Okay. I wanna make a Star Wars character. Cannot decide for the life of me what I should make first.

I'm using this list for stats and reference, so if you don't know what each race looks like or acts like, use it if you need to. I'm also going to just make these in order of popularity, so they'll all be made eventually.

A Xamster from Xagobah

Neva Kee was a Xamster podracer from Xagobah. He was an innovative risk-taker; his podracer design considered extremely dangerous by some and revolutionary by others. During the Boonta Eve Classic, Kee flew off course and disappeared into the Tatooine desert.

Neva Kee has gained a reputation as a daredevil in podracing circles, along with a dedicated fanbase. He's best known for flying a customized, experimental podracer that's considerably more fragile and unsafe than a standard pod; when enthusiastic fans and horrified critics call him insane, they each use a different tone of voice. It's often easy to spot Neva out in public in the days before the race, a blue Xamster just over a meter tall who keeps getting mobbed by fans and loves every bit of the attention. But you've probably never seen his manager. Who exactly is this human behind the curtain, and who/what is someone with his range of talents trying to hide from? Is he trying to retire from a life of crime? Lying low and planning his next move? Trying to get close to a target with connections to racing? He has an unsettling kind of energy. He moves like a cat through a world of mice. Is the celebrity podracer in danger? Or are they both in on something bigger than podracing?

I found S.tar W.ars Racer, the old one that used to be a computer game and an N64 game, in the playstation store the other day. I grew up with that game, then I played it on N64 during the time I was in grad school until the N64 broke. I had no idea it had been ported to ps4, and it was like reuniting with an old friend. 

So anyways, my favorite racer has always been Neva Kee. I probably came to like him at first because his pod has good stats. Younger me lost a LOT of races so me right now could git gud, and I was always looking for little ways to get a leg up. But he has a great character design too, he’s a funky little blue alien with big ears and he has kind of a funny, emotive voice. I genuinely like the character, the s.tar w.ars people made a good alien design. Little guy is just out there walking around in a galaxy far, far away. His day job is being a race car driver. Epic.

So out of curiosity, I looked him up, expecting to find like a paragraph-long wiki page about how he’s a playable character in S.tar W.ars Racer. And, you guys, this little fella has Lore. He’s a kind of alien called a Xamster, and these guys have all this lore about them, and where they come from, and what they’re like, and info about the appearances they’ve made in comics, and so on. I think the name sounds like Hamster. We don’t have to talk about it, I just thought someone should say it. But so Neva Kee the Xamster has detailed concept art for his tiny appearance in the podrace arc in P.hantom M.enace, and there’s this whole story about how his podracer is constructed in a really unsafe way that makes it go faster & how Neva is a daredevil with a devoted fanbase that loves him for being “insane.” And apparently during the race in the movie he just veered off the track at some point and was never seen again. did he die? did he retire in secrecy? no one knows!

And I’m just impressed. This little polygon man playable character in an old, dusty video game has a genuine and compelling little role in the S.tar W.ars canon. They didn’t have to do all that. A.nakin and S.ebulba were the only racers who were part of the main plot, it would have been really easy to like, throw together a bunch of generic pod racers for other competitors & put j.awas in them and call it a race. but it’s like, no, this is serious, some characters in s.tar w.ars are race car drivers and they cultivate a fanbase around their quirks and their kind of alien has a name and they LIVE HERE. like aaa. that’s just so nice.

The Flimmel Tree The Flimmel tree was a species of carnivorous plant native to Xagobah that resembled a cross between a mushroom and a spider. They were part of a large colony that shared a common root system, with the entire plant living many millennia.Boba Fett was almost consumed by a Flimmel tree when he came to Xagobah in search of Wat Tambor. He managed to escape by stunning the plant with a Stokhli spray stick.

The Mavil Tree Malvil-trees were at least semi-sentient fungus trees native to the planet Xagobah. They had tendrils that they could move about and that could detect temperature and heat. Malvil-trees seemed to have a special symbiotic relationship with the Xamsters. A known member of this species was Malubi who, along with the Xamster Xeran, encountered Boba Fett on the planet during the Clone Wars.The Techno Union was responsible for bioengineering the trees to create the Mazariyan Citadel.

Xaber-Fungi Xabar was a species of violet-colored fungus that was native to the world of Xagobah. It possessed tentacles that released toxins on contact with foreign objects or other creatures, causing total, but temporary, muscle paralysis. Street youths that were intrigued with the afterlife were known to use it as a drug because of its rigor mortis-like effects.

Xagobah Xagobah was a planet located in the Xagobah system, just inside the border with the Outer Rim Territories, and was the homeworld of the Xamster race.The Xagobah system had a blue sun. From space, Xagobah appeared to be a cloud-covered world that was shrouded in purplish mists. This was caused by the incredible amount of spores and pollen found in its atmosphere, given off by all manner of trees and fungi. While most of the planet's spores were harmless, some varieties caused certain changes in off-worlders. As such, taking an antidote prior to exposure was recommended for those unaccustomed to the planet's environment. The fungi that produced these billions of spores resembled giant mushrooms and were found in a variety of forms. Carnivorous varieties like the flimmel tree and Xabar fungus had the ability to immobilize their prey through the use of a green, sheet-like adhesive, or through the injection of a paralyzing toxin. The malvil-tree, on the other hand, was a far more docile fungus, with numerous tree-limb like tendrils that could actively move, pick up objects, and support members of the native Xamster population.

History: Prior to Separatist occupation of Xagobah, the native Xamster race, reptilian-looking practitioners of the Tal-Gun martial arts technique, lived in relative peace. Xamster families held bonds with malvil-trees, which seemed to possess some sort of sentience, but after the war found the planet, Xamsters were either used as laborers or hired by the Republic to fight the droid armies of the Mazariyan. This left the native population devastated and the malvil-trees largely unprotected. Little is known as to what happened to them after the end of the war.In 21 BBY, the planet was conquered by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. During the Outer Rim Sieges, there was a CIS buildup at the world, headed by Wat Tambor of the Techno Union. Here, Tambor experimented on the native plant species and bioengineered many of them to serve his own ends.The planet was liberated by the Galactic Republic in 20 BBY, though around this same time, the Iron Knight, Firkrann, was killed in a duel with General Grievous on the planet.It was during the liberating battle that young Boba Fett attempted to collect a bounty on Wat Tambor's head, but failed. Asajj Ventress had supposedly helped Wat Tambor escape by damaging Boba's ship, the Slave I; however, Ventress had already been betrayed by Dooku at this point, and fled into hiding to escape the war. Boba's true assailant could have been Ventress herself, but was likely another.
