Fighting Infection, Marc Cohn “Regrettably” Drops out of John Lennon Tribute

Marc Cohn will not be at the Dec. 2 John Lennon Tribute concert in New York, his management said, citing “an infection impacting (his) voice.”

“He will regrettably not be able to participate,” read a statement issued Dec. 1.

“Marc would like to congratulate Graham Nash, who will be receiving the 2023 John Lennon Real Love Award,” the statement read. “Nash will be joined by a stellar lineup that Marc will be sad to miss.”

Cohn was to appear at the 43rd-annual event alongside Rosanne Cash, Judy Collins, Bettye LaVette, Willie Nile and others.

Megatron returned to the island, landing right in front of the neutral ship before stepping inside. He walked down the hall and noticed a light emanating from one of the rooms. Megatron peered inside, and found Wheeljack working on a model of…a human-sized arm. The Wrecker looked back at his data pad, resting against the wall, before making a few more changes in the arm’s structure.

“I see you’re productive,” Megatron remarked as he leaned against the entrance with his arms crossed.

“Yep,” Wheeljack shrugged, “I should have the arm working soon enough for your little human friend.”

“He’s not my friend,” Megatron proclaimed.

“Whatever you say, Buckethead,” Wheeljack waved off, “Are you sure this plan of yours is going to work?”

“I don’t know,” Megatron answered, “But it has to be something better than the alternative.”

“I just find it funny that you of all people want to save humanity.” Wheeljack couldn’t help but chuckle at the irony.

“…why are you helping me?” Megatron asked him, “I could be using your resources against you and take over the island myself.”

“Oh that’s simple: Hanji trusts you,” Wheeljack answered with little hesitation, “And also your little human friends that hang around you and ask for your help. Seems they’re working with you willingly. It’s impressive.”

“Again, they’re not my friends,” Megatron corrected.

“My point is you changed.” Wheeljack careened his helm over to the former warlord, “Never would’ve expected it in a million years, but only on this world. Right?”

“I’d advise you to lower your expectations.” Megatron warned, “That’s exactly what the Commander has done.”

“There it is again,” Wheeljack smirked.

“Enough.” Megatron stood up and stormed out of the room, not wanting to acknowledge that Wheeljack may have had some truth to his words.

Several times during the movie I thought "I would love to play this in an orchestra someday!" only to get to the credits and find that it's by a composer my orchestra has already played a piece by quite recently. Such a perfect balance of ominous, glamorous, expansive, and occasionally playful

Some days I don't have much time to knit. Some days I only get one row done and I feel like this will take forever. But after a few days I can see that my project has gotten bigger, and progress is encouraging no matter how slow.

The people who built the pyramids must have felt that, especially in the early phases when it was getting taller only very slowly. But when they came back next season they would look at it afresh and go, "hey, we did more than we thought" and feel better.

Once I stood on the viewing deck of the Willis Tower in Chicago as the sun went down, and looked at the city lights stretching out to the lake shore and off to the horizon in every direction. I looked at this landscape entirely reshaped by human initiative and thought, "wow, we are powerful creatures."

The people who built the pyramids must have felt that. They must have stood on top of their half-finished creation and looked down at what had once been a plateau in the desert but was now covered in villages, factories, quarries, ramps, canals, temples, and tombs stretching down to the Nile in one direction and off into the distance in the other, and they must have thought, "wow, we are powerful creatures."

The pyramids were built by people just like me, whose thoughts I can glimpse across five millennia and half a planet. And that is far cooler than aliens.

Willie Nile Enlists Steve Earle to Help “Wake up America”

As early voting gets underway and Election Day rapidly approaches, Willie Nile enlisted Steve Earle to urge: “Wake up America.”

The message is important; alas, the mode of delivery is impotent.

The single is a hard-driving, 1980s-inspired bit of pop-rock that warns, It’s all on the line, and asks, What happened to you?

True and the Orange Menace are the only valid responses to those lines. And the only proper reaction to “Wake up America” is to vote for Democrats.

Nile and Earle never say that explicitly. But knowing who they are, it’s beyond obvious that’s what they mean when they sing: Wake up America before it’s too late.

We best listen; if not to the song, then to its message.

What Makes Him Close to Being Pure Good?

In General

He always stands up against villains that try to conquer the world.

Whenever fighting Niles, it's to only thwart him and never outright intends to take his life.

He is a very whimsical and lively person who enjoys being the center of attention, impressing others, and making them laugh.

He attempted to save Danny when he was kidnapped by Jafar and despite being unable to save him, he went through many procedures to ensure it would never happen again nor to himself.

He defends Danny whenever he gets bullied.

He's very protective towards his friends and whenever teasing some of them, it's usually in a playful manner.

Unlike his adoptive father, he shows genuine concern for the safety and wellbeing of others.

He has a great ability to forgive those who used to be his enemy, accepting their personalities that contrast or parallel his own.

The Genie Team

He asked The Genie Team to help him reclaim Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.

He defeated Darla and Max by turning her into a blueberry and by sending him through the Television Chocolate Setup respectively.

He asked Ellie to turn him into a genie so that Danny wouldn't feel so lonely as the only boy genie.

When he stopped Niles from destroying Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory, he asks him why he's doing so instead of trying to kill him.

He helped The Genie Team defeat Cobra, helped Juliet beat Jackson Storm in their race, and helped build Tara and Tom's new house.

The Genie Team: A.I.M.G.P.

He founded the A.I.M.G.P. in order to help people who had or hadn't been turned into genies get revenge on those who wronged them.

He helped his friends escape the Crystal Cavern under the A.I.M.G.P. HQ.

He defeated villains like Headridge and Snide with help from his friends.

He freed many genies from the influence of the Aura of Evil.

Noahsworld: The Zahramazing Adventure

He accepted Shimmer and Shine's request to help them save Zahramay Falls from danger.

He collected the Chaos Emeralds and Genie Gems and didn't abuse their power.

He defeated Zala and saved Danny and Abby when they were kidnapped by Zeta.

He returned the Master Emerald back to Samira.

Noahsworld: Tales from Noah and his Friends

He came to San Diego to share his chocolate making knowledge there and possibly to the world as well.

He accepted the deal with Arthur Slugworth in hopes that Arabella would have a better life, though he quickly broke it when he realized the boat to Hawaii was rigged to blow and he was meant to be killed.

Though he broke the deal, Arthur Slugworth had already made it unfair and broke it himself by letting Mr. Bongo and Ms. Crackett keep Arabella in the laundromat for the rest of her life, so this isn't really bad.

He exposed the Chocolate Cartel's crimes to the police and had them arrested.

Amanda's Mermaid Adventures

He helped the Helpful Mermaids to find and reunite himself with Danny and Abby.

He and Danny helped Amanda and the Helpful Mermaids save Mina and Chibichibi from Burton Plushtoy III.

Molly and the M Gang

He stopped Niles and Amber from plotting against him and his friends by trying to punch him in the face.

He protected Danny from the three merbullies and helped the M Gang stop them from stealing a Golden Hand Bell.

He became an actor for Travis' film without hesitation.

What Prevents Him from Being Pure Good?

He acts like a bit of a jerk at times, as he tends to enjoy taunting much of his enemies, Niles especially.

He can be pretty rude, arrogant, and reckless sometimes, leading him to making extremely poor decisions.

He is a bit mischievous, such as when he once hit Ellie with a pie for a joke.

He has moments where he lets his overly secretive behavior get the best of him.

He is very reckless, which can inadvertently cause harm to others.

He is somewhat lethal, as seen when he and Danny beat the life out of two IO Guards, and while they somewhat deserved it for being part of the IO's scheme, Noah still showed clear sadism in doing so.
