COLOURS: Symbolisms, Associations & Psychological Effects
Black. Especially in Gothic literature from the West, a black colour choice often represents death, evil, grief, and depression. Associated with fear, the unknown and often has a negative connotation. Black clothes can make you look thinner. A black background severely diminishes the readability of most type. Often the go to colour for funerals and grieving. It symbolizes stability and power, which gives a sense of authority. Thus, the black colour often represents professionalism and expertise.
Blue. Has positive and negative connotations in colour psychology. Some writers may use blue to represent serenity and tranquility, instilling a scene with a calming effect. Blue can also signify sadness, melancholy, or isolation. People who find someone very loyal and faithful are often called "true blue". Blue is often considered to be more masculine which is why it is often the colour of choice when choosing a suit. Lighter blues are associated with tranquility, softness and healing. Darker blues are associated with power, knowledge and seriousness. Blue is actually shown to suppress appetites a bit. The colour blue symbolizes wisdom and hope. It’s the colour of peace and confidence. Blue has been shown to reduce blood pressure and pulse rate. It fosters serenity and a sense of belonging.
Green. The colour green often symbolizes rebirth, growth, peace, jealousy, and greed. Green colours may also represent spring and renewal. It is a colour that is very easy on the eyes. Dark green is often associated with ambition. Green suggests stability, safety and hope. At the same time, it may denote a lack of experience in a particular field. Green symbolizes peace, growth, and nature. It is the colour of success, promoting healing and tranquility.
Orange. The colour orange often represents energy, excitement, joy, and creativity. Since orange is the colour of fire, it may also symbolize heat. Since orange is not as aggressive as red, it can actually stimulate brain activity. It is very useful to catch someone's attention, which is why it's used a lot to advertise food and toys.
Pink. The colour pink symbolizes love, kindness, femininity, innocence, and playfulness. Certain shades of pink can limit aggression. Pink may be associated with unconditional love and caring.
Purple. Often associated with royalty, the colour purple symbolizes bravery, spirituality, and luxury. Light purple usually brings up romantic or nostalgic feelings; while a darker shade can make you feel gloomy or sad.
Red. The colour red symbolizes some of the most powerful human emotions, like passionate love or lust. On the other side of the spectrum, this warm colour is also the colour of blood, often symbolizing anger, danger, and violence. It stimulates the appetite. Red is an emotionally intense colour associated with energy, danger, anger, passion and determination. The symbolic meaning associated with the colour red is passion, excitement, and love. It’s the colour of urgency, power, and desire. Red is said to boost hunger and is believed to inspire confidence and excitement. This colour has also been found to increase blood pressure and heart rate.
White. This primary colour traditionally symbolizes innocence, peace, and cleanliness. In Western cultures, the colour white also represents purity and virginity, while it symbolizes mourning in some East Asian cultures. Usually has positive connotations when used and thought of as safe. Associated a lot with healing, simplicity and sterility, which is why it's used in hospitals and healing centers as much as it is. The symbolic meaning of the colour white is truth and sometimes even indifference. It encourages feelings of safety and cleanliness. Clean, white clothes and linens show sterility since stains are easily visible. That’s why doctors and nurses frequently wear white lab coats and scrubs.
Yellow. Writers may use the colour yellow to symbolize creativity, happiness, optimism, and warmth—think of a yellow ray of sunlight poking out from a dark cloud. A common negative connotation of the color yellow is cowardice, popularized by the phrase “yellow-bellied.” Warming effect which stimulates body and mind. Gold is associated with the highest of luxury. When bright yellow is used with black it's one of the easiest colour combinations to see from long distances; when uses with lighter colours it's not so easy to see. Yellow ribbons are worn as a symbol of hope and used quite often to welcome home loved ones. Yellow is the colour of warmth, kindness, and happiness. It’s often associated with optimism and well-being and promotes energy.
Brown. This warm, earthy brown colour may symbolize dependability, comfort, and a sense of being grounded. Brown is also a neutral colour, and writers may use it to represent dullness and predictability. Brown is a colour that is related to very grounded traits such as simplicity, practicality, common sense and hard work. Can also be associated with those that are frugal and not too flashy.
Gray. Lighter grays are often thought of as more feminine while darker grays more masculine. Gray is considered by many to be a neutral colour; the perfect balance between light and dark / good and evil. Pop up the lighter grays and add a little shine to it, and thought immediately turns to silver, which correlates to wealth.

Headpats? [Drew]
✎⁾⁾⁾ note: @neonsquad303, I hope you enjoy :)
Overview
You love animals
They’re so cute oomph-
And what’s better, you have a bf who has a jackal head
Yet you’re too shy to ask him to pet him
But that’ll change, don’t worry :)
Tumblr media
The sun gently colored your lengthening shadows, hands entwined, bodies walking side by side, close. Little zebra doves cuckooed softly, some waddling in pairs on the stubbly grass. Other bigger birds bobbled their heads and pranced around, following the occasional visitor for a morsel of food. As you followed the birds with your eyes, a small smile adorned your lips.
Spotting a wooden bench nearby, Drew gently squeezed your hand as he walked you to it.
“Oh…thanks,” you mumbled shyly, feeling a little embarrassed that you were caught ogling at some birds.
“You’re most welcome, dearest,” Drew replied. Fingers still entwined, he placed your hand atop his thigh and mindlessly rubbed small circles on the back of it, humming to himself. You stared at the bandages wrapped around his fingers, a pleasant warmth creeping up your neck.
Drew, noticing your gaze on the park birds, said out of the blue, “According to an article I read somewhere, birds that are in pairs are couples. They’re mates for life.”
Just like us.
“Really?” Leaning your head on his shoulder, you eyed a pair of zebra doves who were constantly waddling together; after one took off, the other followed suit. “That’s…cute.”
“Mmm…yes,” Drew hummed.
It was moments like these, serene yet intimate, that put your mind at ease. No nervous smiles in front of strangers. No formal greetings and goodbyes. No one to level with. You stole a glance at Drew, locking eyes for a brief moment. His eyes narrowed into sweet amethyst slivers and they sucked you in, eliciting a flustered squeak from you.
“Are we embarrassed, perhaps?” he teased gently.
Unable to hide the growing smile and the hotness rising to your cheeks, you buried your face into Drew’s shoulder, evoking an amused chuckle from your lover.
After boring yourself of park birds, your gaze landed on Drew. Ever since day one, you wondered if his fur felt like a dog’s, or if he liked headpats, or if he could actually hear your heartbeat keenly. You kept your mouth shut, however, as you didn’t want to seem childish to your prim and proper boyfriend.
From the corner of his eye Drew noticed the curious gaze you gave him, and asked, “Is there something on your mind?”
He still hadn’t let go of your hand, keeping it warm on his leg. Your tongue swelled, rigid in your throat. He’d caught you looking for the second time.
Drew, being the proper gentleman he is, wouldn’t like to play around, would he? Gentle and caring he was, treating you with the utmost care in the world, like a gem. So you simply settled with staring at the smooth fur adorning his jackal head, imagining how pleasant it’d be to run your fingers through it. Your eyes quickly darted to his sun-contoured black fur, to the shiny rim of his spectacle, then to the curious purple eyes of his.
Finally, after mustering up the courage you could, you asked softly, “Can I pet your head?”
Drew, albeit having excellent hearing, wanted to confirm for his own amusement. “Come again?” he asked, ears twitching.
You chewed the inside of your cheek. Perhaps your fears were true. Perhaps your boyfriend hated getting headpats. Perhaps your timid request fell on deaf ears. Color drained from and bloomed on your cheeks all at once, and you fought the urge to slap your hands on your face.
“Can I…pet your head…?” you asked once more, deathly unsure this time.
Drew, finally smiling, replied, “Of course.”
“...Really?”
“How could I say no?” Drew chuckled at the nervous smile adorning your lips.
Like how an excited child would reach out to a puppy, you slowly took your boyfriend’s head into your hands. Smooth, shiny black fur. The fluff around his ears. The soft ridges of his brows and jaw. It was enough to send you into pure bliss. You played around with the texture, stroking fur this way and that, but at the same time making sure to smoothen the poofs before thumbing another area.
“Oh, I’ve been waiting for this moment.” Drew nestled his head between your palms, throat thrumming faintly.
Giggling you asked, “So…you like headpats?”
“I love headpats,” Drew confirmed. Then he added softly, loud enough for only you to hear, “Especially if they’re from you, dearest.”

Counting bodies like sheep? I must know more...
Heh, ok this one is really making my head spin and I haven't made much progress on it yet, but this is my JJK villain!Nanami fic. The title is stolen from the Perfect Circle song Pet, which I think is a great song about manipulating the narrative that a person experiences in their life to the point where they only see what the manipulator wants them to see. But anyway, I have this great image in my head of Nanami looking sharp in an all black suit except for an extremely chintzy, shiny black and gold zebra stripped tie, perhaps adjusting his gloves and saying, very calmly, "I count the bodies like sheep and it helps me sleep at night". And it haunts me. LOL I kinda want Nanami and Geto to be murder pals or whatever in this, but honestly their grievances don't match up well, Geto being fed up with non sorcerers, and Nanami's issues really stemming from sorcery and sorcerers and (probably) some Gojo-related issues. So IDK, like I said this one is still up in the air and I just have a lot of weird ideas but no direction yet.
I have gotten some inspo from some artists who have drawn Patrick Bateman-esque Nanamis, which I think is brilliant. Below is a snippet I wrote based off of the closing monologue from American Psycho, it is NOT going into the fic because it HEAVILY follows the text of the book, I just did it as a writing exercise to see if I could give it a Nanami twist. Bret Easton Ellis, if you see this I'm sorry. XD
There is an idea of a Nanami Kento, the illusion of something entirely human, something molded into serenity and politeness by traditions and ideals, but there is no real Nanami Kento, only a curse, a blight, a stain upon an institute of tradition and obedience. And you may sit and talk with him, hold a conversation with him, even watch his mouth form a smile and think that perhaps he finds you to be good company, finds you funny, finds you engaging; but he does not. He has form and function, but he is nothing else. He exists before you, but he is not there.
Hopefully one day I will come up with something substantial!

This sketch of the Serenity figure from the Skullpanda Sound series was drawn from life, and I was originally going to just keep it as a quick and silly doodle - but the more I continued to work on it, he more developed it got, and I ended up with this drawing in the end!
It's still rough, and since I only used the super fine Zebra Zensations fude pen and no pencil guidelines, there were mistakes I couldn't fix, Iike where the legs meet at the bottom of her torso; that said, I am happy with how I was able to figure out how do the ombre on the sleeves using a pen where pressures doesn't lighten the ink flow!

Hoodwinked on OakPoint (2017)
Okay so #BOOM. Holdon lemme-
Set the Scene: October 2017, Bronx, New York, Halloween Night
Its my first time in #NewYork, I just turned 18 and my gurl @ the time had brought me tickets to go see #TRAVISSCOTT !! On #HALLOWEEN NIGHT!! @ the time i was the biggest Trav fan, truthfully idk if we were fighting at that time (we were always fucking fighting) but she #FISHERR looked out I will say that much.
PS: D****** would end up being my most #toxic love/relationship, which you'll begin to understand in later post. Anyways..
Lets put this into perspective. Im not a person that brags cause my family story started in a place of poverty. I love where im from, #PGCounty. Simply put-my family did everything the right way to get us out of that situation and that's the story I choose to tell. Now if you FROM THAT then you KNOWW #hood shit when you see it.
My biggest pet-peeve has to be: You was never raised in that environment but you swear you THINK you know how to move cause you not "scared". Then me "reading-and-reacting" gets confused for overthinking and being "pussy". So you think.
No. That?.. Her? Problematic.
So we get into the concert. Travis literally takes 1.30hr to come out with NO OPENER, or I dont remember. In the mist of his taking his sweet ass time-it was some niggas in that mf ready to shake the spot on bro. They was moving hella funny fr. They had secret lil call outs, matching Mocler's on and shit, it seemed like they was looking for somebody. They had these masks on like different animals type shit and im just lookin, watchin how they move. See, I was lookin too hard, lacking-just right behind me over my shoulder was a Monkey mask and a Moncler.. Damn. I got caught lookin by the same person ion want the attention of. Fuck it. Be cool, we cool. I think to myself.
My gurl on the other hand has no clue what the hell is happening, turns around, cusses the dude out for standing too close. Great.
Some "yeah, whatevers" and a couple "sound goods" were exchanged as I stepped in between them. Situation diffused. Problematic.
TRAVIS SCOTT IS ON THE STAGE. Im screaming, she screaming, everybody's pumped. Its great. Now if you ever survived the Rodeo you know there's no such thing as staying in one spot. if you not strong enough you WILL get pushed over. Its simple. So I got my gurl in one arm and the other hand recording/moshing, whatever. I held it down. In this moment there's actual #peace and #serenity. We not fighting, Travis Scott is flying on an eagle, were looking in each others eyes the whole time during #Drugs Like This, I almost loved her. So close.. Then she looses her purse. #OMFG. Money, ID, Social, phone, charger gone, all in the fucking purse. Why. UGHHHHH
First instinct, make my girl happy. I pull out my flashlight and point it at the floor, franticly moving people out the way and interrogating them at the same time. This somehow makes my gurl more unhappy. Problematic.
I look up and Zebra face, Moncler man got the fucking bag. He's literally looking back smiling as they walk through the doors of the warehouse. In between us there 2000 people, raging. Fuck

where to travel
Embarking on a journey to explore the vast wonders of our world is an exhilarating endeavor, and the choices seem boundless when pondering where to travel . One might find solace in the serene landscapes of New Zealand, where rolling hills meet pristine lakes, creating a picturesque scene that seems almost surreal. Alternatively, the bustling streets of Tokyo beckon with their vibrant energy and technological marvels, offering a glimpse into the future while rooted in a rich cultural tapestry.
where to travel
For those with a penchant for history, the ancient ruins of Machu Picchu in Peru stand as a testament to the ingenuity of past civilizations, perched atop the Andes with a mystical allure that transcends time. Meanwhile, the sun-kissed beaches of the Maldives provide a tropical paradise for those seeking relaxation and tranquility, with crystal-clear waters and overwater bungalows creating a dreamlike escape. Venturing to the heart of Europe, Prague's cobblestone streets and Gothic architecture transport visitors to a fairy-tale setting, while the artistry of Florence, Italy, captivates with its Renaissance treasures and delectable cuisine. Nature enthusiasts may find their haven in the majestic fjords of Norway, where towering cliffs and emerald waters create a spectacle that humbles the soul.
Self-reflection where to travel
On the African continent, the Serengeti's vast savannas offer an unparalleled safari experience, with the annual migration of wildebeests and zebras painting the landscape in a breathtaking display of wildlife in motion. For a taste of the exotic, the bustling markets of Marrakech beckon with their vibrant colors, aromatic spices, and the echo of ancient traditions. Closer to home, the Grand Canyon's colossal depths and crimson hues remind us of the Earth's geological wonders, while the cultural melting pot of New York City invites exploration and discovery at every corner. In the end, the choice of where to is as diverse as the destinations themselves, each offering a unique blend of experiences to satiate the curious spirit of the intrepid traveler. Whether drawn to the serenity of nature, the pulse of urban life, or the allure of historical treasures, the world unfolds as a canvas of endless possibilities, inviting us to embark on a journey of discovery and self-reflection where to travel.
