it wrong. This was not how intimacy worked for you evidently…Maya had just learned what intimacy was, and it was new for her too.
“Fuck you!” You shout, turning around and Maya panics and she shouts after you.
““You do not know how fast you have been running, how hard you have been working, how truly exhausted you are, until somewhat stands behind you and says, “It’s OK, you can fall down now. I’ll catch you.””
Maya looks around at a few people staring at her, but she doesn’t care. It’s not something she’d say to anyone, ever. But she quotes the book in the hopes you’ll come back.
Two months of wanting to talk to you was hard, Maya did like instant gratification.
You stop and Maya waits, afraid if she approaches you you’ll run.
But you surprise her by turning around and walking back to her.
“Maya, just forget about me. I’m nothing special. I write all this crap. But that’s where it ends ok?” The head of marketing loves her name on your tongue, but she hates what you are saying.
“You can’t mean that. You are lying. You are so talented. No one can write that and then…then believe..” Maya says and you both let the thought sit there. You clench your fists and Maya wonders why you don’t believe her.
“Goodnight.” You whisper and then leave her standing there in all her sexy designer glory.
Maya opens the book to the front page, where she’d wrote the note this morning. Her fingers trace over the letters before she sighs and throws the book into her bag.
Going to her car she blasts her bad ass boss playlist. She curses as the song ‘INTIMACY ISSUES’  plays. Finger hovering over the next button.
Always on the low
'Til I'm with a guy
Distracting my mind
Hope they do not mind
I need to get high
So I put a record on
Then I roll
Then I smoke
I just need someone who listens
I just need somebody close
Keep it simple
Keep it sweet
I won't be that girl you need
'Cause I'll be writing love letters
'Til my fucking wrists bleed, oh
High off nicotine
While they're asking about my dreams
Don't remember, don't remember
I've been smoking too much weed, oh
I don't want the intimacy, ooh
Don't lie to my face and tell me you will never leave, ooh
Please, I don't want the intimacy
Maya screams at the top of her lungs and slams her strong palms against her steering wheel over and over. Turning off the stupid song and then speeds off cutting people off in traffic.
______________________________________________________
Maya see’s you three nights later at a big party, it’s not where she’d expect you. You were obviously there to rub elbows with the rest of the big wigs. And Maya saw that look again, the one that made her so curious about you in the first place.
You had leaned over the bar, top of your breasts on display. Your cleavage was a sight.
You held a twenty between your fingers and asked for a drink and your face fell to the side, and then Maya was caught staring. You found her familiar gaze, more of a comfort than you’d expected and you scanned her outfit for a minute, before you nodded once. A small nod, but it was better than Maya had gotten from you…well ever.
Maya wonders if this is her shot, her chance to talk to you, really talk. Tell you how she feels.
The bartender handed you a strong drink and you melted back into the party before Maya could cut through the crowd and say hi.
A few hours pass and she doesn’t see you again.
Maya was talking to another studio exec when she heard someone yell and then a streak of your hair comes into view as  you shove a tall man roughly against a wall away from you. The jackass crashes into one of the ugly modern paintings that line this expensive mansion.
He curses at you ‘Fucking cunt! You write all that crap because no one wants to fuck you!”
It’s not unique, and you don’t care about him or the people watching at this moment.
You just laugh manicly and look down at your now ripped dress, what a prince charming this guy was.
But Maya didn’t need to see another second of this show.
She didn’t even politely excuse herself, she pushed her martini into Matt’s hands and rounded to where you were.
But the guy didn’t take your shove as the final act of this show.
The upcoming Netflix special starring actor had the nerve to lunge at you, upset at being embaressed.
Maya was faster though, she kneed him in the balls and he cried out and fell over. Grabbing his genitals like they might have just burst, Maya hoped they had.
She stood over him with her sharp heels and killer outfit. His perfect curls falling into his face as tears formed in his eyes, his perfect jawline was next to Maya’s heel. And she stopped herself from putting her shoe on his face, leaving that pretty indent of her stiletto heel against his sculpted cheeks.
Flicking her hair over her shoulder. The music scratched and everyone got quiet.
A Maya fight was always a fun thing at a party, talked about for years after. Even though it happened more often than not.
“YOU BITCH!” The actor who’s name Maya couldn’t place wheezed. But she bent down and let the toe of her heel move under his chin so he was looking up at her.
You were watching, everyone was watching.
“You limp dick-nepo baby bastard, your whore mother should have swallowed you and done this town a favor. You just ended your career pretty boy. Not even Daddy can bail you out now. Don’t ever come near her again.” Maya spits and it hits his face as he is holding his crotch in pain.
You tried not to get turned on at the sight, honest you did.
But you were brought back to reality as a flash went off in your face.
People took photos on their smart phones like they couldn’t wait to post it. Keanu Reeves clapped and shouted ‘Go Maya!’
But Maya didn’t care as people got excited, she saw your look of displeasure, of horror at all the attention. And then you ran out of there and Maya was fast on your trail.
Maya heard Lisa Ann Walter call your name to stop you, but Maya was sprinting after you.
You got to the back of the house, and you felt anxiety spike so hard in your body. Maya fell out of the door of the party after you. You turned and cursed yourself.
You’d just made another TMZ article, you were so ashamed. You wanted to behave but you just couldn’t it seemed.
You look behind you to see Maya and she was gorgeous, her outfit, her hair, her make up. You thought of her shoes on the stupid assholes face.
It was all perfect, but that wasn’t what was the worst. It was the fact that Maya was so unapologetically Maya.
You craved her. You wanted to fall to your knees and eat her out right here.
But the reminder of all those people and your career taking another beating made you panic once more.
“Hey, take a breath Austen.” She says and you shake your head and pull at your once perfectly styled  hair. Maya steps forward and you take a step back. You hated being touched when you were upset. It was a stupid movie trope to hold the girl as she was angry. If Maya touched you right now you’d give her a black eye. And Maya seemed to figure that out fast.
“Easy, I’m not gonna touch you. I’m not gonna hurt you. Just..put your hands over your head. It opens the airways. Ok, no one’s gonna come up here. Look! Look!” Maya says and she walks over to the door you both came out. She easily lifts the giant planter with a huge palm and she props it against the door with a thud. You are impressed by how strong she is. But you don’t let yourself analyze why you are looking at her gorgeous arms flex.
Maya puts her hands up like you are holding a gun to her.
“Just me and you Austen. Take a breath, no one to fake it for. You don’t need to pretend right now.” She tells you and you lean over and put your hands on your knees. Feeling the room is spinning before you listen to Maya. Placing your hands over your head, standing tall, and closing your eyes to take a breath.
“Good girl, keep breathing.” Maya says and your body shivers at the praise. And Maya saw it, but she doesn’t throw it in your face, or make a sexual joke at you. She just watches you and you want to hate her, but it’s hard right now to. If you were honest you never disliked Maya.
But as soon as you think it you have to lash out. You can’t like Maya. You need to put space between her and you.
“I didn’t need you to fight my battles. I’m not into that..White knight shit. I’m not in need of saving. I don’t know how many Taylor Swift songs you listened to in the 2008, but I don’t need your help.” You snarl and Maya laughs. She likes how creative you are with your cuts. But she doesn’t want you to focus on that right. So she drops her hands and gives you a gentle gaze. Her voice is soft and sinful, and you try not to find comfort in any part of Maya Mason.
“Why don’t we just table you despising me until your panic attack passes, eh? Then I can be the bad guy again.” Maya teases but she’s smiling and you smile at her now. Damn it. Fuck Maya Mason!
You get further down the spiral of anger at your own girly statement;
“You stopped sending flowers.” You want to slap yourself for saying it and Maya fishes into her pocket a gold cigarett case, it snaps open, and her manicured fingers pinch a rather large blunt. Maya let’s that sentence sit for a moment, putting the blunt between her dark red lips. She eyes you and you use all your will power to not look at her lips, really you do.
She swaps out the case for a lighter, you see words on it but you can’t make it out without your glasses.
Maya lights her drug of choice with the sentimental family arloom lighter, then snaps it closes. She takes a hit and then fingers the joint like she’s Cruella or something, it’s full of power, it’s gangster and feminine. It makes her look like the ultimate siren. Maya is dripping with confidence and sexual power.
And yet Maya doesn’t feel like that right now. But to you, fuck, you couldn’t write or instruct an actor to get close to the ease in which Maya had you aroused from just lighting a joint and smoking.
You never had seen anyone smoke in such an erotic way.
Maya rubs her forehead with the finger holding the joint and then answers.
“You didn’t like the flowers I thought, or the presents.” She says and you reach your hand out and Maya is quick, handing you the blunt wordlessly. She was a little taken aback, but she doesn’t show it. Maya wants you to feel comfortable around her, she wants to get to know you. Fuck she wants to marry you. And if Maya makes comments or a face to make you self conscious she’s afraid that she’ll scare you away.
You take a drag and hold it in your lungs, handing the dark joint back. Maya seems entertained by you, but she doesn’t break your moment to dwell on this. Maya tries not to think about how her lips are about to touch the same spot yours were just warming.
She feels like a lovesick teenager just entertaining the idea.
The song plays inside the party and it has a sinister low bass and you can hear the lyrics. It’s ‘Such a Whore’ remix by JVLA.
You're such a whore, I need her
When she's one me I don't feel so lonely
Don't leave me horny
Ride me like a pony
Her sweat, her moaning
She's just such a fucking whore, i love it
I just fuck her on the side
When she's pinched for me on light
For that pussy I would die
You feel like Maya isn’t listening to the song, she probably can’t even hear it, but it’s making you feel like this is a scene in a movie.  To be next to her, this close, as those lyrics play. But Maya doesn’t let you keep listening to the lyrics. Doesn’t let you write your next story in her presence.
“I didn’t stop sending you things all together.” She points the joint at you before bringing it to her mouth and taking a hit again and you, in response, let the smoke out slowly. Unable to hold your breath any longer.
“Four Weddings and a Funeral, No Reservations, You’ve Got Mail …I’m sensing a theme.” You don’t mean for it to come out as flirty as it does. But Maya just seems to feel smug, like she won a prize or something.
Maya figured you’d seen them all before, but it was a theme she was going for.
“Yeah, you need to start writing more queer romance. Because there’s so much straight stuff.” Maya teases and then takes a hit holding it and passing the blunt to you. You inhale too, and hold it. Before looking behind you to see if anyone else can see you two smoking outside of this expensive actor’s party…or was it a Studio Exec?
Maya let’s the smoke billow out of her mouth like a dragon. Before you jump to fill the gap in the silence.
“Two people not compatible at first, one even not liking the other. Then..one person… giving them a chance…Kids these days call it ‘enemies to lovers trope. Though it could be argued four weddings and a funeral doesn’t fit that.” You say, calling Maya out. But she let’s her fingers brush against yours for longer than she needs.
Your breath hitches as the warm pads of her fingers graze your knuckles and then down to the ends of your black fingernails, she let’s them stay for a moment longer.
Before taking the joint out of your grip. Maya flicks the ash onto the lavish backyard patio. You wonder if she’s ever used an ash tray, or if she’d just put her spliff out on gorgeous models tongues.
The idea of it was so hard to push away, you were angry at your over active imagination. And why the idea turned you on so much.
Maya was watching you have an internal battle, and she would kill to know what you were thinking. Not just a saying in this moment, she had family in the Mafia, she’d do it.
But Maya let the doobie sit in between her fingers as she eyed it to see if the cherry had gone out. But the head of Marketing spoke to you as she fiddled with her lighter in her pocket again.
“Hmm, you know I like how you write all of that yearning. Your fandom really enjoys it too. The focus groups and first teaser trailer proves they’d watch you read a Take out Menu, as long as it was you. You have a way with words…A way with setting a scene.” Maya’s compliments don’t touch your skin, they don’t sink into your low confidence riddled mind. You are a tortured artist, just like every other waiter in this cursed town. So you focus on the interesting thing she’d said in that.
“You watched my movies?” You weren’t sure why that was so off brand for Maya. Not Maya coded at all. Maya puts the half smoked blunt inbetween her lipstick stained lips and uses one hand to block the Santa Ana winds. You think of ‘The Holiday’ with Jack Black being a gentlemen and helping Kate Winslet get the eyelash out of her eye. You try not to feel like you are in a movie again, try not to feel like love is at all possible, as you watch Maya take her engraved lighter and cup one hand to block the wind.
It blows from both sides now and her flame goes out.
Her manicured nails don’t get in the way as her thumb strikes the wheel to make another flame. You hate yourself for leaning in and cupping your hand to help her.
The memory of her breath against your ear the first day comes crashing in. You try to school your features.
Maya’s eyes gaze up at you now, she’s taller by a few inches normally. But you had higher heels on tonight, and she’s bent just enough to block the windy night. So looking up at you through her dark lashes feels too intimate.
But she doesn’t torture you, she lights the end of her blunt. And inhales, you step back and she flips the lighter closed. Breathing out before pinching the paper and handing it to you once more.
“Is that so shocking?” She says and you feel stupid.
You had made so many assumptions about the head of Studio Marketing. It felt jaded and childish now. You were a queer writer, you were never supposed to come to L.A and make movies. You wanted to write novels. Somehow you were writing straight love stories.
You weren’t supposed to be here. And people made grand assumptions about you all day. How you could fall into the same trap with Maya was now a little embarrassing.
You didn’t know Maya Mason. And it was becoming very clear, that you’d written her off quickly for the wrong reasons.
You shouldn’t have assumed she was just a player with no brains. Maya had proved to be different in every way. You read every note she sent in those flowers and you were quickly discovering from her desire to send you a movie every day….that Maya didn’t give up easily. She was driven in more than just her work, and she was so fucking smart.
You should have pushed her away because her blue eyes could only mean you falling into her, and that couldn’t happen.
You warrded off love, and you meant it.
Never again would you fall, never again would you give up your power. No, love and war were the same and you had no intention of bleeding again.
Maya was off the menu.
“Just doesn’t seem like you’d be the type to sit it and watch people fall head over heels for each other. Just figured you weren’t into romcoms. I figured you were more of a…trashy reality TV girl.” You can’t apologize and tell her you realize you’d been wrong. You keep up the lie. Keep the words hoping they sting.
‘Fall out of interest with me, I’m not worth this..’ You hope the remarks will do that.
Maya watches your lips as you take the quick burning joint.
She curses the paper for burning too fast. Not ready to go back in, not wanting this moment with you to end. How could she talk you into getting out of here? Going to a local restaurant and sit with her. Talk until the early hours of the morning, Maya wished.
“You don’t know me. And everyone wants that, that one person who see’s them. I don’t think that desire has a ‘type’ of audience. Everyone wants to be wanted, to be chosen in a crowd of people. To be taken home and grow old with someone. That’s just…perfect.” Maya says as she looks off into the distance. And you can see the hollywood sign in the expensive home.
The light bleeds against the dark backdrop, it would have made you feel dreamy the first month you’d been in L.A. When you believed this was the land of Angels, where people made history with their art. What a kid you’d been.
But time had made you mean and now it was just a sign on a hill. Just like the 405 highway. Nothing special as you saw it.
The color bled into the night like water colors becoming blurry on a canvas.
It was fake, just like everything and everyone in Hollywood.
But as you gazed at Maya you had to admit;
“You aren’t what I expected.” You wished you hadn’t shown your hand. Your cards felt bare on the table now. You hand her the blunt and stare at her hand instead. But Maya whispers and looks at you.
“Yeah, I suppose I’m not. But did you really think I was going to be… on…be like I am in the studio..All the time? You don’t think I put my feet up on a sunday, have a relax button? Don’t think I can chill?”
You think for a moment, before bursting into a fit of laughter.
“Fuck no!” You say dramatically and Maya laughs along, glad you get her brand of humor. Realizing you two had a lot more in common than Maya could have ever dreamt of.
And Maya’s sides hurt as she laughed.
“No, I really don’t. I am a lot, all the time. I actually threw an iced mocha at a producer an hour before I had to come here. Pretty sure he was wearing a vintage Armani suit too.” Maya cackles and you laugh too. Fuck it felt good to not fake a laugh too, but to actually laugh. To be naughty and enjoy a bad joke, someone somewhere would get angry at you for not being kind to the poor producer, but not Maya.
When you both caught your breath, Maya looked at the ends of her joint.
Time was up.
“It’s not so bad,” You whisper looking down at the end of your pot.
You felt a little floaty, but you’d smoked enough in your time here in California to know one joint wouldn’t do it.
“The weed? Yeah I picked it up so it’s fresh roll.” Maya says and you wonder if she’s being obtuse on purpose. As she flicks it into the big planter pot she’d used to barricade the door.
“No, being authentically yourself. Unapologetically crude and say what you mean and do what you want. Seems like it would be pretty..freeing.” You uncover a secret in the space between you and the gorgeous woman and Maya thinks about this. Eyeing the sign, the lack of anyone around, and then you once again.
Like she’s deciding, and you are curious what goes on in her mind.
“It is, that is until you lose someone important from your reputation.”
It feels like a declaration of love. And you almost want to be annoyed you hadn’t written it for a character in your storys. Because it was fucking good.
You both stared at one another, and you wondered if Maya would close the distance and kiss you. But she didn’t. And that made you want her to more.
“Thank you for what you did in there…” You point to the door with your thumb.
“I thought I was being toxic and saving you?” Maya’s eyebrow raises but her face is playful.
“I didn’t need your help…but it was nice to have someone in my corner..” You give her the insight. And now you really wish you would stop talking. Or better yet, be rude again. Because this was all too….romantic.
“Where’s Aubrey or Sandy? Not very gentlemanly to leave you.” Maya says and she realizes that she ruined your shared moment. But it’s too late to hit delete. Not a text she can unsend.
Your face sours and Maya opens her mouth to say words. Any words to have you look at her like you had a moment ago. But your walls slide back up so fast.
“What are you talking about? I didn’t bring a date. Oh, I see. You read that TMZ shit, you think I’m such a slut. That I’m going out every weekend with actresses older than me and fucking them, is that it? Jesus, I don’t know what I was thinking. You are just like the rest. Not that I care what the fuck you think, or anyone else. But those women are my friends. They’re strong and smart and-forget it! If I wanted to have a fucking orgy in George Clooney’s summer home with Viola Davis and Helen Mirren fucking me with their straps at the same time! It would be my business, not anyone elses! ” You say and Maya yells your name as you push past her and kick the big heavy planter, your shoe holds up. But the planter breaks and you step over the dirt and roots of the tree.
You throw open the door and go back into the party so you can get your keys and leave.
Maya tries to catch you but you are gone.
____________________
Maya doesn’t apologize.
She wan’t raised to. No one in her family had ever taught her how to, in fact.
So she isn’t sure how to say sorry. But she knew she regretted how things ended that night. And she still was desperate for your company. Even if you never believed her, she just wanted to talk to you.
Maya was in love, already so far gone, and it was embarrassing. If Maya did get embarrassed by feelings, which she didn’t.
So on Monday she opened another browser on her computer and ordered a book again. Hoping it would get you to talk to her, even if it was just to throw it in her face.
So three hours later when she was taking a meeting with Patty and Sal and you threw the door of her office open. She was relieved, not upset.
Maya’s assistant was trying to stop you but she shushed him.
“The fuck is this?” You held up Viola Davis’s memoire. But then you saw Sal and Patty and your face paled.
“We’ll leave, this seems like a couples thing.” Sal says and you open your mouth to say that you aren’t dating Maya. But you can’t find it in yourself to correct him.
So when Patty lightly pats Maya’s shoulder like an understanding friend. Who is very aware that she’s gonna sleep on the sofa you wonder if the whole studio believes you two are actually dating.
Maya closes the door and then puts her hand out for the sofa.
You don’t want to give her the pleasure of being obedient. So you throw the book at her and Maya ducks. Not catching it as it hits the wall.
“I take it you aren’t one for memoirs then?” Maya teases and the vein in your neck pops out. Maya eyes it and wonders how you taste. She wonders if she licks that vein, what noises she’ll get in return.
“I don’t get the game you are playing. But I mean it, I’m not interested.” You say and Maya feels like she knows you well enough in this moment to know you don’t actually mean it. Your voice just doesn’t hold the same venom now.
“Did you read it?” Maya asked and you ground your jaw.
“Yes, Viola Davis is amazing, I thought it was very well written and very moving. Why did you send it?” You say and then wonder why the fuck you are still in her office, with the door closed. Alone with Maya Mason.
“You left the party before I could talk to you again..and you said that thing about double penetration with Viola Davis. So…it was my way of…I wanted to…” Maya trailed off and you both look at each other with such intensity.
But Maya’s door is opened and Matt is holding up a report on marketing that he’d printed out. He’s holding it up and then he eyes you across the room.
Maya grabs the cup full of pens off her desk and chucks it at Matt’s head. He curses as it hits him in the face. Wow, she had great aim.
Blood quickly squirts out of Matt’s nose like he’s a pierced Capri Sun. He cups his face and drops the pages and they go fluttering to the floor.
“MAYA WHAT THE FUCK! OW! I’M BLEEDING!”
Wow Matt bleeds a lot, is he on blood thinners you wonder. Realizing Matt is an only child, because he couldn’t take a hit. You however had brothers, and you learned how to take a punch by the age of seven. You realize you should help your boss…or feel bad?
“HAVE YOU NEVER HEARD OF KNOCKING? GET OUT! GET OUT!” Maya screams and you try not to laugh as she goes feral. This was the Maya you’d heard so much about. Short tempered and unpredictable, ready to set someone on fire if they got her coffee order wrong.
Not the gentle looks you’d been receiving, book club conversations, white knight, and romcom hobbyist. You kinda liked watching this actually. Maya wasn’t just prince charming, she was…well Maya Mason. Not a fucking nail unbedazzled or wrinkle in her outfit as she wounded the head of the studio.
You couldn’t help but chuckle as Matt used his hideous tie to dab at his now bleeding nose. But he turns out of the office and his tie and shirt have giant blood stains on them.
Maya walks after him and you wonder if she’s going to apologize but she slams the door.
You can’t help but make a joke.
“I didn’t knock either, is that what happens if I don’t knock next time?” You tease, knowing you should feel bad for enjoying this so much. Matt was innocent and didn’t deserve it, but it was hilarious.
“No, I like you. I want to go out with you. Fuck I’m trying to woo you here! Besides don’t pity the twat. This is far from the first time I’ve told Matt to respect the closed door. And if I’m in the middle of a meeting and my door is closed you just…open it. Come in, okay Austen?” Maya says and her hair is a little wilder than before. You wonder if she even realized how honest she was being.
“Okay.” You say the word slowly, like you are trying to process all of that. And you don’t know why you feel like you are going to blush.
“Okay.” Maya repeats she takes in the sight of you, your outfit makes her want you. The hair not in your ponytail is begging to be placed behind your ear.
You both stare at each other and you walk around her desk  to pick up the thrown book. You are extremely aware that Maya is staring at your ass as you bend over. But it doesn’t piss you off how you’d like it to. It feels like flattery, which makes you feel like a stupid teenager.
After you pick up the book you make your way to the door and Maya goes to grab your wrist, to stop you but you throw open the door and walk out. Your signature black boots clicking on the marble floor.
“Are you free tonight? I’ll take you to that new sushi place on Sunset!” Maya yells for the whole floor to hear. You flip her the bird from behind, you but don’t turn around.
“Not happening Mason!”
Maya smiles as she watches you put a little more sway into your hips. But her phone starts to ring and she knows it’s HR. She’s going to get another complaint filed against her and she rolls her eyes but goes to answer it.
_______________
The next day Maya is at Matt’s house for a party. She looks all over for you, but doesn’t find her gorgeous and tortured Jane Austen sitting in a corner surrounded by pretty Mommy actresses.
Maya tries not to pout as she goes over to her group of executives. Knowing she’s here on business. Not wanting to spend time at the lame venue longer than needed.
Patty gives her a shitty mixed drink that Matt is serving. There’s a theme to the party but it got lost somewhere. Maya takes a sip and tastes vanilla vodka and Malibu rum with a little bit of pineapple juice. It’s fucking gross.
But Maya sees the alternative is what Patty is drinking.
Which is a play on Sangria..only for some reason it’s 75 percent fruit in her glass. And she keeps spitting out chunks of rancid mushy old fruit into a napkin.
Sal is high as fuck. Matt is trying to get anyone around him to get Zoe Kravitz to come to his party. From the looks of it, everyone at the party either works for the studio. Or is a B level celebrity.
Maya thought she’d seen Luke Wilson but it was actually the Wilson’s youngest cousin. It was a pitiful party and Maya was counting down the minutes until she could leave.
“Patty I’ll give you a fucking raise if you get Kravitz here!” Matt tried and then eyed Maya.
“Where is your girlfriend? Can you call her? We need a big name!” He says and Maya has seen this look from him before. It’s that desperate need for be cool to others, it’s nasty to be around.
“Haven’t you heard, Maya can’t get a date! So it it just sex then?” Quinn asks coming out of nowhere and Patty and Maya both grimace at her drunken state.
“Of course it’s not just sex! Maya is in love. And our young Austen is the queen of romance. I wouldn’t be surprised if they were already picking out vacation homes. You guys u-haul it last weekend?” Patty jokes but everyone belies it as the truth.
Maya sips her gross drink before putting it onto a passing survey’s tray to get rid of it.
“Matt I’m sure someone will show eventually.” Maya says not willing to tell the reality of her love life, she wanted what they said to be the truth.
“You really believe that? You think your girl will show?” Matt said excited and Maya smirked.
“Of course not. But HR said I can’t make you cry again this quarter without getting a pay cut.” Maya said and the whole group laughed, except Matt who checked his phone again.
“Patty don’t you have Al Pacino’s number from when you used to give him blow jobs?” Matt asks and Patty is chewing a grape from her weird drink. She chuckles at the memory.
“He’s 85 Matty. You want a repeat of Vegas? You wanna see if you can kill him with mushrooms.” She taunts and everyone finds that entertaining.
Maya can’t help but chuckle with the group at that memory.
“Why didn’t you ask me? I’m your best friend!” Sal said and he takes Pattys drink and throws it on his chest.
Yeah he was really high. Patty just looks relieved she doesn’t need to keep eating the fruit salad.
“You don’t have anyone’s phone number. You once told me you were fucking Brie Larson. You are a liar!” Quinn said and Patty looked at her concerned that she may have got her drink spiked. She was sweating and being very blunt.
“She knows we got to second base! Besides; I have everyone’s phone number. I got Brad’s Pitt’s phone number and even Anthony Hopkins Fax number!” Sal brags and opens a small container of cocaine.
He looks around for a surface and then goes to the bar.
Maya arches an eyebrow and makes her move;  she corners him at the end of the bar as he pulls out a rolled up fifty to use to snort.
“Sal, I need a phone number.”
He leans down and does his line before using his finger to rub the excess on his gums.
He eyes Maya for a minute like she’s a unicorn before realizing what she’s saying.
“Your girlfriend need to get in touch with Sally Fields. Get it cuz you both are old and have dark hair? She has a type!” He jokes and Maya tries to remain non homicidal to him.
“Will you get me Austen’s phone number?”
“You don’t have your own girls number? Oh shit is she such a romcom queen you gotta like..send her letters or something? Or oh, did you get in trouble again and she changed it! That would suck! Is that why everyone said she won’t go out to eat with you?”
Maya focused on box breathing. Sal had already decided on the idea of payment as she tried not to set him on fire with her lighter.
“Wow, Maya. I wonder what I want.” He pulled the coke out again and put it on the glass bar.
Maya was planning his demise, and her alibi. But she focused on counting down from five trying to not reach across and slap the phone out of his hand and then take out his eye with one of the appetizer toothpicks.
Sal got an idea before doing another line, holding up his finger like he found the holy grail. Maya was sure he wasn’t Harrison Ford and he had not.
“Ooh how about like a blank check as they used to say in old Hollywood?. I want you to owe me a favor!” Sal says through his coked out mind and Maya doesn’t like that. She grew up around the mafia, she knew better.
Maya leaned in and took her phone out. She used the passcode on one of her secret apps. Sal’s face fell as he looked at the screen.
“How about this? You give me her number or I’ll show the entire party the video of you getting a golden shower at Angela Lansbury’s Easter party from Bette Midler and Mark Warburg. How does that sound? I believe I saw a projector in the main room, I can’t wait to tell everyone it’s movie time! Do you thing we can connect the Bose speakers?” Maya taunts and her face is so excited and Sal is shaking his head. But her finger hovers of the play button.
“Fuck no! I opened my mouth the whole time…Please ok I’m sorry! Fuck I didn’t know you had that! You are so scary! Jesus!” Sal grabs his phone out of his tux jacket and scrolls. He reads the digits out and Maya quickly adds them to her phone.
Sal runs away and Maya grabs the drink he ordered and downs it in two gulps. Phone sitting in her manicured nails like a sacred prize of war.

All Eyes On You
Tumblr media
MASTERLIST, MORE
Summary: You’ve been showing up to every game in custom jackets, heels, and lip gloss sharp enough to cut through tension. You don’t hoop, but you’re a problem. Especially for Caitlin, who can’t seem to stop looking your way.
Genre: Slow tension, flirtation, soft build, off-court vibes
Warnings: Mild language, flirtatious energy, one-sided pining (but mutual 👀)
Word Count: ~ 0.4k
Vibe: Femme power, ‘you’re on my mind mid-game’, heels louder than your thoughts energy
Tumblr media
You didn’t need to go to every game.
You weren’t one of those obsessive fans with season tickets and group chats about stats. You had a life, a schedule, plans. You showed up when it made sense. But when you did show up? You showed up.
Black heels. Tight jeans. A cropped varsity jacket custom-made just for the moment—white and gold satin, her number embroidered near your heart in sleek black thread: #22. A little sparkle stitched under it, subtle but loud enough if someone looked too long. And they always looked too long.
Especially her.
Caitlin noticed you before you ever said a word.
At first, it was just curiosity. You didn’t dress like the rest of the crowd. You didn’t cheer like them either. You weren’t loud. You didn’t jump and scream. You leaned back in your seat, legs crossed, watching like you knew something. Like you were scouting her. Or challenging her. And maybe that was why she looked at you too long the first night.
And the next. And the one after that.
It became a thing. If you were in the building, shed know before tip-off. Could feel it. The way her focus tightened. The way her passes got sharper. The way her game got just a little more electric—like she was performing for someone, but didn’t want anyone to know.
She didn’t even know your name. Until one night—mid-season—you weren’t there.
She’d been looking. Scanning the same section she swore you always sat in. But nothing. No heels. No hair. No sly little smile. And for the first time all season, her game was… off. Her rhythm shook. Her shots missed. Her mood? Gone.
“Rough night?” one of her teammates asked in the locker room.
Caitlin shrugged. “Yeah. I guess.”
No one asked why. But if they looked close, they’d see her glance toward the stands one last time before leaving.
You didn’t come back until two weeks later. This time, in a black trench coat and a new custom piece. Gold chain, thin and sleek, the pendant resting just at your collarbone: C22.
She saw it when you stood.
And she didn’t miss a single shot after.
Tumblr media
Y’all didn’t talk until after the season ended.
Post-game meet-and-greets were usually a blur, but that night she walked straight over to you. Not a word. Just stood in front of you, hands on her hips, sweat still clinging to her neck.
“Nice necklace,” she said, trying not to grin.
You tilted your head, playful. “You earned it.”
That’s how it started.
Messages. Banter. Video calls. A slow unraveling. You never pushed. You let her come to you. And she did. Every time. With stories about practice, little updates about film breakdowns, inside jokes from games you’d barely watched. You’d ask what she was wearing, just to fluster her. She’d ask what you were cooking, knowing damn well you were ordering Uber Eats.
Then came the first gift.
She opened her locker one day to find a new jacket—deep maroon, her initials stitched into the lining. Hidden on the inside collar, where only she’d see it, was a small embroidered script: “All eyes on you.”
No note. Just that. But she knew.
Tumblr media
You didn’t have to show up all the time. That was never your thing. But whenever you did?
She played better.
The team noticed. Fans noticed. Commentators started asking who you were. Someone on Twitter dubbed you “the mystery muse in stilettos.” And Caitlin?
Caitlin stopped denying it.
“Who’s that in the stands tonight?” a reporter asked post-game once, nodding toward you.
Caitlin’s answer was simple, easy. “She’s mine.”

20 Years of Friendship and Cons
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Characters: Jensen Ackles x Reader, Readers best Friend
This is a work of fiction and does not depict real life. Jensen is Married in this Story but on the verge of Divorce from Danneel.
All work is my own, please don't take it or use it, Reblogs and likes are appreciated.
Chapter 1
My best friend Shannon and I were headed to Vancouver for our 20th Supernatural convention and we are celebrating our 20th year of friendship too, so this convention would be special. As we got closer to the Westin Bayshore Hotel, things were becoming more real, “Shannon, can you believe this is our 20th convention and we are celebrating our 20th year of friendship too?” “I can’t believe it Y/N, it’s crazy to think that we have attended 20 conventions now and it’s funny to think that Clif and the boys are like family.” As Shannon finished her sentence the Uber pulled up to the hotel and you could see the chaos already. There were people everywhere, and it was so loud you could hear it outside the hotel. Shannon and I paid the Uber driver and grabbed our suitcases and headed into the hotel to check in.
“Welcome to The Westin Bayshore Hotel, How can I help you today?” “We are here to check in.” “Name please?” “It's Y/F/N Y/L/N for 2.” “Ah, yes it says here that you have been upgraded to a suite for the next 5 days. “What do you mean suite, I booked a regular room?”. “Well Ms. Y/L/N it says here that Creation Entertainment upgraded your regular room to a suite. Here are your key cards and the suites are on the 18th floor, just please be mindful of those who are also on that floor and enjoy your stay and the convention.” “Thank you so much Molly, and we will”. We grabbed our keycards and headed for the elevator, as we reached the elevator doors. I hit the button and we waited, “Shannon can you believe Creation Entertainment upgraded our regular room to a Suite? I wonder why they did that?” “I know right, I can’t believe it, I guess we will eventually find out why once we get up there.”
As we reached the 18th floor, the doors opened revealing an exquisite looking hallway leading to all the suites. As we headed down the hall, each suite door had a number and then a letter underneath it. That’s when we realized that we were on the same floor as the actors. As we got closer to our room, the last 3 doors before ours had initials on them the first was JDM, the second was JP and the third and final door before ours had JA on it. “Why are we up here?” Shannon looked at me and asked.  As she asked, we saw Clif waiting for us at our door, “Hi Ladies, I guess you’re both wondering why you are up here in a suite, well J2 found out this was your 20th convention and wanted to make it special for the both of you. So they had your regular room upgraded to the suite.” “Wow, thank you Clif and tell J2 thank you from both of us too.” “Will do, enjoy the convention.”
An hour later Shannon and I were sitting in our suite, waiting for our room service to come, so we decided to stay in tonight and just relax before the craziness tomorrow. As we were chilling and waiting for our food, I decided to check out Instagram to see if Jensen posted anything lately. As I opened Instagram I got a notification that Jensen did post. I clicked on the notification and I saw his latest post,a selfie he took in his hotel room of him reading the latest script, but he looked sad and the caption read “Got the latest script, figured I’d read it.” “Hey Shan, did you see the latest post from Jensen on Instagram?” “No I didn’t, what did he post?” “It’s just a selfie in his room, but he looks so sad. Do you think it has something to do with Danneel?” “ I hope not, I hope everything is okay.” As Shannon finished her sentence our room service arrived. “Thank God we have Netflix on the tv here, so we can chill with some Supernatural tonight.” “I totally agree, Y/N, it wouldn’t be a Supernatural convention without it.” As the night wore on, both Shannon and I fell asleep.
The next thing I knew it was the next morning. “Shan, we need to get up, we’re going to be late to the start of the convention.”  We both got up, grabbed showers and got ready to leave, “Hey Y/N let's grab coffee from the Starbucks down the street before we head into the convention.” “Okay sounds good, I’ll order our usual and we can just pick it up and go.”
An hour later we were headed back into the hotel when we noticed Clif standing by one of the rooms for photo ops and he looked like he was panicked and stressed. Shannon and I looked at each other and headed towards Clif, “Hey Clif, what made you panic so early?” Both of us said at the same time. “Jensen is, he got a phone call and took off without telling anyone and we have no clue where he is and if he's okay.” Shannon and I looked at each other and started to panic too, “Hey Clif, give Y/N and myself 2 hours and we will have Jensen back safe and sound.” Clif nodded and walked towards the other room. “Shan, do you remember 2 years ago at the convention, Jensen talked about Stanley Park being his favourite place to go when he was here in Vancouver?” “Ya, I do, he also said that the Marilees Trail was his favourite because it was out of the way and off the beaten path.”  “Okay, then let's head there first.”
Shannon and I grabbed an Uber to Stanley Park, “I hope we find him, and I hope he’s okay.” “I hope so too” Shannon said as the Uber pulled up to the Stanley Park entrance. “Y/N, let’s find Jensen.” “Yes, I just hope he’s okay, him taking off like that isn’t great. It means something happened with that phone call.” We talked as we made our way to the Marilees Trail.
We walked the trail for about an hour, and we finally noticed a man sitting with his back facing us. As we got closer we realized it was Jensen and he had his head in his hands. You could see he had been crying because of the tear streaks running down his cheeks and his shattered phone had been thrown across the path. I stepped closer to him, “Jensen, its Y/N, Clif told us you received a phone call and just took off. Shannon and I came to find you. Everyone is worried about you.”
Jensen looked up at us and just shook his head with more tears falling. We both sat down on either side of him and took his hands in ours. “Danneel is leaving me and she’s taking the kids with her” he said with tears falling down his cheeks. “Oh Jensen, we are so sorry we can’t believe she’s doing that.” “Danneel and I haven’t been seeing eye to eye for the last 6 to 8 months. I’m okay with her leaving and divorcing her, but for her to take my kids away from me, I can’t handle that. JJ, Arrow and Zeppelin are my everything. I can’t lose them, I just can’t.” I looked over at Shannon and she looked back at me and nodded, “Jensen, you’re going to have to step up and make the kids your number one priority and prove to Danneel that you will be there for them. If that means having to step away from certain projects for a while, then do that. You can’t let Danneel win, you have our support, and I know Clif, Jared and Jeff will have your back too, but right now we need to get back to the convention. You have people waiting on you and fans waiting to see you.”
“Thank you Y/N and Shannon, how did you know where I was?” Jensen asked as he stood from the ground. “A couple of conventions ago you talked about your favourite place to visit in Vancouver was Stanley Park and when you did come here, you always took the Marilees Trail because it's out of the way and off the beaten path. So we figured you would be here.” Jensen nodded as he continued walking. As we reached the entrance of Stanley Park, I ordered a Uber for us. “Y/N, can I use your phone? I want to let Clif know that I’m okay and we are headed back.” “Sure thing Jensen, here you go,”
After 15 minutes Jensen finished talking to Clif. “Everything okay Jensen?” “Yes, everything is okay. I was making sure Clif had everything set up for you and Shannon, because I’d love it if you two would join me in the green room for the convention. I want to talk more with you plus it’s my way of thanking you both for finding me and talking me down enough to go back to the convention.” “We’d be honored to join you in the green room, Jensen.” “Well then let’s go, green room it is.” Jensen said as he smiled at us.
We finally made it back to the hotel, and were headed to the green room. Jensen went to clean up and said he’d meet us in the green room. As we sat down on the couch, Jensen walked in and you could tell he had a lot on his mind. He was lost in thought and quieter than normal. “Y/N, Shannon, I can’t thank you enough for finding me and talking me down. All I ask is everything I told you in the park and what I’m going to say in here, please just keep it between us. I don’t want it to get out yet.” Jensen asked us with pleading eyes. “Jensen you have our word, what happened stays between us.” As I finished my sentence Jensen got a text message and his whole facial expression changed. “She’s really going ahead with it, that Bitch”, Jensen said as he clenched his fist. “Whoa, what do you mean she’s going ahead with it?” Shannon and I said in unison. “It’s JJ, she messaged me and said “Daddy, Momma is making us leave with her and I don’t want to leave. I want to stay with you, please make her stop, Daddy please.” “Jensen you should call Danneel and confront her about the message from JJ. She needs to know and you need to find out for sure what’s going on.” Jensen nodded  and dialed Danneel’s number, it rang three times before it went to voicemail. So, Jensen left a message. “Damn it Danneel, we need to talk now, call me back!”
As Jensen hung up, Clif returned to the green room, “Jay, you need to get to the stage for the panel with Jared. They are ready for you.” “Okay I’m coming, I’ll see both of you out there and I’ll look for you in the crowd, enjoy the panel.” “We will Jensen, if you need us just let Clif know to get us.”
We headed for the main room to find our seats for the panel. We sat down and waited, after a few minutes they played the entrance music for J2 and out they came all smiles and waving. As the panel started, Jensen was having a hard time sitting still and you could tell his mind was someplace else. But he was getting through it the best he could. About halfway through the panel Jensen’s phone rang and he looked at it, Seeing who it was he abruptly left the stage to take the call. The crowd was confused and started to talk amongst themselves. “Shan, I hope Jensen is okay, it’s not good, I hope Danneel doesn’t give him a hard time.” “I know, it hurts my heart knowing what he’s dealing with right now.”
“What the hell Danneel? This is completely ridiculous and way beyond us divorcing. You can’t take the kids from me, they need their dad and I need them just as much.” “Jensen I’m taking the kids because obviously they aren’t important to you. Your damn career is your priority. You spend more damn time away from them than you do with them.” “You know you’re a bitch Danneel, you don’t even realize that JJ and the twins don’t want to leave me. They want to be with me. When was the last time you were at their birthdays or at school plays? You spend more mornings out with your freaking girlfriends than you do with the kids, and you have the balls to say I’m away too much. I’m going to fight for the kids, I’m going for full custody. This is the last conversation I’m having with you. You can contact my lawyer going forward!” “Fine, you got it, now goodbye Jensen.” As Jensen hung up the phone he started to cry, and he re-read the message from JJ, as he read it he started to feel a tightness in his chest and was having a hard time breathing. He was starting to panic. “Clif, can you go get Y/N and Shannon for me? I need them right now” Jensen asked Clif between trying to breathe.
We were sitting waiting for Jensen to come back, when we noticed Clif coming towards us, “Y/N, Shannon, J is asking for you both in the green room, just follow me.” Shannon and I looked at each other and stood up and followed Clif.

RECENT UPDATES ON THE BAD INTERNET CALIFORNIA BILLS:
Sadly, both AB1949 and SB976 passed and are now on their way to the governors desk.
We need him to veto them so they dont become Law.
If you havent Heard of the danger of those bills for the Internet , this post explain it thoroughly :

I CANNOT emphasize enough how these would have a global effect on the Internet given that most websites and apps originates from California and not all of them could afford either following those bills or moving states.
Now, as the bills are on their way to the governor, we need Californian citizens to voice their oppositions to those bills to the Governor Gavin Newsome HERE
(Non California peeps, we are urging you to share this as well!!! )
Please keep in mind that calling with phone is much, much more efficient.
You can also send faxes with Faxzero
Here are scripts you can use as arguments : (text/alt version below the read more )

TEXT VERSION :
AB 1949
Hello, my name is (INSERT NAME HERE) and I'm one of the Senator's constituents from (INSERT CITY HERE). I'm calling to urge the Senator to vote NO on AB 1949, the amendment to the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2020. While this bill's intent is to prevent the sharing and sale of minor's information under the age of 18, the method it would intend to do so by is written far too broadly for it to be safely and reasonably implemented.
While this bill retains a safer standard of the business requiring actual knowledge of a consumer being under the age of 18 to be held liable for the sharing or sale of personal information, its wording is still too broad to exclude a default usage of age verification by online businesses in order to protect themselves from liability. Taking measures such as age verification, age assurance, or other data collection and analysis to determine the age of users. Even though measures like this have been proven to be vulnerable to data breaches no matter how secure they proclaim to be. Such as this year's largest discovered breach of AU10TIX, which supplies age verification to companies like TikTok, X, Uber, LinkedIn, Paypal, and many others.
As it stands, this bill is far too broad in its wording and enforcement of its age-specific measures to be considered a safe piece of legislation. Which is why I urge the Senator to vote in opposition to this measure.
Vote NO on AB 1949.

SB 976
Hello, my name is (INSERT NAME HERE) and I'm one of the Assembly member's constituents from (INSERT CITY HERE). I'm calling to urge the Assembly member to vote NO on SB 976, the Protecting Our Kids from Social Media Addiction Act. Although this bill has intent to protect the mental and emotional health of California's youth, the method this bill would intend to use could be counterproductive to that goal, or even endanger them further.
One of this bill's primary measures includes requiring verifiable parental consent to allow websites to display “addictive” feeds to minor users. However, the ways “verify” the identity and age of a responsible parent are often invasive and dangerous. Especially since these methods have proven repeatedly to be vulnerable to data breaches that can leak sensitive information to bad actors. Such as this year's largest discovered breach of AU10TIX, which supplies age verification to companies like TikTok, X, Uber, LinkedIn, Paypal, and many others. To determine if this is necessary at all would also require collecting even more data on minors and non-minors alike to determine who would even require these measures to be set in place. Especially when it would have control over someone's access to a website or application based on the time of day, as this bill would require in order to “reasonably determine” the user is not a minor.
The vagueness of this bill's text at all is dangerous as well. The broad-spectrum definition it gives of “addictive internet-based service or application” could cause an unintended censorship effect where minors and adults alike could be blocked from accessing information purely because some part of a website or application uses a “feed” which could arguably fit the bill's definition of “addictive”
With all of this in mind, I urge the Assembly member to vote in opposition of this measure to protect the privacy and safety of California's minors and adults alike.
Vote NO on SB 976.

Shit, shit, shit...
Jenna cursed under her breath as she practically hammered down the first-floor button as if that was going to make it go faster.
She glanced over to the indicator right above the door, the numbers slowly inching towards the ground floor. Her foot kept directing her side to side in the elevator, a stressed back-and-forth pace she caught herself on all while she gripped the Beetlejuice 2 script right in her hands, the paper almost being punctured with holes and such.
Jenna could almost blame herself for this.
Actually, she does. She damned herself so much she wouldn't be surprised if she got hit by a bus, really.
It wasn't any other day you'd get a role in Beetlejuice, 2, might she add, and even landing the role of the daughter of Winona Ryder who is possibly one of the most outstanding actresses out there and a 90s icon.
And now she's just slightly fucking it up with first impressions with how she's atleast 10 minutes late to their set because she spent her entire night in reading and rereading the script over and over until she perfected her lines to the point it's probably better if she'd just make Beetlejuice herself.
When the doors slid open, Jenna bolted out until she made her way to the entrance, her hand tightly clutching that damn script and her other gripping the strap of her bag.
Fumbling with her phone to call an Uber, she couldn't help but grimace at the thousands upon thousands of texts saying that she was late and her alarm clocks repeatedly being turned on to snooze just minutes before.
Of course, this day of all days just so happened to be the day that the universe decided that it had a grudge on Jenna for whatever reason because all Ubers were somehow booked and it would probably take atleast 30 minutes for another one.
So, like the hardworking actress she is determined to get a first impression even with punctuality falling behind her, she ran.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It wasn't long, thank-fucking-god, till Jenna got to set. She slowed her pace a little when she saw the cameras and people surrounding a particular area.
She took a moment to compose herself as she approached them, smoothing down her pants and fixing her hair all while she tried to catch her breath before possibly collapsing on the ground. The crew members spared her a glance, how comforting, even if they all had concerned looks on their faces.
Jenna always worked with such talented actors and directors, and now here she was working with Winona Ryder meanwhile she was looking like she ran a marathon on the side while going to set.
"You're here!" Winona called out, lowering the script in her hands while she offered a warm smile. "We almost thought there were some complications in your schedule."
The young actress offered a sheepish smile, embarrassment flowing in her mind as she offered a weak hand gesture. "I'm so sorry, all Ubers were somehow booked and I woke up late." She admitted before introducing herself. "I'm Jenna. Ortega." She added.
Winona chuckled, "No worries. The tech team is sorting out some equipment issues, so it's a bit of free time right now." She explained, offering a handshake. "Winona Ryder. Your mother. Well, on-screen." She joked while Jenna laughed with it.
"God, sorry if I look worn out. I really admire your work, it's all so amazing." Jenna took her hand, reciprocating the gesture. She was almost going to add something until a figure approached Winona, looking like a split-perfect resemblance of her. And oh how she did the fastest double-take in her whole life.
"Oh, right!" Winona pulled, possibly the most prettiest and gorgeous, girl Jenna has laid eyes on in her 21 years of continuous breathing by the shoulders and pushed her in front of the young actress. Now life without you suddenly looks like something she just completely wasted her precious time on.
Just by looking at Winona and how excitement reflected in her eyes, Jenna could tell how much she beamed with pride for her daughter; it made her heart swell.
"Meet my daughter, Y/n."
There were things Jenna should do when she meets someone. She introduces herself in a calm manner and maybe engage in some friendly talk with them whether if it's the most awkward-est thing in her life or one of the moments she'd like to spend forever in.
What she shouldn't do is slowly have a mid-introduction nosebleed, completely throw out the knowledge that she has the ability to speak and say words while her mouth is half-agape and her eyes wide and never blinking. This rule seems to be more strict when she's convinced she has met the love of your life.
It's safe to say that Jenna checked all the boxes on the latter.
Jenna met your gaze, and oh how that was the stupidest decision she had ever made in her entire life. She felt a blush creep up her cheeks, breath caught in her throat, she tried to speak for a second but nothing came. It was like she was drowning but in the best way possible. And also falling head over heels in the worst way possible.
It's concerning how she almost wants to drop down and marry you on the spot; she's already rehearsing her vows inside her brain.
Jenna raised her hand, a shaky one at that, to offer a handshake. "I'm Jenny," she managed to squeak out, her cheeks burning with embarrassment at fumbling her own damn name. "I mean, Jenna! Sorry, not Jenny. I'm Jenna. Jenna Ortega." Oh, fuck, please just slit my throat already.
In every bad and awkward introduction, there's always someone from the other line slightly concerned but plays with it.
Your eyes crinkled, a bright sight to see that would put all sunrises to shame, and your lips parted like how the clouds part after a gloomy day, letting out a laugh that calmed Jenna's heart almost immediately. It was still running and skipping a fuck ton of beats per second, but your laugh seemed to warm it all.
"I'm Y/n, of course." You held Jenna's faltering eye contact as you reciprocated her gesture, "I'm really only here to accompany my mom," you explained. Please stay here forever. Better yet, be with me. Jenna almost said.
You shook her hand in the most softest way possible, her palm fitting right into yours. "Can't believe I met you, honestly." Jenna heard you mutter under your breath, a squeal following it.
Oh, if falling head over heels over you was a sin, she'd gladly be the epitome of something so mortal.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that was only a week ago. Just imagine how much internal panic she goes through whenever she sees you now.
Jenna repeatedly cursed under her breath, staring at the reflection of herself in the mirror as she gripped the cold parts of the sink, glaring at herself in complete thought.
Almost so serious as if her mind wasn't battling with something so completely stupid she'd rather drown in self-pity and misery.
Jenna Ortega, deemed as America's #1 IT girl who practically swooned all seven continents by now, almost had a near anaphylactic shock when her hand grazed over yours and how you gave her possibly the most sweetest and soul-crushing smile with that stupidest crinkle in your eye to ever exist on this damned earth, holy fuck.
Why should she be so head over heels for you?
She lowered her head in defeat, a heavy sigh escaping her as the same image of your smile flickered in her mind, and now a stupid grin from your stupid image graced her lips.
It was only a week in being on the Beetlejuice set, and she damn near lost her mind.
You were always there, well of course you were there since you were Winona Ryder's daughter, but she didn't expect to be so obsessed with you to the point she needs to go to the bathroom to silently scream whenever she hears or sees your intoxicating smile.
It's sweet. Almost endearing to her.
As if she even has the right to even think about you in that way.
Jenna stepped outside, patting her hands dry by the hem of her shirt. her name already being called out by the directors, their voices only getting louder and louder until it dwindled down to nothing and she could only assume that Winona stopped them, it was still her break after all. She was almost like a real mother to her, a comforting one at that.
She started to take a pattern in her steps before she saw you sitting on the railings of the trailer. More importantly, Jenna's trailer.
Okay, she shouldn't have seen this as a sign from the universe that you liked her back, but she did and that was all the hope that the fate or whatever deity could do because she was too desperate and too drunk on the lack of attention and attraction you were giving her.
But how could she not do that when you look so perfect just being... you? Being everything she wanted? Needed? Just being so damn perfect almost feels like Jenna could die.
"You like my daughter, don't you."
Jenna looked behind her, the sudden voice that crept being Winona, the mother of the daughter she had been smitten for, a noticeable faint smile on her lips. It was more of a statement than a question. A fact, really.
Jenna could almost deny it if it wasn't so accurate. But what was she supposed to say? "Yes, I do like your daughter, in fact, I love her so much I would absolutely give up my very career to buy her the most expensive wedding ring to ever be created from the hands of a human, or even a Greek God perhaps, to show that she owns my entire heart, body, and soul."
Panic was evident, Winona could clearly tell by the way Jenna looked like was scramming to think up of a half-assed excuse.
"Yes—I mean, not like like. I love her, really. She's talented, hardworking, and passionate in the things she talks about. But that's really it; I love Y/n, in a friendly way." Jenna stammered. Even if she was spouting complete lies and nonsense about how she doesn't have a massive crush on you, her gaze was stuck on, of course, you yourself.
Winona arched an eyebrow, "Jenna, I know when someone is horribly in love with my daughter and who’s not."
"The both of you were always somehow joined together, even if none of you were talking. You’re always finding a reason to bring her up in a conversation even if no one was even talking about her. Also, everyone takes notice of how your gaze was always focused on Y/n. Even on scene, you couldn’t take your eyes off of her for a second."
Yeah, that seems about right.
Jenna sighed, her line of sight never laying off of you. It's amazing how you still haven't noticed she and your mother was staring at you like a bunch of stalkers.
"Y/n deserves someone like her, someone in her league," she turned around, now walking in the opposite direction to her original one. She almost sounded like a teenage boy who realized they couldn't get with the popular girl. "She looks like someone even from the heavens above couldn’t fathom they created her from their own mind and hands."
Winona's expression softened as she caught up to Jenna, now walking beside her. "If you, The Jenna Ortega, fail to get her attention and love then it's all over for us." She never heard someone talk so romantic about her daughter, it's truly unfair how the ones who love the most always fall short.
Jenna's steps slowed, her body slumping against the fall as her gaze was fixed on the ground. God, why was she acting like this over you?
The young actress nodded, her hands going up to her face and sliding them down as she spoke, "She's like this incredible and unattainable dream you want to continue after you wake up, Winona." She mumbled through her hands, "Y/n's gorgeous, gentle, charming, and just… perfect." She let go of her face, her hands now on her sides. "It's intimidating just by looking at her, knowing she's the essence of beauty and perfection. Like, how do you compete with that? Overall be someone who she wants to stick by her side?"
The actress observed the young one, Jenna's head down and fidgeting with her rings. Winona could almost say that this was the most vulnerable sight she ever saw from her. "You don't have to match her perfection, let alone measure yourself up to that; you just need to be the missing piece she didn't know she needed. "
Jenna took a deep breath, her head slowly rising, "I just don't want to mess it up. She deserves someone as awesome as her, and if she ever likes me back, I'm afraid of waking up and realizing I'm not enough for her to be someone she loves."
Winona tilted her head, crossing her arms, "Tell you what, I don't know much about my daughter now. She's not closed off, but she isn't open either." She could see how Jenna flicked her head upwards, listening attentively. "But I do know that she's been watching all of your movies and shows up to this point."
Jenna's eyes widened in surprise. She doesn't wanna take any risks, but she doesn't wanna lose any chances either. "She... she has?"
Winona nodded, a soft and warm smile playing on her lips, just like the one you always have if not more comforting.
"I could never hear the end of it. She says you have this genuine charm whenever you speak, you're calm but you're also being true to yourself. Y/n admires you so much, I almost get sick of it," she laughed that pulled a chuckle from Jenna. "You're perfect in her eyes, but that's not what she likes about you. She likes you because you're authentic, yourself." She reached out for Jenna's shoulders, giving it a reassuring squeeze, "I'll be your wingman. I'm sure you're the perfect girl for my daughter."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that was maybe two to three months ago.
Now Jenna's thinking that you might be the most oblivious person to ever roam this entire globe. She's been dropping hints everywhere you go and you still wouldn't catch up that she has feelings for you!
Ever since Jenna got into Winona's wing, she knew everything that makes you happy. Your music taste, what type of flowers you like, what type of outings you like, clothes, scents, foods, colors, even legos, just basically everything under the sun she gave to you within a heartbeat.
Jenna gives you flowers everyday, hell even bouquets if she's feeling fancy. Reads and writes you letters, and ever since Winona gave her your number, she's been sending you voicemails of your favorite songs every morning as some goodmorning text. She's been nothing but romantic to you! Was she just missing something?
The only thing that really progressed was something of strangers to friends. The two of you were as close as ever to the point if one of you were needed, somebody probably would need to surgically remove both of you.
But that was it! No nothing, just friends. It was selfish for Jenna to want something more when she has the love of her life close to her as a friend, sure, but she needed just a little bit more before she mentally goes insane.
"I mean, come on!" Jenna complained to Winona, sitting across from the other chair just right beside her trailer, script in her hands but she was paying more attention to Jenna. "Flowers, letters, voicemails… I'm practically screaming 'I like you' at this point." She slumped over the table, "or maybe she's just really ignoring them."
"I think you're thinking too deeply, Jenna," Winona stated, looking over to somewhere far, "maybe you should confess. She's right there."
Jenna was about to stand up and say it all out and die in a hole if she gets rejected until she realized you were wearing something so... fucking gorgeous? stunning? breathtaking? ethereal? She needed a stronger word than all words combined.
It wasn't your everyday casual wear, in fact, it was something you'd wear to go on a date. A date that meant something, a date that you'd go with another person and to confess their love.
Oh, don't fucking tell her she was too slow to confess and some random dude confessed earlier.
"I don't..." Jenna stammered, she could sense that agonizing feeling of her heart sinking, a stinging pain but it was mixed with immense pressure, like she was almost drowning. "I don't really think it's the right time."
Winona let out a sympathetic sigh, "she did tell me that she was going somewhere important." She waved in your direction, grabbing your attention. "Y/n!"
Jenna didn't know it was possible to drown without having any bodies of water near you, now she was fully experiencing it by how her heart sank even further as she heard Winona's words.
She shouldn't be surprised, after all, somebody actually had the guts and mindset to actually confess to you personally without having to hide behind a facade and without having to drop a fuck ton of hints instead of saying it out loud.
It stung. Thinking that someone out there was that one for you. And how that someone was never Jenna. But it was sweet. She winced.
Jenna couldn't shake the pang and sting of disappointment as she watched to walk over to Winona, a smile on your lips like you've met the most wonderful person to ever be in your life. She couldn't read if it was real, and she hoped to God it was fake.
"What's with the get-up?" Winona asked, standing up while giving Jenna the look.
"Going on a date with this guy, he asked me." You smiled, yet again, but it was even brighter.
Yeah, she figured. When did she even assume that you liked women anyway?
"Can I borrow your car, mom, please?" You asked of her, your puppy eyes going in action while you mentally crossed your fingers.
Jenna wasn't the one to brag, but she could drive a car! Not that idiot guy who couldn't even take whatever vehicle to fetch her as a nice gesture. Hell, it was a date for godsakes!
Winona sighed, glancing between Jenna and you. "Sure, you can borrow the car," she stated before digging into her pockets and fetching her car keys, plotting it down to your hands, "but make sure to bring it back in one piece."
Jenna bit her lip, suppressing the urge to completely pull herself out of her chair and scream 'I love you so goddamn much, Y/n! Can't you see I'm the one for you and not some guy who couldn't even go the mile to drive you to the damn date!?' But no. Instead, she stayed in her seat, nodded as a goodbye, and forced yet another smile.
"Thanks for the flowers by the way, Jenna! I should really pay you back sometime." You chuckled, before hugging her head as your way of goodbye. "I'll tell you all about it when I get home."
"Don't worry about the flowers. No need to pay me back," Jenna replied, doing her damn best to keep her tone light and her knuckles not so light. As you hugged her, Jenna couldn't help but savor the moment, imagining that it wasn't a goodbye to go off on some date with some random dude but rather a lovely gesture. "I'll be waiting to hear all about it."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was atleast three to five hours ago.
Jenna never knew how a 2$ caesar salad bought from a suspicious vendor on the sidewalks could be so depressing but still mock her on how she just lost the love of her life to someone who actually had the guts to confess until she actually experienced it.
It was a slow day on set. Probably because it was already so late at night. There were still some scenes being recorded, but most of it was Winona's.
So along those hours when Jenna wasn't with you or she couldn't text you through the phone, all she could really do was stare from afar and hope that you'd magically have some miraculous change of mind mid-date and maybe you'll soon believe and realize Jenna was the one for you after all.
Of course, life wasn't like a damn movie and that damn date was still going to happen no matter what she does.
Winona sat beside Jenna, offering a sympathetic look at how Jenna was poking around her lettuce. "You know that's her quote-on-quote I don't really give two shits outfit but I still need to look good for a requirement that is people's feelings."
Jenna let go of her fork, damn even it looked sad. "But she looks beautiful."
Winona could almost roll her eyes if not for the young actress wallowing in her own thoughts. "It's because you're head over heels for her, Jenna. She could wear some obnoxious color-clashing clothes and she'd still look like a goddess for you."
Jenna sighed, picking up her fork again and halfheartedly stabbing a folded lettuce leaf. "I mean, don't you?" she asked, glancing at Winona. "You're her mother."
Winona shrugged, "Her clothes, her choice, but I still absolutely would not." She laughed, and her smile brightened when Jenna allowed a smile to crack through her lips.
Jenna could almost face-plant herself into the salad bowl if not for a notification pinging in Winona's phone. A notification that Winona only applied for you.
"...Or you could tell her that she's much better off with you rather than some guy that stood her up." Winona showed the phone to Jenna, your message illuminating on the screen.
y/n
mom can u pick me up? karaoke room 217 stood up on me lol come quick, pls. thx
Jenna would've been lying if she said she wasn't jumping, screaming, throwing up in literal joy.
Well, of course, she was mad that you of all people were stood up, but she was semi-glad that you were.
Jenna's urgency was visible as she scrambled to get out of her seat, grabbing her bag with such hast and making a sudden beeline for the exit.
"Tell her that you can't go! I wanna surprise her," She yelled to Winona, her excitement in her voice echoing through the room. It's almost weird and insane how happy she was about how you were stood up.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You waited for 2 hours.
It wasn't disappointing. You already knew it was just some sort of dare or a prank that one of his friends pulled, but you showed up anyway. Not like because you wanted to play with his feelings; you couldn't do that if you didn't have any.
In fact, you had feelings for Jenna.
Ever since she showed up on your screen, she was the only actress you could ever think about. She was charming, alluring, the only person who could make the daylight so dark if her smile was out of place.
You didn't know her, personally then, but you loved her. You were willing to start wars with the world, may it be against you or may all odds and fate oppose you, you’d do everything for her even if it kills you to be someone who would take all her hidden suffering and plead for tears with your palms locked and thrown away.
And now that you were working with her on set, you couldn't help but be someone you're not. All thanks to you and your mother on reluctantly giving up on the idea of not bringing you to set. You wanted to confess, you really did. It was just a silly little crush like you'd always have but this one with Jenna seemed real and your life would've ended if your feelings were rejected.
Though, even after all that, Jenna was the one you wanted to be with. The one you hoped would walk through that damn door and hug you until your worries and thoughts all disappeared, only met with her voice and her comforting arms.
That would've been a fleeting memory, wishful thinking. That is until the very girl that made you go insane rushed into the room.
What the fuck.
She was exhausted, you could tell by her chest rising and falling as she caught her breath, you couldn't help but smile at the sight of her; looking like she had gone the extra mile and maybe even drove a car on the way instead of running, just to be there with you. You could almost start laughing and be that snarky person you've always been to her if not for everything else fading into the background until Jenna was the only one left.
Without hesitation, she pulled you into a tight embrace, wrapping her arms around your body as she tightened the hug as if you'd die if she ever let go of your body. The warmth of her touch, the comfort in her soul, and her very being brought something so grand as you hugged her back. You feared that letting go would mean losing her forever, and she thought the same way.
"I love you." She murmured on your shoulders, closing her eyes. You notice how her voice cracked with vulnerability and almost sorrow as you tightened your hold on her.
"I love you," she whispered yet again, as if you didn't hear her the firs time. "I love you, I love you, I just love you." She dug her head under your neck, her breath warm on your skin as you waited for her to finish.
You could feel Jenna's heartbeat against your chest, fast and beating while it synced with your own. "I love you, Y/n. You don’t know how many lifetimes I would kill myself for you to look into my soul, everything beneath, and even the darkest parts of my heart so then you’ll see how I perceive you to be everything I look for. I can't understand how you don't understand how much you mean to me. How much your laughter was something I didn't know would be the cure to whatever terminal illness I had in life, your actions being my motivation, your soul being my guiding light, and your smile being something so bright that not even the sun could beat its glory."
Jenna slowly pulled away from you, her eyes searching yours for a reaction. The room was always so silent, but it never felt like it was the funeral of sound itself.
"I'm sorry—That—That wasn't... I didn't—" she stammered, her body already getting up and pulling away from you.
Gently, you reached out and cupped her face with your hands, your thumbs brushing away the newly formed tears that had welled up in her eyes and dripped from her cheeks. You could feel the warmth of her skin beneath your touch, her freckles, and everything that made Jenna her was right beneath your palm. You want nothing but to cherish it.
You couldn't think of a reply. You could, but it would never beat the confession Jenna had for you. It was more than a mere confession, but something out of a book that would put every writer to shame.
"Is this okay?" Your eyes searched for Jenna's consent in hers as you leaned in ever so slightly, her breath lingering on your skin until Jenna's lips met yours in a hesitant, gentle kiss. The touch of her soft lips against yours sent a shiver down your spine, her hands coming up to cradle your face as she melted into you while your own hands found their way to her waist, pulling her closer as the kiss deepened.
Life felt like something you wasted without her lips touching yours. How you felt everything and how you were everything under her soft touch, her presence. It was if every moment before her had been leading to this one. Every heartbeat, every breath, every time you've experienced something happy, sad, or even something conflicted was building up to the moment your lips finally met hers. You felt whole, alive, reassured, and comforted.
Her touch felt like a warm embrace from something so indestructible, a star so far away that only you could see it shine from afar but yet you could feel every inch of its presence.
Then it stopped. The both of you pulled back.
But your heart never did.
"You know I asked for your mom to be my wingman."
"Please don't destroy this moment we have by mentioning my mom, Jenna. I'm serious."
Jenna chuckled, her eyes twinkling, "give her some credit. I never would've confessed to you without her."
You couldn't help but smile, realizing she was still the Jenna you fell in love with. "I guess, but I don't really want to talk about my mom after I just got stood up and then kissed the girl I love."
Jenna's chuckle turned into a soft giggle, her hand finding it's way to your palm as she intertwined her fingers with yours. "Also, for the record, that guy was an idiot."
You nodded after shared laughter. With everything that's going around between the two of you, you almost miss how Winona arrived just in time. Standing by the door with a smile on her face.
But even with Jenna's hand over yours, she'd still fall head over heels for you.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
just some fuckass aftermath dialogues:
W: "You finally confessed." J: "Did she tell you?" W: "Well for one she's been awfully cheery and gave me a questioning I love you mom and offered me to go shopping with her."

Spark Plug | Pairing: Jarren Duran x MLBPlayer!Reader
Author's note: nooooo Jarren don't kys you're sooo sexy!!
Tumblr media
The team dinner’s at one of those sleek Boston spots—dim lighting, polished wine glasses, waiters who call everyone “sir” or “ma’am” no matter how many times you insist it’s just your last name and am ERA.
You’re tucked in a corner booth with Triston and Kutter, the pasta is actually good, and for a second you forget how weird it still feels to wear red.
Until you glance up and meethis eyes. Jarren Duran is seated across the room. Not directly across—worse. Diagonal. Just enough angle to make every unintentional glance feel choreographed by the universe.
You swear you’re not trying to look at him. But every time you check to see who’s laughing or who made that loud-ass clinking noise with their fork, it’s him. Every. Time.
And every time? He’s already looking.
Triston notices on glance three. By glance five, he’s nudging your knee under the table. By glance eight? He’s whispering: “If you stare any harder, you’re gonna set his hair on fire.”
You shoot him a glare and jab a forkful of penne in his direction. “I am not staring.”
Kutter raises a brow, sipping from his water like this is a soap opera and he’s on commercial break.
Triston leans in, grinning. “Look, I’m not judging. Duran’s hot. And weirdly good at Scrabble, which is hot in its own way. I’m just saying—you might as well talk to him instead of—”
You cut him off with a sharp, “Absolutely not.”
“Why not?”
“Because I don’t date baseball players,” you hiss.
Kutter snorts. “That’s a bold statement from someone in a room full of baseball players.”
“I meant teammates. Even former teammates are off-limits. I have a code.”
“Sure, sure,” Triston says. “Except your eyes haven’t signed the code.”
You kick him under the table. Not softly.
The dinner winds down. You’re laughing by the time dessert hits, the tension forgotten—or at least ignored. It’s nice to feel human again. Boston’s started to feel a little like home.
But then you get outside, and your car doesn’t start.
You try once. Twice. No ignition. Just a sad, sputtering click and the slow death wheeze of a battery that gave up the ghost mid-tiramisu.
“Great,” you mutter, head thunking against the steering wheel.
Triston’s already on the phone with AAA, leaning against the hood with the confidence of someone who’s never opened a glove compartment in his life.
“It’ll be like 40 minutes,” he says.
“I can Uber,” you offer.
“In this part of town?” Kutter replies. “Might as well wait for a horse-drawn carriage.”
That’s when the passenger-side window gets tapped. You look up. Of course. Jarren. Of course.
“Car trouble?” he asks, crouching slightly to see through the window. He’s got a hoodie pulled up, tattoos visible against tanned forearms. That one script down his left arm, the cluster of linework on the right. Art and edge. Cool confidence, casual as ever.
You roll the window down halfway. “Yeah. Battery’s shot, I think. AAA’s on the way.”
He shrugs, easy. “Mind if I take a look?”
You blink. “Wait—what?”
He grins. “I’m good with cars.”
Triston makes a hmmmmm noise behind you. You resist the urge to elbow him through the door.
“…Sure,” you say finally. “Knock yourself out.”
Jarren pops the hood like he owns the thing. Sleeves pushed past his elbows, tattoos catching the glow from the streetlight. There’s something stupidly attractive about someone who actually knows what they’re doing under the hood—who doesn’t guess, but moves with muscle memory and quiet confidence.
You hover awkwardly beside him, arms crossed.
“Didn’t take you for a grease monkey,” you say.
“Didn’t take you for the kind of girl who lets someone else call AAA,” he shoots back, smirking.
Your eyebrows rise. “I didn’t let anyone—”
“I’m joking,” he says, eyes on the cables. “Mostly.”
You fold your arms tighter. “You always this cocky when someone’s car dies?”
He glances up. “Only when they’ve been making eyes at me through a rigatoni fog for the last hour.”
Your mouth opens. Closes. Opens again.
“Triston told you, didn’t he?”
“Nope.” He tightens something. “Didn’t need him to.”
You groan. “I wasn’t—”
“Relax.” His tone is softer now. “I get it. You’ve got a whole don’t-date-teammates thing.”
You stare at him, eyes narrowing. “How do you—”
“I pay attention,” he says simply.
The engine hums as he gives the battery a little tap, and it coughs to life like magic. He looks genuinely proud.
You... kind of are too.
You run a hand through your hair. “So you’re a ballplayer and a car whisperer?”
Triston whistles behind you. “Okay, Duran.”
Jarren steps back, grinning. “Told you. I’m good.”
You’re quiet for a second, heat creeping up the back of your neck. You don’t do this. You don’t get flustered. Especially not over a teammate.
But still.
“…Thanks,” you say.
“No problem.” He wipes his hands on a rag he apparently keeps in his car. “You giving him a ride?”
You nod toward Triston. “Yeah. He left his car at the stadium.”
Jarren lifts a brow. “Nice. I drove myself, so I’m good.”
And then it happens—that second of silence where you can feel the weird tension. Where your mouth forgets how to form words and you’re halfway to asking him to come with you when Triston, angel of chaos, blesses you both.
“Cool, cool,” he says, yanking the passenger door open. “Then let’s go, Mom, I’m sleepy.”
You stifle a laugh and glance back at Jarren, who’s already stepping away, hoodie sleeves still rolled up, hand raised in a lazy wave.
And then—just before he turns—he winks.
Casual. Smooth. Completely illegal.
You climb in behind the wheel, heart a traitorous mess in your chest.
Triston slams the door and buckles up.
“So,” he says, deadpan. “When’s the wedding?”
You groan so loud the engine almost stalls again.

hi! I really loved your aaron and kelvin costars blurbs and I was wondering if you could do some more? thank you so much!!!🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Tumblr media Tumblr media
aaron pierre n kelvin harrison jr x actress!reader
yeah.. they’re fighting over you. Again.
They were bickering again. Not even quietly either.
You heard them from down the hall, voices carrying all the way to the snack table. You walked in slow, sipping your bubble tea with your airpods still halfway on, and stood in the doorway like a tired mother with two grown-ass sons.
“Can y’all shut up before I put both of y’all in time-out?”
Kelvin turned to you first, arms crossed and looking offended—but fine as hell, per usual. “Tell him to stop volunteering your time like you his assistant. She was with me last shoot day."
Aaron just leaned back in his chair with that smug little grin you hated ‘cause it always made your stomach flip a bit. “She came with me this morning. And she ain’t complain when I brought her her favorite bagel.”
You squinted. “That bagel was cold boo boo.”
“But you ate it though,” he said, eyes sparkling.
Kelvin turned to you too, like he was tryna recruit you onto his side. “Tell him you’re not his Uber passenger.”
You rolled your eyes, setting your script on the couch and flopping down right between them, legs crossed like the queen you were.
“Why y’all always act like I’m some prize in a rap battle?” you asked, raising a brow.
They both answered too fast.
“Because you are.” — Kelvin.
“Because you got main character energy.” — Aaron.
You blinked. “Wow. That’s crazy. Still can’t get a text back from either one of y’all though.”
Aaron leaned in closer, his voice low and sweet. “That is because I like hearing you talk in real time.”
Kelvin smirked, reaching over to tap softly your acrylics. “And I take my time responding ‘cause your messages deserve a reread. You funny as hell.”
You stared at both of them, deadpan. “So y’all just decided to be corny together today ? I should expose y’all asses.”
They shrugged. You fought a smile.
“I’m hungry,” you said, standing up. If they were going to bicker over you, you were going to enjoy it. “Whoever buys me lunch today wins. Simple.”
“Say less,” Kelvin said immediately, already grabbing his phone like he was about to DoorDash your entire favorites list.
“Lovie, I’ll take you out right now,” Aaron said, standing up too. “I got the keys. Let’s go.”
You rolled your eyes and grabbed your purse, smirking a bit. You walked toward the door without confirming anything.
“Damn,” you said to yourself, loud enough for them to hear, “Being me is exhausting.”
Neither of them moved. They just watched you walk like they had all the time in the world to keep trying.
And you? You kinda liked the attention.

𝒮𝓊𝓂𝓂𝒶𝓇𝓎: Inspired by the song Nothing by the Script
𝒲𝒶𝓇𝓃𝒾𝓃𝑔𝓈: lowkey kinda heart wrenching / drinking / borderline addiction / swearing / toxic??

So I stumble there, along the railings and the fences
I know if I faced her face, that she'll come to her senses
Every drunk step I take leads me to her door
If she sees how much I'm hurting, she'll take me back for sure
“Please be up. Please be up.”
“...mmph…Hello?”
“...H-Hi.”
“What is it?”
“...C-Can I come over?”
A heavy sigh. “No, Matt-”
“Please,” he interrupted her, afraid that if he didn’t she would hang up. “I miss you.”
“How much have you had to drink tonight?”
“I haven’t-”
“Goodnight, Matthew.”
“Fuck- fine, six,” he mumbled, sniffling sharply and rubbing the back of his neck anxiously. “I had six-”
“Six what, Matthew?”
“I…I-” he paused, sniffling again. “I miss you, can I come see you?”
“No, Matthew.”
“Stop it,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “Stop calling me that, you never call me that.”
“You need to get some rest. I’m calling Nick-”
“No, d-don’t go. Please.”
“Matt, you’re not taking care of yourself.”
“I just need to see you again,” he stated, sniffling again. “Please, I…I’ll leave you alone if you let me see you one more time.”
Another sigh. “How do you plan on getting here.”
“I’ll dr-”
“No you will not.”
His heart leaped. She still cares. She doesn’t want anything to happen to me. There’s still hope. “Uber?”
“Where are you right now.”
He looked around. “Outside.”
“Is there anything around you?”
“Trees?”
“Where are Nick and Chris.”
“Insid-”
“You make my blood boil,” she groaned.
“I’m sorry,” he hiccuped. “I miss you. I-I love you.”
“Stop.”
He sniffled again, a chill running through his body. He pulled his thin jacket tighter to his body. “Can I come see you?”
“Matthew, where are you.”
“I c-can get an uber, or I can walk. I don’t mind walking-” he whispered, his voice breaking again. He sniffled. “Please, I need you. I need to see you and hear you and..and feel you.”
“Matt, are you safe? Where are you. I need you to answer my questions.”
“I’m at home,” he mumbled.
“Where.”
“The driveway.”
“I will send you an uber, but this is the last time.”
Click.
X O X O X O
The knock at the door startled her, despite anticipating it at any moment. She got up from her spot on the couch, making a beeline for the door. She opened it and in stumbled a drunken Matt, who dropped to his knees in front of her, wrapping his arms gently around her thighs. He rested his cheek on the plush of her thigh.
She couldn’t bring herself to look at him. She would give in if she did. She could hear his soft sniffling and the sound of his lips leaving soft kisses to her thigh. “I’m s-sorry, please look at me. Please say something.”
“You can’t keep doing this, Matt. You have to let me go.”
He sniffled again. She felt the warm dampness of his tears on her skin. “I c-can’t.”
“You have to.”
“Please don’t make me,” he sobbed. She finally looked down at him, her heart aching at the sight of him clung to her legs, completely broken. “I need you, I can’t-”
“You need to find a way,” she insisted, reaching behind her to take Matt’s hands out of their interlocked state. He refused, holding her tighter. “Matt, you need to let me go.”
“You’re all I have,” he hiccuped, looking up at her with watery bloodshot eyes. His lip quivered, a tear rolled down his cheek. “I-I have nothing without you,” his voice croaked.
She sighed, sinking down onto the floor. She gently stroked his cheek, wiping the tears off of his face with her free hand. “Why do you do this to yourself?”
He sniffled. “I don’t want you to go, p-please,” he begged her. “Don’t leave me.”
“You know I can’t stay with you,” she whispered to him. “You do this to yourself every night. I’m so worried about you, Nick and Chris are worried about you.”
He looked at her, his face blotchy and red from crying. His eyes were even bluer than normal. “Y-You are?” he asked, leaning into her touch as she held his cheek.
“Matt, everyone’s worried about you,” she replied. “You have so many people that care about you, why are you torturing yourself like this? It kills me seeing you like this.” She brushed his messy hair out of his face, looking into his glossy eyes.
“Please- one more chance,” he pleaded, moving in close to her. He rested his forehead against hers, their noses gently brushing together. “One more…I can’t lose you. You’re the only person in this world that I want,” he continued.
“Matt…”
“You’re the only girl I want to wake up next to,” he whispered, his hand coming up to gently cup her cheek, his thumb delicately tracing her chin. His lips ghosted over hers. She could smell the alcohol on his breath. “You’re the only girl I wanna take out and show off, you’re the only girl I want to lay next to at night. I’ve never felt this way about anyone before,” he whispered, tears rolling down his cheeks. “I…I’m so fucking scared. I’ve never been this vulnerable and open with another person before,” a soft sob fell from his lips. He bumped his nose gently against hers, their lips grazing. “Tell me you don’t love me, and I’ll go away,” he stated.
“Matt-”
“Say it. I’ll never bother you again, I’ll never call or…or show up uninvited again. But you have to say it,” he whimpered, his eyes opening to look into hers. His free hand cupped her other cheek. “Please look at me,” he pleaded.
She pursed her lips, opening her eyes as well to look at him. As soon as she looked into his deep blue eyes, she felt herself melting. Matt’s gaze softened, noticing her more relaxed state. He leaned in to close the gap between them, only stopping when he felt her cold fingers touch his lips.
“You have to let me go, Matt,” she whispered again.
His lip quivered, a whimper getting caught in his throat, tears threatening to spill once again. “Say you don’t love me,” he repeated.
She stayed silent once again. She couldn’t say it. She knew deep down that she loved him, and that a part of her always would love him.
“I can get better, I can be better,” he continued, looking down at her with tearful eyes. “All I want is to be better for you-”
“You can’t go a single night without drinking yourself dumb,” she stopped him. “You can’t change, Matt. You’ve had the opportunities-”
Matt shook his head in disbelief. “Please, I-I know I can change-”
“You can’t.”
She went to stand back up, her heart shattering as he clung to her for dear life. “N-No, please,” he hiccuped, his fingers digging into her clothed hips. “Please,” he sobbed, looking up at her with his glassy blue eyes, his pupils blown out and bloodshot. “Don’t…Don’t push me away. Don’t push me out,” he whimpered.
She stood her ground, refusing to look down at his pathetic state. She refused to touch him, knowing if she did, she wouldn’t be able to let go of him. “I’m calling Nick.”
“I’m begging you-”
“I can’t let you stay again. I can’t keep letting you hurt me.”
Matt’s lips parted in disbelief, a stray tear rolling down his cheek and falling from his chin. “Hurt you?” His eyes glossed over with pain, one that he had never known before. “H-How…What do you mean?”
She pursed her lips, her eyes closing as she tried to think of the best way to word what she wanted to say. “You always do this, Matt. You come over, you do this every time. I always give in because-” a pause interrupted her sentence, her questioning if she should say it out loud or keep it a distant shout in the back of her head. “Because I love you, and…I can’t not love you.”
A glimmer of hope replaced the sorrow in his eyes. “I never stopped loving you,” he spoke, his voice wavering, his nerves shot from the lack of control he had over himself in this moment. He rose to his feet gracelessly. His hand felt cold as it touched her cheek, though the gentle caress of his fingers on her skin made her melt. “You’re all I’ve ever wanted. Let me show you, let me prove it to you.” He watched her face, examining any little change in her expression. Please don’t let me go. Please don’t push me away.
“I can’t go through this again, Matt,” she whispered, leaning into his touch. “You have to promise me-”
“I promise, I promise. Fuck, I swear on my life,” he enveloped her in his arms. “I promise,” he whispered, pressing a soft kiss to her head. He felt her arms snake around his waist, hugging him back, and he nearly collapsed as relief flooded his body. “I love you so much,” he mumbled softly into her hair, kissing her head again.
“We have to start slow,” she spoke softly, setting her boundaries. “I can’t jump right back in like none of this ever happened-”
“I know,” he replied. “I know, that’s fine, I’ll wait forever if I have to.”
“You’ve sobered up quite a bit,” she sniffled softly, and it was only then that Matt released his embrace, pulling away to look down at her. She looked up at him, smiling softly as a tear rolled down her cheek, glimmering in the moonlight.
His thumb brushed across her cheek, wiping the tear from her face. “Why are you crying?”
“I missed you, Matt,” she replied. It felt like a stake being driven into his heart, it stung. All of those nights of him wallowing in his own self pity, wasting away his potential, all of those nights thinking she loathed him, thinking he would never be able to feel happy again; It was all in his head. None of it was real. She never felt that way about him. She waited for him, she loved him through his mistakes, through his flaws, through his lowest moments. Nobody had ever been so loyal to him before, apart from his family. Nobody had ever waited to catch him when he fell.
“I missed you too.” More than you could ever know.

User management for customers and car washes.
Content management for wash packages and service descriptions.

Full-Stack Development for Your Car Wash App:
Creating a reliable on-demand car wash app needs a full-stack strategy. This involves:
Front-End Development: Creating an easy-to-use and intuitive interface for both clients and car wash vendors.

The wrap party had ended hours ago.
You could still taste the leftover lipstick on your wine glass, hear the thump of bass music in your ears, but the only thing that felt real was Tom’s hand clenched tight around yours, dragging you out of the Uber like a man on a mission. He didn’t say a word the whole ride home, just sat there with that muscle in his jaw twitching, eyes burning holes into the window.
The moment his front door slammed shut, his mouth was on yours.
“You really like kissing him, huh?” Tom growled, pressing you up against the wall of his flat. His voice was low, almost feral. “You’re so fucking good at it on camera.”
You gasped, still breathless from the intensity, heart hammering as you tried to follow what he was saying. “What, Harry? It’s my job, Tom.”
“I know it’s your job,” he muttered, mouth dragging down your neck, biting just hard enough to make you moan. “Doesn’t mean I like watching him put his hands on you. Doesn’t mean I like knowing he gets to kiss you while I sit in the fucking background in a fur cloak like some bloody prop.”
Your fingers clawed at the fabric of his t-shirt, yanking it upward, needing him naked. You were still in your dress from the party, the zipper digging into your spine. “I don’t like kissing him. He’s like, he’s my friend, Tom.”
He pulled back, eyes flashing. “You didn’t look like friends in today’s scene. You were straddling him. Moaning.”
“They told me to,” you panted, rocking your hips into him. You could already feel how hard he was through his jeans. “You know that.”
“Don’t care. My girl doesn’t moan for anyone but me.”
Then he picked you up like you weighed nothing, dress riding up as he carried you through his flat, familiar now, lived-in, his scent clinging to every cushion and hallway. You didn’t make it to the bedroom.
He tossed you onto the couch like he couldn’t bear to wait another second. You landed with a breathless laugh, and before you could move, he was on you, caging you in with his body.
“You didn’t even tell me you were gonna ride him like that,” he said, kneeling between your thighs, pushing the dress up. “You just show up on set and do it. Like it’s nothing.”
“Tom, baby, it’s acting.”
His hands slid up your legs, firm and possessive, hiking your dress higher until your panties were exposed. “You’re mine. And he doesn’t get to touch what’s mine.”
You gasped as he yanked your panties down in one swift motion, voice low and trembling. “Then show me, Tom.”
He growled, the sound vibrating in his chest. Then his mouth was on you, no preamble, no teasing. Tongue diving in like he needed to make you forget Harry Collett ever existed. Your hips bucked up, but his strong arms held you down, his tongue moving in long, relentless strokes as he devoured you with desperate hunger.
You were soaked, already aching from hours of filming, pretending to fall in love with someone else. But now, with Tom between your thighs, you were dizzy with the force of his jealousy and desire.
“Fuck, Tom, God, yes!”
He sucked on your clit, fingers sliding into you so deep you saw stars. He knew your body like it was scripted. Like he had memorized every gasp, every whimper.
“Think he could ever make you cum like this?” he muttered darkly, lips wet and glistening. “Think he even knows what you sound like when you fall apart?”
You were writhing, back arching off the couch. “No, only you, just you, please!”
He didn’t stop until you were shaking, until your thighs clamped around his head and your cries filled the room. You came hard, sobbing out his name, your entire body jolting under the weight of it.
But he wasn’t done.
Tom stood, tugging his shirt off, then unzipped his jeans with one hand while the other wrapped tight around your ankle, yanking you closer. His cock sprang free, thick, flushed, and already leaking. He didn’t even bother taking your dress off. Just shoved it up above your waist and lined himself up.
“Gonna remind you who you belong to,” he hissed. “Who really fucks you like a queen.”
And then he slammed into you.
You cried out, the stretch so sudden and perfect you couldn’t breathe. He set a brutal pace from the start, fast, punishing, hips snapping into you like every thrust was a message: mine, mine, mine.
You were still oversensitive from the orgasm, but that only made everything more intense. The couch creaked beneath you, the slap of skin on skin echoing through the room, your moans raw and needy.
His hand found your throat, not squeezing, just holding, claiming. “Say it.”
“Yours,” you whimpered. “I’m yours, Tom, always.”
“That’s fucking right,” he snarled, rutting into you so hard you saw white. “You’re not Harry’s. You’re mine. My girl. My girl who moans for me.”
Your second orgasm ripped through you without warning, your body clenching around him so tightly he groaned, throwing his head back.
“Fuck, oh God, you’re so, tight, Jesus.”
He didn’t last much longer after that. One more thrust and he was spilling into you, hips jerking, forehead pressed against yours, breath hot and heavy as he filled you completely.
Silence settled, broken only by the sound of your panting.
Then Tom collapsed onto the couch beside you, pulling you into his chest, hands shaking as he smoothed your hair.
“I’m sorry,” he murmured after a minute. “I just… watching you with him drives me fucking insane.”
You smiled, nuzzling into his neck, feeling the beat of his heart. “You don’t need to be jealous, baby. You’re the one I come home to.”
He kissed your forehead, then your cheek, then your lips, gentler now. Tender.
“Next season,” he said, “you’re not allowed to kiss anyone but me.”
You snorted. “You’re not even in half my scenes.”
“Then I’ll write myself in. Or marry you. Make it a plot point.”
You grinned. “Cregan Stark marries a southern girl and fucks her senseless on a bear rug?”
Tom chuckled, squeezing your waist. “Exactly.”
You pressed a kiss to his collarbone, tracing lazy circles on his chest. “If it gets me more nights like this, I’m all in.”

Personal Assistant-Part 1
Paring: Millionaire Reality Star!Bucky Barnes x F!Reader
This will be broken up into parts!
Part 1 | Part 2
You and bucky had been best friends since you could remember. After college you had lost contact until you started looking for a job. You wanted to get into acting so it wasn’t a surprise that you took a job offer from your new friend. The day of auditions you got the address from the friend. You weren’t prepared of the role you were applying for, so you dressed nice. You took an uber to the audition, you arrive at a mansion. You immediately are more nervous than before. You walk up to the door and knock gently. A man dressed in a suit answers the door. He asks if you are here for the audition. You nod, he smiles and takes you into the living room. He offers to get you a drink and you politely decline. A few minutes go by, and you get brought into a studio. You walk to the other side of the glass; you notice a ring that looked oddly familiar. The tell you that the role you are auditioning for is a personal assistant in a reality show. As you start to read the script you are interrupted by a familiar voice. As he walks into the room you make eye contact. James Barnes but this time he wasn’t a kid anymore. This time he was taller, stronger, and more handsome than you remember. He was wearing an expensive black suit with the sleeves cuffed up just enough to see a few veins in his arm. You swallowed hard at the sight of him, you could feel old feelings resurfacing. He doesn’t say anything to you, he just starts looking around. You realize he’s looking for the ring on the table of your side. You grab it and walk around the glass and ask him if it’s what he was looking for. His expression starts to soften but not before he realizes where his is. He coughs and takes it, “Thank you Ms-?” he looks at you waiting for a response. “F/N” you say looking at the ground. He sits on the couch spreading his legs. “Well, since I interrupted, I might as well watch your audition. Saves us time, I’m the one who calls the shots. If I don’t like it, you don’t get a call back” He grabs a notepad and pen, you walk back to the other side of the glass and read the scripts. At the end you see Bucky hand the producer the notepad. Buck starts to walk out, as he leaves you swear, he throws you a wink. “Y/n?” The producer says calling you into reality. “James wrote that he wanted you hired now”. You thank them. They say that you will be moving in until production ends. Explaining filming is in a week, they want the main cast to adjust. You nod and they escort you to a car. You arrive at your home and collect your things. You head back and they show you to your room. You gasp at the room’s size. After unpacking you decide to explore. As you walk out on your phone you bump into someone causing you to drop it. You quickly look up to see who it was. Bucky looks down at you with a smirk and pins you against the wall, before saying “Who’s so important you to not be paying attention?” You try to answer but the words seem not come out. He grabs your chin, “Are you planning on answering your new boss’s question doll or do you need a lesson of professionalism and manners?” Your face is beyond pink from blushing its practically red. “Boss? What does that mean? I was just having an argument and it got heated that’s all” you try to turn your head, but he holds it still. “You didn’t know that I’m the person you will be assisting in this show? Was it Steve?” he says the last part with a concern in his voice. “How did you remember? You didn’t even remember my name.” You say rolling your eyes. He smirks “How could I ever forget you doll? I just have a reputation to worry about now. I didn’t want it to seem like I gave you this position because you’re the cute girl I used to hang out with” As he says the last few words it feels like he breathed them into your ear sending a shiver down your spine. Before he releases you, he says “Don’t think I didn’t know about your crush doll.” He cockily grins at you then walks away leaving you lost for words. You hear him hum to himself “This’ll be fun”.
