Also, he's told he's not allowed to attend the Chaldea Holiday Party in his normal Santa Getup. Da Vinci said something about how 'even Santas deserve a day off during the holidays', but she really just wanted him to not get Into It with Santa Quetz.

Vlad (Lancer) would also wear ugly Christmas sweaters, but that's more dependent on the vibes of his Master, imo.

I’m not particularly short on ssr aoe sabers with mordred void!shiki muramasa and altera in NA but hnghhhhh artoria is calling for me on the anni ticket

like, logically I should go for tamamo or one of my st holes but my inner simp is crying out for my king

hell the only reason I opted for mordred on my last ticket is because I didn’t have the mats for artoria and hadn’t yet rolled altera and gramps... hell I STILL don’t have the mats for her don’t be a dumbass me stock up and wait for the next ticket ugh

I should probably not go for jack? vanilla shiki takes care of most my st assassin needs and jack is easy to find in support when she’s a must have? most of the time I prefer borrowing kama anyway... and castoria made ryoma much more viable he’s been absolutely slaving in the vaults and I can sub alter egos or zerks too so probably not quetz or ozzy... gil more than does the work of a st archer in a clutch and same castoria deal with chloe and santa altea/skadi worst come to worst... xuanzang isn’t THAT much better than my sheba/circe/magical shuten depending on the situation, at least not enough to make her worth a ticket and one of my supports has a nice one with black grail equipped for absolute emergencies, the fucking hero whoever they are... cu alter is easy to use and I’ve been absolutely abusing him in JP but my SR ST berserkers aren’t actually that bad in a cluth even if they’re not usually my first choice “I win” button like cu and from the few times I borrowed vlad he’s too squishy and stressful to use even with his def and guts skills... and liz’s have been reliably filling my ST alter ego needs since practically the month I started fgo

I think it’ll come down to tamamo or enkidu since none of my lancers satisfactorily fill that hole... but I already have all other caster supports and I rarely ever even use a support tamamo so I might be too unga bunga dum dum for the kind of strategizing she needs anyway

(Minor summer 4 spoilers)

After Osakabehime's match was Nitocris' casino. Her Casino was unique as it catered to the UBER rich and while the group was able to get in thanks to Ishtar's (forced) generosity, thanks to Hokusai's hard-headedness, they were promptly kicked out.

But thanks to a bit of luck, they did manage to get the challenge ticket.

Ishtar: I actually managed to win enough to trade for the challenge ticket before we were forced out!

Mari: good job Ishtar, now let's go again!

Ishtar: actually.... can I also ask a favor?

Ed: hmmm?

Ishtar: I had a gem that was precious to me but I lost it, and now it's in the hands of that stupid "Medjed" as their crowned jewel! And I need it back!

Mari: oh sure, we can do that for ya!

Ishtar: really?

Ed: yeah, you're a bud! And you won the ticket for us, so might aswell help you in return!

Ishtar: ok but.... there's super tight security so it won't be easy to get to....

Rex: well thankfully there's someone here who knows how to deal with that!

Carmilla: yes, as the great Phantom Thief, Mistress C I have the perfect plan to get through their defenses!

Ishtar: wow... I'm surprised you're all so willing to help me... thought I'd have to trick you into it....

Hokusai: now why would you think that? You're a friend! And friends help each other out!

So the beginning stages for the plan were put into motion. First they needed to recruit more members to help out including: Yu Mei Ren (despite Quetz's protests) Scathach, and Osakabehime. All three had important roles to fill that were crucial to Mistress C's plan! After that they gathered special items from Vlad that Mistress C had requested beforehand. Finally all the pieces were set, all that was left was to put them into action.

But something unforseen was in store for the group!

Carmilla: ok, now it's time! Let us go off to our target, and steal back the Eye of Medjed!

But when they reached the casino.... it was absolutely DESTROYED!

Rex: what?!

Quetz: huh?!

Carmilla: .....what happened here?!

The pyramid was in pieces, the stone medjeds were demolished and many customers were seen running away, and at the end a normal looking Nitocris was sitting there looking scared and distraught.

Yu: so.... while I realized this wasn't our doing.... I'm still very satisfied with the results!

Okki: while I'm, terrified!

The group went up to Nitocris, except Ishtar who desperately looked for her gem

Mari: Nito.... what the hell happened?!

Nito: I-I I don't remember.... I just came to and saw this place was a wreck and saw a huge bat beast and land shark run off! I assume they were the cause of the destruction....

Jeanne: ah.... so those two came and ruined everything, huh?

Nito: do you know who they are?

Ed: unfortunately, yes. They were likely searching for us, and we just missed them but you got caught in the crossfire.

Nito: why would they want to harm you?

Mari: it's a very long and complicated story....

Hokusai: uh... anyways, I realized things aren't going well right now, miss Pharaoh but I'd still like to dual with you... we have a ticket and everything...

Nito: normally I wouldn't want to, but it actually may get my mind off all of this, and I could definitely use the clear head, so yes! I shall accept your challenge!

Hokusai: Alright!

I like to believe Jackie's stripperiffic outfit and Blackbeard's unwholesome nerdery is the product of very bad influences from a master in another timeline. You know how Quetz loved lucha from one time? Yeah, like that but bad. Or how Vlad (Extra) was all creepy during the lunar grail war.

There's a Hall of Shame for masters out there for people like Celenike, who did irreversible unwanted changes to their Servant. Blackbeard's initial master was probably a "kindred spirit" who wanted to share similar interests while Jack's, well, had to make do because Shuten Douji wasn't available.

since they’re on a routine of updating the 5star servants of old, it leaves us with like...scathach, arturia(again), shuten, ishtar, jalter, tesla, da vinci, okita, nero bride, orion (full update this time), quetz, ozy, waver, xuanzang, jack, cleo, king hassan, vlad, cu alter, mhx, mhxa, jeanne and amakusa who still got bighead and old models in general and will likely get content relevant animation updates either events or through story.

ideas i had for possible saber mordred skill strengthens:

Mana Burst A ->  Mana Burst (Blood) A+:  - Increase Buster Performance for 1 turn. Increase damage against King enemies for 1 turn.  (standard little upgrade for Mana Burst, to allow Mordred to keep the anti-Artoria niche with a little extra bonus against other kings such as Quetz, Semiramis, and Vlad.) AND/OR

Instinct B -> Curse of le Fay A: - Gain critical stars. Increase own critical damage for 3 turns. Increase own critical star absorption for 3 turns. Grants self Guts status for 1 time, 3 turns.  (Instinct is crap, let’s be perfectly honest here. this upgrade gives Mordred more flexibility to escape the reputation of being a purely farming saber and adds a little extra lore flavor onto the kit, mirroring the entire “rose from death to deliver the fatal blow against Arthur” bit.)

EOR Shimosa Singularity: Chapter 15~END

Kinda taking a break in writing and this... Away from FGO for a breather until Oda Nobunga’s event rerun kicks in. My interest went elsewhere temporarily but I’ll definitely get back once LB4 or new event starts!

Chapter 15 & 16

Combining final two chapters into as there’s nothing much left. The first arrow is the final chance to grind for bond points before facing the final conclusion of the 3 remaining boss! 

1 Lancer Boar + 2 Assassin Ghost first wave, 3 Saber Samuari and one giant Lancer Orochi. So bring your required Servants to grind for bond in this final mob fight!

Second arrow... Where my Command Seals gone because of his fucking gimmick for this entire fucking fight! You’re facing Saber Emperiyo aka Yagyu Munemori with again, Musashi being locked for as your NPC support

Saber Empyrio has Human trait.

Gimmicks: 

Normal Attacks Removes Your Servant's Buffs.

He has a Permanent Mental Debuff Immunity

First HP Break: Gain a permanent Attack Up Buff for 5 Turns.

Second HP Break: Gain a permanent Defense Buff that Greatly Reduces the Amount of Damage Taken from Enemies' Normal Attack by 100%

Player's Front Party Gains a NP Gather Up Buff [Unremovable]

I know it doesn’t look hard to some... The most fucking annoying thing is his remove buff that also removes taunt! >.> Regardless bring your best Archer team to finish this fight

The second last battle, where you’re no longer NPC locked to fight Amakusa Shiro. Being an Avenger via plot reason, is your final fight your playable Servants in this Singularity

Gimmicks:

Amakusav has a Permanent Mental Debuff Immunity.

First HP Break: Gain a Critical Damage Up Buff for 5 Turns.

Player's Front Party Gains a Star Gather Up Buff for 5 Turns.

Second HP Break: Gain A NP Damage UP Buff for 5 Turns.

Player's Front Party Gains a Star Absorp Up Buff for 5 Turns.

With BB around since this is after CCC event, bring a party revolving her to defeat Amakusa!

Using NPC Musashi for this final fight, Saber Kojiro doesn’t have any gimmicks. Do your best to keep her alive and defeat the final boss of this Singularity!

The final two chapters are Visual Story Mode, which... The singularity has finally been completed!

Thoughts & Observation

This is actually difficult for me to say because... I delayed this so long to complete it. But quoted with Edmond’s words, “Wait and Hope” with the right Servants, it’s going to feel easy to complete. 

But otherwise immediately on the release to start the quest, it’s going to feel difficult if you ended up realizing you don’t have the right team to bring

On regards to NPC Musashi... Chronological order, this is the first they started with NPC support? If Shinjuku is tutorial mode HP bar, then Shimosa is Spartan tutorial for NPC-locked Servants for this.

I’m giving neutral as I don’t want to delve further that turned this post to a nasty anti post. She’s actually manageable if you can work around with the units you have to defeat your bosses

Hozoin Inshun

His boss fight is considered the easiet despite being support locked to Musashi. Given by the class affinity, it give players to get a feel of using her since she’s going to be locked to you in major boss fight

Skillset aside ignore evasion... Revolves buffing more and more on his normal attacks together with his NP. There’s also him debuff one of your Servant with NP seal, so careful your timing in releasing your NP

Which... By those buff if they actually stack... You’re in for a world of critfest. Yes, his gimmick already involving buff of crit chance so you want to avoid that!

HP recovery 3k per turn... With the right team, you’ll definitely be able to outdo that healing

Servants:

ST Sabers: Aside Musashi, you can always bring more like Bedivere and Caesar to back her up in killing him for DPS

Buff Removal Servants: Mainly you really don’t want his crit and attack buff to keep stacking

Aside from DW trying to screw every player’s phone from their fire animation... This is the start of the chapter where burn debuff is stackable

Given with that sudden change for that debuff, Tomoe’s first gimmick of normal attacks inflict burn debuff dealing 100hp per turn for 3 turns

Mental Debuff Immunity preventing her from being charmed and stunned by Servant’s NP/skills

With an ST NP that adds and even buff her burn status, her skillset lacks defensive with only guts to keep her alive. Yet, majorly all are buffing her attack and NP damage, so be careful of getting your Lancer and support killed

Servants:

ST Lancer: Once again, Cu Chulainn is one of your best candidate with guts, evade and own debuff removal + heal to keep himself alive while killing her. Other than him, there’s Diarmuid and Jaguar Man as alternative DPS

ST Berserker: Not that it’s not recommended... You’ll definitely need to find one that has its own debuff removal, or a support with them removes the burn from killing them

Taunters: Aside her NP, you’ll definitely want them to take in all the burn debuff away from your support and DPS

Debuff Removal: AOE skill/NP preferably to heal your whole front-line. Otherwise on ST skill/NP, priority is your Support and DPS to keep them alive.

The biggest headache isn’t her gimmick of debuffing your team on normal attack but HP break. Which, especially crucial if you need your support ready to activate their skill for defense from her NP

Thankfully it last for 5 turns... But RNG pretty much screwing you right there

Skillset has NP seal, increase arts performance, an additional curse debuff when normal attack, evasion + 1 unexpected NP charge

Her own NP also doesn’t help with HP break since it also debuff your one targeted Servant with Skill seal

Servants:

ST Casters: Medea definitely with her own buff removal NP as support and DPS hybrid to remove evasion and buffs to deal more damage against her.

AOE Caster: If you didn’t have Medea ready, AOE is still a choice since... Until Salem’s 4* ST NP Caster, most of the Caster are support or AOE. This is if you’re starting this Singularity upon release

Taunters: Again aside from debuff... You definitely don’t want her NP debuff to land on either DPS or support

Definitely the worst fight about this is Shuten’s charm and her class as Berserker for this Singularity

Raikou herself isn’t unless you actually brought Demonic Servants in your party

Gimmicks, definitely Shuten with a permanent buff that she drains your NP on normal attack and even a debuff immunity once HP break

Raikou isn’t that bad if you can handle for 5 turns of crit damage up buf

Servants:

AOE Assassin: The preferable Servants to have to wipe both Shuten and Raikou. But because aside Scathach, most of the AOE assassin are 5* and Kato will only be out once you finish this story. So if you don’t Scathach and want this for DPS, borrow either Shuten or Cleopatra for DPS

ST Assassin: Pick any for DPS with a support to buff and keep them alive from their AOE NP

AOE Berserker: Not your best answer to have... Just be careful for Raikou’s crit on HP break

By traits:

The one fight I’m YOLOing because of the lack of Riders... Which surprisingly survived thanks to George, Quetz, Ishtar and Mecha Eli-chan

And considering this isn’t Ashiya Douman’s true form plot wise... It’s somewhat easier? Except this is the fight with Lahmu with that constant spamming debuff on normal attacks

NP wise being your still typical giant ghost doing AOE attack that drains front-line Servants 

Servants:

ST Riders: Ushiwakamaru and your other available ST Riders definitely recommended to bring in this fight against him

Debuff removal Servants: Definitely needed on your DPS to keep them alive to deal damage at Douman

AOE Defense Servant: Party Evasion/Invincibility for against Ashiya Douman’s NP

Undead trait: Scathach & Martha

Large trait: Arthur

CEs:

Kiyohime CE & Holy Shroud of Magdalene: For a ghost.. He still got his trait. So do equip these CEs on both DPS & Support respectively

Healing increased CE: Particularly for your healers if needed thanks to his debuff spamming on normal attacks

NP generating CE: As his debuff spams that too, you can consider this equipped in attempt to get your NP charged as soon as you can

Yagyu Munemori

........ MY WHOLE COMMAND SEAL GONE BECAUSE OF THIS DAMN OLD MAN!

Excluding permanent buff from CE and gimmicks of this fight, The worst of this is basically his own permanent buff that removes all your Servant’s buff on normal attack.

You can’t even use taunt without that getting remove on his normal attack, but timing it on his usage of NP

Aside from ST NP that debuff attack... His skillset is one thing to be careful with a more offensive and strong defense himself. Also, he definitely has his third skill to charge NP unexpectedly by 1 tick

If you think the one I’m complaining is bad... The real hell begins on his second HP break, where he buffs himself with 100% defense against NORMAL attacks!

That 2nd HP break requires you to get your NP spamming to kill him... And the NP generation buff they give feels bullshit. Because your normal attacks on him doesn’t charge your NP quickly

Servants wise:

ST Archers: David, Billy & Robin. Your best three which this round.. I feel Euryale is unfit after my 2 attempts on this fight. One is partly his evasion and her own HP... 2nd is debuff immunity which rendered her NP charm and 2nd skill. Also since Taunt is rendered useless unless timed well, she’ll die quickly. The three above at least can help each other in both surviving and attacking

ST Berserker: I really don’t recommended because your taunters won’t be able to protect them from his normal attacks. However, it’s still a good risk if you got the right party to beat him

Taunters: Though I say I don’t recommended... They are still useful on his NP because he doesn’t remove them when he used it. It mainly help doing minimal damage against your support and DPS

Even having a class change, he’s still manageable to handle. But also don’t let your guard down with his NP and skillset

That includes the gimmicks that gives good chance of raining critfest upon first hp break, and NP damage up on the second

He has a mental debuff immunity so charm and stun effect like these will not work on him

Servants:

BB: This is already after CCC, so do bring a party revolving around her being the DPS to defeat Amakusa. Double BB also works well especially on the use of his NP... Otherwise, borrow your friend’s BB will do if you’re not able to get her

AOE Guts: More or less to keep BB and your support alive when Amakusa uses his buff removal from his NP to remove evasion/invincibility

Favorite fgo characters from a design perspective? (Doesn't have to be servants only)

hmm....Well, an easy top pick is Colombus. The artist for him Moto Murabito has what might be my favorite art style ever though so kinda cheating, and I don't like his battle sprites half as much. His final ascension in particular I don't like in battle; I get what it's going for but it just looks cluttered and gaudy (which might be the point given his character) and that's coming from a guy who tends to explicitly love the overdesigned stuff. Which leads me into whether I should pick based on battle sprite or pure artwork but I'm definitely inclined towards the latter while keeping the former in mind.

Someone who's the opposite is Achilles, don't like his general design and especially dislike his portrait arts, but I really like his final ascension battle sprite with the sort of lightweight power-armor motif.

On that note my most recent favorite and possibly my absolute favorite is Aśvatthāman for sure. Every single one of his ascensions is gorgeous to look at and I regularly can't decide if I like his second or third more.

Martha is one of the few Summer servants who I consider to have a flat out better design than their original. You get a nice summer hat and dress, a jacket that wouldn't look out of place on Kazuma Kiryu (personal favorite), or Beach Episode Tifa.

Of course there's Siegfried, a design so good it suckered me into wasting my SR ticket on him cause I stupidly believed the bit people parrot about picking who you want being the most important. Fucking liars this game is a slave to meta. But it's a fantastic design and fuck his summer outfit for covering most of it up. Same goes for Casgil actually. I’m 100% on board with the Siegfried is Fafnir theory and if its true his design is flat out genius.

Lanling/Gao is just fcking infuriatingly gorgeous and possibly my pick for best visual representation of their legend, certainly tied with Siegfried for it. Relatedly Yu Mei Ren in both art style, animations, and against all odds actual outfit is *chef’s kiss*. Funny how a series that so routinely grossly oversexualizes characters got a character literally named Consort Yu PERFECT with a design that fits her origin and character stylization beautifully. The sheer anguish on display in some of her portraits is wonderful as well and very important to nailing her character in lb3 while also being a great contrast when she’s frequently used in gags for events.

“Inferno” has m my favorite portraits of any character in the game, full stop. I take psychic damage every time it shows her sad expression. Ponytail supremacy though!

Nobunaga across all forms is absolutely perfect in just about every sense and is tied with Vlad III for third place after those other 2 for my pick of best representing their counterpart. Docked points for the genderbend but its made up for by sheer art style (especially with avenger nobu) and personality on display.

Some more low key designs that I still very much love include base Nyalter (i ABSOLUTELY HATE her ascensions though) and Kotarou and Billy’s final ascensions (which i can only describe as fcking badass), as well as Vlad as aforementioned for just perfectly capturing the halfway point between himself and Dracula (ngl i do not care for extra vlad’s design.)

Shakespeare’s design is actually what initially drew me to him even more than his identity and all i can say is im so glad such a fantastic character has such a good design AND one of the absolute coolest final ascension artworks; i’m a big sucker for red and black glowing stuff. Tangentially related but Jalter’s base is easily her best form.

Ruler Quetz, Astraea, Barge Chest, and Hassan of Hundred Personas all get mention for being among the only female characters allowed to be jacked as hell. More of that.

Mandricardo, Rider Quetz (despite lack of muscle), and Beni all deserve a spot here just for their masterful use of color throughout their entire designs. Beni also gets special mention alongside Ashtart and Okita Alter for utterly gorgeous sword attack animations, with Okita Alter probably having the best sword np in the game.

Zerkerlot is a unique case, because he looked amazing in Fate Zero but lost that in fgo because the whole reason he looked amazing was the use of cgi to give him this not-quite-human touch to his movements which fit his character perfectly, and it was infinitely better done than whatever tf they did with Herc in Heaven’s Feel.

Mozart and Salieri have got to be another easy pair for the list, not only are they just visually interesting as hell to look at, but Mozart’s is an amazing flip of his origin story and Salieri in everything from portrait to battle sprite to attack animations is absolutely overflowing with character. (Except his np for some ungodly reason that is some weak fcking shot right there)

And lastly there’s Coffin Archer, Gramps, Oberon, and Dantes, all to the surprise of literally no one because those are the free spaces on the favorite fgo design bingo card. There’s nothing i can say about how good their designs are that hasn’t already been said.

In terms of non player characters my favorites are typically those who i feel have designs that fit the character’s intended impact. Goredolf, Romani, ‘Solomon,’ Kadoc, Daybit, ‘Sigurd’, and the Demon God Pillars in the pseudo singularities are ALL examples of what i mean, with the non humans listed there also just looking REALLY fcking cool as a bonus.

Basically i look for three things in a servant design: Color, complexity, and/or authenticity. If a servant’s design isn’t something that screams their identity, then it had better be something interesting on its own. And as for what i dislike, it’s when it’s something completely unfocused on what the character is supposed to be or really anything that prioritizes sexualizing them over having a good design, which is sadly why so many of these picks are sadly male servants. I despise how many female characters are short, model-like and muscleless (even when it’s someone like Quetz who we had to wait for santa quetz to get her with some goddamn muscle despite it supposedly being a defining trait for her) or just utterly stupid in their anatomy for the sake of catering to incels who find the very concept of an independent woman terrifying. It’s why there’s always a catch with female servants be it a motherly obsession, an over sexualized as hell design, a deep seated emotional vulnerability that makes them dependent on the player, or just being absurdly short. Meanwhile the male servants regularly get to actually be designed with their legend and ONLY their legends in mjnd resulting in far more varied yet coherent designs on a lot of fronts. Also every child servent design that isn’t 1st ascension Abby or 2nd ascension Voyager can die in a fire.

Oh Wise Master of FGO, what should I do?Before the guaranteed SSR Servant leaves which category should I summon from? I have enough for 2 summons. My current 5* are Saber-Arthuria, Lancer-Karna, Caster-Tamamo, Caster-Waver, Berserker-Vlad, and Avenger-Jeanne. I also have a Np.3 Rider-Martha. Which would be the Class best to summon? I have horrible draws most of the time and haven’t gotten any servant over 3* in months.

……… Again, I’m not sure if I’m the best one to ask for because I YOLOed my rolls + gameplay but… Just take it with a pinch of salt… OTL

For the GSSR, you can choose only ONE among the Seven Class banner

So it boils down to what do you really want the most or actually NEED the most in your current gameplay

Saber: I only know about her being relatively not that good as many said currently until next year’s strengthening quest? But that’s just me because I don’t have her… So if you prefer better Saber like Mordred or Altera, you can go for Saber?

Archer: I’ve been hearing it’s not that worth it especially the given “better” SSR is Telsa and Orion is debatable if you already have Euryale raised high level. The latter is more preferred than the SSR usually in male boss fight

Lancer: Karna by far is the best AOE Lancer in story mode given wise. Unless you do wish for ST NP Lancer like Enkidu, you can try rolling but as you said, RNG is a bitch to everyone

Caster: I think personally if you already have these two… You can skip this banner unless you wished to NP2 them? Xuangzang herself ain’t that bad actually for a ST NP DPS Caster if you do get her

Rider: Martha by far is considered the better “budget” version of Amakusa since she removes party debuff and single target enemy buffs. Getting her NP4 isn’t that bad, though you’ll need to pray your SR ticket to get her at NP5 OTL But seeing your rider, I think you can try to get either Ozymandias or Quetz? I have both in NA and JP respectively and both are really good ST NP riders given with their own skillsets and similar NP effect to NP seal debuff on their enemy

Assassin + Extra: ………….. This is really debatable because later at 8pm in NA timing there’s King Hassan banner coming. And yes, he’s by far the most recommended Assassin to get and hardest too because he’s limited. And, he only have TWO banner of his rate up. But if you prefer more of generating of stars, you can try to get Jack. I have her in JP and with Yan Qing or stand alone, she generates good amount of stars + spam NP when needed.

Of course, in that banner there’s Jeanne which still so far recommended especially when her second interlude kicks in removing her stun and upgrading her NP later to remove party debuffs too

Berserker: I think Vlad is okay? But if you do want better Berserker… The one harder to get but by far the best is Cu Alter himself. His evasion and guts helps a lot in Berserker main weakness of surviving. Otherwise, there’s Nightingale, a healer but you’ll need good team to keep her alive most of the time OTL But, she has a strengthening next year that gives one of your Servants debuff immunity + insta-death immunity. The latter being more viable given in Lostbelt everyone decided to throw out insta-death skills & NP on your team

Overall, it’s really depend on what you want or need the most. If you’re going for waifu/husbando, then follow your heart by all means! Otherwise just take it with a pinch of salt and ask around ^^; Just need to remember RNG is really a bitch so far in everyone’s daily gacha life in FGO OTL
