X-Men Rare Pairs Fest 2023

Happy Sunday! We're opening up things up little early so you can now visit the X-Men Rare Pairs 2023  homepage and start leaving prompts!

The slightly revised schedule is as follows: Sign Ups Open: Mar 5 (NOW!!!) Start Posting Works: Mar 15 Works Revealed: Mar 31 Authors/Artists Revealed: April 15

Fest Highlights for those who missed the previous post: - Rare Pairs Fest is a prompt fest (vs a gift exchange) for the X-Men fandom - Prompting remains open for the duration of the fest - *NEW* You may begin filling prompts on March 15 and continue through the end of the fest - Fills may be fic or art - All X-Men ‘verses are welcome (comics too!) - All X-Men pairings are allowed except Charles/Erik, though poly ships that include one or both these characters are permitted - Pairings can be romantic or platonic - Crossovers with other Marvel characters permitted as long as one of the pairing is in the X-Men verse (i.e. Storm/Black Panther) - You can request up to 10 prompts (min. one is required) - There is no minimum word count but fills (and art) must be complete when posted - Each prompt can be filled an unlimited number of times by an unlimited number of people - You do not have to write/draw to leave prompts - You do not have to prompt to write/draw a fill

One of the underrated funniest things about XMA is when the students are heading the the mall. The fact that the students look at this blue devil looking kid they met five minutes ago and think "we should take him to the mall," is objectively hilarious.

it's erik who brings up the remorse he feels about all the wasted years they spent fighting each other and it's erik who goes to a middle of nowhere polish village to live in a forest cottage and it's erik who moves to an island commune to tend to his little garden and it's erik who asks charles to move in with him there, literally all he's ever wanted was to live in peace somewhere quiet but he had to spend his whole life fighting oooooourrgrgrgrrgggrhrgg

X-Men Remix Madness 2023

X-Men Remix Madness 2023 - Coming June 30!

What is Remix Madness? Madness is a variation of the Main Remix Challenge; instead of remixing an assignment from the Mods you simply remix whatever fic/art you want from the people who’ve signed up to participate!

I want to let people remix my fics for Madness! Simple! Just go to X-Men Remix Madness 2023, first read the rules, and sign up when Madness opens!

How do I sign up? Go to the Collection page and select ‘Prompt Form’ from the left hand menu. Copy and paste and then answer the short list of questions there before clicking submit.

I want to remix other people’s fics - do I have to sign up for Madness too? You only have to sign up for Madness if you want people to remix your fics. You do NOT have to sign up for Madness at all if you only want to remix other people’s work.

Any word count minimum? What about art restrictions? No minimum word count and artwork can be sketches!

What is a ‘safe work’? When you sign up to allow others to remix your works, you may designate certain ones as ‘safe’ and therefore off limits to others for remix.

Do I have take into consideration the original creator’s preferences when I remix their work? In a word - no.  This is not a gift exchange, so you are not required to acknowledge the fic/art you receive if it is not to your tastes/contains content you don’t read/is offensive to you. There is not, and never will be, any penalty for not commenting on/kudosing/linking back to the fic or art you receive.

In light of the above, you are still expected to be civil to your remixer or recipient, regardless of the circumstance.

What are the dates for Madness? Madness begins this year on June 30, when you can sign up and start claiming/filling immediately!

The collection will go live on July 21 and remain anonymous until author/artist reveals on July 30. You may continue to post remixes to the Madness collection throughout the Fest up until the end of the day on July 30.
