ALGS 2023 Split 2 Playoffs players to watch

The Apex Legends Global Series is returning to London, England this week as the 2023 ALGS Split Two playoffs LAN event kicks off on July 13. The very best Apex players in the world will compete, but which ones should you pay attention to? With 120 players dropping into World’s Edge and Storm Point to battle for the lion’s share of a $1 million USD prize pool, we’ve picked a few must-watch players. From seasoned veterans to the most exciting up-and-coming prodigies in Apex Legends, here are our players to watch for the ALGS Split Two playoffs. Our 8 must-watch players at the ALGS 2023 Split 2 playoffs Fnatic YukaF As the leader of APAC North’s number one squad, Fnatic’s Yuga “YukaF” Horie is not a player to sleep on. The 19-year-old IGL has proven he has what it takes to lead his team to consecutive victories over their region this year whilst also topping the APAC North charts for kills while he was at it, according to Apex Legends Status. This is in no small part due to his now-legendary movement skills in combination with his excellent aim. During this year’s ALGS Split One playoffs, the young captain put up 14 kills and 13 assists himself during the Finals matches alone. YukaF’s playstyle is intelligent and tricky, making him a fearsome opponent for even the best squads in the world TSM ImperialHal This is a boring pick, but they don’t call him the CEO of Apex Legends for nothing. While Philip “ImperialHal” Dosen has had his ups and downs during his career in the ALGS, there’s no denying that the current incarnation of TSM he leads is in great form right now. Alongside Evan “Verhulst” Verhulst and Jordan “Reps” Wolfe, ImperialHal and TSM won this year’s Split One playoffs right after taking home the North American Pro League trophy in Dec. 2022, and they have maintained a top-ten placement through results in other LAN events as well. It’s clear that Hal is a key part of this squad’s success; Verhulst has previously praised his IGL’s calling during key matches, and ImperialHal taking the Monster Energy MVP award during this year’s Split One playoffs shows that his experience and skill are still as sharp as ever. Hal particularly seems to thrive whenever he enters as an underdog or if the crowd is rooting against him, so we expect to see him maintain his form even under the intense pressure of attempting to go back-to-back in London. ATHXHVY Vlatow ATHXHVY is an entirely Brazilian squad composed of Lucas “Vlatow” Torres, Ezequiel “asleep” Gomes Rocha, and Luan “TriNITYzy” Felipe. They have shown significant improvement between Splits this year, jumping from a sixth-place finish in the South American Pro League for Split One to finishing runners-up in Split Two. https://twitter.com/Vlatow/status/1649613320155021313 When it comes to the squad’s firepower, Vlatow is front and center. The young Brazilian racked up the most kills and assists of the three during this most recent Split. If he is able to perform at this peak during this week’s Split Two playoffs, we expect him to be a dangerous opponent in any lobby. JLINGZ Esports Naghz Ali “Naghz” Naghawi made a splash during this year’s ALGS Split One playoffs, where he and his former teammates Zaine Kazi and Ameer “VJEIX” Hassan made a respectable run through their first LAN under the JLINGZ banner. While they bowed out in 22nd place, the LAN experience the team will have gained will be invaluable for their second LAN event this week. https://twitter.com/ApexJourno/status/1637207664420700160 After new additions Cameron “Noiises” Walker and Jake “Jmw” Walters joined in March, Naghz has been able to shine, with the squad finishing fifth in the league leading up to playoffs. With a penchant for getting double-digit kills during matches, we’re expecting to see Naghz and JLINGZ pop off in front of their home crowd again. XSET Nocturnal XSET have been pioneers in the Apex Legends space since their days under the Team Liquid banner in early 2022, and Brandon “Nocturnal” Singer is a key part of that game-changing legacy. While coach Harris “hodsic” Hodzic is often credited with strategies like using Loba on Storm Point, Nocturnal has consistently stepped up for this team when they’ve needed him the most. For example, despite battling a nasty anxiety attack during the final day of last year’s North American Pro League, the former TL squad crushed the day, with Nocturnal walking away with 13 kills on his own across the day’s six matches. Noc is nothing if not a professional when it comes to playing Apex and is clearly able to perform under immense pressure—be it internal or external. https://twitter.com/oh_Nocturnal/status/1508649256399392774 This year has been no different, with Nocturnal showing off a combination of excellent calling and sniping skills during this year’s North American Pro League. Once XSET gets on the LAN stage, Nocturnal will definitely be one we expect big things from. PULVERX Ftyan Japan’s Takumi “Ftyan” Kanasashi, alongside his former teammate Kochi “Lejetta” Naoto, won over the community during last year’s ALGS Championship after making a valiant two-man run through the tournament’s losers bracket after losing both of their teammates due to COVID-related issues. Though Fnatic has been dominating in the APAC North ALGS league—the top spot for both splits—PULVERX has managed to qualify for the Split Two playoffs in no small part thanks to Ftyan. His heroic performances during the 2023 regular seasons led PULVERX to the top for placements in each game and most second-place finishes in their region, leading us to name him one of the current top ALGS players. NRG Gild During his Team Liquid days in early 2022, NRG’s Zachary “Gild” Dennis was often hailed as a prodigy. The now 20-year-old made enough of a splash in the competitive scene with TL that he was brought onto NRG in August of that year to complete the squad of Chris “sweetdreams” Sexton and Nathan “Nafen” Nguyen. Since Gild joined NRG, the team has won several B-tier events and claimed second place in this year’s Split One playoffs. He alone landed 16 kills and 11 assists during the finals of Split One and remained a constant threat all throughout Split Two. Gild’s raw skill has been honed with experience at LAN events, which, in combination with sweetdreams’ calling and Nafen’s versatility, should mean great things ahead for the young NRG star. Alliance Yuki Alliance has been the darlings of EMEA ALGS for a while now, showing that though the region has underperformed at big events, one EMEA rep is able to consistently stand toe-to-toe with the rest of the world. Oscar “Yuki” Jiang has been no small part of that legacy. He joined the squad back in 2021 and has been a consistent performer for them ever since. Alliance took home fifth place at the Split One playoffs this year and went on to win the EMEA league for Split Two. During the EMEA Split Two finals, Yuki put up 14 kills and 14 assists, with an impressive 7 kills during the ninth and final game to help the squad over the finish line. I’m rewriting the animation novel again. It’s happening. Because I was getting the feeling that the last full draft was well-written...but lacked strong direction and was generally boring. So I’m synthesizing aspects of this last draft with aspects of the novel’s very earliest drafts, plus stuff that wasn’t in either. And I’m experimenting with writing it the same way I wrote my most recent Star Wars fic: in short chapters, that get straight to the point of what’s interesting, and alternating perspectives.

How the novel started (from a draft noted as “early 2008″):

There would always be those who saw their position at the Hyperion Animation Studio as nothing more than a job. It certainly was a practical outlook on life, made all the more palatable when you considered the present state of society. These were hard times, and during the Depression you worked to put food on the table, not to advance an art form—for those outlandish enough to ever consider children’s cartoons an “art form.”

How it’s going circa 2022:

There would always be those who saw their positions at the Sidney Walters Animation Studio as merely a job, which: fair enough. During the Great Depression, people needed work to make money, to eat, to maintain the state of being alive, and with any luck, sustain more than simply the state of existing as a human being on this mortal plane. The problem was that, according to Michael Matveyev’s new supervisor, Rudy Rodriguez, merely going through the motions was not going to be good enough for Michael to even keep his position in the long run.

Current wordcount: 3k words

As per the novel’s last draft, Michael has a chronic stutter. As per the first draft, I’ve brought back one of the most charming aspects of him, which was the quiet gentleness that he treated his romantic interest, Evan. His anxiety in the last draft tended to give him a sharp edge at times. I’m toning that down in favor of focusing on his situational depression. This first chapter of the new draft is very cute, if I do say so myself, and utilizes the time-honored trope of “there was only one bed, your honor.”

NON-LIVEPLAY GAMES, MARCH 2163 - ‘Double Trouble’

OBJECTIVE: “DOUBLE TROUBLE” is a LAST TWO STANDING, ‘Hunger Games’ style game and will commence at sunrise. Survivors will begin the game as every individual for themselves, at the edge of the gaming grounds. When the starting horn sounds, survivors may choose to take a chance at The Hoard for weapons and resources, or head straight for the woods. Forming alliances is recommended, but remember, alliances are temporary and can change.

TEAMS: None. 1 vs. All, Personal Alliances only.

WEAPONS: This game will include ALL COLONY-APPROVED TRAINING WEAPONRY. Players begin the game without arms, but may obtain them at The Hoard or at hidden caches around the gaming grounds.

*HIT LIMIT: 1 *KILL LIMIT: 1

KILL PROTOCOL: SURRENDER; Participants who reach Kill Limit are immediately eliminated and must report back to the games staging area.

ADDITIONAL RULES AND INFO:

⚒The game will commence in a clearing at the edge of the gaming grounds, with the treeline ahead (NE). In the clearing, to the SE, will be The Hoard, a large resource and weapon supply. At the start of play, participants may choose to run for it first, or bypass it and head to safety.

⚒Personal alliances may consist of 2 to 5 participants from any house. They must never exceed 5 players. Alliances are based on an honour system; there are no official rules against targeting an ally.

⚒’Sponsor Kits’ can be found hidden throughout the grounds. If an individual receives a hit but has a Sponsor Kit, they may use it to remain in the game. Sponsor Kits are metal cylinders about ten inches long and 3 inches in diameter, and contain a cloth bandage which can be tied at or around the point of the recent hit. Sponsor Kits are one time use only; when the seal is broken, a vial of dye will shatter and soak into the white bandage to indicate its use.

⚒The winning pair may be from the same house, or different houses. Throughout the game, an individual’s achieved kills earn points towards their respective houses, and the winners will get to keep these for their house, plus an extra 250 points. In the case of winners from two different houses, both houses will receive their respective earned house points, plus 250 for the win.

⚒All PDD messaging capabilities have been disabled for the Games. They function only to receive notifications.

“Bloodbath” - the First Hour

When the horn blares, about half the games participants head straight for the cover of the trees, while the others book it to The Hoard: the huge weapons stash in the clearing. Charlie Essex and JR are among this group. JR gets there first, quickly holstering two handguns, and is about to go for some grenades, when Charlie waves at him with a supply backpack in hand and they both run off. It’s not until they get deeper into the gaming grounds that they realize Charlie’s ‘bag of supplies’ is woefully empty.

Back at the weapon stash, it’s still pandemonium. Draco Pavlović gives Mei Zhu Fitrei a bloody nose in a scuffle over a sniper gun. Alexander Donovan finds Annie Perrault hyperventilating behind a weapons rack, white knuckling a bow. He shoves a quiver into her hands and tells her to run, watching her back as she nervously complies. Meanwhile, Felix Turner and Rosalind Stein nearly collide going for the same bag of supplies. Rose is confident she can easily overpower Felix, until he starts literally shrieking like a maniacal banshee. His wordless wail makes for such an alarming scene, that she opts just to retreat.

Underdogs, Constantin Lupei and Adrien Bennett decide they’ll start off the hour strong, and team up to ambush the next pair of people they see… which turn out to be Mei Zhu and Alex. This backfires dramatically, and Costin and Ajay are among the first half dozen players eliminated. Angel Thorne follows suit when he decides to simply walk off the gaming grounds. He is immediately disqualified.

“All for One…” - Hour 2

Hour two is the time to start forming alliances. Lake Valentine is travelling with Lissy McCall and Annie Perrault, but he dooms them all when he accidentally sets off an InertiaShell. They are all caught in the red vapour and slowed to a crawl. Annie passes out from the effects of the grenade and her usual exhaustion and while trying to wake her, Lissy and Lake become very easy targets when they get attacked by Caelan Whitmer and Arvo Covey. Annie, Lissy and Lake are all eliminated.

Roy Walters hasn’t come across anyone he trusts to team up with, so resolves to lay low. He manages to steal a Sponsor Kit from Mitch Douglas when the elite isn’t looking, and then camouflages himself into some bushes. Meanwhile, Petra Starr convinces a handgun wielding Teilo Aisling not to shoot her, only to shoot him with his own weapon as soon as he agrees to the alliance. Orson Hurst, Maisie Pace, Mason Quinley and Mira Sigar come together to form an only slightly more promising lineup.

Rosalind is fashioning an illegal slingshot up in a tree when she spots wifey Josephine Parker and quickly pairs up with her. As for Charlie and JR, despite their slightly disappointing start, they’ve stuck together and take out Emmanuel Trent as their first victim.

“Acclimating” - Hour 3

Bode Lindqvist has kept to himself but has proven resourceful. He is well armed and has already found a couple of Sponsor Kits. When Koda Payne and Clayton Boyd attack him with ranged weapons, he manages to evade them and escape unscathed. Orson is much less lucky, when he is briefly separated from his group and finds a stash of grenades that apparently Dylan Meir had also had her eye on. Orson grabs a couple tilt grenades, but his nerve-damaged hands spasm, and he drops one, setting it off. With Orson briefly incapacitated by the blue vapour, Dylan has plenty of time to shoot him with an arrow, grab the rest of the grenades, and take off. Nearby, another woman is kicking some nerd-boy ass; Charlotte Williams effortlessly picks off Kip, acquiring his Sponsor Kits.

Koda and Clay try again to make an impact: they sneak up on JR and Charlie in the woods, only this time, they’ve thought it through and have set up traps in the area. They even manage to take out JR with a well-aimed arrow. Charlie then chases both Koda and Clay, firing his handgun as he goes. He eliminates Koda with a stim in the back, then lets off a wayward shot just as he bulldozes into one of the traps and falls to the ground. The weapon skids across the forest floor, but the last shot has caught Clay in the shoulder. Fortunately, the Delma has a Sponsor kit, which he uses to survive. He doesn’t have to go it on his own too long, however, as he runs into Corbin Ealy, who’s trying to evade a prowling Kaiser Bahr. They hide together (because fuck that noise), then decide to team up.

Left alone after Kip’s elimination, Arvo stumbles across Enoch Lynch, while he is caught in hand to hand combat with Paxton Semenyuk, and steps in to help. She and Enoch form a new alliance (which we’d like to coin ‘NET’: Newbie Elite Transfers). Alois Van Asch, on the other hand, is a bit slow on the uptake, and has been wandering the grounds somewhat aimlessly, enjoying the (mostly) quiet of the woods. At one point he is spotted just gazing at the sky.

“Imprudent Behaviour” - Hour 4

Fate, never a kind mistress, soon interferes with Bode’s chances. While he is distracted by an unfortunate issue with his hearing aids, Jo and Rosalind steal the weapons he’d set down and make a break for it. As they run, however, they encounter Dante Carrington; true to form, the Good Doctor puts rules first and disqualifies Rosalind for the illegal slingshot in her grasp. This is witnessed by Corbin and Clay, who were drawn in by the kerfuffle. Corbin reckons it would be hilarious to orchestrate an ambush against Colony 22’s biggest Tight Ass, and with Bode still nearby, it’d be like ‘taking biscuits from a baby’. Fortunately, it doesn’t take much convincing, and the three of them take Dante out without any issue.

Meanwhile, Draco climbs high up into the branches of a tree, seeking a moment to formulate a plan. Aurelia Ferris chooses this particularly inopportune time to walk by, and she doesn’t even see who shot her. Diederick D’Mornay, the perpetual gentleman, spots Anaya Dolman with a Sponsor Kit and doesn’t have any trouble liberating it from her. Emboldened by his success, he gives chase to a couple of other totally threatening Calysets: Mira and Maisie. In his hasty pursuit, he loses his footing and face-plants on the forest floor.

Unlike Ricky, Petra Starr has a little moral fortitude. Alois has grown excruciatingly bored of the Games and asks Petra, (who has now paired up with housemate, Dylan) to just shoot him so he can go the fuck back inside and sleep; obviously this wouldn’t be the same as earning an elimination and would basically be cheating, so Petra declines.

After his temporary alliance with Clay and Corbin, Bode decides to roam alone again, which backfires when Madison Vega eliminates him quickly with a sniper. Persephone Evans and her bleeding heart take a moment to tend to a small injury Cambie Andrews has sustained, but they have to run when they spot Clove Modius and Benji Imes approaching.

“Homestretch” - Hour 5

It’s the final countdown and about halfway through the fifth hour, we’re left with eight tiring finalists. Of these eight, seven of them are in two different alliances. The first such alliance is made up of Torren ladies, Ada Woollacott, Petra Starr, Dylan Meir and Charlotte Williams. The second is a group of egomaniac loudmouths: Corbin Ealy, Draco Pavlović and Diederick D’Mornay. Madison Vega is the eighth finalist, currently remaining a one-woman operation.

Catching a glimpse of Charlotte through the trees, Draco splits off from his group to chase after her, ignoring the protests from his allies. He proves himself rather too big for his boots when he catches up with Charlotte to find her not alone at all, and the team of girls take him out, Charlotte’s Angels style. Nearby and hearing the shouts, Maddie is so caught up watching her back that she steps right into a snare set hours before by Roy. With no one to come to her rescue, it’s endgame for her, too.

But time is running out, so the Charlie’s Angels gang decide to pair off to cover more ground. Petra finds Ricky vulnerable while he does a damage check from his earlier painful fall, and gets him in the back with a stim, while Charlotte manages to catch Corbin similarly unaware. Just like that, the prideful Delmas are out of the running. But while Charlotte and Petra were away steamrolling the Delma boys, Ada had immediately turned traitor, submitting Dylan with a pair of chameleons around her neck.

So naturally, when what’s left of Ada’s allies return, Ada is on the offensive. There can only be two winners, and Ada wants to make sure she’s one of them. Unfortunately for her, feral strength won’t be enough this time; she launches herself at Petra and Charlotte but is overpowered by their exceptional teamwork and clear heads. Moments later, the victory horn sounds: Charlotte and Petra have officially become an unlikely pair of winners. Between Charlotte’s congenital heart defect and Petra’s only recently recovered ankle injury, it is a victory hard-earned and well-deserved.

I feel like Henry’s love language is seeing how wet he can make you before you cum. Like, if you’re not dripping wetness down his balls by the time he has you right on the edge then he feels he’s not done his job. What do you think his love language actually is? Or his different character’s love languages?

Yesssss for these types of asks, I live for them! First of all, OOF. Thanks for that image. I’ll take five.

Secondly, we’ll tackle Henry first, then I’ll get to his characters. I’d like to clarify that I don’t know him and all my thoughts are purely my own, I have no idea what he’s actually like in person. However, based on photos and videos and things he’s said in interviews, I believe his strongest love languages are Touch and Quality Time. I could, however, also see Words of Affirmation being in the mix, based on his tendency toward low self-esteem. I myself am an anomaly, in that my strongest love language is ALL OF THEM (I’ve taken the test multiple times, all the answers are tied or one point apart), so it’s quite possible to have three that are very close together.

Now, onto the characters!

Steven Colley’s strongest love languages are Touch and Gifts, specifically Gift Giving. He saves his hard earned money for months to buy Cassandra a used present for her birthday because he knows she wanted one. Also whenever you see the two of them in a scene, he’s typically as close to her as he can get.

Mikey is also Touch. Hardcore, he loves physical contact. He constantly has his arm around someone, or is picking them up, or placing kisses on foreheads, and don’t even get me started on that hallway scene. OOF.

Melot’s love language is Words of Affirmation. He grows up feeling consistently second place to Tristan, and is always denied the words he craves from his uncle. This ultimately leads to his downfall.

Randy is also Touch. We don’t see much of him, but what we do see of him he’s either got Melody on his lap, or in his arms some way or another. (I’m starting to sense a pattern in Henry’s acting choices)

Evan’s strongest love language is Words of Affirmation. Similarly to Melot, this hearkens back to a lack of receiving this from his father (father figure in Melot’s case). There is a pivotal scene where Evan and his brother get into an argument that makes this very clear.

Charles Brandon is also Words of Affirmation, but for vastly different reasons. He is best friend to a volatile and finicky king, and he never knows if he’s made the right decision. He has a constant need to do the right thing, and needs someone there to tell him that he is doing so, or in the alternative, when he is doing wrong, which I would consider an Act of Service.

Theseus is Quality Time, and Words of Affirmation. He spends most of his time with his mother, and even when he is with the virgin Oracle, he wants to know her more than just physically. And he thrives off of being told that what he’s doing is worth it.

Will’s love language is Acts of Service. You don’t see this so much through what other people give him, but often people will love others the way they want to be loved, and this movie is filled with Will committing Acts of Service for others.

Clark Kent/Kal-El’s love languages are Touch and Words of Affirmation. He lives in constant fear of touching someone too hard, so when someone touches him he leans into it. And he also has a need to know that he is doing the right thing, making the right choices.

Outwardly, Napoleon Solo’s love language looks like gifts, but it’s actually Quality Time. He thinks he needs no one, is perfectly happy living life alone, but by the end of the movie he realizes that life is better when it is shared with people.

I like to think that Syverson’s love language is Gifts. The hand gun he carries, the mug he drinks out of... there not something you would typically see in a warzone, and that’s because he brought them with him. They are special to him, given to him by special people and they remind him of who he’s fighting for.

August Walker is Words of Affirmation. There’s a subtle shift in his face and posture when he hears the phrase “The Hammer”, and the lack of affirmation from his job and the government is what leads to his creation of the Manifesto.

Walter craves Touch and Quality Time. In his job he sees so much trauma, that when he’s home he needs his people to be really close. He’ll always have a hand on you somehow when he’s home, and he loves when you stroke his hair, snuggle up to him and watch a movie. Just be there, be present.

Geralt is Acts of Service. Similarly to Will Shaw, you don’t see people doing things for the Witcher so much as you see him doing it for others. But when someone does something for him, treats him with kindness, it’s so unexpected and feels so foreign that he pushes it away, even though it’s what he craves the most.

The Slytherin Misfit

Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4

It was hard being a potter and a slytherin. Especially for Jame’s twin. You were always slightly different. But nobody noticed or cared then. They care too much now. The minute you were sorted into slytherin, your brother hated you. The rest of your family tried to be accepting at first, but something in their gaze changed. You could see the slight reservation and worry in their gaze every time they looked at you.

The summer of your first and second year they tried, but their smiles towards you weren’t as unreserved and warm. You both desperately tried to get along, but soemthing has shifted that couldn’t be fixed. The summer of your third year you both gave up and it elapsed into slightly awkward silence when it was just you and your parents. You stayed in your room most of the time anyways, so it was alright.

Your brother, on the other hand hated you the minute you were sorted into slytherin. You tried to talk to him several times that year. He never shifted. So you gave up. And pretended to hate him back. You never succeed though. In a small way, you still wanted to be like when you were younger. Carefree and happy with your family and your brother.

Shaking those useless thoughts off, Caterina Potter shook herself fully awake. She’d dreamt of them last night, when they’d been eight and had messed around on brooms together. They’d been so happy...No. Not a useful thought. Thing were the way they were and can’t be changed. He hated her. And she hated him. That was all there was to it.

“Caterina! Hurry up, or there’ll be no food left!” Jane, one of your best friends yelled up the staircase.

“Yeah, or we’ll leave without you!” Your other best friend, Lithia yelled

“Coming!” You yelled as you ran down the staircase whilst adjusting your tie.

“Why am I friends with such loud people?” Complained your other best friend, Emilia

“Oh, stop complaining, you love us really!” Teased Jane

You had all been friends since first year, when you’d been in the same compartment as Jane and Lithia when your bother had abandoned you to go sit with his friends. You became friends with Emilia and Roslinda when they found you crying in the girl’s bathroom after James cold shouldered you for the first time. They were your best friends in the world, and you would do anything for each other. Whoever said slytherins only served their own interests were grievously wrong. It wasn’t very easy to become close with a slytherin, but once you did, they’d be loyal till the end. Griffindors never even try to see past the masks and shields though. Then again, those masks and shield existed because of people like them. It was an endless cycle. At least most Ravenclaws knew not to succumb to ancient prejudices and as a result, they were often friends of slytherins. Your friend Roslinda was a Ravenclaw but the rest of them were slytherins who shared a dorm room with you.

Ten minutes after you got to the great hall with your friends, Dumbledore stood up.

“Good Morning students! I am sorry to be interrupting your meal, however, I have a rather important announcement to make. In liue of house unity, we will be starting a new class for sixth years. If this is successful, it will become a class for first years as well then perhaps eventually for all years. We will be paring pupils from different houses up in groups of four or five and you will have to complet varies assignments and tasks in those groups. You will be getting a mark for this class, and this does affect your class average. Consider this motivation to try hard. Anyway, I’ll let you get back to your meal, breakfast, after all, is the most important meal.”

Your friends glanced at each other warily. “Think there’s any chance we’ll be paired up?” Lithia asked

“Maybe....I mean, I’m guessing it’s equal number of people from each house, so maybe.

“Hey guys! Have you noticed? Our timetables just updated to include this class! And... oh no. We have this with the griffindors.” Roslinda exclaimed, running over to them.

“I hope we don’t get paired with them..” Jane said glancing slightly worriedly at Caterina. The them of course referee to the marauders, who hated them, and who they hated back. It was like a miniature war at school.

Caterina shrugged. “Even if we do, it’s no big deal, we’ll just make a truce for that class and hope they see reason.” At her friends’ skeptical looks she added “Or just hex and threaten them into a truce.”

Her friends looked slightly more satisfied with this alternative solution.

In their eighth period, they all walked into this new class apprehensively awaiting their fate for the rest of the year. Only minutes after they sat down, the sirius and James sauntered into the room with Remus walking after them and peter trotting pathetically behind them. The two groups glared at each other before Sirius smirked and thye sat down. At that moment, the new professor walked in. She looked like a very cheerful and optimistic person, with honey brown hair swept mostly into a bun and very light brown eyes. She was wearing a formal suit with a tight black skirt and a white shirt with a formal black suit jacket.

“Good morning everyone! My name is professor Anderson and I’ll be teaching this class. The only three rules I will enforce are that :

1) There will be no prejudice of any kind in this classroom and you will be civil at all times

2) There is to be no cheating of any kind

3) You are expected to be on time and to hand in work on time. You are not to skip classes without a legitimate reason.

Please understand that a breach of these rules will result in punishment.”

She has walked over to the desk whilst she said this and now seeemd to cheer up immensely.

“Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, I’ll be telling you your groups !”

She either didn’t notice the nervous tension in the air, or she ignored it and carried on.

“ Louise Johansson, Penelope Dawin from griffindor with Lawrence Sohrin and Ambrosius Cadwin from Slytherin. Please sit over there.” She pointed to a row of desks in front of her and motioned for the students sitting there to get up and when they had sat down she continued.

“ Leopald Tasin and Samual Damien from slytherin with Heather Clarence, Ashley Beaumont and Laura Greenwood of Griffindor. Please sit over there.”

She gesture to a cluster of desks again and they sat down. Caterina and her friends were practically at the edge of there seats, though they were careful not to look worried and only looked vaguely interested.

“Do you see how she’s picking two or three of each gender form each house? Maybe we’ll end up together!”Lithia whispered to Caterina.

“I hope we will” She whispered back.

“Our next group, Caterina Potter and Emilia Cathwright from slytherin with”

They two friends high fived, exuberant, then waited with bated breath for the grififndirs to be called.

“—with James Potter and Remus Lupin.”

“What?!” Exclaimed both Caterina and James

The teacher looked a little taken aback but replied “Well, I thought, since you’re obviously siblings, it might be easier for you two to be together and bring your friends together.” It was true, even without their last names, they looked quite alike. They both had the same jet balk hair, but where James wore it short and ruffled, she wore it straight down and long or half up in a bun with curls on her shoulder when she was being formal. She also sometimes put it up in a pony tail when she didn’t want the hair bothering her. They had the same coloring and good looks, but where her brother had brown eyes, she had a stricking light turquoise mixed with a little grey. Overall, she was quite as attractive as her brother, although he failed to see or acknowledg it.

Caterina and James were now glaring at each other, each with their friends glaring at the others friends.

Lawrence raised his hand. “With all due respect Professor Anderson, those two have hated each other since they were sorted into separate houses.”

Professor Anderson seemed somewhat surprised but said “ Well in that case, you can use this class to reunite with your sibling and get to know each other better. Please sit over there.”

Caterina and James sat with Remus and Emilia in between them and ignored the other.

Professor Anderson said next “Sirius Black and Lily Evans from griffindor with Jane Audrey and Lithia Walters.”

There want as violent a reaction this time, but they still glared at each other with distrust and hatred as they sat down.

She continued assigning the other groups and then told them of their first task.

“Now, your first task will be to learn about the people in your group and next week you will have a test on various things about them, such as their favorite color, childhood memorie, game Ect. Please use the rest of this lesson to get to know each other better.”

A tense silence fell over their little group, until Emilia kicked Caterina under the table and shot her a glance. She got the hint and schooled her face into neural disinterest. Remus was the one who broke the silence.

“How about we each find out what we already know about each other? Caterina, whould you like to go first?”

Now, although most people would have reacted violently to your enemy’s friend, Caterina was not this kind of person. She was always polite and had a graceful and elegance about her that could be seen in whatever she did. She was also usally quite warm and charming, however, her brother and his friends had never seen this side of her as she always put up her politely reserved mask whenever they were around and tended to look at either the floor, or hyper focus on soemthing, liek her friends’ face or her books. It also happened that she never quite disliked Remus, as he seemed quite nice and didn’t really discriminate. If he hadn’t been one of his brothers best friends, she would probably have been his friend. And so, she smiled, nodded and replied

“Alright, I already know everything about Emilia, so I won’t go into that, I know James’s favorite color is bright griffindor red, he is a chaser for the griffindor quidditch team, his best subject is transfiguration, he hates and bullies snape, his best friend is Sirius, he hates slytherins, he hexes people in the corridors ,he likes stalking and chasing lily evens who has rejected him numerous times, he likes running a hand in his hair to look ‘cool’, he is arrogant, he gets drunk at hogs mead very often and his friendship group which consists of you two, Sirius and peter is called the marauders. As for Remus, he likes reading, is often unwell, is friends with lily evens and is a prefect with almost perfect scores in every subject.”

And with this, she calmly said, “Would you like to go next Remus?”

Remus and James were staring at her as though she just said she wanted to be a purple jaguar when she got older.

“H-How do you know that much about me?!” James chocked out, seeming to forget off a moment that he hated her.

She shrugged, “I’m observant. And anyways, you’re still my brother whether you like it or not.”

James seems to remember his hatred again. Shock must have attributed to his loss of it seconds before. “I bet you just wanted blackmail material, you filthy snake.” He spat.

She merely raised an eyebrow “I thought siblings were supposed to know each other at least a little.”

“Why would I bother learning anything about you?” James replied in a disgusted and cold tone.

Seeing Caterina about to say something, Remus hastily cut in. “Alright! James, how about you got next?”

“Sure. Emily is friends with Caterina, she—”

There was a very long and awkward pause as James tried to think of one fact about her. Emilia broke the silience yet again.

“It’s actually Emilia, Potter.” She said, politely, yet with a cold edge. After all, this was Caterina’s brother who made her life hell and who made upset her countless times.

James flushed red with embarrassment, but managed to still sound cold. “Wouldn’t matter to me. You’re just another worthless snake.”

Emilia sighed almost inaudibly, but Remus’s keen ears picked it up, and guessed that her patience was starting to wear thin.

“How about we make a deal? No one is to insult anyone else. We are all to be civil.” At this hw glared at James. “We all want a good grade, so let’s all try our best, okay?”

Everyone nodded including James, although his nod was barely perceptible and tight.

“Class over everyone! Now, just before you go, to help you get along, you will now share quarters and your new quarters will include a common room and living room. To help prevent any mishaps, magic is not allowed in these rooms, so you will essentially be living like a muggle. You will also be eating meals in your rooms together. You have already each been given keys to your rooms they are on your desks and the rooms are located on the newly built ninth floor. Class dismissed!” She waved goodbye at the class with a cheerful smile.

“So, we’ll be living together.” Stated Emilia as they walked to their new quarters. “Since we’ll be living together, I see no reason why we should still be hostil. Let’s start over shall we? Blank slate. And Caterina? Let’s stop holding back!” She finished.

“Why? They’ll just use it against us later on.” Responded Caterina whilst the other two listened curiously.

“Even if they do, who’ll believe them?” Asked Emilia

“I suppose.....Alright. Clean slate. We don’t know each other.” And with that the mask dropped mostly. What remained was a girl with a warm smile, bright, slightly wicked eyes and her entire body language shifted from elegant, charming and reserved to a slightly wicked cheerfulness and warmth. The charm was still there, however it just seemed a little bit more strong and wickedly alluring. She seems almost completely different. She smirked at how Remus and James were staring at her. She may have used a little magic to direct the light so that it fell on her in the best possible way, she also may have enhanced her looks a little with magic. She didn’t regret it when she saw them now. It was like they were in a trance.

“ I—Wow.” That was all Remus managed to day before he blinked and rubbed his eyes and snapped out of the trance he was in.

“Stop staring like that, brother. That’s incest.”

James hadn’t snapped out of his trance but at that comment he did.

“I wasn’t — I don’t —That’s gross!”

Emilia was smirking with her. And she raised an eyebrow but said nothing as they arrived at their rooms. They opened the door.
