Every time the textbooks we use say that in the UK we eat "pudding" as a snack or something I'm like I fear you have misunderstood the British use of the term "pudding".

#ruffled feathers #PUDDING IS DESSERT #if you say to me do you want pudding i would just assume you meant a sweet treat following a meal #not a specific type of dessert #i honestly don't even know what 'pudding' is supposed to be lmao i've never had 'pudding'#apart from like christmas pud or yorkie pud #actually i can think of lots of different types of puddings but none of them are the weird picture they show in the textbook #and all of them are preceded by a qualifier ('yorkshire' 'black' 'suet' etc) if you just say 'pudding' it's like ??? not enough data #i definitely don't know anyone who just casually eats. erm. 'pudding'#like if someone said 'i eat breakfast as a snack' you'd be like what does that mean #and it's the same when i see this nonsense. 'we eat pudding as a snack' no we eat treacle tart and jam roly poly for pudding #or yorkie pud as a side. or christmas pud for pudding. or steak & kidney pud for dinner #but not like a fucking blancmange-esque wobbly jelly custard thing?? idk what it's even supposed to be #i have seen it in konbinis and it looks minging honestly

Tumblr glitched and I can’t find the post again, but apparently it isn’t just British people. I just saw a post insisting that lefties all had bread baking and quick pickles on the go while tradwifes are in their expensive kitchens washing chicken with bleach.

It’s like these guys are obsessed for some reason with the notion that people they don’t like or don’t agree with must suck at cooking.

To these American wokeposters, I promise you that right now in your own country, someone neither of us agrees with one iota is doing something amazing with 12-hour barbecued meat.
