Title: Cinderella boy (2003) Season: 1 Vote: 6.5/10 The story behind this series is interesting. The mangaka creator of lupine, monkey punch, also had another idea in his head: that of a detective who, due to an experiment, shares his body with that of a woman with whom he exchanges places at midnight. Among the proposals, the lupine idea won and the other was discarded after just one manga chapter.

In 2013, an attempt was made to produce 13 episodes that expanded on the original idea. The result is a story that feels a lot like the Lupine series with the two body-swapping protagonists looking a lot like Fujiko and Lupin. The tone of the episodes is very similar and the product is sufficient but not good.

Just as the Lupin manga was highly censored and made more suitable for children in order to move from manga to anime, so too Cinderela boy, which was a more mature manga, was heavily sweetened with only one scene in which blood is seen, although obviously the female character often offers fanservice scenes.

Two small curiosities, the first is that almost all the recurring characters have names that recall fairy tales: dr. Grimm, Mr. Hook, Peter, Maid Oz, Rella Cindy, Mad Pig Band. The second is that in each episode Dr. appears for a few seconds. Grimm in the same way that director Hitchcock did in his films.

What if someone's fortunate event involves other people's unfortune? Like per see killing a set of parents (or just making sure someone killed them) and stealing all the money from the three super inteligent orphans as well as forcing them to do Cinderela level of horrible chores for no reason? Than what? If the orphans have good fortune the person that wants to screw them had a bad fortune. I paradoxed your ass.

Either that or I would read a story about Count Olaf going to babysit some kids for his alive friends writen by his bff Lemony who is not depressed ig.

Book review: Malice & Misrule by Heather Walter

Rating:

Malice: 4⭐️

Misrule: 3⭐️

𝐌𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐞: Sleeping beauty meets Cinderela. I knew that this was going to go down south but still, I was surprised. I sympathize with Alyce. She is mischievous, wicked, sarcastic, funny, and easily likeable. This story is told from the villain's perspective. But is she really one? She was born on the wrong piece of land and immediately labeled as a monster. Solely because of previous history and because her powers are different. She was bullied in her house (Cinderela trope); mistreated by everyone except Aurora; she finds her true love (sleeping beauty trope) and that’s immediately taken away merely because of who she is. She gets betrayed a lot of times and makes mistakes because of how misguided she was. However, she's also at fault at times, there were some decisions taken in which she knew fully well what she was doing. But she ended up becoming the person they labelled her as, because of other people’s decisions in the first place. (They tainted her) What I want to say is: it's not always black and white, there are some grey areas. It's important to acknowledge that. And we see that plainly in this book.

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐞: This one didn't hit home like the previous book. I like how the book ended and it was fair. I actually wanted the story to end like that. However, the whole book was just one same cycle, repeating itself. Which I think makes sense, but I wasn't feeling sentimental like I thought I would be. If you know what I mean. But either way, it was a nice story.

The countrie follow the Cinderella story, and every year, the king, Manford, invite all the girls for a big ball, where they are destinated to get a suitor. If the girl go at three balls and don't get it a suitor, she is destinated to a hard and poor life. But, Sophia is a different girl, she doesn't want to go to the ball, because what she really wants, is escape and stay with her best friend.

WHAT I REALLY THINK ABOUT THE BOOK

Cinderela Is Dead is a so good book. It's innovative, reflective, and has so many good plots that make me cry, and surprised me. But, that is a bad point about. The book is that type that always balances between the bad and the good times. One time is so good, you wanna so much know what is going to happen, but in another, you don't give a shit. My note for this book is 8/10. Is just not my favorite.
