1. mommy (2014) - anyone with a mommy issues will be served an entire course of gourmet food. beautiful images, wonderful use of aspect ratio and outstanding acting performances all around

2. closet monster (2015) - one of my favorite films of all time and probably my favorite coming of age film, too. changed me as a person (connor jessup, you will always be famous to me!)

3. the hater (2020) - probably incredibly problematic in some way but this film is just completely insane and unhinged and makes a lot of valuable social commentary in the process

4. farewell my concubine (1993) - I wish everyone could see and appreciate this film the way I do (leslie cheung, you will forever be missed)

5. everything everywhere all at once (2022) - the themes! everybody cried because of the themes! lots and lots and lots of things are happening but in the end, it’s all about love and always has been

6. boarding school (2018) - I’m the only person in the world who truly understands this film actually

7. hatching (2022) - one for the ‘does my mom love me’ crowd with a lot of underlying themes and commentary. we really love a good horror film, we really do

8. happy together (1997) - just thinking about the film makes me shake and want to cry

9. the platform (2019) - horror is the best medium for social commentary of any kind and it’s time we say and accept it!

a commenter i love recently said they’d reread Ex on the Beach again and just the simple fact that people reread fics makes my heart go !!!!!

no but for real, inspiration came and went a lot in 2022. there were ups and downs!!

There’s a pull in Peter’s chest that’s impossible to ignore, the warmth now overflowing, spilling into his stomach, his lungs, his heart, ready to come out in a big wet wad of emotions.

“Hey—” He says, brushing her pinky with his knuckles, leaving drops of water on her skin.

It feels as if all the oxygen’s been sucked out of the room when she looks at him.

He’s always, always, always thought that MJ was beautiful, but there’s something about the way she’s smiling at him, the way she’s watching him, the softness in her gaze right at this moment. Something in how the wayward curls that have escaped her ponytail are framing her face, the way she looks so impossibly soft in her t-shirt, the way the glow from the light bounces off of her cheekbones.

God, he loves her.

“I love you.”

And the words come out of him so suddenly, so softly.

Write what you want!! it’s okay to write for others, but make sure it’s also for yourself!! follow your whims!! wherever they may take you!!

i had a newspaper au once upon a time that i scrapped bc the plotline was boring, but honestly political cartoonist MJ is fantastic so i haven't let go of that aspect of it fjalksdf

supercut 😌 we're 200k into a 9-part series that's just my Notes for Kevin Feige don't worry i am self aware enough to realize the absurdity

afjksdafj by nature of it being so long this is also supercut (which is also part of the reason it is so very dumb). but anything that i'm having fun with is worth it! if i wasn't still having fun with that big dumb series i wouldn't still be posting it

oh so many!! some from anonymous friends and some from known friends! anytime someone actually engages with, like, the stuff i was trying to accomplish with a story that makes my heart very happy. also i think we can all agree that @a24thegreenknight is a joy of a commenter always and forever with the staring at walls <3
