Ok I just had another thought but what if when the reader forgives them the reader could tell them about genshin impact because it maybe coming to the game so the reader would tell them about archons and how they are like aeons except unlike aeons they aren't bounded to a path and they can't be killed that would be a interesting conversation especially if the reader tells them about lumine and aether

I’m not to sure they would believe Genshin Impact to be any more than a game after what you tell them, until they find out that they’re also a game. At that point they, the Aeons and the Express, gently prod you for more information, because what if they come for you and take you away like Star Rail has done? They can’t lose you now!

Once they hear about the Traveler and how they transverse and travel the realms, they kinda develop a distaste for medium height blonds. Hey, you never know if that innocent blond civilian is actually a dimension traveling shooting star coming to steal you away…

kuya probably has some.. feelings on yakumo’s fear of showing his serpentine aspects to other people

“it’s just.. t-they’re unsightly! my fangs, my tongue, my eyes… they’re all just weaknesses that remind me that i’ll never be fully human!”

“and who told you that? humans?” kuya scoffed. he was usually soft spoken around yakumo, in his own barely noticeable way, but now his words were hardened by anger.

yakumo’s gaze was fixed on a spot by his feet, fiddling with his sleeve in the way that he often did when nervous. kuya sighed.

“take it from me, darling. listening to humans on how i should feel about my yokai traits was one of the worst mistakes of my life.”

yakumo startled slightly when he felt something soft and fluffy wrap around his wrist. he looked up to see kuya smiling knowingly at him.

“i, too, was scared to show myself to the young master.”

the serpent’s eyes widened in surprise at this revelation. kuya? scared? kuya didn’t seem to be scared of anything, let alone the opinion of eiden.

“i had somebody i cared about tell me to hide away my ears and tail, because they were unsightly.” the word was hissed with an amount of venom that spoke volumes. “but.. i decided to trust the young master. i revealed myself to him, and you know what he said?”

kuya shook his head slightly, a fond smile on his face as he recalled the memory of eiden helping him get ready for what would have normally been another tedious transformation banquet. if yakumo didn’t know any better, he would say that kuya was blushing.

“he said i looked handsome. elegant. i can only assume he said something similar to you?”

yakumo felt his cheeks heating up as he remembered the look of awe on eiden’s face when he truly saw him for the first time.

“he… he said i looked p-pretty…” it felt weird to say, using such a word to refer to himself. but as soon as the words left his lips, yakumo couldn’t help the smile that slowly stretched across his face.

“then you have nothing to fear, little serpent.” a few gentle pats to his cheek, before that slightly patronizing hand traced along his jaw and cupped his chin. it was.. strangely tender, for kuya.

“everyone thinks very highly of you, and we don’t like to see our little housewife sad. so chin up, ok dear?”

before yakumo could ask what kuya possibly meant by that, the fox disappeared without a trace, as if he were only a figment of the serpent’s imagination. the warm feeling on his cheek and in his heart were the only indicators of the conversation that just occurred.

Yes Mario will be gallant and charming with Peach. Yes Luigi will get flustered by Peasley's flirting and try to return it.

They know about the other's game, they know everything about each other after all. And they play into it. Luigi will hold the door for Mario and Peach when they enter a room together and pretend to give them space, Mario will tease Luigi in public about how handsome Peasley is.

They're officially never getting further than innocent flirting, however. going further without the other party's knowledge would be manipulative, and they obviously don't tell every potential lover "I find you hot but I need to warn you, I'm already in a committed relationship with my brother, he's okay with me fooling around though".

(Wait I just realized, would it count as cuckhold fetish 🤔?)

I think one of the kindest things you can do for people with various mental health struggles is just... let people back into your life after they've been absent for a while.

Making friends as an adult is so fucking hard already and isolating yourself from other people is a very common symptom of depression, anxiety, burnout, ocd, trauma, grief, etc. Which means that someone will do the hard work of recovery/healing and resurface back into a world where their previous friends have written them off because they stopped showing up.

So if you know someone where you're like "yeah we could have been better friends but they fell off the map a bit" and that person suddenly reaches out, or starts showing up to events even though you kind of forgot they were still in the group chat... well they may have been Going Through It and you don't actually have to punish them for their absence you can just be glad that they're back.
