“Where’s Y/N?” Sam looks around the empty library. “Dean, what’s going on? Didn’t we agree to lay low for a while? We didn’t move back to the castle in the middle of nowhere for no reason.”

“She’s in town to get some stuff. Y/N said the old castle is just that. Old. Cold. Boring,” Dean chuckles as his brother rolls his eyes. “I know you don’t want us to go out there during the day. But we can’t hide here forever. Rumors spread that someone bought the castle.”

“Dean, we cannot-“ shaking his head the younger brother tries to not lose his composure. “We agreed to stay away from the town during the day.”

“Sammy, Sammy. My wife needs more than sitting in the castle, waiting for the night to come. Y/N wants to turn this castle into a home again,” Dean sighs as his brother doesn’t seem to understand your needs. “People will get the wrong idea if we only sneak out at night. Don’t you think?”

“I know,” Sam walks toward the newly restored window to watch the sunset. “Sun doesn’t hurt us but this doesn’t mean we should run around town during the day. We should wait for nightfall and get all we need.”

“Dean, baby?” you hurriedly make your way toward the library. “I got everything we will need. How’s securing doing? Did Charlie fix the cameras already?”

“Sweetheart,” Dean grins as you walk into the library, carrying bags full of pillows, table clothes, and decorations. “Charlie did a great job. No one will enter the castle without our allowance. The gates are solid too.”

“Good.”

You give your husband and soulmate a soft smile. He can read your mind and returns the smile.

None of you talked about what happened a few months back.

You were on the run after one of your enemies discovered your true nature.

Vampires. The outlaws among criminals.

No one would believe how many of you live among them. 

“Y/N, we talked about going to town to buy things. Right,” Sam doesn’t hide he’s still pissed. He had to leave town with you. Again.

“Sam, the store closes before sunset. I cannot influence everything in this world. I can read minds and manipulate humans. This doesn’t mean I want the poor girl working at the store to wait for me to come around.”

“We just moved here. Do not mess things up again.”

“Sam, that is enough,” Dean gets up from his chair to take the bags out of your hands. “We both know you, your teeth, and a girl named Amelia was one of the reasons we are on the run.”

“She—” Sam sighs deeply.

“We all know you thought that you found your soulmate, Sam,” you softly say. “She just wasn’t the right person. If you turn someone, make sure she’s the one.”

“I-“ your brother-in-law sniffs. “I’m so lonely, Y/N. Being with humans is off-limits. A one-night stand is fine. But a relationship between a vampire and humans never works out. You know that.”

“Oh, I forgot,” you get a piece of paper out of your pocket. “I met that pretty girl at the store again.” You place the piece of paper in Sam’s hand. “You know the one asking about the man driving me to town last time.”

“A girl?” Dean cocks his head. “What girl?”

“Her name is Jess,” you coo as Sam sniffs at the piece of paper. He groans when he catches Jess’s scent. “I think she’s the right one for our Sammy.”

“Aw, my brother will finally get laid again,” Dean wraps his arm around your shoulders as you watch Sam dial Jess’s number. “See Sammy, Y/N bought all these nice things and got you a girl. That’s my wife…”

Sam truly didn't mean to leave Dean a vampire but when his brother shows back up in their motel room, pale-faced and shaking from hunger talking about how he had to go say goodbye to Lisa well Sam would be stupid to not see it for the opportunity it is; Dean's abilities as a vampire could be a great asset to them and the part of him that not even his lack of soul could erase, the twisted, possessive part that wants Dean by his side and focused solely on him thrills at the idea of his brother being dependent on his blood, never having to share him again or risk him leaving his side due to his fear of hurting someone innocent.

Dean is starving, his control slipping with every minute that ticks by, all it takes is one, little cut while pretending to riffle through one of their weapons duffles for Sam to find himself pinned to the wall Dean's fangs pressed into his neck, his blood filling his brother's mouth.
