i have not conducted any real studies on this (i should) but a lot of the time... if he's talking about auston TO auston's face or if auston's in the room, he'll whip out the sillier nicknames like big papi or tone.... like in the blueprints or in any interviews where they're in the same room (see: 2021 media day)... sometimes following 'my guy' or smth.... depending on his mood, when he's more serious with media he actually does say just auston quite a bit, like when he has to consider his answer or bring him up in combination with other guys. he did yesterday... 34 is a lot of the times with more headline or soundbite sounding statements,, like when an answer is prepared "when you see 34 coming down the ice, you get him the puck" or whatever..., but actually the most common way he refers to him in media availabilities is probably auston if i had to take a guess.

RIO: The guys and I were hanging out in town today, but they kept saying that they wanted to head home even though it hadn’t gotten that late yet, so I figured that something was up. Then, they gave me some gifts of a butcher’s knife with my name engraved on it, a hot plate, a slab of sirloin, and a salt set. I’m very thankful to them for all of their great gifts.

I think it was middle school, because of the classes we had and the fact that Garu/Karu were playing with the teacher’s kids after school. (Karu taught them to gamble.) I just held my hand out to him, and he took it. We were in science class, so perhaps there was a biology subject that’s uncomfortable to a snake youkai, so he needed comfort. And his hand was warm, like a snake carefully controlling the temperature of her eggs so all the snakelets hatch.

awww that's cute as hell i wonder if they were going over oviparity or the most deadly venoms or maybe just straight up talking about predatory birds yoinking snakes off the ground and
