Definitely a fan of this spin on the All Links AU, but until the second jump it felt like it was going to be a short story: Skyloft Link seeing the final result of the curse he feared, but learning that even when failure is certain, life goes on. Did you always intend for it to stretch on into a much longer All Links AU, or was that part intentional?

the story was always intended to go this way! not to spell out my own themes I guess lol but part of the point is that the cycle seems like it ties into a neat bow that way, but the reality is that it doesn’t.

not that Slate is wrong or anything—Hyrule does always return, and the people are still here, and that means something. But it’s up to Loft to determine whether he’s satisfied with that, and that’s what the rest of the story is gonna explore

is that Mettaton grows to love this show. This cast!!! Sweet Cap'n Cakes as musical accompaniment, Elnina and Lanino as supporting cast, the Mikes and Shuttah and Ramb behind the scenes, the shadowguys and pippins and zappers all working as crew!!! He loves TV! He loves being on TV!!! He wants to keep this show running!!

Which means his crush on Tenna... Shouldn’t go anywhere. It's one thing for coworkers to have a fling, but he KNOWWWWS he's in deeper than that. He knows he's got it BAD bad. He overloaded his circuits to the idea of Tenna laying his head in Mettaton's lap and letting Mettaton rest a palm on the warm plastic of his casing. He COULD NOT be cool about this. So he's just! Going insane!!!

okay has anyone else dealt with extreme neat freak housemates? because I feel like I'm losing my mind

I'm not a dirty person, I'm pretty sure. a bit prone to clutter, but not actual dirt. I don't like for the house to be dirty. but there's just been a House Meeting called and when I went to ask the housemate who requested it what was going on- because I hate house meetings that I don't already know the purpose of; it feels like a Wait Until Your Father Gets Home situation and I don't even know what I'm potentially "in trouble" for

and basically they all feel that I'm leaving the kitchen "filthy"

I feel like I'm losing my mind, because...I don't think I leave the kitchen gross? I wipe crumbs off the counter; I wipe up spills if and when they happen. the most I've ever noticed when I go in there is a couple of crumbs here and there, genuinely. or when I look over the kitchen after I finish up with a meal

(also this housemate once sent a picture to the group chat with like. five single, spread-out crumbs on the counter individually circled in red. but the thing is, everyone else seems to agree with her)

but I'm also very good at hating myself, so now I'm wondering if I AM somehow disgusting

and of course, my House Meeting tribunal has to convene at some point. the last one made me feel like everything I said was pointless because everyone else put up a united front and shot it all down, so I guess I'm headed for more of the same

Question for Yellowjackets fans: Can someone point me towards or recommend some posts, or just other forms of material in general, that discuss how colonialism, or specifically aspects of it, are "shown" or "handled" within the show? I mean it's clearly copy-pasted and sent to multiple people but this isn't even a donations ask. Imma guess the reason people aren't responding is because you're accusing them of not doing enough for Palestine and sending it to multiple people who you clearly don't check because I've been posting about and for Palestine since oct 7th when I learned about it.

kiryuu sibling stasis post-32 is so interesting to me. nanami tries to leave and is (temporarily but also, crucially, violently) prevented from doing so by touga and akio. after this experience she puts distance between herself and them: she leaves touga’s phone in the car, she resigns from the student council (though she dons her old uniform still), she repeatedly dismisses and undermines the authority of the rose code, of end of the world, of akio, of touga. but she’s still in ohtori, isn’t she? uncomfortable with the idea of leaving, uncertain if it’s really possible. she tried before, and it hurt her. deeply. it’s so interesting to me, nanami’s agency and how she limits her exertion of it after 32, when she realises it for what it is. contrast that with touga, who accepts this weird stalemate between them, who is, really, uninterested in having any relationship of any kind with nanami if he can’t gain something from her. he’s very passive with her after 32, compared to the passivity he’d always feigned towards her before in order to stoke reactions from her and then exploit them. i was thinking about how touga has always been able to sever his relationship with nanami, but chosen not to; first out of a sense of obligation (‘we should live to help each other’) then a realisation of how that could be exploited. i was thinking about how nanami has never realised her ability to leave, in part because it is limited by touga and the harm he does her. i was thinking about the desperation and confusion akio calls out to anthy with as she leaves. i was thinking about how different that is to the kiryuus’ strange semi-breakdown; touga doesn’t want or need nanami, and nanami might love her brother but she cannot trust him or feel safe around him, doesn’t want to see him anymore; she’s itching to leave, and just a little scared (you know, because last time she tried that her brother assaulted her), and he’s not doing anything because ignoring her means he doesn’t have to deal with the emotions of her leaving or staying. something something gendered power dynamics something something tragic siblings

I think a lot of the time the Spider-Man fandom tends to throw around calling things erasure but I’m not insane for thinking that the fact exactly one (1) adaptation has ever acknowledged that Harry Osborn has schizophrenia kind of is right

I mean it doesn’t surprise me. Both Spider-Man media and the fandom has a bit of a problem with ableism and essentially treating ableism as a lesser form of discrimination. But it doesn’t change the fact that it’s frustrating to watch both adaptations and the fandom often bend over backwards to avoid talking about it.

i think that the reason so many minorities voted for trump is that they actually don’t like being viewed and babied as oppressed minorities. like dems are always like “oh nooo we have to protect the hispanics and the muslims and the women and the gays and the seniors” but esp to men (but also to women) that is embarassing and annoying and they’d rather have someone who negs them but shares a similar individualistic and selfish impulse to feel strong and powerful

Yeah, no. From now on, I'm refuse to say "you can enjoy media however you want." Enjoy the story that's given to you or just create your own derivative works and credit the OG story as inspiration. This is not about racist, sexist, or discriminatory works. This is about stories that are perfectly fine but people keep latching onto points in it that have nothing to do with the main theme or main characters or main plot or all three. Or about points that ARE discriminatory that should definitely be acknowledged but should be understood from a point of grace because humanity is limited and flawed and every era will have it's bad points, and that's what wehave to live with. And this is also not about people with personal traumasor neurodivergencies that cannot take even the slightest bit of a specific kind of or even wide range of unsettling content. There is a difference between individual enjoyment and collective enjoyment, and they both absolutely have influences on each other. But when the collective is starting to show a weird pattern of deciding that the story is about themes or things that actually have nothing to do with it, I'm gonna riot and tell individuals to take a good look at themselves and please, please, please learn to love stories for what they are, no matter what small thing from them drew you into them
