Verbrachte eine Nacht damit, an irgendeinem romantisch-verqualmten Lagerfeuer ein verklemmtes Akkordeon auf Akustikgitarre zu begleiten. Ich hatte eine kurze Existenzkrise, weil, ernsthaft, bin ich wirklich der Typ der mit Gitarre am Feuer aufkreuzt? Ist es so weit gekommen? Tragisch. Wenigstens sorgt der Typ neben mir mit einer Überzahl von Goldohrringen, Rollkragenpulli und wild-schwarzen Haaren im Tim Burton Stil mit seinem uralten Balginstrument für Ablenkung.

Der Akkordeonspieler meines Vertrauens war spät am Vorabend angereist, hatte sich mit der Zimmerbelegung des Hostels vertraut gemacht und prompt meinen Zimmernachbarn aus meinem Zweibettzimmer geschmissen, um selbst einzuziehen. Die Aktion funktionierte wahrscheinlich nur, weil besagter Zimmernachbar schon zu übermüdet war um jetzt auch noch aktiv Wiederstand zu leisten. An dieser Stelle bitte Zitat aus Sun Tzu's Die Kunst des Krieges einfügen.

Das Akkordeon gibt ein tiefes Seufzen von sich als er es ein letztes Mal zusammenschiebt, bevor er sich irgendwann gegen zwei Uhr morgens auf's Zimmer verabschiedet. Ich trinke meine Powerade-Jägermeister-Mische aus (die Mischung schmeckt übrigens ganz abartig nach Lebkuchen. Das wird das Trend-Weihnachtsgetränk 2024, ich sag's euch) und folge ihm nach so 15 Minuten. Als ich auf's Zimmer kam war er schon wieder weg. Alright, eigentlich war ich ja nur so früh abgehauen um noch bei ihm rumzuhängen. Ich entscheide also, dass ich bestimmt irgendwas am Lagerfeuer vergessen habe und laufe den kompletten Weg durch's anliegende Waldstück zurück. "Ne, der war gerade kurz wieder hier, ist jetzt aber wirklich in's Bett gegangen" teilt man mir dort mit. Gut. Ich ziehe meine "jo, ich hab eigentlich nur.... diese Pfandflasche hier vergessen"-Nummer ab, bin mir selbst ein bisschen peinlich und trete den Rückweg an. Der Akkordeonspieler ist immer noch nicht auf unserem Zimmer. Ist er ernsthaft schon wieder zurückgelaufen? Ich überlege, was ich sonst noch am Feuer vergessen haben könnte, mache einen Umweg um ihn in der Raucherecke im Innenhof zu suchen und mache mich dann erneut auf den Weg durch das Wäldchen. Manchmal bin ich mir selbst ein bisschen peinlich.

Der Waldweg ist komplett finster. Vor mir macht es plötzlich *klick*, und ein Feuerzeug springt an. "Dein Ernst?". Ein halbes Dutzend Goldohrringe glitzern mich fröhlich im Licht des Einwegfeuerzeugs an. "Ich hatte was am Lagerfeuer vergessen" sage ich kleinlaut. Er lacht. "Ich auch. So, dreimal. Du gehst nochmal zu denen?" "Wollte ich eigentlich. Und du gehst jetzt auf's Zimmer?" "Mhm". Wir machen beide keinerlei Anstalten, weiterzulaufen. Er lässt das Feuerzeug erlischen. "Wir sind jetzt gerade ernsthaft 'ne halbe Stunde im Kreis gelaufen weil wir uns gesucht haben, oder?" Ich bin so unendlich froh dass es zu dunkel ist um zu sehen wie mir die Mimik entgleitet. Anstatt zu antworten mache ich auf dem Absatz kehrt, abandoning all imaginary plans of retrieving whatever I'd supposedly forgotten. In der anschließenden, knappe vier Stunden dauernden Unterhaltung in niemals abbrechendem Stakkato auf einem verqualmten Hostelzimmer verlieren wir ganz diplomatisch kein Wort mehr über die Aktion.

What's holding these human beings back from actually doing those things? The answer... Is this "religion."

They all think that it's right to follow this set of rules. Sure some of them are worth following like respecting each other and such. But did they even follow that in the end? No. They don't. Some people ended up murdering one another. Some people ended up betraying one another. The list goes on.

Yet in the end they argue that they're right.

They all think they've become some sort of genius once they've "figured out" these set of rules they follow so blindly and think that they have the right to look down on the ones who do follow them. But in the end they're still the same as them. They've become this "authority" that looks down on others once just because they don't understand something like that.

They say fame, and money corrupts all. Oh how true that is...

Their morals die once they've got them. [Name] salute to those who still maintain them. After all... This fame and money are like the devil's advocate.

Abgesehen von den miserablen Hochrechnungen, bei denen ich am liebsten heulen würde, finde ich es auch echt interessant, dass sobald in usamerikanischer Politik irgendwas passiert, dass sofort hier als Tag trandet, aber bei der EU Wahl, wo 27 Länder wählen, da ist kein Tag Trend dabei?
