So apparently, my birthday and Muku's are really close together. Muku called me and asked if I wanted to celebrate our birthdays together. Course I agreed. We just got done playing some one-on-one street ball. Naturally, I won (the only one who can beat me is me), but that doesn't invalidate Muku's own skills. I'd love to play with him again sometime.

Anyways, we're going to go eat out later. Satsuki, Yuki, and some of our other friends are coming too. We gotta get ready, so I'm ending off the post here.

I've been meaning to talk about this since I first saw the posts people were making about yesterday's troupe blog post, but the more time passes the more this bothers me, so I think we need to talk about the way some of you have been talking about Misumi and the fact that he can drive. I'm going to apologize in advance for the wall of text I'm about to throw out though www

The immediate thing that comes to mind is people being shocked that he can drive, even though the fact that he has a license has been known since the Actor's Circuit event from July 2020, making it almost three-year-old knowledge now. I do understand that not everyone has kept up with events and stories past the shutdown of A3!EN and that little factoids like this sometimes slip the collective fandom consciousness, but it's the reactions to it that I find really weird (or if they're jokes that I'm taking too seriously, I just don't get them).

Three main types of posts I've been seeing are (1) people talking about Misumi "finally" getting his license and reacting to it in various ways, (2) people implying Misumi is driving without a license, and (3) people implying Misumi would be a bad driver because of triangular road signs, triangles in the outside world, etc.

On the topic of him "finally" getting his license, I'm going to bring up again that we've known this for close to three years, but that aside, people's reactions to that are really weirding me out. Every time I see someone (especially a younger member of the fandom) say they're proud of him, calling him their baby, and saying they feel like a proud parent, it really weird me out. It's understandable to feel proud, but at this point in the story Misumi is 21 years old (technically 22, since his birthday would've passed in June and we know that in the story it's past autumn since Banri and Juza are of legal drinking age now), and to an older member of the fandom it's understandable to see him as a baby, but with anyone else, I'm going to raise an eyebrow. I'll say more on that with the other two post types, though, because they all boil down to the same thing.

Both the implication that Misumi is driving without a license and that he'd be a bad driver speak volumes, too. Doing something like driving illegally or without enough practice is extremely dangerous and no one in the company would allow him to do that, much less post about it on the company's public blog (reminder that these blog posts are read by countless Mankai fans in-universe!). The main thing that bothers me, though, is people saying (joking about? I can't tell) he'd be a bad driver because he'd be distracted by triangular road signs and other objects. To me, this comes off as incredibly ableist.

Misumi is one of the easiest characters to read as autistic (if not the easiest), and a good amount of the fandom agrees on that. His character, whether this was the intention or not, comes off very strongly as being autistic or at the very least having some sort of neurodivergence in the way he acts, reacts, and feels about things. And whether or not you personally acknowledge this, treating him the way people have been reeks of ableism. Being shocked that he can drive, babying him (when, again, he is a whole 22 years old), and joking about him being distracted by triangles all speak volumes about how you view and treat neurodivergent people.

If you do acknowledge that he's neurodivergent and still treat him like this, I don't think I need to explain how blatantly ableist that is. If you don't or it didn't occur to you (which is understandable and I can't exactly fault you for that, because what's obvious to one person may not be to another), it still doesn't change his entire character and the fact that you see those traits of his and proceed to infantilize him like this is telling. Just because you don't see something or it hasn't been explicitly told to you, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Autistic people have suffered for centuries due to people treating them like overgrown children undeserving of autonomy, babying them and denying them rights and privileges granted to others their age because of their perceived immaturity. Painting your words in a positive light and saying you love him for it doesn't change that you're essentially treating him the exact same way. It doesn't change that you're treating this character, a grown man, like a child taking his first steps.

In the same way, implying he would get distracted by triangles and put other people in danger as a result (be it passengers or bystanders) is...again, I don't think I need to explain why that's bad. Neurodivergent people are so often labeled unsafe or a danger to society and face endless trouble because of it, from being denied healthcare to employment and many other things, even being institutionalized against their will. In most cases, that "danger" just isn't real. In this one, you're just reducing Misumi to a single trait (liking triangles) and completely dismissing the fact that he's a complete, fleshed-out character and capable of functioning like the adult he is. If he's driving, he clearly has a license. If he was able to obtain it, he clearly has a certain amount of skill behind the wheel. There's a lot more to his character than just triangles. He has thoughts and feelings and a whole range of skills, just like any other character. People just seem to forget that about him because he's vocal about a special interest and happens to be a cheerful character (and we all know how much happy little guys get reduced to just that).

I understand wanting to joke around and all, but please be mindful of who and what you're joking about. This has happened before with Guy and android jokes, and now it's happening again with Misumi. Too many fandom "jokes" lean very heavily into ableism and it's very unfunny and uncomfortable to see.

Hey everyone!

So May 15th is a big day for many fandoms in terms of birthdays: Twisted Wonderland, A3!, and many more really like to give a character a birthday then. And for Obey Me!, it's no different. Though that one in particular is special to me, because it's the birthday of a character that I absolutely love to bits.

Yes, I'll admit it, I'm down bad for Asmodeus, so much so that I've got both my OG and Nightbringer accounts stocked and ready for whatever comes within the next week or so (I WILL pull out the credit cards if push comes to shove). And that actually gave me a bit of an idea.

In NB, this boy is so ready to celebrate that today, the 14th, is classified as his "birthday eve" in-game (it's legit, check it out). And with that fact and the knowledge most birthday events last about a week long, I thought I would do something to not only bring this old clunker of a blog off life support, but also celebrate a character that does NOT get a lot of attention from fans and the devs alike.

For the next week, I'm gonna be making a post a day, and it will be Asmo-centric in some way. What will I be posting, exactly? That's for the week to bring and for YOU to find out!

Happy 7th anniversary Fuwa Maria and Fuwa Mario!

My UTAU babies are getting old now, and it's crazy to see how much they've grown and changed over these past few years, considering the amount of times I've changed their lore and designs LMAO. At this point they're well on their way to turning 10 in the next three years.

In celebration, I have prepared a celebratory illustration of my UTAUs and my online persona, both with and without the text :3 Other than that, I have scheduled an anniversary cover that will be uploaded later this afternoon. :3 Please look forward to it! I know I didn't plan to release any voicebanks today, but I will make up for it in the future.

Also, Maria and Mario's in-character birthday is set to April 4, 1298. I guess that makes them 724 years old at the time of writing this post! (dear god they're so old)

Hey, same person who told you which A3! VAs can rap, again. TY for the reply & for the Itaru 10th play N card.

In TWST, there’ll be a release of another part of Book 7 & a rerun of the Glorious Masquerade event w/ an SSR of Rolo(VA is Hiroshi Kamiya).

In A3!, I’ve been thinking about the charas who do the backstage prep. All I know is that everyone contributes to the blog, Tsuzuru writes the scripts, Itaru sometimes helps out w/ the blogging & info gathering, Chikage does the tech stuff & hacking, Citron is the ambassador of culture, Yuki sews the costumes, Kazunari designs the flyers & website & is the biggest blogger, Banri steps up as a stage director, Taichi helps Yuki sew, Omi photographs, Sakyo calculates the finances, Azami is the makeup artist, Tasuku sometimes fixes machinery, Matsukawa creates the music, Akashi handles the lighting, & Rento handles the sound.

In BLACKSTAR, all the charas perform(some act as directors) & serve the guests ‘cause they’re the waitstaff, except for Kongou ‘cause he’s actually a cook in the kitchen staff. Though Yakou is still the acting boss w/ Unei, Takami, & Kasumi providing some store management assistance (& sometimes Sinju ‘cause he wants to help & Sin), Taiga is in charge of the tech support & maintenance & is a hacker, Kei mostly makes the decisions in the store management & makes sure the performances are top quality, Heath only writes the music for TeamB, Qu was the make-up artist during 2 Summer Fest events, Ginsei wants to try script writing, & now there’s a new chara named Aogiri(青桐/Firmiana simplex/Chinese parasol tree) that can actually design the stage outfits & his VA is Taku Yashiro.

Also, Happy Birthday to BLACKSTAR’s Kei on 9/6, to A3!’s Banri & ParaLive’s Shura on 9/9, & to TWST’s Jamil on 9/12!

Hello! I didn't expect they would release Rollo's SSR, but at the same time it makes sense. I'm so glad the masquerade is coming back. This is my chance to get Idia! He avoided me back then.

It's exciting to know what the characters do aside of their actor roles in both A3! and Blackstar. This was a nice reminder about A3!'s characters side roles in MK company. A bit unrelated, but I want to see new link skills or updates of some of them soon.

Yey, September BDs!! Aah, I missed Kei's BD... I didn't recognize Haruomi as Shura for a bit, but hey, he shares BD with Banri! If I'm not wrong, Jamil's BD begins the new TWST BD card set.

I forgot to mention in TWST that the next Master Chef event will have Leona & Epel making dishes feat. milk. Also, I just realized in 2 Master Chef events where Ace & Idia cooked bell pepper dishes & where Floyd & Sebek cooked noodle dishes, their VAs were in the 2019 anime Horimiya w/ Idia’s VA playing Miyamura, Ace’s VA playing Ishikawa, Floyd’s VA playing Sengoku & Sebek’s VA playing Mizouchi. In A3!, I found out what minor roles Banri & Juza will play for their B-day cards. I was surprised that Banri’s from the South Hill Prison play & Juza’s from the Mantou Fist play.

Master Chef events are my favorites. This one has two characters I like. I'll have to do a pull to get both (´｡• ᵕ •｡`)

Wait, Idia and Miyamura share the same VA?! I knew he sounded familiar, but I didn't recognize it. I think the only one I was aware was Floyd and Sengoku.

Ooh, yeah, I saw them. I don't remember which of their roles I voted for, but I hope I can get Banri's in the BD free pull.

BANRI’S BIRTHDAY

SEPTEMBER 9, XX

*2 days before his birthday*

Mornings like this on any other day in the Mankai dorms, realizing it’s already Autumn as you looked at the date on your phone, sipping your sweet coffee. It’s 6am in the morning and you’re the only one who is awake. You know that Banri would come down in any minute, so you made his coffee the way he usually prefers it, on the bitter side.

You scan through the monthly magazine to look for inspiration on what’s trending this season. As you saw the animal print outfits that looked gorgeous on the models, you paused for a second and heard Banri greeting you a good morning and is about to snuggle you from behind, but you blocked it by raising the magazine up to his face, serving it as your shield as you look at him above you and that made him stop. That made him growl, but you completely ignored it and cut him off saying, “Take me to where you thrift later! I want to try this outfit! Also, I made you a coffee, drink it before it gets cold!” you pointed to what the model is wearing. He looked down at you and saw your sparkling big eyes then pondered, “Now that I think about it, I have never seen you wearing animal prints, but if you want to try...” he points at himself with his thumb. “heh, guess it’s my time to introduce you to animal prints!” he said as he smirked.

*At the thrift store* 

The bells chime as Banri opened the door of the thrift store he goes to and a middle-aged man greets, saying, “It’s been a while, kid.”

“Old man! Yeah, it’s been a while, I missed coming here... hm? where’s that guy?” he asked as he looks around the store. The old man chuckled and said “He ran an errand for me at the town, do you need something from him?” “Send my regards to him, old man!” they both laughed, you see them having a mini conversation, like a father-son would, it’s wholesome just looking at them. “This is (y/n), my girlfriend.” you bowed and smiled at the owner, as you greeted each other.

Banri leads the way to the women’s section. Together you look for animal print outfits that will suit you. You trust your boyfriend as he’s considered a “fashionista” of the Mankai Company. He picked several clothes, and you tried all of them, after trying them all out, you picked a few that you both liked.

You offered to be the one to pay for it, but Banri insisted that he will pay for it, he gave his card and told you he will go to the men’s section to look for some outfits. You nodded and went to the counter. The owner of the store is actually the cashier, as he’s the only one running the small local business. The owner looked at you and Banri from afar, then looks at the clothes you picked. He smiled and whispered to you, “Actually, we have a couple outfit for this, and the size just fits him perfectly, I picked this outfit for Banri since he loves wearing these kinds. Do you want to see it?” he asked as he smiled. You nodded and waited for him over the counter as he goes to the Men’s section. Good thing Banri’s on the accessories section, far from the said section. The owner came back and put the clothes in the paper bag and gave it to you. “I wish the best of you two happiness.” he said as he gave the paper bag to you. It was a close call as Banri called your name behind you, causing you to be surprised. Banri took the paper bag and holds your hand on the other like a couple, Banri waved goodbye to the owner and started walking, you turned your head to look at him and bid goodbye, he just winked while smiling and waves.

*Banri’s birthday*

Pondering if Omi would not really mind as a third wheel on your date today with Banri since you requested to do an outdoor photoshoot the whole day, he assured you it is fine and said that he would like to practice shoots again. While the rest of the guys in Mankai dorms prepare for his birthday. You mentioned to them that three of you will return at the peak of the dusk. As the surprise will start, the moment you three are home. You are wearing a black wool turtleneck sweater and a slim midi silhouette leopard print skirt that sits flatteringly and accentuates your natural waist, finishing with a pair of black ankle boots topped with a thin golden necklace, and a nude trench coat with the same length of your skirt.

Watching the autumn leaves fall from the tree while you wait for Banri at the inner courtyard. You hear a familiar voice calling out your name; you turned your back to see who it was, and it was Banri, wearing a Black Label Merino wool turtleneck sweater, wearing a necklace to contrast everything and black chinos slim-fit pants, finishing with a pair of black leather derby shoes and a leather leopard print turned-down collar casual jacket. Making the both of you as a couple *with taste* You stood up, astounded by Banri’s new look. Banri looked at you from head to toe and said, “You look decent as always.” you glared at him. “I’m joking! I said you look beautiful... as always.” he averted his eyes, looking away shyly. Hearing a rare compliment coming from him, you can’t help but smile. Naturally, you complimented his look today saying, “You look.. charming as always~” you turned your back at him and start to walk, Banri followed you and teases you, saying that he didn’t hear that quite right. You turned your back about to pinch one of his arms to make him stop, but he dodged.

*Sunset at the park*

“Happy Birthday, Banri! I’m sorry if it’s just a simple date, doing photoshoots while on our date.” you felt somehow down, confessing. Banri lifted your chin lightly and said, “There’s nothing to worry about, (y/n). I got to spend my birthday with you, that’s more than enough for me.” He leaned closer and kissed you. Your eyes were open the entire time until he let go and looked at you. He smirked and put his left arm over your waist, keeping you close to him, then you whispered, “You know, Omi’s still here. This is embarrassing.” Banri looked back and see Omi tripping the shutter of his camera.

“Don’t mind me, just taking photos here, continue you lovebirds.” then Omi chuckled for a bit and a sudden idea hit his head saying, “Why not the both of you try applying as couple models? You guys might even be featured at a monthly magazine!”

You and Banri looked at each other at the same time, then Banri spoke first, “If she wants to, I’m down anytime and anywhere.” he smiled and held your hand. “I think it also suits you to be a model.” you said, meaning it’s a yes coming from you. His eyes widened and became suddenly bashful in front of you. Averting his eyes away from you, Omi saw it and teases Banri as they walk going home to the Mankai dorms and you happily followed them.
