Not me as somebody who crochets on the reg getting criticisms/unwanted comments about everything I make:

"You always use the same colors" :/

Me: can't help it I'm a thalassophile and therefore I must always use beige, khaki, turquoise, teal, aqua blues, whites of all shades. Let the coastal creations commence!

"Nice bag. You know, that looks perfect to use only for holidays like Easter"

Me: ...my coastal bag is to be used every time I feel like it. What are you talking about.

"Those oceanic colors don't match with your current outfit so don't use it."

Me: it's not about what looks nice TO YOU but what feels right and fun to use FOR ME.

"Why don't you add (whatever) to your creation. It'd look great if you add (whatever). And, how about next time, you actually use a leather bag bottom instead?"

Me: I don't want to.

"You sure can't take a comment or a slight criticism. Why are you like this?" :/

Me: you sure can't mind your business.

"Why are you doing 2 projects at once. Finish one and start the other I don't get it."

Me: oh you sweet summer child ohohoho...you just don't understand the mind of a crocheter do ya?

"You know, if you make something for somebody it sure won't be coastal themed or whatever. You have to try something different."

Me: who said I'm making anyone ANYTHING? They don't want to pay the correct price for a hand-made creation so that won't be happening. Anyway, ONTO THE COASTAL THEMED SCARF!

Got the new Peach game, and I also still have the original one that I played as a kid 👑

#text post #not Kirby #just went and bought Princess Peach Showtime today I’m really excited to play it #probably won’t play tonight because I have some stuff to finish drawing for the 31st anniversary of Kirby’s Adventure #but I’m excited to play this weekend I was playing through Super Princess Peach again to get ready #it was nice to revisit it I had fun playing through it again #also realized while playing through it again that there’s this one song in the soundtrack #it plays when you’re in Subrella Mode and it sounds suspiciously similar to Komm Süsser Tod from End of Evangelion ☠️#I got to the first Subrella section when playing through it again and was like wait a minute this sounds familiar lmao #seeing how a DS cartridge looks next to a Switch cartridge is wild to me #like wow they’re able to fit so much more stuff on a much smaller cartridge #anyway I’m excited to play Princess Peach Showtime I liked the demo so I hope the rest of the game is good

Mm because I've been feeling kinda sucky about my art for the last week nice little self-improvement post over the past ehh 5 months or so?

Under a cut because it's literally just some art I've already posted from the last 5 months (literally the first finished drawing of LMK I did far back. It's literally only been 5 months why does it feel like a year. Geeze.) so I can see tasty improvement but uhh yeah

#all of my like in the last couple weeks stuff has been OCs #which I haven't been drawing for as long so didn't wanna include #mostly stuff to Macaque + Wukong because they were def the hardest things for me to draw walking into LMK #but now I can at least sketch them digitally pretty easily even if their scarves still throw me without a reference #and I'm pretty proud of myself #this is literally just me being self-indulgent because I needed a bit of a boost ignore this #side note look at me!!! not cringing away from my old art at the first sight of it!!!!#actually able to like it and acknowledge how it's helped me grow!!! look at that!!!#honestly I have so many scrapped sketches I may post someday because even though they were scrapped because of how bad they were #they're still so important to how much I've improved #letting myself make bad art is honestly the best thing I've ever done for myself #and it turns out when all is done and finished I'm still proud of the effort and love?? and it doesn't feel that bad anymore??#that 19 hour comic I'm so proud of? I was never gonna do it because I thought the sketch looked bad #but a friend saw it and went 'yes finish it'#and I'm so glad I did #whoof it is. 5 AM.#emotions tonight #wow

I’m finishing TAZ: Balance tonight

#Let's take a look and see when my last tag was about ''finishing'' this campaign -#Oh it was three years ago! February of 2020 in fact! Wow!!!!#Lol #Yeah that whole thing of ''Tomorrow I'll finish it''? Lol I didn't even finish episode 68 at the time what was I on about #According to my tags then-me said I cried more after the moneyzone which uh? I don't?? remember doing that??#I remember everything up /to/ the moneyzone everything after that was new to me - other than the already-spoiled stuff like the Taakitz kiss #But pfshsfphspfhsph that's fine lol ♥#I was tired and it has been Literally three years so I'll give myself a bit of a break on that one lol #Oh and don't get it mixed it was still great ✨ Because I've been mostly relistening I forgot the sometimes necessity of pausing to laugh lol #That one bit of everyone going up to everyone while on the ticking clock - I am deceased #And I have still cried in bits ah ♥ Lup and Taako's relationship is my fave and Magnus' motivation to be strong and what is strength <3 <3 #Nothing compares to The Best Episode of the Eleventh Hour but c'mon we can't compare to perfection lol #Haaah it's been doing me such good ♥ It feels like the right time finally :)#Also something something re: hyperfixations and novelty vs comfort in relation to stress idk lol it's interesting #TAZ

i so desperately miss being REALLY into making fan content for stuff. like i miss the days where i was uploading fics rapid fire because i kept getting ideas but at the same time i'm like. really relieved about not doing it anymore? I rarely even open ao3 anymore and idek how i feel about it.

i think i miss the fun of it, but all the relief in stopping comes from no longer having to deal with other people that i'd be catering to and trying to please everyone. the moment i realized writing fics wasn't actually like. my job. i think i stopped feeling so burdened and just kind of ended up moving on altogether

and as much as i really really love focusing on original things now, there's definitely a kind of void i feel knowing the audience i did and still have and that the vast majority isnt interested in me as a creator once i'm no longer in a specific fandom yknow? like "wow over half a million have read this one fanfic but only the smallest fraction of that have read my comic"

that being said the biggest thing i've been learning over the last year is to just make content for myself and to try not to worry about Numbers
