This is probably something that I shouldn't take seriously but I feel like voicing my thoughts on it now that I'm thinking about it. You might even tell me to shut up about it, but you can't stop me so here we are.

This is still about Vox and Val's relationship, and I'm just not understanding it. Like what even are they?? I know there's some sexual tension between them, but it doesn't sum it up completely cuz apparently they're not even dating like that. It probably confuses me cuz I've never been in a relationship before, or even an on-and-off relationship. I don't even think I've ever been in love in my life (Unless it's with a fictional cartoon character)

So somewhere on a site (not sure if it was from a q&a or she replied to someone about it on social media) Viv confirmed that Vox and Val aren't really dating, however, there is some chemistry and sexual tension between them. Which perplexes me. If they have "chemistry" or "sexual tension", why are they not dating? They might as well be a thing. So I'm assuming that if they don't like each other like that, but will still have sex when they feel like it, then they must have a fwb (friends with benefits) relationship. Which I guess I can understand??

But whenever I read their wikia page, it will state that Val and Vox ARE romantically involved, it's just on and off. Which confuses me even more!! So which is it?? Are they together or not? Do they even like each other??

I'm gonna get slightly off topic and say I don't really like that kind of relationship anyway, where your just an on and off lover to someone. I don't mean to judge anyone who has a relationship like that, but I just don't get it, lol! Like why does it have to be on and off?? So as soon as somebody asks, "Are you with somebody? Are you in love with them", you reply with, "Oh we're together, but we're sometimes not together. We like each other, but we sometimes don't like each other."

Like-- why does it have to be like that?? Do you wanna date them or don't you? I just feel like someone's gonna get hurt in the end if you continue that kind of relationship. This is the kind of thing where something has to be decided before making it official.

Back to the topic, I don't think I can believe a word Viv says about her characters at this point. Cuz she'll say one thing, but it's something totally different in the show. Then again, I don't think I can trust the wikia page either, cuz it's usually just some rando typing what they believe to be true when it's sometimes not 100% accurate.

I'm curious, if you guys have any thoughts about what Vox and Val are to each other, feel free to comment about it, cuz I actually am curious.

I said this before in my own blog, but I really hope that there’s actual tension and intimidation between Alastor and Vox, like I hope it goes way deeper than just edgy teen comebacks or “haha im way better than you boomer!”

Like as we know, vox is the only person that could make Alastor genuinely pissed off and curse, based off the comic (could be outdated but who knows)

And since he’s bound to be a bigger scope antagonist there has to be something between him and Al as rivals, I wanna see a fight between them. Idk I just want them to be actually intimidating to each other, it’s one of the only things in genuinely invested in the show

Oh yeah same here, as soon as I heard Alastor had a rivalry with a certain character, it did peak my interest since he (despite the flaws for me) is an interesting character within himself. However my biggest fear is that the relationship between him and Vox will just be a copy of Blitz and Fizzarolli, where they just throw petty insults at each other, and it comes more off as two annoying middle schoolers beefing with eachother rather than two intimidating rulers clashing because of their differences. The concept of someone who’s kept up with the times and someone who wants to STAY in his time could be interesting, especially since it’s literally Radio Vs. Television, the potential is there it’s just…..Vivziepop is the writer of this, and I’m worried that it’ll just be edgy coded. Viv did state that we would see a fight between Alastor and Vox, and while Vox himself isn’t necessarily a character I’m interested in or think will be all that good, I want him to be intimating too, especially since he’s supposed to be a villain. Viv in my opinion struggles with making characters intimidating for me due to her 6th grade level style writing, so I don’t have high hopes for both characters. All I can say is that I pray the rivalry isn’t anything like what the comic showed us.

Love how in every CR campaign it is established early and reaffirmed frequently who has the best tits in each party. For Bell's Hells it's Fearne. For Vox Machina it's Vex. For Mighty Nein... it's Fjord. And I think that's beautiful

I finished my rewatch/relisten of the Vox Machina campaign in mid-December (although I recently re-embarked on the second half of the Chroma Conclave arc hoping season 3 of TLVOM will be announced (released?? 🤞) by the time I reach "A Bard's Lament"). Predictably, I bawled, AGAIN, but by then I'd already been scribbling and sketching ideas for this for... a couple of weeks? Hence the little WIP preview last month.

I'll never shut up about this moment. It's just as beautiful as it's heartbreaking, in- and off-game, especially taking into account all the context of characters/people involved.

Also, bonus, because after I finished sketching that 6th frame I thought a hug was needed.

This one was first published about a month ago on my Patreon. I tried to imagine what kind of portrait would Delilah and Sylas commission a painter to decorate Castle Whitestone have they defeated Vox Machina. I love how they weaponize their sexiness alongside their sheer lack of empathy for everyone but themselves and their evil god to obliterate their enemies. Relationship goals, really.

Probably because people were shipping Val x Vox and the old instagram had them together. So Viv probably gave in those shippers.

That seems to be the case with all her ships. It's not canon unless her fans eat it up and she'll end up giving them what they want. It's how I believed Cherri and Sir Pentious became canon. Husk and Angel are probably heading there for the same reason. Vox and Val are probably on and off cuz Viv saw it on Instagram and said, "Y'know what, I'll do that too."
