Reincarnation Au :>
Y/N is a servant for the God of Life (Sun) and the God of Death (Moon)
After y/n dies saving the gods from an attack. Sun and moon both agree y/n should be reincarnated because of their loyalty to them. However, after many many lifetimes sun and moon find themselves falling for y/n. They know y/n should already be in the afterlife but they can’t stop themselves from reincarnating y/n over and over just to be with them.
Over time sun and moon have loved y/n romantically, platonically and queer-platonically. Sun and moon don’t mind at all they just want to be with y/n no matter what kind of love it is <3
After y/n dies they end up at the start of a long path with moon waiting for them there. As y/n and moon walk down the path y/n is able to remember all their previous lives and can talk to moon about them. It’s bittersweet though as y/n knows they’re going to be reborn, meaning they wont have any previous memories of sun and moon until they inevitably die again. moon gives y/n a kiss on the hand as they leave and another kiss on the hand once they meet in life again.
Both sun and moon can shapeshift into any type of form (including human) but they have their preferences, moon prefers to be a crow while sun prefers to be a deer.
my brain hurts so bad and cant rewrite all of the stuff about this au so please direct yourself towards this post where there’s a lot more things you can read :’>
very very big thank you to @certified-handler @robinette-green and @ofsunnydays-and-moonlitnights for helping flesh out this au <3<3<3!!!!!

Idk why, but Riku’s Braveheart keyblade design has been REALLY bothering me lately.
I drew some stuff on paper, and I liked the new design I came up with, but I was really not vibing with the cross guard, pommel, and hilt. So I brought the design over to the iPad and came out with this:
Nightmare form (left) and Daydream form (right)
I was so excited that I kind of rushed them, but whatever.
I went for a balanced light and dark design, since Riku has harnessed both as of KH3. Speaking of which, I renamed it Evictus, which is Latin for overcome.
Before you bring it up! I chose not to draw the keychain because I didn’t want it to distract from the main design. It would be attached to the tip of the angel wing near the pommel; and I’d want it to be either Mickey or the dream eater symbol.
Yeah, so what do you think? I wanted to kind of go back to Riku’s dream eater/ Way to Dawn roots with this one!

These are some in-universe weapon/tech concepts for Retrograde, I actually had a lot of fun drawing these! Most of them are used for as references for when drawing the actual comic. The in universe lore is that the weapons that Sam and Val use are actually weapons commonly used by soldiers in the military but were modified by Eli (their friend who runs a mechanic shop, she also fixes Val's bike and any random things that comes by). In Retrograde, many weapons are made using lasers and laser blades as they're more powerful than your average steel/metal. However, they take up a ton of energy and have really low battery life. They are great for cutting down robots and droids though.
Last image is just what their phones look like. In this universe, after the giant cataclysm that destroyed the previous era, the world kinda overwent a giant technological set back. Basically most things never really made it out of the analog systems and so a lot of the tech is similar to most tech from the 90s and early 00s. Sam and Val's phones don't have a touch screen, they use a joycon and buttons to navigate around the screen and a pull out keyboard to type messages (like an handheld game console, the inspo was mostly from flip phones and the DS lol). The computer on top is probably the closest you'll get to a laptop, it's pretty clunky and is mainly used by field researchers for analyzing data. Sam and Val do end up doing a bounty for a group of researchers so I was trying to figure out what they'd use for data and stuff.

having worked in public health emergency preparedness for a couple years puts an interesting slant on my current interest spiral around chemical weapons, and now biological also. like.. one of the primary raisons d'être for the very existence of public health emergency preparedness as a field is concerns about 'bioterror.' anthrax, tularemia, plague, botulism. we would run simulation exercises and make plans about how to mass distribute doxycycline and ciprofloxacin to the local population. we would talk about what was the closest location with a cache of atropine to treat nerve gas (or just organophosphate) poisoning. still, the CBRNE plans where I worked were the absolute weakest link in our preparedness arsenal, bar none. there barely was a plan. there was a document with an outline.
and then with that background, I'll read about the history of US experiments with weaponizing anthrax, tularemia, plague, botulism, q fever, crop molds and diseases, etc. not that it comes as a surprise, but it's nonetheless remarkable how much money and effort the federal government pours into doing bioterror, and how little into managing its health effects. and it's ironic to think how much public health emergency preparedness feeds into notions of shoring up 'national security' and never imagines that the threats they would face could come from the hallowed halls of the national security state itself.
like. experimenting with diseases you can inflict on your enemies? intentionally increasing the lethality of those diseases? all blatantly appalling ethics aside, is infecting people whose governments you don't like or killing their crops or their livestock or poisoning their air or water or soil really worth introducing new threats that may very well come back to bite you? diseases spread; that's perhaps one of their hallmark qualities. I know that blowback does tend to come as a lamentable surprise, somehow, to the actors who engender it, but. jfc. it's like pouring gasoline on both your enemies and yourself while all the while designing better matches, and, I suppose, holding a small cup of water in your free hand.
