#Undyne's Prejudice
Note
Define "racist"
Characterized by or showing prejudice, discrimination, or antagonism against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group... that sadly does describe how the monsters (especially Undyne) treat Frisk.

Welcome To The Lonertale Blog
Tumblr media
Lonertale is an Undertale alternate universe where the war between humans and monster is vaguely post-poned from ancient times to what appears to be a medieval-like era. Although the "Loner" prefix seems like an oxymoron, it implies the internal and/or external struggles of the AU's main characters.
Lonertale is a coming of age story among many of Undertale’s original characters in a different fashion. The audience follows the adventures of Asriel, Papyrus, Undyne, Alphys, and a skeleton-amalgamate, Hypergade, as they grow up preparing themselves for war that is soon to blossom. As situations grow dire, these young adults aim to find a last ditch effort for salvation before the humans succeed and destroy everything they aim to protect.

Content Warning
The story may include themes such as foul language, violence, death, and prejudice. The story takes place in a medieval-like time period. However, be mindful that there will be inconsistencies with some material (such as clothing and technological advancements) unrealistic to real-world history. This is meant to aid in telling the story that was imagined by the creator.

Notes about my character design: confessions, how and why Githyanki influences my work, personal experiences, silly ideas, My games, and more I guess
If you don't follow me and just found this I have something to say first: Be welcome, hope this text doest sound pretentious, I'm Vikintor, I made some obscure games (Teocida, Tamashii and Estigma), they're available on Steam and consoles as well.
You might notice that my "original" character designs are being heavily influenced by the Githyanki these days, especially their "classic" designs from Fiend Folio to "Rise of the Githyanki" published in Polyhedron and "Knights of the lich-Queen" in Dungeon Magazine, and of course, mixed a little with what I call "modern" design (I also like how the Githzerai give me Jedi vibes, yes, Jedi from Star Wars). The less human it looks while maintaining some human proportions, the better. And that's why I love the old "classic" alienish designs the most.
Tumblr media
Why D&D Gith's?
Confession time; I never really cared that much about Dungeons & Dragons before I discovered the Githyanki, and they're the only race in D&D that I actually care about, especially for the storytelling and roleplay possibilities based on their lore. As someone who favorite character designs ranges from D'vorah from Mortal Kombat, Undyne from Undertale, to Lilith from Diablo, liking the look of the classic Gith was easy for me, and boe they are rad.
Tumblr media
Quick context on who they are (you can skip if you know them or don't care):
Githianky are a D&D race know as humanoid creatures (mostly gray, green and yellow skin toned) with a rigid militaristic background. Raised to serve their Lich-Queen and destined to die for her (and by her, but some don't know that part). They were slaves of an illithid empire in the past and after being led to freendom by Gith (A woman named Gith, there's no Gith races before her), their race was splited in two; The Githyanki believes they are the real children of Gith and the Githzerai believes the Githyanki still slaves, not from illithid but the queen. plus: Githianky live in cities build on the corpses of fallen deities (that's metal).
Most of the Githyanki are considered evil, as some go on raid campaigns to steal from another planes (they love precious stones and gold, and they can be seem as pirates, but instead of ships they ride red dragons thanks to a pact made with Tiamat). Their complexity creates a bunch of What-If scenarios that I'm interested in: like; did you know that religion is forbidden to the Githyanki (Only Lich-Queen Clerics are permitted), but many of them secretly worship other gods. And how crime and punishment works on their society (kinda don't works at all, so a lot of them are afraid to look for justice), and how Githyanki monks exists in their society but faces prejudice (Githaynki monks are often seem as Githzerai spies), And you have stories about the Gith rebels that believes the Githyanki and Githzerai can be unified as only "children of Gith", as the same time their leader is way too controvertial and self-centered, and how some of these rebels befriend humans (which is a taboo), or how their society hates every non-Githyanki but are polite and refined among their own kind, which is often confusing and complex as they are known for their aggressive propaganda among themselves and how they kill each other during their insane militaristic raising. They also often do parties, play and write songs and have fun, there's also half-Githyanki/half-dragons superwarriors created in a secret experiment led by the Lich-queen (those don't care about the Githyanki society and aren't friendly to them), and them you still have the Githzerai (neutral Gith monks that despise the Lich-Queen and have their own society and traditions) and the Githvy (rogue Gith's that aren't Githyanki or Githzeray, who often tries to live among other races).
Ahh?
Of course I don't know everything about them and maybe there is some misinterpretation on my part, some of the content was created over the years and unfortunately most of it was never published or translated into my idiom, so I have to translate it myself, but I'm not writing this to convince people to like them as much as I do. I'm sharing this to bring out what and how it inspired me.
So, what this have to do with me?
As someone who likes weird ambiguous characters and enjoys fantasizing with what-if scenarios; discovering that lore on D&D made me realize how much prejudice I had with D&D. If you say to me "This rpg race is totally evil or totally good" I can only answer: "Impossible. Individual characters are more complex than that, I want to explore the exceptions". If all are evil, I want some trying to discover what means to be good, and want some to fail miserable, and want some to learn something from that experience, if they're all serious, I want some to be silly and weird.
I'm far from a real writer (whatever that means), but I like fantasizing about atypical situations and writing about them, which is why I wrote neutral demon-like creatures for Tamashii and Teocida in the first place, even when I still lacked more maturity for that. I'm also interested in these exceptions in rpg lore and improving those aspects as I write about them, which is why D&D Githyanki inspired my current design.
But how it inspired me:
Just like many fantasy stories were created during sessions of tabletop RPG campaigns, I became interested in Gith-exclusive games thanks to discovering content like Fiend Folio and "Rise of the Githyanki" and "Knights of the Lich-Queen" (both Gith centred games focused on Gith players, with few exceptions), which is why I became way more obsessed with them. And damm, a videogame like BG3 having Githianky as a playable race is everything I hoped for (I'm not interested in BG4 if there's not a single playable Gith race. I just want to keep creating weird Gith girl characters and make them break things and form a band named Githgang), but I'm not here to talk about BG3, sorry.
So Gith's was my first inspiration to write my own RPG races with their own language, traditions, dogma, taboos, and designs. I think about how something like this could happen in the universe I've been working on since Tamashii. But I'm not going for something complex, but rather thinking about characters that I would create for my Gith campaigns could be another type of character if I create them in another position, another world with different laws, instead of just roleplaying as Githanky forever.
As I can't write Githyanki characters without it being some sort of fanfic (my fault for not going for something more common like wizards, orcs and gnomes), I still at least being inspired by them.
After reading a bunch to roleplay as Gith characters or just to fantasize about it, their personalities, and how they react to the world still something that is organically created while I'm assuming that character and playing around, this doesn't need to be bound to a specific lore. I'm being redundant at this point, but you get the idea, that's how the brazilian character Ozob was created in the 90's (He was a character created during a Cyberpunk tabletop RPG session, and then became an original character with books and merchandize in Brazil until CD Projekt Red got the rights to put him in the Cyberpunk 2077 for real)
Therefore, I can say that part of what may come in the future is the result of my experiences and inspirations with D&D mixed with all my other inspirations, such as H.R Giger, biomechanical horror, Screaming Mad George's style body horror, esoteric/exoteric references, industrial music and atmospheric, creepypasta, etc. It might be weird, or not, maybe a little silly or edgy as always, but I don't know what to do besides accepting the results, keep moving forward, and have fun in the process.
The first character as an Avatar:
"Astral of Latanael" still a working name for the first character I made inspired by Gith. The draft for her is: She is a Mhold'eze, a zombie-like servant bonded to her preceptor, a necromancer who serves as her mentor. Mhold'ezes inherit part of their master's powers and are often used as an extension of their master's will where they cannot be present, always receiving an important task, or mission as soon as they are born (like Feucirl and Pleroma of Teocida, except that Pleroma is not a necromancer). This is the first draft of the original character that I'm using as an avatar, but I do plan to work more on this silly lady and Latanael (her Necromancer) to include them in my game, or games, or more than that. It depends of what I decided.
Ok, just a quick look on how Astral looks right now, before I made more changes.
Congrats if you read until here, I'm surprised if you really read more than 1500 words of some weird dude talking about why silly D&D "pirates" inspired him to keep creating more silly weird angry girl characters.

Mettaton originally appears as a gray, largely rectangular box with a 4x5 grid of rectangular lights at the top, similar to the mechanism in Snowdin Forest used for Papyrus's Tile Puzzle. The grid of lights can change colors between red, yellow, green, and blue, and Mettaton uses these color changes in place of facial expressions. He has four dials along the bottom of his body, and the bottom, he has a single leg which ends in a wheel. He has two segmented robotic arms which end in white gloves.
After having the switch on his back flipped in the Neutral or True Pacifist Route, Mettaton transforms into Mettaton EX; a new body he specially requested Alphys make for him. In this humanoid form, he has black hair with a long fringe that seems to cover his right eye, pale "skin" and visible metal segments below and above his left eye.
He has a pink chest piece, a narrow metallic waist with a box contraption, and black shoulder pads above his segmented arms, which end in gloves. The chest piece has what appear to be a speaker and some knob or gauge, while the waist has two parts that seem to act as a locking mechanism that holds his "heart-shaped core," as they both lose white pixels during his "heart-to-heart" attack. His long black-clad legs end in pink high-heeled boots.
After being confronted by the protagonist on the Genocide Route, Mettaton transforms into Mettaton NEO, which resembles Mettaton EX, but has a more combat-oriented design, however Mettaton NEO can be killed by a single attack and has no attacks of his own.
His right forearm is replaced by what appears to be a cannon, pauldrons clad his shoulders, which are shaped like legs and are longer than his arms, and he has wings on his back. The soul on his waist points upwards in a more monster-like manner, and he has a heart shape engraved on his chest plate like Undyne the Undying, also mimicking the Delta Rune in the same ways. His hair on the right side is spiked out, revealing an entirely black segment of his face, with a sparkle or crosshair in place of his right eye.
Mettaton is a confident, charismatic, and charming TV host that loves drama, action, and violence. He lives for his ratings and adores performing. He supposedly strikes a pose when he does something wrong and makes time on his various shows to beat up "heel-turning villains." He shows a rather shallow appreciation for existence at times. He has a strong craving for attention and seems very egotistical, shown when he boasts about the beauty of his true form. However, despite his seemingly self-centered personality, he deeply cares about the seemingly positive impact his show has had on the inhabitants of the Underground. He has also shown soft spots for several characters, such as Alphys and Napstablook. He also appears to be among the fewer characters in the Underground that has no hate or prejudice against humans despite knowing about the monsters' history with them, since his initial attempts to kill the protagonist were just him playing along with Alphys's plan, and he outright tells the protagonist he has no desire to hurt humans and is far more interested in simply entertaining. While he did attempt to kill the protagonist, it was to prevent Asgore from taking their SOUL and be seen as a hero/savior to humankind, further emphasizing his lack of prejudice. On the flip side, he has also been noted to be a very demanding boss who is very unpleasant to work for, especially according to Burgerpants, who initially considered working for him a dream, but has since grown to strongly despise him.
Donut appears to be an unglazed, plain doughnut. His main body/pastry part is a light beige-apricot color. His shape also allows him to resemble the number 0, which gives him the ability to be multiplied by Four (a.k.a, having Four's liquefied body replace his filling).
He is filled with cherry jam filling that was first seen in "Get in the Van" when his cut-up remains were used during Cake at Stake. According to Ruby, it resembles blood, and tastes good. His hole functions as his mouth, and rapidly contracts and changes shape to process words. Although his voice normally sounds airy and dry, his voice becomes very strained when he is stressed.
In "Balancing P.A.C.T.", Yellow Face takes his arms, making him armless and look very similar to his appearance in "The Reveal".
In his early appearances, Donut was somewhat rude and irritable in BFDIA, and as he was eliminated first, not much of his personality is shown. He did not get along very well with any of the other contestants, like Coiny or Pencil.
However, in Battle for BFDI, Donut is more considerate and thoughtful of other contestants, especially his teammates. He has been seen getting along with Bottle, looking out for Bomby, calling Gelatin his "brother", attempting to inspire and rally his teammates to win a challenge, telling X that he was a good host, defending Bell when everyone was climbing her string, and sacrificing himself to save Spongy from lava. He believes everyone should be treated with respect and not as objects.
Generally, Donut is a rational person, similar to his teammate, Barf Bag. However, when provoked, he easily becomes emotional and angry, and usually resorts to yelling, with his interactions with Gelatin and wanting to blow up Bomby as examples, but in some ways, Donut can be nice to others.
However, this changes after he absorbs Four in "Four Goes Too Far" and becomes the host. He becomes more rude and arrogant to the other contestants and finds happiness in rubbing failure in the face of others. For instance, he mocked Loser at his elimination, which is something no other object would do. He was also shown to be somewhat biased towards his team in "Questions Answered". However, after he resigned as host and gave the position to X, Donut returned to form and became nicer when his sense of power was removed.
>:3 ( Thank god for the wiki, then again I could have probably written out a whole thing myself )

What if the UT Monsters were still racist with humans, even after the Pacifist Ending and Frisk was sick of it?…
Papyrus: That went so fast, we didn’t get a chance to mention you, or say anything about how we-
Frisk: Oh, I think all of you said plenty.
Sans: What do you mean?
Frisk: “Clearly there’s a biological component”? “That some humans may be reverting back to their primitive, savage ways”? Are you serious?
Undyne: We just stated the facts of history. I mean, it’s not like a monster could get as crazy and savage as that.
Frisk: Right. But someone like me could, huh?
Mettaton: Frisk, stop it! You’re not like them.
Frisk: Oh, there’s a them now?!
Alphys: What Mettaton means is, you’re not that kind of human.
Frisk: The kind that needs to have their souls contained in jars?
(The monsters flinch at this.)
The kind that makes you think you need to intimidate, attack or destroy?
(Frisk glares harder.)
Or the kind you need to carry a taser in your lab coat? Yeah, don’t think I didn’t notice that little item the first time we met, Alphys!
(Alphys looks guilty.)
Frisk: So l-let me ask all of you a question: are you afraid of me?
[The monsters stare at Frisk in disbelief and fear.]
Frisk: Do you think I might go nuts? Think I might go savage? You think that I might try to… ATTACK YOU?!
[Undyne summons her spears, Mettaton charges his hands with electricity, Alphys reveals her taser, and the Skeleton Brothers summon their bones.]
Frisk: I knew it… Just when I thought somebody actually believed in me, huh?… Probably best if you don’t have a human as a part of your family.
(Later…)
Mettaton: Wait, listen! I… I know you’ll never forgive us. And I don’t blame you. I wouldn’t forgive us either.
Sans: We’ve had very thick skulls… and we’re sorry.
Frisk: …
Undyne: We were ignorant and irresponsible and small-minded. But both humans and monsters shouldn’t suffer because of our mistakes.
Alphys: We have to fix this, but we can’t do it without you.
Papyrus: And after we’re done… you can hate us. And– [he starts crying; voice breaking] And that’ll be fine, because we were all horrible friends, and we hurt you, and you– And you can walk away knowing that you were right all along. I really am just a dumb bonehead.
[Papyrus continues crying, until Frisk replays his words with a recorder.]
Papyrus: [through recorder] I really am just a dumb bonehead. [rewind] I really am just a dumb bonehead.
Frisk: [turns around and smiles] Don’t worry, Bonehead. I’ll let you erase it… in 48 hours.
[Papyrus tears up with joy; he wipes away his tears as the group slowly walks slowly towards Frisk]
Frisk: All right, get in here.
[The group all hug Frisk, Papyrus still sobbing; Frisk embraces them all back]
Frisk: OK. Oh, you monsters. You’re so emotional. There we go, deep breath… You are standing on my feet though…
Papyrus: Oh! I’m sorry!
---
Exactly! I’d especially want to see them all have to process the fact that they’re all assholes & their thinking is super backward. Individually & in their own ways. I get the feeling that Sans & Undyne would be the most stubborn & take not only the longest, but the most extreme route to realization of their own prejudices.
Also, realizing that even the humans who sealed them away weren’t as bad as they think they were. Think about it. The monsters were defeated & rounded up in such a way that they were all imprisoned in one spot.
If those humans were as evil & merciless as they were described, then why didn’t they just kill all the monsters outright?
I’ve probably said this before & sound like a broken record, but I feel like it’s worth saying again.

𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙨 ——————-
(Aka Silver)
——
Silver, the older skeleton of two famous brothers. He had taken up a high position in the royal guard, formally, having been drafted for the war; officially joining for some personal grudges of his own.
It was not a war neither him or his brother wanted to fight in. Unfortunately, as the king said. “There are thousands of us, and millions of them.” And with his best efforts he marched into war alongside his brother.
He holds a heavy prejudice against all. Humans.
𝙈𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙝𝙞𝙢 𝙞𝙣 𝘽𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚: ——————-
Age: 29
Height: 5”2
65 ATK
30 DEF
0.5/1 HP
——————-
“The easiest enemy-“
He suffers with survivors guilt and PTSD.
Often always on alert. He’s not quick to just trust anyone and finds sneaky ways to discover ulterior motives, he’s quite sly and slippery and when he’s not advising he’s often sent out as a spy. He’s a silent observer and tries to remain as neutral as possible when it comes to internal conflicts of the underground.
He still is playful with his fellow guards, and enjoys a pun or two. He serves as the informant, strategist and advisor to the Royal Guard Captain, Undyne. One rank below her. Often handles last line of defenses due to his HP. Often times he’ll try to convince Undyne to take a break, and often times he’s met with no. He is still quite lazy on the job a lot, leaving Buffet and Asgore to scold him. And despite being a Royal guard and being professionally trained his stamina is still severely low and he is not the greatest fighter. In fact he’s much weaker in comparison to his other guards. But he does have a few unique attacks of his own compared to other classic sans.
He got fatally injured in the war, through uncertain circumstances his soul refused to die.
He doesent baby Papyrus, he admires and sees his individual strength depsite his disability and allows him to handle his own issues and puts faith into his decisions.
Because Toriel is dead in this Au, Papyrus is the one he makes the promise to, to protect the human.
Despite being a part of the Royal guard he is notorious for slacking on duty, or causing mischief for pranking the other guards. When he’s not working he’s sleeping at a station, where is always a various location.
He does not hate or like Asgore. His feelings are better described as respect cause of his role but it was never earned through what he’s done. He remains with a strong neutral opinion on the king.
Black is the guards uniform color in respects to all the losses of the war, also because of the constant ceremonies and funerals. Idealistically it is not a permanent color sheme. But there are a few other constant details in all the uniforms, which is often a vest of some kind or form and often a long cape in back often with the Royal Deltarune on it.
The use of silver Deltarune crests are a Royal Guard uniform standard and the use of Gold Deltarune crests are a Royal scientist uniform standard.
This is roughly the idea of the guards uniform not the actual armor they all wear. They differ depending on the guard, as they are all specially tailored to their proportions.
His birthday is on November 11th! 🎉
——————-
(FYI- this is nothing but a design showcase, not an actual character sheet which I will get around to making at some point for all my characters, I just want to get a good strong general idea first before tearing the layers apart ;P ⭐️✨✨)

UF Papyrus prompts cont.
• [🐺] does your muse have trouble relying on others? why or why not?
Yes. Somewhat mentioned previously. But to sum it up, he takes way too much responsibility for…everything, and it leads to him feeling like he needs to be the one others rely on, always.
• [👶] is your muse good with kids, or do they prefer to avoid them?
Both lol But really, he’s actually surprisingly good with kids! Despite this, they make him anxious, and he feels very awkward around them, so he generally tries to avoid them for the most part (though he does have a soft spot for them regardless).
• [🍔] what is your muse’s favourite food? is there a reason why they like it so much?
Oatmeal with cinnamon and a little honey =o) Partly it’s just because it’s good and partly because he has Food Problems sometimes but he can almost always have a little oatmeal (and keep it down, too). No nostalgic reasons at all of course. None at all.
• [🏳️‍🌈] how does your muse’s sexuality and gender identity impact their life? do you have any specific headcanons about it?
Not a lot tbh. I kinda hc monsters in general are a lot more laid back/don’t care about that sort of thing, so it probably never impacted his life at all underground. Above ground, well, he might face some prejudice for that stuff, but he’d likely face more just from being a monster at all.
One random hc specifically is that, when they still could, Undyne and Papyrus shared clothes sometimes, since both of them have similar tastes anyway.
• [⚖️] how does your muse feel about their job? what’s their dream career?
He never really had a dream career honestly, at least not one he wanted because he likes it. Going back to that whole responsibility thing, the “jobs” he strives for are whatever best allow him to protect himself, his brother, and eventually, monsterkind in general. I wouldn’t say he enjoys it, but he takes a lot of pride in working with the embassy, and it’s actually pretty good for him to feel like he’s genuinely making a difference (and he is!).

Asked AI to re-write Glitch-tale Season 1 Episode 2 and continue on the story that it originally wrote
----------------------------------------------------------------‐------
Continuing the story from where we left off, Frisk and her allies find themselves basking in the hard-earned victory over Betty Noire. The Underground begins to rebuild, and the fractured relationships between humans and monsters slowly mend.
However, just as they start to believe that peace has finally been restored, a new threat emerges from the shadows. A group of humans, fueled by fear and prejudice, begins to rally against the monsters, blaming them for the chaos caused by the glitches.
Frisk understands that maintaining peace is a delicate task, and she refuses to let the hard-fought progress be undone. With Sans by her side, she sets out to bridge the gap between humans and monsters, seeking understanding and empathy.
Their journey takes them to the heart of Ebott City, where they confront the leaders of the human opposition. Through heartfelt discussions and undeniable proof of their peaceful intentions, Frisk and Sans slowly chip away at the walls of hatred and mistrust.
Meanwhile, the remnants of Betty Noire's influence begin to resurface. The glitches, once thought to be vanquished, return with a vengeance. It becomes evident that Betty had left a lingering mark on the timeline, one that cannot be easily erased.
Frisk realizes that they must delve deeper into the mysteries of the glitches and find a way to eradicate them once and for all. With the help of Alphys, Undyne, Papyrus, and Toriel, they embark on a perilous quest to uncover the secrets behind Betty's power and put an end to her reign of chaos.
As they journey through the Underground, facing dangerous adversaries and solving intricate puzzles, their bonds grow stronger. Frisk learns to harness the strength within her, not just as a vessel for Chara but as an individual with her own will and determination.
Together, they navigate treacherous timelines and unravel the truth about Betty's origins. They discover that she was born from the darkest parts of the glitches, a manifestation of the chaos they caused. To defeat her, they must confront the very nature of the glitches themselves.
In an epic battle that tests their resolve and unity, Frisk and her allies face off against Betty Noire once more. With their combined strength and the power of their friendship, they manage to weaken Betty, stripping her of the remnants of her power.
But before Betty can be fully vanquished, she reveals a startling revelation. The glitches were not just a product of her existence; they were a symptom of a larger problem lurking within the fabric of the timelines.
Frisk is left with a newfound purpose, determined to uncover the true source of the glitches and restore balance to the world. With the support of her friends, she embarks on a quest that will take her to the very core of the timeline, a place where the past, present, and future converge.
As the journey continues, Frisk's resolve is tested like never before. She faces unimaginable challenges and confronts her own inner demons. But with the unwavering support of Sans and her friends, she finds the strength to persevere.
The story of Glitchtale Season 1 Episode 2 explores themes of prejudice, forgiveness, and the complexities of maintaining peace. As Frisk and her allies delve deeper into the mysteries of the timeline, they discover that the glitches are not just a random occurrence but a symptom of a deeper imbalance that threatens their world.
Their journey becomes a race against time as they strive to restore harmony before the timeline collapses under the weight of its own instability. It is a battle not just against external forces but also against the doubts and fears that reside within themselves.
As they draw closer to the truth, Frisk realizes that her role in this world is greater than she ever imagined. She must not only save the Underground but also become a beacon of hope for both humans and monsters, proving that unity and understanding can triumph over hatred and fear.
And so, the stage is set for the next chapter in the Glitchtale saga, where Frisk and her allies will face their greatest challenges yet, in a battle that will test their courage, resilience, and the power of friendship.

Story: To avoid mass extinction, monsters retreated to hide in an underground tunnel system, afraid to leave, the king and queen keeping this enforced for years. Asriel, unlike other monsters, wishes to go outside...so one night, he ventures outside, and while adventuring, he stole food in a whim, getting spotted by Chara, but the prince runs away when they call to him, and they end up falling back inside the tunnels. But when Chara catches up, Asgore interferes, Asriel afraid, crying, hugging Toriel, Chara is kept as a prisoner, being interrogated, determining they are fully alone. Asriel slowly feels bad, growing empathy for this human, so he gives Chara his chocolate, and slowly they became friends. Despite prejudice from most monsters, Toriel and Asgore slowly warm up to Chara as well. They later on accidentally give Toriel a poisonous buttercup pie, their servants find this out, and take this as a threat, and accuse Chara of treason, and the population basically tries to hunt down the human, Asriel and his parents trying to find them through the confusion. Chara ends up making their way to the surface, and a few monsters follow, then killing Chara; in front of a human settlement. So by the time Asriel arrives, it's chaos, and he ends up slaughtered in the midst of it because he tried to see Chara's body- absorbing their soul, which keeps him alive long enough to run away, and fight back until Chara's screaming in panic stops him, and he's beaten further, and the same deal is he makes it to his parents, dying before he can explain. Everyone's heartbroken, but Toriel takes action, and she rationally decides to declare they no longer will live underground, and will instead negotiate with humans to live above ground. Despite her explanation, monsters riot, and it comes down to Asgore angrily shit talks Toriel, saying she's a coward for not declaring to seek justice, and leaves. He eventually calms down and wallows in grief, afraid to go and apologize to her. Likely bitter over stuff, he becomes passive aggressive, untrusting. Almost hands off parallel to Toriel being smothering. Though he can slowly open up if he sees a human spare. He spares a few humans, kills some others. Toriel, a queen only by title, overall a laughingstock, she stopped dressing herself off as a queen due to lack of motivation and overall reputation, never sees humans make it due to Asgore or someone else killing them. She can be often seen talking with Chara and Asriel's plushies, her medication makes her sleep deprived and as a result her cooking becomes worse and worse. Undyne, (self proclaimed "human killing specialist") an engineer, builds Alphys's armor and weapons. They're a will-they won't-they. She also builds human killing weapons with way too much functions, and keeps maintenance on The Dam (a huge collaboration between monsters, at least partially led by a certain man who made secret functions for it, who ended up quitting due to no real credit, and becomes the uber driver guy; river person was the more known head with credit. Rather then becoming spread across time, they are just a very quiet celebrity who has fans who act like they know where they went.) Undyne, to save fallen down monsters, does what Alphys did, thinking it'd create perfect soldiers. She ends up trying to find other uses for them, and due to them being unkillable as amalgamates, she ends up telling people what happened, and keeps them in certain areas of a factory, and used for purposes that are smart, but ultimately they're suffering. Alphys, pretty decent outside of work, she's considered a commander of the royal guard, a head strategist. She (and Undyne) still like anime. Her stalking is rather interrupted by fuckups due to her not being used to the armor given to her by the fish scientist as a gift. She fights you in fancy mech armor but gets confused often, and that leads to a chase. She ends up getting blown up by water leaking related malfunctions, and lands head in the ground, but you can choose to help her. Napstablook and Happstablook end up sharing one robot body, with Happsta being the voice especially with singing and acting while Napsta is the body, responsible for creating music and other stuff.  Due to being one of Undynes oldest friends, Undyne made their body made as a favor, albeit is unintentionally a human hazard due to Undynes aforementioned habit of human killing machine buildings, now they are Mr. Sunōbōru (basically how you pronounce "snowball" in japanese, yes this was Alphys and Undyne's idea) being a known figure in the underground. They have many functions, including turning their body into a ball to roll around, which is both useful for transportation and in battle.
Papyrus wanted to join the guard, but due to Alphys basically just letting him in, he flunked his training due to it not being quite as physical. He ends up trying to "correct" sans on his lack of proper presentation, living vicariously through him. He mostly just makes puzzles and compensate for his failure, kinda puts pressure and higher expectations. He sometimes hear crying towards the ruins, but never gets to the person in time. (Papyrus uses river person's bootleg blasters.)
For Sans. He passed the test. He got in..he's smart. It pays well. He also goes along with Papyrus's "teachings" out of sympathy, but he can't take it super seriously so he's constantly asking for a line, probably slips a lot. Acts normal on his own. Fights not out of a promise, but commitment and moral to his job and Papyrus. (Probably has gaster blaster prototypes.) Chara somehow comes back as a phantom. They never moved on. So they came back. They have nothing left. Once they find Toriel, the queen immediately panics, being forced into a clinic for some time and tried to accept it as a hallucination and move on. So they leave to try with Asgore, him thinking similar, and runs away. they rename themselves based on what you're named. They basically just hunt you down out of generalized revenge on Asriel's death and stuff, providing no tutorial. Oh look a funny flower, i wonder what this means.  Frisk is just Frisk...they just ended up there, nothing special. Mad Dummy is literally shorter than Sans, and many people in the ruins make fun of their size. This angry ghost only fights you because you ignored them, just like Undertale. Extras: I was too lazy to make Muffet, Grillby and all the others cuz they're not essential to the main plot anyways. Muffet's place is very expensive, only Papyrus goes there for it's high quality bakery, everyone dislikes her absurd prices. Grillby has a small pub, the only reason you would fight him is because you probably broke something...therefore you must pay for it. Entry 17 is just River Person doing the jackass intro, throwing themselves onto a flight of stairs and then immediatelly screaming in immense pain afterwards. Annoying dog? OH, you must be talking about the SERIAL KILLER OCTOPUS, it just goes around stabbing people to death, just like the british, and being a nuisance to the royal guard and all innocent bystanders, you'll probably see many wanted posters of this creature around the underground. There is no special artifact, you just get stabbed multiple times by the octopus when you open the chest then it runs away with loud table hitting noises like Sr.Pelo's animations.

Undyne’s Prejudice (Part 3)
Undyne’s Prejudice (Part 3): Undyne's Improvement
Tumblr media
Author Patreon - Author Ko-Fi
"So," the reader may be wondering, "Undyne is prejudiced. But surely she's less prejudiced by the end of the game?" While just the hangout seems to lower her anti-human prejudice, it surely doesn’t remove it completely.
At the beginning, she has a few "cracks" in her persistent, severe prejudice. She has a crush on the human-loving Alphys, and enjoys human "history" (manga and anime). Believing anime is real, she thinks humans are “cool” with their “giant robots and flowery swordswomen”. Yet, evidently this is a theoretical admiration; seeing Frisk, she compares them unfavorably to the humans in Alphys’ media, justifying her hatred. Without the hangout, she fares poorly from the loss of her Royal Guard job and wants revenge on even a pacifist Frisk.
While Frisk’s kindness in reviving her doesn’t make her change her mind, Frisk hanging out with her does. She’s initially hostile, no matter the options chosen. However, Papyrus uses a clever bit of psychology. By framing befriending Frisk as a challenge, he sets Undyne's honor and inability to resist a challenge against her prejudice, tricking her into befriending someone she repeatedly tried to kill.
Bizarrely, if Frisk chooses the "incorrect" options, her desire for (retributive) justice manifests as a desire for revenge. For "the perfect revenge", she considers making Frisk enamored with her in the process of becoming "besties". (Despite the fact she didn't befriend Papyrus out of revenge...)
Tumblr media
Yet, whether Undyne's improvement sticks or whether she improves more depends on the ending. In the best Neutral ending, in which Undyne was befriended, the Royal Guard is disbanded. Undyne is no longer captain; in fact, she says she "quit her job" (as compared to the less voluntary-sounding "I have a new job now" or "I lost my job”). She doesn't seem unhappy about this. She talks happily about her new job assisting Alphys and being a gym teacher for Toriel's school, and she’s more sympathetic to Frisk about Asgore's death.1
In a variation of that ending where Frisk killed fewer than ten monsters (with or without befriending Undyne), Undyne fares worse. The royal guard is disbanded, and while Papyrus says he has "no idea what to do with [his] life", he says Undyne's "the one that's got it bad". She lost her job and her house, and he and Sans take care of her in a "sleepover there's no escape from". She works at Sans' illegal hot dog stand, and hates her job. Undyne blames Frisk for Asgore's death, and often talks to Papyrus about an unlikely plan to cross the barrier and get revenge on Frisk by beating them up.
If the protagonist killed at least ten monsters after Undyne (Undyne cannot be befriended if monsters are killed first), Undyne hates Frisk even more. She feels hurt, betrayed, and angry at herself for befriending Frisk, when Frisk killed monsters later. Papyrus cannot understate how much Undyne hates Frisk, to the point of warning Frisk never to come back.
Other endings are, of course, even worse for her. In one ending she becomes empress of the Underground, creating a military dictatorship and being determined to kill off humanity.
It's obvious only a situation where Frisk doesn't kill anyone and befriends Undyne lowers her anti-human prejudice, though it's unclear by just how much.
That Improvement is Relative
Tumblr media
While Undyne’s prejudice does lessen over a Family Ending (best Neutral ending) or a Post-Pacifist ending, it’s likely she still has some prejudice.
One should compare her to Toriel, Asgore, and Papyrus. Given Asgore lived and likely ruled through a war that killed off most monsters and sealed the rest underground, one might expect him to be prejudiced against humans. Yet, he raised Chara as he would his own child, as did Toriel. While Undyne is angry at humanity for their crimes, Toriel suffered the same fate, and yet took care of several humans over many years.
Papyrus changes his mind about humans rather quickly compared to Undyne. His plan to gain prestige, power, and popularity by joining the Royal Guard depends on capturing a human. Upon seeing Frisk likes puzzles and pasta, he quickly wants to be their friend. When he notices Frisk's interest in puzzles and pasta, he wants to be their friend. Though he dismisses the idea to fight, during the fight he changes his mind: he apparently figured out his plan depended on killing Frisk, or only then did his plan stop being an abstraction. Though he knows the benefits of killing humans, he wants Frisk to stay alive so they can be friends.
It’s possible he changed his mind so fast because his self-concept is malleable (that is, fragile: he lies to Undyne about loving grease), or his goals are so broad they can be achieved in different ways. He doesn’t have as much of a stake in the belief “humans are evil and should die”. In fact, he does what he can to prevent Undyne from killing Frisk without outright lying to her.
Undyne’s beliefs don’t change just by seeing Frisk is nice and pacifistic. Even later, her beliefs don’t change as much.
At first, she doesn’t predict Asgore will try to kill Frisk, despite being such a “fluffy pushover”, because of the war’s popularity. She doesn’t question the morality of the war with humanity. In fact, she’s willing to wait until a “mean human” falls down, and kill them instead. Even by the end of the hangout, she threatens Frisk: not only can she not figure out that Frisk and Asgore may have good reason to fight, but she also says that if Frisk fights Asgore, she’ll absorb some souls, cross the barrier, and kill Frisk herself.
Part 1 → Part 2 → Part 3 (here)
If the Neutral Run is started a second time, Flowey won't kill Asgore after he's defeated. Instead, he will sacrifice himself in his despair so Frisk can pass through the barrier. Undyne excuses Frisk with "you were just doing what you had to" and "it's not your fault he [died]", but it's unclear whether she meant "go past Asgore to the barrier" or "kill Asgore". Undyne would surely cut Frisk some moral slack if she learned (through Flowey) that Asgore killed himself so Frisk could go home, rather than Frisk murdering him. ↩︎

UT - Wrong Turn
Summary: When Frisk agreed to be the ambassador, they had been filled with determination, confidence…blind conceit. They truly thought they could take on the world.
No one on the Surface would listen to a child bargain for the fate of an entire alien people. The monsters were not welcome.
Where had it all gone wrong? Somewhere along the line in these shockingly tragic months, Frisk said the wrong thing, or said too much, or didn’t say enough. When they agreed to be the ambassador, they had been filled with determination. It had given them confidence…blind conceit. They truly thought they could take on the world.
No one on the Surface would listen to a child bargain for the fate of an entire alien people. Frisk’s voice was drowned out by prejudice and outrage and senselessness. The monsters were not welcome.
Asgore was gunned down at what was meant to be a peace rally. Healing magic couldn’t retrace or retract so many bullets. Undyne was beaten to death in the grisly chaos that followed, though she took a dozen or more down with her. Countless others were injured.
Toriel seemed to find a place of understanding then; her eyes were opened to all the reasons Asgore had dithered in the Underground for so long rather than break the barrier to fight this losing battle alone. The realization that she was the last survivor of her clan served to numb her. She moved about the house in something of a daze, keeping the curtains drawn. She was all too familiar with hiding herself away.
Almost three weeks after Undyne’s death, Alphys deactivated her social medias, packed a small bag, and disappeared into the falling dusk. Mettaton pinged her phone in vain, led to find it under papers in a nightstand drawer. No one wanted to say it aloud; they didn’t need to. The rest of her things were left untouched. By some accounts, Mettaton intended to preserve them on display or something.
What could Frisk say anymore? What could they do?
“You already know what to do, kid,” Sans said lowly, the day after Papyrus tried to reason with the mob throwing bricks and stones through their windows. “And do it better. Do it right.” Still Frisk wavered, earning a grating laugh from the Judge as he slumped against the back wall. “Or don’t. Whatever you decide to do with us next go-round, facing just one of you is better than any of this.”

OathKeeper Papyrus: What would it take for Sans’ beliefs to be utterly shattered in a single fell swoop?… Would be that Papyrus DISOWNS him as a brother on the spot, when Papyrus finds out about the Amalgamates + that Sans as well as Alphys had extracted the determination of the other human souls, which was basically torturing them?… How would Sans feel about being disowned?… Would Undyne disown Alphys as a friend as well?… Would Undyne also finally apologize to Frisk? 💀🦎🐟
I actually don't know. This is just how I see it. I'll have to think on it.
Edit: Okay, I've got some ideas now.
First off, I actually don't see Undyne disowning Alphys as a friend here. If nothing else, she is very, extremely ride or die for her friends
So, I can't imagine her being any less so for those she crushes on.
At the same time, until she's fully accepted the fact that humans are just people & that it isn't okay to wish literal genocide upon them, then I really don't see her caring much about what happened to the humans... unless it was revealed that even in death, the human soul maintained sentience & that Alphys doing those things to them was essentially torture.
Like, there's bigotry & then there's being sociopathic. I mean, if that still didn't shake her, then she'd honestly be no better than a Nazi or a member of the KKK.
While I think her claim to also be protecting humans in the Genocide run was bs, if nothing else, it shows that she does have some doubts.
So, if she's not actually cool with legitimate genocide of the humans, I doubt she'd be cool with eternally torturing & experimenting on them, either.
However, I also think that she'd need to have seen the proof for herself first & possibly had that fact pointed out to her. At which point, I could see her furrowing her brow, eyes distant as she recalls the events, then her expression slowly falls as her completion pales & her fins droop, eyes widening in horror.
So, in that event, I think Undyne would be... well, I think she'd confront Alphys, but gently.
I mean, as gently as Undyne can be. But anyway,
Like, Undyne's a bigot, but she's a Vicarious Tragic Bigot, meaning that she's a bigot on behalf of the trauma dealt to those around her. In this way, her bigotry is driven by heroism, the desire to protect others. Which is a good thing.
But she's stubborn & all she sees is the shitty hand that her people have been dealt & the way that hand has hurt them. But this results in her not seeing things from other people's perspective & stonewalling others when the things they say contradicts what she "knows" to be true.
Regardless, I don't think that Undyne would outright disown even if she knew the full scale of what the 2 did. Especially if Alphys had already made it clear just how sorry she was.
But I definitely think that she'd need a bit of time to sort things out. In a lot of ways, I think that this would be the point of change for her.
Like, she's nowhere near apologizing to Frisk & seeing him as a person who deserves life every bit as much as monsters do... but she would be at a point where she'd likely realize that Frisk wouldn't deserve what Alphys did to the other human souls. And she'd begin to wonder if even they deserved it.
And even after apologizing to Frisk & meaning it, all that anti-human sentiment isn't just gonna go away. That isn't how bigotry works. It takes actively reprogramming your mind.
And, that goes double for every other monster that behaved that way. I would very much not be surprised if after the so-called True Ending, there were a lot of instances of prejudice & general disregard for humanity.
And especially for Undyne, I see her really only needing a single instance of a dickhead human to dredge those feelings up again.
