Film Theory: Ready Player One's True THREAT! (SPOILER FREE)
The biggest flaw in the movie is not the building structure, but a common flaw in this type of stories. (The server power supply problem cannot be solved.) Many cyberpunk and virtual world-themed movies are about (the real world is declining, the virtual world is booming, and humans hide in the virtual world.) In fact, the servers needed to maintain the virtual world consume a lot of electricity.(Note:!!!!!!!!!!…………………………) The situation of (the real world is declining, the virtual world is booming) is impossible because there is no way to provide enough power for the server(At that world).

Headsets and what nots
Pairing: Alex Walter x female reader
<<< >>>
And it was maddening. To be around him. Alex Walter had that magnetic pull that the only one oblivious to it was himself. He commanded the presence of everyone around him by his silence and through his gentleness. All the words he spoke were kind, he never raised his voice. He was ready to step in and help and you couldn’t help but observe him.
It started off as a bet you made with yourself, to prove to your conscience that no one as good as him could exist because everyone at some point was bound to mess up. But not him. What had started as a game now became an obsessive chore, to crave for that vindication of being right which he made it more frustrating. He never slipped up. No unnecessary advances, the perfect combination of jokes, just the right level of touches. He kept his slate clean and you were a private investigator on the verge of going mad.
Alex led the gaming club so he was busy with new members and setting up servers or the basic orchestration of the event. Whereas you as a newly joined member was privy to the gossip and the love ridden sighs. The boys were here to play and the girls, well they were here for Alex Walter.
Everyone knew of this, except him. It was as though he was oblivious to it, impervious rather to all the attention he received. His attention was under his control. Who he gave it to, how he let the world know who his people were. You didn’t have to fight for his gaze, you had to earn it.
You kept your head down, university was supposed to be a new start. All you wanted was a friend and that was all. Locking yourself up in your dorm room only made your lonely life even lonelier and trying to meet up with people in your class did not go well either. Parties were not your scene so the only best place to be was here. In the back of this internet cafe, building cities in this virtual world along with people you only knew through avatars and usernames.
Here, you could just be, without a history.
You had forgotten to bring your headphones so you enabled the chat function and started to play the game with the people who were waiting in the game lobby. All you could hear from time to time was Alex’s name popping up often that he spent his time solving queries rather than playing.
You had one class in common with him and often passed by him in university grounds. Your eyes would meet occasionally and that was it. Apart from being far off acquaintances, you had never spent time in real time.
You were working your way through a level when out of the blue your character was attacked, making you lose the level. You thumped the desk with your fist at the disappointment when you noticed the chat. All the other players were stating it would have been easier if you were able to hear them as you had missed out on their warning.
You sunk into your seat contemplating if playing another round was worth it when someone tapped you on your shoulder.
“You can use my headset, I noticed you didn’t have one.”, you heard him.
Alex stood next to you, his face held a serene expression with a lopsided grin.
“I’ll be fine. I don’t want to be a bother.”, you let him know, a smile spreading across your face.
But he didn’t argue with you or make a scene of his lovely gesture. It was just between him and you. He held the headset apart as he fixed it over your head gently. You had to look away because he was so close. His eyes focusing on the work at hand as you sat there frozen feeling the warm soft touch on his fingertips against your cheek. He pulled down the microscope and your lips parted in surprise because his thumb grazed the edge of your bottom lip. You couldn’t help but look into his eyes and when his gaze fell on you for a second, it was as though the world had stopped and it did as he paused to look at you.
He reached out to swipe your bangs to the side as he fixed them from falling across your forehead, you were certain your heart had given out because you couldn’t even open your mouth to thank him.
“Perfect.”, he said as his eye glimmered with mischief but before you could say anything he got up to plug the wire into the port and the noise of your teammate’s chatter flooded in.
With that he walked away, and now you were back to square one, you couldn’t find a flaw in him.
Alex never quite liked his position as the person who ran the club cause it was a lot more effort than he had realised.
But now as he stood at the main table, supervising the other members, he was free to sneak glimpses of you.
The bright smile after you win, the frustration creasing your eyebrows when you lost, his fingers still tingled from the bold move he had somehow managed to pull, to feel the soft touch of your skin. He would have never done this with Jackie but with you, he felt like himself. Confident and certain in what he wanted. His heart didn’t beat against his chest, it instead covered him with a sense of comfort.
There was something about you he couldn’t quite place, something that made it impossible for him to look at anyone else.

Quackity Wins Annual 'Sexiest Dream SMP Member' Tournament 4th Year in a Row
Poll results from the 2024 Sexiest Dream SMP Member tournament released its unsurprising, if ill-timed results this Wednesday, revealing recently deceased President Alex Quackity H.Q. of Las Nevadas as the winner for the fourth year in a row—every year since the tournament's inception.
Quackity won by a landslide of 69%, with Foolish Gamers as the first runner-up at 11%. Dream Was Taken had received a shocking one vote; when asked for comment, poll runners refused to break anonymity to divulge the identity of this mysterious voter. However, they did elect to mention that the only living person who had not voted was George Not Found, as he was sleeping for the entire duration of the poll's runtime.
Various members of the SMP were contacted by our team to offer their standpoint on their vote, the results, and tournament as a whole.
“I think him winning was a great way to honor his memory, you know? One last big final hurrah. I mean, not counting the, you know... the explosion. That was a pretty big final hurrah,” first runner-up Foolish Gamers remarked. “I voted for him, of course. Pretty surprised I got second place though. Guess my himbo swag is more charming than I expected!”
“Um, I voted for Ranboo, personally. Didn't expect anyone other than Quackity to win, though, of course... he's like, the server sexyman. Probably getting his freak on as we speak, actually," Snowchester President Tubbo Underscore-Beloved said, seemingly under the impression that the man in question was still alive. Once informed of Quackity's passing, he added, “Oh,” and refused to speak further.
Former L'manburg President, current Utah gas station attendant Wilbur Soot commented over Zoom, “You know, in 2020, I didn't get a chance to vote because I was too busy being dead. But you can bet the moment I was outta that grave I put his name down on the ballot and never looked back, though it's been pretty hard mailing my votes in the years since I left. I'm not sure why they even bother, to be honest. The results are never going to change. I can guarantee you he'll win again for the 2025 round. Even though he's dead. God, I always knew we'd come to the same end, that copycat.” His grin faded. “I wish history didn't repeat itself. I thought I left early enough so the poison I brought to this server would stop seeping into everyone else. I never even said goodbye, you know? I thought...” After this point, Soot abruptly turned off his camera and microphone before disconnecting. He never rejoined the virtual meeting, and is no longer contactable by our team.
“Dude, Puffy was right there. Puffy was right there and everyone still voted for Quackity! I don't get it!” bank manager and former Eggpire member Hannah X. X. Rose insisted. “She got fourth place, which honestly isn't too bad for a woman in a server full of men, but come on guys. This thing is so rigged, it was rigged from the start with that ratio. Rest in peace, though, I guess. He was annoying, but, he could slay every once in a while.”
“Yeah, I voted for Quackity,” Captain Puffy, leader of the now-defunct Pro-Omelette Resistance turned vessel for the Egg (prior to its extermination), said. “Could've voted for Niki, but she didn't want me to, and obviously I didn't want to make her uncomfortable. Also, it's just, like, the obvious choice otherwise. Have you been to one of his strip shows? Rest in peace to that fallen diva.”
Quackity's fiancés (when asked for clarification on their marital status, conflicting answers were given, so the writers have elected to retain the fiancé label) both voted for him as well. “When we heard about what happened, it was...” General Sapnap sighed deeply, and paused for several moments before continuing: “Kinoko Kingdom and Las Nevadas are actually right next to each other, so we heard the explosion in the distance, and I geared up and ran there ready to see, like, a nuke or something. But it was Quackity. He looked so small under all that rubble. Compared to how big everything else in Las Nevadas was.”
Another long pause. “Karl's time travelling is limited to eras outside of his lifespan, so it's not like he could've dashed back in 10 minutes early to save him. I regret every second I spent in Kinoko, staring out the window at Las Nevadas in the distance not trying to bring him back. It's a mistake that will haunt me for the rest of my life. Sorry, can you give me a second?”
While comforting his partner, Karl Jacobs said, “I'm ace, but I had to vote for him, obviously. My amnesia took every good memory we had together from me, and turned him into a monster—the not sexy kind, by the way—and by the time it stopped progressing it was too late. But I still look at our old photos together, what we used to have, the look in Sapnap's eyes when he talks about him and about us, and I wonder what could have been. There is one thing I know: in every time I've travelled to, I've fallen in love with two people every time. One of them is familiar and the other one isn't. The next time I go, I'll find him. I have to.”
In the day after the interviews were conducted, the team was approached by a gelatinous green man who was not on the voter's or member's list. He claimed to be named Charlie, and stated that he too had been present at the time of the explosion. “I was Quackity's best friend, just ask anyone from Las Nevadas. Some may call me his successor, his right-hand man, his assistant, his boyfriend, his silly rabbit... someone even called me his son, which was kinda weird, but either way, we were something. And that something was flawed, but in the end I think we were able to make amends. At least, that's what I thought at the time. I was saying goodbye because I was leaving to go travel the world, and as I turned and started walking I suddenly hear this loud 'BOOM' and then I turn around and the entire casino's been exploded. I mean, he was destined to turn to dust either way, whether it was in five years or fifty-five years or five hundred five years, but I admit that was the first time I saw someone turn to dust 'prematurely' and feel something. I think that's what people call 'emotions.' I'm not a people, so I'm not part of the voter's list. But if I was, I would've voted for Mr. Cicle. Now that was a sexy fella.”

✨ Life Update ✨
Hello everyone,
I have not been active here in months and wanted to fill you in on what has been transpiring in my life. All very good things, but it has undoubtedly taken my attention away from fandom and writing and into the more physical, tangible world -- a therapy for me that has been necessary on my creative and personal journey.
Back in October my coworker found a stray kitten that I fell in love with at first sight, but my home was a mess so I spent 3 weeks cleaning and organizing and getting it cat-ready while she fostered him. Over this time I discovered how therapeutic the act of cleaning -- something I had always seen as a tedious chore -- truly was. I began to look forward to the satisfaction of wiping away years worth of dust and grime, how I could lose myself in the moment and relish in simple, physical action, and delight in the finished result. In reality, all that really needed to change was my attitude and my relationship to cleaning. It has become like a therapy to me, and I was able to fulfill a dream of hosting a dinner party for friends after years of construction on our very old house prevented us (my partner and I) from doing so.
This is Munkustrap (aka Munk, Munko, baby kitty) named after my favorite and hottest cat from the musical Cats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway he's literally a perfect angel (and sometimes a poopyhead) but as he is a 6 month old kitten, he requires a lot of my attention. My days now begin and end with feeding and playing with him, and the physical interaction has been so welcome and therapeutic.
In my other real-world endeavors, I have been devoting quite a bit of time to another beloved artform, which is songwriting. In my day job I work at a nonprofit youth arts organization and have been training a new receptionist and also teaching songwriting and performing at the organization with the kids in my class. I have also been active in the dance company I am a part of as well.
It has become vitally important for me to devote time to engaging with my local artistic community, so I have been getting out in the real world and attending local shows. My community is small and my voice and presence in it, as all our voices are, is important. Just as our voices are in online communities, however large or small.
Though I have prioritized my physical world over my virtual one in the past few months, I have still been peripherally engaged, keeping a pulse through close friends and discord servers. And I have been writing, though not as often as I used to. It is not the center of my current life situation and that is ok.
I do intend on continuing and completing DSSCTM, though I am unsure of the timeline on that. Right now I am more focused on being rather than doing, but I sense that when I return to the realm of writing I will do so with a renewed sense of excitement, passion, and joy.
I love you! 🎢💕

Note
I did'nt know if you still took requests but I grew up kind of nerdy. I had a dad that was like that, always into computers and books. As I am now almost 40, I would like to know what my life would have been like had my dad been a bodybuilder or just more athletic.
As you step into the sleek, futuristic VR lab, a tingling excitement fills you. The dimly lit room is filled with humming servers and flashing monitors. Dr. Smith, the head of R&D, greets you with a warm smile. "Welcome. Are you ready to test our latest creation?" You nod eagerly, fumbling with the VR-remote as Dr. Smith explains, "This prototype VR system can simulate alternate timelines based on your past decisions. It's a glimpse into what could have been if you made different choices." As you step into the sleek, futuristic VR chamber, the air hums with anticipation. The prototype VR system gleams with promise, surrounded by a tangle of wires and blinking lights. Your heart races with a mixture of excitement and apprehension.
Tumblr media
"Are you ready to begin the simulation?" a voice crackles through the speakers. You nod, swallowing hard, your father's IT prowess echoing in your mind. "What would you change if you could?" the voice whispers in your ear. "Hmm, I wonder how this will turn out," you mumble to yourself, take a deep breath and declare, "I want to change my father from being an IT-nerd to a fitness coach." As the words leave your lips, the room shimmers and shifts before your eyes. The room you find yourself in is eerily familiar yet strangely different. The walls are plastered with posters of modern-day superheroes instead of the old-school bands you used to love. Your gaze falls upon the sleek gaming setup in the corner, a stark contrast to the clunky computer your younger self once had. Your reflection in the mirror reveals a scrawny teenager staring back at you, a stark contrast to your 40-year-old self. The VR system's effects seem so real, yet you're aware it's still the current year.
As you sat in your room, immersed in the virtual reality experience, the door creaked open, and in stepped your father. His appearance had transformed into that of a fitness coach, looking determined and energetic.
Tumblr media
He began, "Son, I've found the perfect sport for you." "Sigh... Dad, can we talk about this? I've tried so many sports already, and they're just not my thing," you countered, a hint of frustration creeping into your voice. Your father, now fixated on his newfound passion for fitness, insisted, "But you haven't tried cycling yet! It's the perfect blend of exercise and fun. You'll love it, I promise." Frustration turned to exasperation as you realized he wasn't going to back down. "Dad, I appreciate your enthusiasm, but I'm just not as sporty as you. Can't we find something else to do this summer?" His brow furrowed, and with a determined gleam in his eye, he declared, "No arguments this time, son. You're going to that cyclist's camp for the summer, and that's final." You let out a defeated groan, knowing it was futile to fight against his newfound fitness obsession. Reluctantly, you mumbled, "Fine, I'll go to the cyclist's camp. But I'm not promising I'll enjoy it." Your father nodded, satisfied with your acceptance, and left the room, leaving you to contemplate the summer ahead filled with cycling adventures.
Some weeks later you find yourself among picturesque mountains in the hated cycling camp. You pedaled hard on the race bike, feeling the strain in your muscles as you tried to keep up with the rest of the cyclists in the camp, but to no avail.
Tumblr media
You were feeling the strain in your muscles and the sweat running down your back, as the coach approached you. "Hey, I've got something for you," he said, handing you a pair of sleek glasses.
Tumblr media
You put them on, and suddenly the world around you shifts, numbers and data streaming across your vision. Your speed and heart rate, along with the optimal pace and cadence all displayed in glowing letters.
The information overwhelming you at first. You let out a frustrated scream, "What is this? I can't see anything with all this data in my face!" The coach chuckled, "Just give it a chance. Focus on the line, that's all you need to see." Despite your initial resistance, you forced yourself to concentrate on the slim line that appeared amidst the sea of statistics. It was the perfect course, guiding you through the twists and turns of the cycling track. As you continue riding, the glasses gradually limit your view of the environment until all you can see is the slim line indicating the optimal course. Finally the environment fades away completely, leaving you with only the essential data.
You panic at first, feeling disoriented without being able to see your surroundings and so you couldn't help but protest, "I can't see anything else! How am I supposed to ride like this?" The coach's voice was stern, "Trust the glasses, trust the process. It will help you focus and improve your skills." Reluctantly, you continued to ride, adjusting to the restricted vision. It was frustrating at first, but gradually, you felt your mind quieting down, focusing solely on the slim line in front of you. It was strangely calming, allowing you to block out distractions and concentrate solely on the ride. As days turned into weeks, you found yourself improving dramatically. Your movements were smoother, your reactions quicker. The coach nodded in approval, watching as you navigated the course with precision. Despite the progress, you couldn't deny that you still didn't enjoy sports.
Tumblr media
One day, as you pedaled through another successful training session, you felt an unfamiliar sensation stirring within you. Arousal. At first, it was a mere flicker, but soon it blazed through your veins, igniting a fire you never knew existed. Your body reacted without your consent, your member throbbing insistently within the confines of your tight cycling suit, creating a visible bulge that couldn't be ignored. Just as you were lost in this strange mix of pleasure and confusion, the VR system abruptly announced, "Ending VR-Test; leave VR experience or stay to turn VR into reality. VR conversion to reality starts soon." At that very moment, your glasses projected a command to accelerate your speed and cadence on the bike, a directive you found impossible to resist. You obeyed, feeling the rush of the wind against your face as your pleasure heightened with each passing moment. Faster and faster you rode, your body responding eagerly to the physical exertion. Your arousal peaked, your cock growing so hard it felt almost painful. And then, in a climax of both pleasure and exhaustion, you finally succumbed, falling from the bike in a euphoric daze. Your breath comes in ragged gasps, a sense of both satisfaction and confusion washing over you. "Conversion VR to reality completed in 3 ... 2 ... 1," the VR system announces, jolting you back to reality. Panic sets in as you desperately try to end the experience, but it's too late. The VR remote dissolved into thin air, leaving you trapped in your teenage-self in this new, perplexing reality.
Tumblr media
As you lay there, grappling with your newfound circumstances, the coach approached with a knowing smile. His gaze fell upon the cum-stained cycling suit, a clear indicator of the glasses' influence on your desires. "The brainwashing glasses have obviously done their task," he remarks, his tone laced with amusement. "Your body's desire is now intertwined with cycling. You'll become a pro cyclist in no time." Still grappling with the bizarre turn of events, you reluctantly nodded in agreement. What choice did you have in this altered reality?
With a gentle yet firm tone, the coach suggested, "You might want to consider shaving your body hair. It could make you faster on the bike, you know." Feeling overwhelmed by the abrupt changes thrust upon you, you hesitantly agreed and made your way to the shower after the grueling training session.
Tumblr media
As you attempted to shave yourself, the unfamiliarity of the task led to a few accidental cuts with the razor. Suddenly, a fellow cyclist appeared by your side, offering a helping hand. His touch was surprisingly gentle as he took over the task of shaving you, his skilled hands gliding smoothly over your skin. The sensation of the razor against your inner thighs and pubic area triggered an unexpected reaction. A rush of arousal surged through you, causing a noticeable reaction in your groin. Embarrassment flushed your cheeks as you struggled to contain your body's instinctual response. The other cyclist, noticing your discomfort, reassured you in a calm voice, "Getting a boner is a completely natural reaction, especially in a situation like this. And besides, you're rather cute." His words were oddly comforting, easing some of the tension that had coiled within you. Before you could fully process his kindness, he leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to your lips. Surprised yet strangely intrigued by the unexpected gesture, you couldn't help but entertain the fleeting thought, "Maybe my new life isn't that bad after all." Meanwhile, the coach, who had been observing the scene unfold, couldn't help but smirk at the dynamics taking shape within the team. "The side effect of the glasses, turning the boys bi, certainly creates an interesting new dynamic, wouldn't you say?" he mused, his eyes glinting with amusement at the unfolding changes in the team's dynamics.
Enjoy the ride of your new life, cyclist!

Pouring
Continuation of a cl16-based fanfic.
It discarded The remains of its previous meal, the god-only-knows-how-many'ith pig for the day.
It growled, virtual flesh wouldn't sustain it. Not forever.
It needed to get it's prey cornered, as soon as it could. It'd admit, it was a little more sloppy this time, but that only came with desperation.
It looked over its shoulder again. The craving of flesh must've worn away what little sanity it had left… it felt a presence in this particular save.
But it wasn't dumb, either. in fact, when it came to reading humans, It was scarily intelligent.
It noticed the rain that seemed to follow its previous target… it remembered what he said before it'd left his world.
So then, what was this lurch in their gut? Why did it feel the need to constantly look behind it? Why did the very clouds in the sky hum and crackle, almost as though an omen?
Why was it afraid? It had always been the most dangerous thing in the server, no matter what other company seemed to follow.
With this, came anger. Anger that it had allowed itself to be affected by these feelings.
Its hair stood on end. It had retreated to a cave mere minutes ago.
The way the clouds seemed to stare at it specifically, accusingly…
Maybe it had finally lost its mind.
—-------------------------------------------------
Rain and thunder followed him as always; a sign of his arrival.
But this time, as did periodic flares in his left hand.
It wasn't too periodic, maybe a bi-hourly basis. It didn't last too long, either. A minute at most.
Regardless, they still had a whole world to traverse and only one entity to find...
But they knew where to start.
All they needed to do was find the player.
Moreover, he remembered some of it's hunting tactics. He knew what to keep an eye out for.
Now, when it came to the Element of surprise, it'd be much easier if this damn rain would finally go to rest! It was like a big announcement of their presence.
If it escaped and caught on, it could simply go into hiding or leave the save altogether at the first sign of rain on a new world.
So the best option was to stalk from afar, catch it off guard, and handle business right then and there.
He had to take away its options and back it into a corner.
But all that couldn't come before he found the player. they needed a way to figure out where the player was.
They dashed through the plains biome they were in, the rain bouncing of their coat. They needed to figure something out.
They put a hand out to shield their eyes from the rain, they could hardly see what was in front of them.
They trudged forwards aimlessly, looking for anything that might clue them in as to where this saves’ owner was. Any landmarks, man-made holes or structures, anything at this point would help!
After what felt like hours of searching, he heard something.
“Hey!” The voice was faint through the rain, so much so that it's unrecognizable.
Their head snapped towards the sound, trying even harder to squint through the storm.
...Nothing.
Facing forwards, once again, he kept his pace-
“Collin!”
And there it was again, disturbing The Aformentioned's thoughts.
This time, the voice sounded slightly closer, it was more recognizable this time. It sounded…
younger.
They couldn't ignore it this time. They turned towards the voice, snarling and ready to use his own two hands to attack if need be.
There were enough entities that anything out-of-the-ordinary was considered fair game at this point.
They crept closer towards the sound, in a patch of trees that seemed to lead into a jungle biome.
The thickness of the trees obscured his vision further, doing their nerves no favors.
“Hello? Hello! Are you listening?!”
The incessant nagging was beginning to wear on his already short temper, and almost as if knowing, it increased its fervor.
"..HEY. HEY! OVER HERE, DUMMY! FOLLOW ME!"
They growled
"HEY. HEEEEEY! HE-"
Deciding he was in no mood to continue letting this brat harass his ears, He let out an angered grunt as he leapt through the brush to chase after whatever this thing was!
"Hey!"
He dashed through another patch of leaves, bounding off some especially sloped terrain.
"YOU THERE!"
This time, he narrowly dodged a tree-branch.
"YES! KEEP FOLLOWING ME!”
The rain and sweat had begun to sting at his eyes, not that he he was already having a hard time of having a hard time seeing in front of him already.
"GOOD JOB!"
Sticking his arms out and crossing them over his face, he blitzed through another patch of leaves.
"OVER HERE!"
More tree branches, more leaves, more rain in his eyes. He was seriously getting tired of this.
"A LITTLE MORE TO THE RIGHT!"
For whatever reason, he followed.
"THIS WAY!"
How many entities were out?! He'd always chalked up to his frequent sightings to just his typical bad luck, but this was getting ridiculous!
They grunted with each nearly-leaping step he took, fully leaning forwards into their stride.
A red crept in his vision as his arm took another jolt of white-hot agony.
“AAAAGHH! GOD DAMNIT!” They shouted through gritted teeth at a sensation that nearly halted the chase entirely.
Thankfully the trees took away some of the rain, but this meant they now had to trade dodging raindrops for branches.
They continued the chase until they found another thick patch of leaves.
He leaped through but was surprised when he was met with a clearing.
Anger dissipating, he looked around, spotting a village in the distance.
He stood up and brushed himself off, all the dirt and leaves and water that collected on him from his previous endeavor stuck to him like wet sand.
He looked on. It wasn't an impressive thing, about as basic a village as it gets.
It wasn't much, but it was the most he's had since showing up here. Maybe, by some off-chance there'd be something here that'd help him.
Reaching the village, he'd wondered why there was no iron golem here but decided to rummage through rather than waste time worrying about little things.
In one house, a chest with saplings and useless food.
He ignored the free he'd for now, it was only a place for a villager to hide or sleep, with just enough space to do just that.
Now when he opened the door initially, the villager ran out of the house and into another, closing the door behind it.
Collin stared after it, confused.
“Huh…weird.”
The next house, absent of any villagers, had a whole lot more nothing in it. Other than some bookshelves, there was nothing of note.
Going to yet another small house to the left of the one he was just in, they were met with...
He sighed.
...Another house with nothing of use.
Frustrated with their lack of results, He debated on whether he should call this little search off and keep their nose to the wind.
One more.
This one was a bit taller, looking more like a lodge than an actual residence. Maybe there'd be something here.
Collin soon found themselves thankful that they stayed, because on the second story in a small room, was a cartography Table…
A cartography table that he could make locator maps on…
Bingo.
He wracked his brain (?) Trying to remember the recipe for one. He knew he needed paper, obviously. Can't make a map without paper.
Then he remembered the next piece he needed for it, a compass. Now that might take a bit more time to get his hands on. Time that he may or may not have.
Man… this sucked.
—----------------------------------‐—------------
With the Past few days of digging, Kevin honestly hadn't found much to clue him in on what was in Mike's world.
He did find the odd drop, some mob drops with other drops missing. Other then that, nothing of note except for this rain. Which still would not go away even with the power of cheats and /clearsky.
he groaned, this investigation was going nowhere.
What was more interesting was the fact that, for seemingly everyone else playing, the rain had stopped.
So why did it persist in this world?
If the storm and whatever has Mike rattled weren't connected, he'd most likely do some of his own digging on these weird storms.
Now the odd drops checked put, hard to explain away too other than some mobs killing eachother, which was less than unlikely.
The frequency of which even moreso.
So that was out of the question. Another possibility is a generation error, but the drops themselves need to have a source entity attached to it, so that just wasn't plausible either.
He decided for now, he'd just play on the save until something interesting came up… which seemed to be few and far between.
He stumbled across some more leather, and an eerie feeling creeps up over him. Was he imagining things, or did some of the grey on that stone just move?
He decided to take notes on his recent findings, one thing of note was that any food-related drops were completely absent. Even rotten flesh.
With those few findings, he opened up shadow play and went back over the past 10 minutes of footage, found the moment he was looking for, slowed and zoomed in the video.
Something was in the world with him.
The spot he swore he saw move was more visible now. A bit darker than the texture of the stone, but still tough to see with all the different kinds of lighting effects, but in slow-mo, it was clear as day.
—-------------------------------------------------
A dark cave, a presence behind him, and an overwhelming sense of dread.
These were all ways his dreams ended, every single time, for weeks since it first started happening.
Being chased, running, getting cornered and right as whatever was chasing him was about to show itself, he'd be up in a cold sweat.
with an even colder sensation of being watched.
He wasn't sure what to make of it at first, he honestly thought he was reaching when he connected it to the odd encounters on his world. It was just a videogame, so it couldn't hurt him in real life…
But every time he woke up he was just never able to shake the feeling of dread in his stomach. After days of these nightmares and anomalous occurrences, he came to a conclusion.
Something was after him.
It was half the reason he contacted Kevin in the first place. If anyone knew what to do, it'd be him.
But the nightmares haven't stopped, and his thoughts would always wander back to the save without fail. He couldn't get it out of his head, and it was beginning to wear down on him
In the meantime, he shut himself in. The paranoia was too intense, anywhere out in the open felt like a death sentence. Better not to risk it.
When he was explaining what happened, there was an underlying nervousness that Kevin would simply dismiss him. He'd tried several things, and this was his last hail-mary.
---------------------------------------------------
it’d been a normal day for Jeremy so far. He went to his classes, went out with some classmates afterward, and was on his way back to the dorm.
He sent his dorm-mate a text a while ago, the two shared an interest in minecraft and had been playing while getting to know each other when they first met.
Now, they spent countless hours in the game together. His roommate had been very shut-in with everyone else at college. They were a very “mind their own business” type of person.
But they'd soon become friends, and Jeremy would find out his roommate Collin was a very relaxing and easygoing individual. He was always down for a chill time.
No response from Collin and Jeremy sighed, he still had another few minutes of this bus ride to go, so he opened up a budding channel he started watching awhile ago: Morbuis
Sadly, still no new uploads since his last ARG video. So he settled for watching older uploads until he got back to his dorm building.
He headed towards the elevator and pressed the button, checking his phone while he waited. The obscenely long wait from the school's decades-old elevator.
For Morbuis’ channel, there may not have been any new uploads, but there was a community post.
It showed morbuis In a hospital bed, all kinds of IVs and oxygen hooked into him while holding up a peace sign.
The caption read as follows.
“Hey all, I'm unfortunately in the hospital after contracting a respiratory infection that the doctors think is bronchitis. Doc’s said ill prolly be here awhile since the symptoms haven't started going down, so sorry about the inactivity.
Thanks to my mom for taking the Pic for me.”
Damn, I hope they're okay
“Lotta People gettin’ that shit, dude.” He nearly jumped at a voice from over his shoulder.
“Jesus, man! Don't go looking over people's shoulders!” Jeremy scolded his buddy from his med Class.
“my bad, I watch morbuis too, and my cousin got something similar. Young healthy dude on his high school football team, and now he has to he on oxygen 24/7 or he'll die…. Scary shit.”
Jeremy simply stared in shock.
“Wow… it's that bad? Are any older folks getting it?” He questioned
“I can't tell you that for sure, but what I can tell you is that about 90 percent of cases I hear about usually involve people younger than 30… I had to do a paper on it for my med classes.”
He explained as they stepped into the elevator.
Jeremy was a tad interested now. As a med student and aspiring cardiologist himself, if he could do enough digging, he was sure he'd find something big.
“Any chance you have any extras? I kinda wanna look into it now.”
“I can send you a copy. It's all online, so I can just send it to your school email.”
He said his farewells and the two got off at their floor. Although they had to go opposite ways to their respective rooms.
Whatever this virus was, it mainly hit younger people. And it was very debilitating, making otherwise healthy people bedridden and dependant.
He checked his phone again, but there was still no answer from Collin. Maybe he's taking a nap. He does that a lot.
For some reason, the thought of Collin and his radio silence brought his mind back to the conversation he just had.
That was what it looked like with treatment, what did it look like untreated?
He turned down the hall, greeting a few passersby as he did, and approached the door to his room, keycard ready.
He held it up to the reader and waited for the beep, turning the doorknob and pushing the door open as he did.
The first thing he did was go to collin's room and knock on the door.
He waited a few more seconds in silence before knocking again. Noting the sound of music from Collin's monitor.
“Yo, Collin! You up? Get on the game, let's play!” Usually, he'd be met with faint groaning and the shifting of blankets, but this time, he heard nothing.
“Bro? You in there? I think I hear your monitor… are you good?” He finished with more knocks.
Now, he had to get unethical.
“I'm coming in, doors’ unlocked!” He advised before opening the door.
Collins’ bed was to the immediate right of the door going in, the seat facing the monitor had its back facing the door. But he could still make out a form slumped over.
“Collin, wake up dude… holy shit, how long did you stay up this time? I swear every other day I need to tell you to get some sleep…”
He went up behind and put a hand on his shoulder, shaking him.
No response. He shook him again.
“Y'know, this is really bad for you, Collin. You know how many studies there are on the effects a lack of sleep has on the brain? How do you eve- Collin?”
Now he was scared. How Collin hadn't woken up with Jeremy's ranting in his ear was a mystery.
At least until Jeremy turned the chair around.
Jeremy froze as his eyes widened, his ears began to buzz, and he felt light-headed as he was met with Collins’ glassy, lifeless gaze.
His mouth hung open, eyes staring ahead at the screen before, and I to Jeremy's soul, now.
“Oh god… oh god, Collin!” He all but screamed as he fumbled for his phone.
He opened the home screen, but his haste grew as he remembered he needed a pass code to unlock his phone. This was not the time for any inconveniences, and in his shaken Haste, had to try punching the code in a few times.
His brain struggled to make sense of anything during the haze of panic. It was so intense that he nearly dropped his phone.
With shaky hands, opened up his keypad and dialed 911.
“911 what's your emergency?”
“Please, you need to send someone quick! I found my roommate and he's not moving… I think he's not breathing, too an-and I don't know what to do!’ He stammered into the phone.
“H-he hasn't been answering my calls and I thought he might’ve just been…”
“Okay, slow down and tell me what happened.” The operator tried to soothe.
He stopped to take a deep breath.
“I thought he might’ve just been asleep or something, then when I came back to the dorm I… I j-just found him in his chair and he-he wasn't moving…”
he was spiraling down fast. He felt his eyes get watery.
“And where did this happen?”
“I want you to locate his wrist and turn his arm palm-up. Do you feel any sort of bounding?”
“At the college, dorm building 2 on the 9th floor room 436…. please hurry…. Fuck!” he sputtered beligerently
He did as instructed and felt for a pulse, his stomach dropping and hands going numb when he couldn't feel one.
“N-nothing! No!” He cried in desperation.
“Alright, i need you to stay as calm as possible for me. Can you put your hand in front of his mouth and watch for any rise and fall of the chest?”
He did so, pressing a hand against collin's cold lips. He bit back a scream of utter anguish.
“Still nothing…” he said, quieter this time. Any hope had seemingly began to leak out through his voice.
“I need you to listen to me carefully…”
The operator instructed him to bring Collin to the floor, laying him flat on his back and commencing CPR. the whole situation rattled him, and when he pressed down and felt Collins’ ribs give, he bit back a sob.
“F-fuckin' A, man! ” he whimpered as he felt more of them give way.
“Sir, we're dispatching an ambulance to your location, is there anyone that would be able to direct them to the patient?”
He wracked his brain once again, trying desperately to string something, anything meaningful together until his mind came upon his friend.
He kept the dispatch on the phone as he sent out a text, he continued trying to resuscitate Collin.
Please open the message bro, Please please please!
He internally begged.
A second later, the first bit of good news finally came; his message had been opened.
“I’ll bring them over” was the response.
He felt a small bit of relief, but it faded in an instant as the weight of the situation hit him tenfold. He resumed his efforts.
After what felt like hours, Jeremy jumped at the sound of a door being opened Roughly, two EMTs and a paramedic rushed into the bedroom and cleared the area before getting a bag mask on him for oxygen.
One of the EMTs came up to him and instructed him out of the room so they could fit a stretcher in.
They hauled Collin up and out of the room, taking extra care when going down the stairs and tightening the restraints further when they gave slightly.
Everything went down so quickly. What felt like an eternity was maybe 5 or 10 minutes at most. It sent shocks to his brain, and the more he tried to process it, the duller he became.
When it was all over, Jeremy sat down with his back against the side of his bed, buried his head in his arms, and cried.
Too much had happened for any other reaction to be appropriate. He wasn't exactly known for making friends, but he gets very attached to the ones he has, almost to a fault.
While he focused on the sensation of tugging in his heart, thorns in his throat and hot tears streaming down his face, he hadn't noticed the door open softly.
He flinched slightly when he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Jeremy, it's alright, bud…. It's me.”
Jeremy popped his head up, ditching his dignity to see his only other friend.
He sat down next to Jeremy and rubbed circles on his back, Jeremy tried to hold it back in front of him, but it was already a losing battle.
He buried his face once again, but the gesture helped calm his nerves. It actually did incredible wonders. He couldn't remember when someone was this concerned for him, maybe his sister, but that's about it.
“That was a fucked up situation man, you're not looking too good.” He started.
“I think you should see someone about it, maybe a counselor or even just a normal therapist… Hell, you could even talk to me if you wanna, man.” He advised in as soothing a tone as he could.
Jeremy finally spoke through the pain in his throat.
“I know, but it's just that… I just want him to be… i don't want to… oh god, man!” He cried out as he tried to piece his emotions back Together, seemingly from scratch.
“I know man, I know… fuck, I'm so sorry you had to see that.” Jeremy felt arms around his shoulder as another sob wracked his body.
“”I just hope he's okay… I really.... really hope he's okay.” He squeaked out.
“I'm not gonna tell ya he will be… but I hope he's alright, too… What was his name? I think I heard you say his name started with a C, right? What do you guys like to do together?”
“Collin… And well… we play… god damn.” Jeremy takes a few deep breaths.
“It started pretty simple, y'know? Just like, we were gonna be roommates, so we may as well get to know each other kinda-kinda deal… y'know?”
He nodded simply and allowed him to continue.
“Then we got to talking a little bit, always thought he was a little closed in, but it was whatever, right? But we'd play Games together all the time, and… and that's where we learned the most about each other.”
He remembered some of the things they built and the deep talks they'd have, Collin never talked about his personal life, but it was apparent that something weighed on him heavily. And that only touched the tip of the iceberg.
Jeremy never pressed on about it. If it was too painful, then that was that. He was okay with it. All he ever wanted for his friend was the best.
“Like what?” He asked
“I dunno right now, man just, like, deep talks… what's really going on in our heads, how we're really doing… shit you just don't tell other people!” Jeremy cried out, burying his head back into his arms.
He sat there for a moment or two longer before Jeremy felt arms tighten as he tried to stand with jeremy in tow.
Jeremy could stand, but walking was another story, his hands and feet still felt numb and his knees still felt weak, so he was helped over to his bed, where he sat on the side of it.
“You should get some rest… it's been a rough day for you, you should get some rest so you can check in on Collin whenever you can.” Jeremy nodded, feeling fatigue take a stranglehold on him almost as if on cue.
He lied down, and his friend said his goodbyes, giving his best wishes and hoping Collin came out okay, Jeremy could only groan a small, meak “thank you.”
The adrenaline dump had been in its end throes, but now there was nothing left. He felt his muscles give up in the exhausting lethargy that followed.
God, his body felt so sore.
As soon as the light turned off and the door closed, the isolation had almost reignited his panic. But nothing was stopping exhaustion from pulling him under.
He mustered the last bit of his energy and rolled over to pull his covers over himself.
He felt himself drift off, his last thoughts being prayers to whatever deity would listen not to let one of his only friends slip away like this.
He doubted he'd be going to his classes tomorrow, but that was something he'd decide when the morning came.
—-------------------------------------------------
“Pain in my ass…” Collin grumbled to himself.
As much scrounging as he did, he could find what he needed without actually having to venture into the caves…
So they'd have to do this the old-fashioned way.
Admittedly, it was still a bit of an adjustment; like playing in VR, except you could see, hear, feel, smell, and touch everything around you… it was an odd sensation of seeing such familiar textures so close Infront of him, without the disconnect of a monitor.
At least if he was in the caves, he'd be able to get away from this damn rain!
He turned towards a tree and looked at his hand with a frown.
“Awwh… this is gonna suck, isn't it?” He groaned to himself.
Well… He had to get wood somehow.
He rubbed at his eyes in anticipation, rubbed his hands together, and wound his hand back.
He closed his eyes and braced himself for a blast of pain up his arm, maybe even broken bones… except it didn't happen.
Sure, the hit was stopped in its tracks, but it was like he hit a net that just… stopped his hand and did nothing else.
When he looked at the wood, he saw the cracked texture. That was much easier than he thought.
It was gonna be a long way up from here….
He threw a few more hits at it, not winding up as much and just focusing on hitting it fast and consistently. When it broke, he turned it into planks and made a table, breaking some more logs before setting the table down and making some tools.
---------------------------------------------------
So I know it seems like I shoehorn'd those characters in, but I promise I have plans and intend to expand on them more.

I'm still sad... but in like a really happy way.
Like the server has done exactly what it was supposed to do.
Everyone was so excited and ready to learn about the holiday and to learn new words and cultural things from each other. People who never would have met were crying over each other's virtual children or having a very serious discussion over developing a wriggle language for how to tell if one of them turned into a worm. Everyone cares about each other so much and it shows every time anyone interacts with each other, whether it's to stare at Cellbit and Charlie having the most intense lore convo about losing yourself to grief, or to start up an underground egg fight ring.
The lore implications were tearing out my heart over and over the whole day today but I'm so fucking happy.

- **Free Virtual Conferences**: Many cybersecurity conferences are virtual and some offer free access. DEF CON has a lot of free content, and you can find tons of talks on YouTube.
- **Hackathons**: Look for free entry hackathons—often universities or tech companies sponsor them. Compete, learn, and maybe even win some gear.
### 9. **DIY Challenges**
- **Create Your Own Scenarios**: Get a friend to simulate a hack or data breach. You try to solve it using whatever tools and resources you have. It's like escape rooms, but digital.
- **Pen & Paper Simulation**: Before diving into digital, try solving forensic puzzles on paper. Map out scenarios and solutions to get your brain wired like a detective.
### 10. **Stay Updated**
- **Podcasts & Blogs**: Tune into cybersecurity podcasts like *Darknet Diaries* or follow blogs like *Krebs on Security*. It’s like getting the tea on what’s happening in the cyber world.
### 11. **Free Software & Tools**
- **Autopsy**: Free digital forensics software that helps you analyze hard drives and mobile devices. Think of it as your magnifying glass for digital clues.
- **Wireshark**: A free tool to see what's happening on your network. Catch all the data packets like you're a digital fisherman.
### 12. **Online Forensics Communities**
- **Free Webinars & Workshops**: Join communities like the *SANS Institute* for free webinars. It's like attending a masterclass but from the comfort of your gaming chair.
- **LinkedIn Groups**: Join groups like *Digital Forensics & Incident Response (DFIR)*. Network with pros, get job tips, and stay in the loop with the latest trends.
### 13. **Practice Cases & Mock Trials**
- **Set Up Mock Trials**: Role-play with friends where one is the hacker, another the victim, and you’re the investigator. Recreate cases from famous cybercrimes to see how you'd solve them.
- **Case Studies**: Research and recreate famous digital forensic cases. What steps did the investigators take? How would you handle it differently?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There you have it—your roadmap to becoming a cyber sleuth without dropping a dime. You don't have time find your interest after paying pennies to different ppl and colleges. You can explore multiple things from comfort of your home only if you want to.

Hey guys, just wanted to wish you all a merry Christmas. Discord is filled with ready-made messages that you don't even read, you just copy and paste to every server, I don't like that, I like writing from my heart. Our friendship, from the deepest to virtual, is very important to me and couldn't ever be represented by a cookie-cutter message from anywhere. So, I'd like to thank you all, you're the best hyperrealistic sonic mpreg server I've ever interacted with.

Rule #1: Be Aware. This is a shared space. You must be at least 18 years old to join this server. Individuals from all places and all walks of life congregate here. The sharing of personal information (name, location, etc.) is discouraged. Don't share personal images of anyone under the age of 18.
Rule #2: Be Respectful. Any disputes between members ought to be resolved privately. Disruptive behavior is not tolerated! No racism, sexism, hate speech, trolling, abuse, spam, picking fights, harassment, etc. Direct and indirect threats towards any other person are strictly prohibited and will incur an instant ban. Avoid discussing sensitive topics (examples: religion, politics). Try to keep the conversation relevant to the channel you are in. This is a multi-fandom, multi-shipping community. Hate directed at fandoms, characters, or ships is not allowed. While age gap ships are welcome, teacher/student ships are not (if characters are portrayed as teacher and student in canon material, do not share fanworks of those ships here). Don't steal content or ideas. Do not repost or share anything found here without the permission of that content's creator. When sharing content by others, they must be credited in your post. When sharing links to your content, ensure that it is thoroughly tagged in your post. Any NSFW content should be shared in the gated channels. No underage (less than 18 years old) or incestuous NSFW content (in ANY form, regardless of how brief it may be) is allowed in this server. Use tags and spoilers (if applicable) for “trigger warning” kind of content. Examples of warning tags: -Graphic depictions of violence -Character death -Rape/non-con/dub-con (A/B/O works are considered dub-con) Other things such as phobias, body horror, blood, etc, should also be tagged. If you would tag it on AO3 or a social media post, tag it here. If unsure, ask a mod for help!
Rule #3: Be Creative. This space was made so that content creators may meet and interact with each other and with fans of transformative works. It is encouraged (but not mandatory) to participate in Lounge events and challenges. Use this space to discuss your content and ideas, share tips, ask questions, etc.
Rule #4: Be Kind. This is meant to be a community. Remember to encourage and support one another. Visible support such as reblogging/retweeting, commenting, giving kudos, etc., ought to be considered part of being a Lounger. Do not simply use this server (or myself) as your marketing platform. Self-promotion is not only encouraged, but expected. However, when you promote your work, stick around to throw some support and encouragement at others.

Are you a meta writer? Do you want to share your ideas at the SWG’s birthday party?
Then you should read this post!
As you might have already seen, we’re hosting our own Mereth Aderthad next year to celebrate the SWG’s 20th birthday, and as part of it, we invite you to present your meta about Tolkien’s legendarium.
Presentations will be delivered live, either in-person or virtually.
Presentations should be 15 minutes in length.
While any topic related to Tolkien's works is acceptable, priority will be given to presentations with a significant Silmarillion component.
Proposals are due by January 15, 2025.
You’ve never done a presentation like this before or submitted a proposal?
Don’t worry! We’re here to help. In the coming months, we’ll be offering a variety of opportunities where you can find resources and support for first-time presenters, so you are ready to share your ideas and get that proposal submitted.
To learn more about these opportunities, subscribe to the SWG's weekly newsletter, join our Discord server, follow us on Tumblr, or follow us on Dreamwidth.
Proposals should be about 300 words in length and are due no later than January 15, 2025. Click here to submit a proposal. Questions are welcome at [email protected].
