Bronze Mask from a Roman Cavalry Helmet ( A.D. 75–125).
‘Originally part of a large helmet, this detached face mask was part of the armour worn by soldiers in the Roman cavalry. The face may represent Aphrodite, Artemis, or even Apollo. A military unit's patron god or goddess would have determined which deity would be depicted on the face mask worn by members of the unit. This mask would have been used in elaborate ceremonies rather than in battle.’

U.S. Returns Trafficked Ancient Art to Italy
A fresco depicting Hercules and originally from Herculaneum, a city destroyed along with Pompeii by the 79 A.D. eruption of Mount Vesuvius, was back in Italy Monday, along with 59 other ancient pieces that had been illegally trafficked to the United States. Last summer, U.S. authorities announced that the fresco and dozens of other trafficked objects, which ended up in private collections in the United States, would go back to Italy.
Among the more precious pieces Italian and U.S. officials displayed to journalists in Rome was a B.C. kylix, or shallow two-handled drinking vessel, some 2,600 years old. Also returned was a sculpted marble head from the 2nd century B.C., depicting the goddess Athena.
Italy said the returned works were worth more than $20 million overall.
The fresco, done in the classic style of Pompeiian art, depicts Hercules as a child strangling a snake.
The returned pieces had been sold by art dealers and ended up in private U.S. collections, lacking documentation to prove they could be legally brought abroad from Italy.
Under a 1909 Italian law, archaeological objects excavated in Italy cannot leave the country without permission unless they were taken abroad before the law was made.
Among those at Monday's presentation was Manhattan Assistant District Attorney Matthew Bogdanos, chief of that office's unit combatting illicit trafficking in antiquities. On this investigation, his office worked jointly with a specialized art squad from Italy's paramilitary Carabinieri.
"For Italian antiquities alone we have executed 75 raids, recovered more than 500 priceless treasures valued at more than $55 million,'' Bogdanos said.
Italy has been a pioneer in retrieving illegally exported antiquities from museums and private collections abroad.
The country has been so successful in recovering such ancient artworks and artifacts that it created a museum for them. The Museum of Rescued Art was inaugurated in June in a cavernous structure that is part of Rome's ancient Baths of Diocletian.
Italian cultural authorities are deciding whether to assign the latest returned pieces to museums near to where they were believed to have been excavated. Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano told reporters that another possibility is having a special exhibition of the returned pieces.
It's not only Italy that loses pieces of its history when artifacts are discovered in clandestine excavations and smuggled off to art dealers for profitable sales. Academic experts, deprived of valuable information about the context of the area where the objects were originally found, lose out on knowledge about past civilizations, too.

Così come credo siano orgogliosi tutti i popoli".
Notare bene l'incipt: "è per ragioni legate alla difesa di quella appartenenza a cui molti di noi sono legati - io in particolare con orgoglio - la cultura italiana, il ceppo linguistica, il modo di vivere. Così come credo siano orgogliosi tutti i popoli".
A breve, seguirà la dichiarazione del ministro che parlerà delle proprie dichiarazioni, dettate dalla propria ignoranza personale sui e dei fatti

St. Moses the Ethiopian was an Ethiopian who lived in late 4th century Egypt. Moses was changed one day when, at age 40, he and his group of 75 robbers attacked a monastery, intending to rob it. He was met by the abbot, whose peaceful countenance and warm manner overwhelmed him. He immediately felt remorse for all his past sins. Sincerely repenting, he begged to remain at the monastery. Ultimately, his whole band of robbers repented and became monks. He was continually tormented by his past ways and the demon of lust and was tempted to return to his old ways. Through the prayers of his abbot, St. Moses was miraculously healed. Near the end of his life, he was ordained priest, and founded a monastery of 75 monks -- the same number as his former group. In 405 A.D., at age 75, Moses suffered a martyr’s death, when his monastery was attacked by a group of fierce barbarians. He prophesied concerning his own death telling fellow monks on the day of the raid, “All who take the sword, will die by it.” St. Moses the Ethiopian is commemorated on August 28.

The Church remembers Père Jacques Hamel, Priest and Martyr.
Ora pro nobis.
Jacques Hamel (30 November 1930 – 26 July 2016 A.D.) was a French Catholic priest in the parish of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray. On 26 July 2016, Hamel was murdered during the 2016 Normandy church attack by two Muslim men pledging allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant while he celebrated Mass in his church. During the attack, Hamel said "Satan, go!" when confronted by his killers.
Hamel was born on 30 November 1930 in Darnétal, France. At the age of six he became a choirboy in St. Paul's Church in Rouen and at 14 he entered the minor seminary. He served in the military for 18 months in Algeria. He did not wish to be an officer as he did not want to issue orders to other men to kill.
Hamel was ordained as a priest on 30 June 1958. He served as a vicar at the St. Antoine church in Le Petit-Quevilly from 1958, a vicar at the Notre-Dame de Lourdes church in Sotteville-lès-Rouen from 1967, a parish priest in Saint-Pierre-lès-Elbeuf from 1975, and a parish priest in Cléon from 1988. He joined the church in Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray in 2000.
He officially retired at the age of 75, but was allowed to keep serving in the parish. As a result, he assumed his role as the parish's assistant priest from 2005 to his death.
With local imam Mohammed Karabila, the president of Normandy's regional council of Muslims, Hamel worked since early 2015 on an interfaith committee. After Hamel's death, Karabila described him as his friend with whom he had discussed religion and as also someone who gave his life for others.
The circumstances of his death have led him to be called a martyr by Christians, including Pope Francis, non-Christians, and the press. Calls to make him a saint started soon after his death. The canonization cause was officially opened at diocesan level in April 2017, after Pope Francis had waived the otherwise mandatory five-year waiting period for the opening of such causes.
Almighty God, by whose grace and power your holy martyr Jacques triumphed over suffering and was faithful even to death: Grant us, who now remember him in thanksgiving, to be so faithful in our witness to you in this world, that we may receive with him the crown of life; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever.
Amen.

Archaeologists have uncovered Greek full-colour portraits of mummies – the first to be found in 115 years – the Egyptian government has announced.
Researchers found the two full portraits of Egyptian mummies and fragments of others at the Gerza excavation site in Fayoum, making these artworks the first of their kind to be discovered in over 115 years.
English archaeologist Flinders Petrie was the last to find similar artwork when he discovered 146 mummy portraits at a Roman cemetery in 1911, Artnet News reports.
The findings are from a dig site located amid the ruins of the ancient city of Philadelphia, which according to the Austrian Archeological Institute, lies in the northeastern corner of Fayoum, approximately 75 miles southwest of modern-day Cairo.
The team investigating the Gerza archaeological site in Fayoum also uncovered a funerary building, records written on papyrus, pottery, and coffins dating from the Ptolemaic period, which spans from 305 B.C. to 30 B.C., through the Roman era, which lasted from 30 B.C. to 390 A.D.
The government has said these finds give fascinating insights into the social, economic, and religious conditions of the people living in Philadelphia (which meant, in ancient Greek, "City of Brotherly Love") nearly 2000 years ago.
The collection of paintings, known as the Fayoum portraits, portrays some of the wealthiest people that existed in these ancient communities. The Philadelphia settlement was home to Greeks and Egyptians over the 600-year period.
Basem Gehad, the head of the Ancient Philadelphia Excavation project, which led the latest dig, wrote in an email to Artnet News that "no one really knows the context of these portraits," but added, "Now, we can know certainly where they came from, and find more."
In addition to these finds, archaeologists also revealed a rare terracotta statue of the goddess Isis Aphrodite inside a wooden coffin, per Artnet.
Gehad told the news outlet the statue "reflects the influence of Greeks on Egyptian art as a result of [the] new community living there."
A statement from the Egyptian government explains that pharaoh Ptolemy II Philadelphus (309–246 B.C.) established Philadelphia as an agricultural village meant to secure further food resources for his empire.
Researchers have been digging at the site since 2016, according to the government.

Pathans and Jatts need to use sword power https://youtu.be/lKCSYAUK5IE Sons of Satan by their powers. In the Middle East, the people of the Juda tribe are Baby Princes of Darkness and for them, just a rebuke by Christ Jesus was enough and the money thief Juda Iscariot killed himself as the 30 Shackles had become blood money. He tried to return to the Treasury of Temple but they refused to take it back. So, he threw the money into the Temple of Yahweh, Brahma, Khuda, etc., the Potter of male and female; thus, the Temple Priests bought a field and called it Potter’s Field. There, the use of the sword power was not needed. In the East were the people of the Khatri tribe who became the administrators, Diwans, administrators of the invaders. They were happily fleecing the local people to please the invaders. The Khatris surpassed the people of tribes assigned the duty to lead the worship called Brahmin = Cohen. As the people of the Judah tribe controlled the people of the Levi tribe performing the job of Brahmin = Cohen, the people of the Khatri tribe dominated over the tribes that were doing the job of Brahmin and this is well represented in the Saying:- “PUTT JAMANN KHATRIANIAN; KOI KOI BAHMANIA” That is the sons of Khatris surpassed in the religious knowledge to those tribes who were assigned the job of Brahmin = Cohen”. Thus, when the Mohammedan rulers attacked India, the Khatris became Mohammedans and called themselves “Sheikh, " meaningSheikhs they know the Quran very well. The Khatri Sheikhs also understood the Gurbani; Gur = logical reasoning and Bani means Testament that was not understood by many. A typical example is the Saying:- MITTI MUSSALLMAN DI; PAEE PAERRAE GHUMIAR (Brahma = Yahweh = Khuda) and the Mohammedans do not like to cremate the body but bury it as the Jews advised them.                                                                                                                                                                                                       Gospel is by His grace only if you long for the Gospel Treasures and not of Mammon in greed. The Life of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): Calling the Tribes to Islam, the Allegiances of Aqaba and Migration to Madinah
Aqaba Pledges and the Spread of Islam in Madinah: Part 2
The Second Aqaba AllegianceIt was the 13th year of the Islamic calendar (622 A.D.)
During the Hajj season of this year, Hazrat Mus’ab bin Umayr came to Mecca with 75 people, two of them were women, of the Aws and Khazraj tribes.
This group went to our Holy Prophet (PBUH) who was sitting at the Masjid-al-Haram with his uncle Hazrat Abbas, and made the following offer:
Oh, Allah’s Apostle! We are a rather big group. We agree to take you amongst us, to help you, to sacrifice ourselves for your sake, and to protect your inner-being as we do your physical being. Where should we meet with you to further discuss this matter?”
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) again deemed it suitable to meet at Aqaba.
This meeting was to be held at night and no one else was to know. In fact, in order not to attract any attention they would leave from their encampment in very small groups to go to Aqaba.
As instructed, the Muslims from Medina gathered in the valley near Aqaba at nighttime without attracting anyone’s attention and without letting anyone else know.
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) came with his uncle Hazrat Abbas who had not become a Muslim yet. Hazrat Abbas’ purpose was to not leave his nephew alone in this important matter and to hear the given promises himself.
At first, Hazrat Abbas began to speak. He made a speech saying that if the Muslims of Madina were confident they could protect our Holy Prophet (PBUH) that they should proceed and if they were not confident then they had to abandon this plan at once.
However, the Muslims of Medina wanted our Holy Prophet (PBUH) to speak: They said, “O Messenger of Allah! You talk, too! Obtain the promise that you want for you and for your Lord from us.”
At that moment As’ad bin Zurara, the leader of the Muslims of Medina, received permission from our Holy Prophet (PBUH) to speak and said, “O Allah’s Apostle, every invitation has a way. That way can be either be or difficult! The invitation you make is a difficult one for the people of today to accept. You invited us to your religion and to abandon the religion we used to follow. This was a very difficult task. Despite this, we accepted your invitation. We were a community that protected our homeland with honor and against all kinds of invasion; nobody could dare to dominate us except us let alone a person who abandoned his tribe and whose uncles wanted to surrender him to his enemies. Although this was very difficult, we accepted your offer on this path! However, unless Allah bestows the resolve to discover the true path and the hope to reach beneficence, then none of this will appeal to the people. However, we accepted this by avowing with our tongues, testifying with our hearts, and reaching out to our hands. We testify to you by knowing and believing all that you bring from Allah. We testify to our Lord and your Lord. Allah’s powerful hands are upon our own hands. Our blood is with your blood, our hands are you with your hands. We will protect you as we protect ourselves, our children, and our wives. If we break our promise, then let us be grief-stricken people who have broken Allah’s promise.”
Hazrat As’ad bin Zurara completed the final portion of his speech:
“O Allah’s Apostle! Take whatever promise from us that you desire for yourself and for the sake of Allah.”
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) first recited some verses from the Holy Quran. Afterward, he listed the conditions he wanted for himself and His Lord’s sake:
My request for the sake of Allah, the Exalted, is that you;
“Worship Him without associating any partners to Him, you perform your salah (daily prayers) and to pray your zakat (alms.)
“As for myself;
“Testify that I am Allah’s Messenger and protect me as you would yourselves, your children, and your wives.”
This time Abdullah bin Rawaha received permission to speak; he said, “O Allah’s Apostle! If we fulfill what you say, then what is in it for us?”
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) replied, “Paradise.”
Happiness brightly shone in their eyes as they all testified and said, “In that case, this is a rewarding and beneficial exchange.”
Afterwards, they asked our Holy Prophet (PBUH), “How should we pledge our allegiance to you?”
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) answered, “You must promise me that you will testify to there being no god but Allah and that He sent me as His Apostle, to pray your salah (daily prayers), to pay your zakat (alms,) to obey me in times of joy and sorrow, to completely submit to my commands, to help me in every way, and when I go there, to protect me from the same things from which you would protect yourselves, wives, and children!”
Twelve Representatives
Upon this, our Holy Prophet (PBUH) declared, “Choose 12 individuals from among yourselves who will stand by me in every matter as the representatives of their tribes. Moses also had 12 representatives from the Sons of Israel.”
The Muslims of Madina chose nine representatives from the Khazraj tribe and three from the Aws.
The chosen individuals from the Khazraj were as follows:
1) Abu Umama As'ad bin Zurara, 2) Sa’d bin Rabi’, 3) Rafi’ bin Malik, 4) Abdullah bin Rawaha, 5) Abdullah bin Amr, 6) Bara’ bin Ma'rur, 7) Sa’d bin Ubada, 8) Ubada bin Sâmit, 9) Mundhir bin Amr.
The representatives chosen for the Aws were:
1) Usaid bin Khudayr, 2) Sa’d bin Haythama, 3) Abu'l-Haytham Malik bin Tayyihan.
All of these representatives were the leading figures of Madina, esteemed individuals, and literate scholars.
Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) said to these representatives, “Just as the disciples vouched for Isa (Jesus,) Son of Mary, against their tribes, you too are the disciples of yourselves. And I am the disciple of the immigrants from Mecca.”
They confirmed by saying, “Yes.”
Furthermore, after the 12 representatives were chosen, our Holy Prophet (PBUH) appointed Hazrat As’ad bin Zurara as the head of the 12 representatives.
These representatives spoke to the groups they represented, explained the importance of the allegiance, and prepared their respective groups to also pledge their allegiance to our Holy Prophet (PBUH.)
Afterward, our Holy Prophet (PBUH) extended his holy hand. The Muslims of Madina all pledged their allegiance one by one. Only the two women did not give their hands but he accepted them as having pledged.
In a sense, this allegiance was an alliance made between the Muslims of Madina and Mecca.
The Polytheists Sense Things!
The Allegiance took place in the darkness of the night in a secluded place that nobody other than those invited could see.
Despite this, as soon as the allegiance was complete, they all heard a sound: “O Quraysh! Muhammad and the Madinans who have left the religion of their fathers, have gathered and agreed to wage war on you!”
Where could this voice that tore the silence of the night be coming from? Concern and worry overcame everyone.
This voice resembled the voice of Munabbih bin Hajjaj. Our Holy Prophet (PBUH) commanded: “Immediately return to your camps!”
At that time, Abbas bin Ubada said, “O Allah’s Apostle, if you would like, as soon as morning comes, we can sharpen our swords, tread upon the community of Mina, and slay them.”
However, our Holy Prophet (PBUH) was commanded to use his sword of patience, he declared,
“No, no. We are not yet commanded to act in this way. Everyone, return to your spots.”
Upon this, the Muslims of Madina returned to their camps.
When the morning came, the polytheists began to investigate this incident whose purpose was yet unknown to them. At first, they asked the polytheists of Madina. However, they swore they were uninformed of this matter, “Such a thing did not happen. We do not know of such a thing.”
The Muslims of Madina thought silence was the best way, and for that reason, they did not say one word.
This time, the polytheists went to Abdullah bin Ubai bin Salul and asked him. He said, “That is a grand work. Such a thing must not have happened. These must be empty words. The tribe did not consult with me. When I was in Yathrib they did not do anything without first consulting with me.”
The polytheists then determined that the polytheists of Madina knew nothing about this matter.
If our Holy Prophet (PBUH) had not said, “Do not let anyone else know about this incident” and if the Muslims of Madina had not concealed this matter from their polytheist compatriots, then, of course, this matter would have been heard by the polytheists of Mecca and a great trouble would have befallen upon the Muslims.
When the Season of Hajj came to a close, the Muslims of Madina set off to return to their homeland.
A short time after the Muslims of Madina had left, the polytheists learned what had happened. They immediately planned to keep a close watch on the Muslims from Madina. However, it had been a long time since they had left; thus, they were only able to capture two people: Sa’d bin Ubada and Mundhir bin Amr. These two individuals had somehow stayed behind when the caravan set off. Much later, Hazrat Mundhir was able to find a way and escape from their hands. The polytheists only brought Sa’d bin Ubada to Mecca. They took their anger and resentment out on him by torturing and subjecting him to all kinds of cruelty. At last, Hazrat Sa’d bin Ubada was released from this torture when he received the protection of two polytheists he had known from long before and who had been his guests in Madina.
Madinah Muslims who returned to their homeland were looking forward to welcoming muhajirs and the Messenger of Allah!

at Bearden 3 Farragut 0
Friday, April 19, 2024 7pm
Jack Raulston scored two goals, both assisted by Nic Prins, to lead Bearden over visiting Farragut 3-0 Friday in a key, hard-fought District 4 matchup between neighborhood rivals.
Dillon Sims broke a scoreless tie in the fifteenth minute, when he took a nice backfield pass from junior defender Cole Stopka and scored as he attacked just inside the eighteen.
The Bulldogs continued working hard to manufacture scoring opportunities against the tough Admiral defense. With just :25 seconds before the half, Prins served up a perfect corner kick for Raulston to score on a thunderous header into the net, giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead at intermission. “That was really big,” the affable senior midfielder said. “That gave us the momentum and fire to finish off the game!”
Midway through the second period, the duo connected again as Prins found Raulston down the right side, who drove to the middle and struck on a nifty left-footer for the final 3-0 margin with 23:18 remaining.
Stopka was impeccable from the backline, reading, clearing and heading anything that encroached his territory, while Logan Nelson had another stellar performance in goal as the Bearden defense earned their third shutout of the year.
Goals: DILLON SIMS (15’ assist-Cole Stopka); JACK RAULSTON (40’ Nic Prins); JACK RAULSTON (57’ Nic Prins);
Shots/Shots-on-goals: BHS 17/8 FHS 6/4. Corner Kicks: BHS 16 FHS 3. Fouls: BHS 7 FHS 7. Yellow Card: BHS#7 (58’). Conditions: fast, clearing skies, 75 degrees.Attendance: 433. Records: BHS 9-2-1 (2-0-1) FHS 5-2-1 (2-1-1).

The Church remembers Père Jacques Hamel, Priest and Martyr.
Ora pro nobis.
Jacques Hamel (30 November 1930 – 26 July 2016 A.D.) was a French Catholic priest in the parish of Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray. On 26 July 2016, Hamel was murdered by two Muslim men who stormed into his church during the Divine Liturgy, shouting out their allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, and then cut his throat while he celebrated Mass in his church. During the attack, Hamel said “Satan, go!” when confronted by his killers.
Hamel was born on 30 November 1930 in Darnétal, France. At the age of six he became a choirboy in St. Paul’s Church in Rouen and at 14 he entered the minor seminary.
As a result, he assumed his role as the parish’s assistant priest from 2005 to his death.
With local imam Mohammed Karabila, the president of Normandy’s regional council of Muslims, Hamel worked since early 2015 on an interfaith committee. After Hamel’s death, Karabila described him as his friend with whom he had discussed religion and as also someone who gave his life for others.
The circumstances of his death have led him to be called a martyr by Christians, including Pope Francis, by non-Christians, and even the French press.
Amen.

Mormon, Chapter 4, Part 1. "The Times."
Tumblr media
War and carnage continue—The wicked punish the wicked—Greater wickedness prevails than ever before in all Israel—Women and children are sacrificed to idols—The Lamanites begin to sweep the Nephites before them. About A.D. 363–75= 508, the Passover.
Notice, NUMNUTZ, the text says the story takes place in the vicinity of the Holy Land, not in North America.
1 And now it came to pass that in the three hundred and sixty and third year the Nephites did go up with their armies to battle against the Lamanites, out of the land Desolation.
2 And it came to pass that the armies of the Nephites were driven back again to the land of Desolation. And while they were yet weary, a fresh army of the Lamanites did come upon them; and they had a sore battle, insomuch that the Lamanites did take possession of the city Desolation, and did slay many of the Nephites, and did take many prisoners.
3 And the remainder did flee and join the inhabitants of the city Teancum "the wake up call". Now the city Teancum lay in the borders by the seashore; and it was also near the city Desolation.
4 And it was because the armies of the Nephites went up unto the Lamanites that they began to be smitten; for were it not for that, the Lamanites could have had no power over them.
5 But, behold, the judgments of God will overtake the wicked; and it is by the wicked that the wicked are punished; for it is the wicked that stir up the hearts of the children of men unto bloodshed.
The Values in Gematria are:
v. 1: The Nephites did go up with their armies to battle against the Lamanites, out of the land Desolation. The Value in Gematria is 8347, חג‎‎דז‎ ‎"celebrated haddez" "they celebrated Hades, the wrong things."
v.2: And the Nephites were driven back again. The Value in Gematria is 11119, ט‎א‎אאא‎ ‎, "The Seventy Three."
There are 72 ways God's name YHVH can be spelled, plus the center point where all of creation originates= 73. All of these are moot in the presence of the unlearned, who murder, kill, steel, etc. and take prisoners of a society turning each person into a citizen of a City of Desolation.
A Nephite, a wise man will "drive out" the qualities inherent to the 72 names of God from the Center and restore his mind and his soul in the exact opposite manner.
v.3 The remainder did flee and join the inhabitants of the city Teancum "the wake up call". The Value in Gematria is 8940, ח‎טדאֶפֶס, hatdafes, "the sidestep." = Slow down and understand the limits.
v. 4: The armies of the Nephites went up unto the Lamanites that they began to be smitten. The Value in Gematria is 11023, יאאֶפֶסבג‎‎, Jaapesberg, "to screw the haughty."
v. 5: But, behold, the judgments of God will overtake the wicked. The Value in Gematria is 11721, יאזבא‎ ‎ ‎"will leave." "To live with the times."
Societies that engage in violence non-stop have no way of being Godly. Mankind is too smart to possibly believe there can be war, violence, oppression, and their side effects think it is incurring God's favor or forgiveness. The Gematria says if we live in the present moment, observe, and remove all the corrupt politicians and their allies from our lives then it will be possible to fathom God's goodness but not before.
