OMORI - Voice Actor Headcanons.
Tumblr media
While I haven’t exactly finished this game yet, I am close enough to the end and have met basically all the characters, so I think it’s time I got around to doing my good ol’ series of VA headcanons for a game that either doesn’t have one, or doesn’t have an English Dub.
This time we’re doing Omori, a game I started playing at the beginning of this year and have fallen in love with very very quickly. I’ve been through a very painful time of my life recently and this game helped me work through it letting me know that it doesn’t matter how I grieve, just that any way I can is correct.
And the way the characters work together in the game is also incredible, and I was eagerly awaiting to get to the point that I’m at so I could do a VA headcanons section for this. So before we get started, let me once again go two things.
This is NOT CANON. These are HEADCANONS and are unofficial. It’s just a hypothetical situation. If the characters were voiced, this is who I imagine would voice them.
Every major character in the games is included here, so there are HEAVY SPOILERS for the game’s main storylines. DO NOT READ THIS POST IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED THE GAME OR DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED.
Without further ado, let’s get into this.

I think I'd do nearly anything to finish my Kuromyu bromide collection at this point. I've been missing a single photo each of Matsumoto Shinya, Nagaoka Takuya, and Yosuke Crawford for literal years and it's driving me insane

The Most Beautiful DEATH in the World 2.5
So, I’ve just finished watching The Most Beautiful Death in the World 2.5 and I have to say, I was very highly biased towards not liking it because I was very attatched to the original actors HOWEVER, after giving it a chance, I’ve come to realise that it’s got its own charms that I quite liked!
The comedy was on point. Grell popping in during William’s opening speech caught me off gaurd considering I’ve heard the original one so many times and though I’m very fond of the original actors, the new ones have slowly grown on me the more I watched it.
The song changes were also welcomed, keeping it fresh such as Ronald’s rap during The Grim Reaper Dispatch Society or Grell’s extra fantasy with Sebastian and William during R-Rated. I also felt like the harmonizing during Checkmate was much better then the original. Overall, I’d watch it again! I do have some extra thoughts on the individuals chracters below the cut, but that’s about all I have to say otherwise!
Obviously there isn’t much to say about Sebastian or Grell since it’s the same actor who plays them both in the original and 2.5 and honestly, it was a good choice. You cannot find a more quintessential Grell then Takuya Uehara.
2.5 Abberline and Hanks were just great a comedic duo
2.5 Druitt was, something. He captured the anime Druitt too well lol Certianly wanted to shut him up a few times but in a “he played the character how he was meant to be played” type of way
Now, Teruma as William. At first, I was very much a Takuya Nagaoka stan when it came to actors portraying him just because I thought Takuya had more of the William look but Teruma has grown on me considerably and his facial movements feel very William, like the twitch of the eveybrow or flick of the eyes and tensing of the body whenever someone touched him but he also had a lot more energy then Takuya did when dancing or figthing which maybe not how William would act, but it was far more entertianing to watch. I think my own personal gripe would be his voice gets a little more rough or gravely at times but it wasn’t all the time and overall, he has a really nice voice that I think fits William well. Being my favourite character, my eyes were often on him to say the least
For Ronald, I’m still slightly biased toward Yosuke Crawford. He had the voice and look down to a T in my opinion but again, Takuya Ide grew on me as I contiued to watch. His extra interactions with Grell, Eric and even William were very welcomed and he certianly brought more energy to the character which made him very enjoyable to watch. My favourtie part from him had to be during the Opera scene where he just collapses exhausted to the ground until William calls for him and he instantly pops back to his feet with a little “oi”. It was so cute and a very Ronald thing to do. While I still prefer Yousuke, Takyua is right below him
Alan is a bit of a strange case. For the longest time, Matsumoto Shinya was my Alan. I couldn’t see anyone else playing him and for the first bit of the 2.5 musical, it remained that way but slowly, I began to like Masataka Nakagauchi’s portrayl. He was a little more stern then his original counterpart who was more soft but also a bit more extroverted if that at all makes sense. His voice suited Alan and I like how he portrayed the Thorns of Death more the the original Alan. Hearing him sing The Crevice Between Life and Death was the nail in the coffin for me, he sounded so good singing Alan’s theme.
Lastly, Eric. Shinji Rachi is a good actor and a great singer but I just can’t see him as Eric. He’s always looked too young to me while Taisuke Saeki is THE Eric Slingby. He had the looks, the voice, the act, he just pulled off Eric so well. I found Shinji’s voice to be a little softer and lighter while Taisuke’s voice was able to be soft then strong and he pulled off the more “I don’t care but actually I care a lot” attitude Eric gives off plus I’m also a little more bias toward the original actors duet. So again, Shinji does a good job at what he set out to do but Taisuke will always be the Eric for me
And that’s it. Just my opinion’s on the whole thing but I’m glad I watched it. As I said above, I’d gladly watch it again and maybe after a second viewing my opinions will change! The 2.5 cast looked like they had a great time and were having great fun during the bowing segment! Either way, The Most Beautiful DEATH in the world contiues to be my favourite musical out of all of them and I’m glad we got Alan and Eric out of it!

TROY, NEW YORK     The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Corporation adds the soulful music of jazz singer Gregory Porter to our 2017-2018 season.  He’ll join us in the new year, on Friday, February 16 at 8 PM.
 Gregory Porter
Friday, February 16, 2018, 8 PM  Tickets:  $49.50 $44.50, $38.50
“The intersection of Kurt Elling and Sammy Davis Jr. may seem an unfathomable junction, but that’s exactly where you’ll find Gregory Porter.” Jazz Times
Video – “Be Good, Lion Song”: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9HvpIgHBSdo
An artist whose music is at once timeless yet utterly of its time, Gregory Porter solidified his standing as his generation’s most soulful jazz singer-songwriter with Take Me to the Alley, winner of the 2017 GRAMMY Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album, and the much-anticipated follow-up to his sensational 2013 Blue Note debut Liquid Spirit. Yet in his remarkable career, Porter has time and again demonstrated an innate ability to transcend genre and connect with audiences from all walks of life, and his new music reflects the singer’s continued and mindful growth as an artist and as a person amidst the constant touring demands that have resulted from tremendous international success. Recently Porter moved his family from Brooklyn back to his hometown of Bakersfield, California, where he can be closer to his brothers and sisters. “The intensity of the road has caused a desire for me to be grounded,” Porter explains.
Liquid Spirit – which followed the critically-acclaimed and GRAMMY-nominated albums Water (2010) and Be Good (2012) – quickly grew into a global phenomenon, selling a million albums worldwide and becoming the most streamed jazz album of all-time with over 20 million streams. The album has sold Platinum in the U.K. and Germany, and Gold in France, The Netherlands, and Austria. In the U.S. Porter made his first-ever national TV appearances on The Tonight Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live while both ESQUIRE and NPR Music declared him “America’s Next Great Jazz Singer.” Liquid Spirit also won Porter his first GRAMMY Award in 2014 for Best Jazz Vocal Album while also earning him a Best Traditional R&B Performance nomination for his affecting ballad “Hey Laura.”
In the fall of 2015 Porter finally found the time to return to the studio in New York City to record Take Me To The Alley. As he’s done on his previous three albums, Porter teamed with producer Kamau Kenyatta to craft a collection of stirring originals that juxtapose the personal and political. His partnership with Kenyatta started in the mid-1990s when he was a student at San Diego State University (Porter began his college years playing football on a full athletic scholarship before a shoulder injury diverted him into a music career). It was through Kenyatta’s mentorship that Porter’s professional musical career began. “Kamau has been most instrumental in taking what I have and refining it,” Porter observes. “He’s been great at offering encouragement to what I already have artistically.”
Reinforcing their well-honed rapport is the return of Porter’s core accompanying musicians – pianist and music director Chip Crawford, bassist Aaron James, drummer Emanuel Harrold, alto saxophonist Yosuke Sato, and tenor saxophonist Tivon Pennicott. Singer Alicia Olatuja, trumpeter Keyon Harrold, and organist Ondrej Pivec also make appearances throughout.
As Porter polishes his artistry as one of our most heartfelt singer-songwriters on Take Me to the Alley, his burgeoning body of work will continue to give voice to its modern times while simultaneously echoing the legacy of jazz and soul’s yesteryear and informing generations of musicians to come.  The Hall is thrilled to welcome his debut on our stage, singing selections from this new album as well as his past hits and jazz standards.
Tickets are available to Music Hall Members on Tuesday, August 29 at 10 AM via phone, (518) 273-0038, in person, or online at www.troymusichall.org.  Anyone can become a member and get early access.  Tickets are available to the general public on Thursday, August 31.  The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall Box Office is located at 30 Second Street in downtown Troy, and is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  More information on the Troy Savings Bank Music Hall and upcoming programs is available on the website at www.troymusichall.org.
The Troy Savings Bank Music Hall has hosted performances by legions of world-renowned artists, from legends like Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Isaac Stern, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Vladimir Horowitz, to the best on today’s contemporary music scene, including Joshua Bell, Andrew Bird, Steve Martin, Lyle Lovett, and John Prine and many others.

So like a fan of Ronald I need to know , Ronnie is left handed or right handed ? I think he’s left handed for the clock position , but I think they omitted in the animation of book of the Atlantic like his white belt
Sorry for taking so long! 😭❤️❤️❤️❤️Ronald is definitely right handed. Holds his beer with his right hand. Holds his Death Scythe over his right shoulder with his right hand. Holds his knife in his right hand, when he slashed Sebastian on the left cheek with it; and pushed up his glasses with it.Most of the time, holds his agenda in his right hand. When he marked off that female's name, he had his agenda in his left hand due to using a stamper with his right.Has the watch on his right wrist. Is that what you mean by clock position? The close up of Ronald's watch when he looks at the time? It does look like it's from a left angle, but it's definitely not. Ronald always wears the watch there, never on the left. As for his white belt, I'm guessing they (or Yana) decided to change the color of it. Ronald's belt definitely appears white in the manga, and in one illustration of him with Grell and William, it was white. When Yosuke Crawford played Ronald in The Most Beautiful Death in the World, he wore a white belt. They changed some things in the movie, Ronald's belt color included from white to brown. On top of that, his belt was never seen in season 2 and 3 of Black Butler.
