Technology itself will not fix our problems, or create a better world, but perhaps human imagination and hard work will in time make technology serve the good of the many many, instead of only profiting a few. If only we stop thinking we that substituting human agency and bias for digital determinism and bias. begin to make the digital realm more widely accessible, mundane and malleable/hackable rather than the current drive towards making technology seem awsome, revolutionary and spectacular. The World can Change

I'm a female Gen Z, (straight ? idefk,) only 13. I'm young, naive, and impressionable. But I can have an opinion. I've been around the Internet, and I've learned things from many different points of view. Feminism, racism/white supremacy, the patriarchy/male dominance, LGBTQ+ phobias, rape culture, mass poverty and hunger, mental illness, all that good stuff. I've learned that the world is a disgusting place, filled with vile people. Rapists, racists, misogynists, LGBTQ+ haters, and general douchebags make up a lot of us. I've heard stories about revolting against men's need to feel dominant. I've seen how people beat down women, LGBTQ+, people of all different races, making them feel inferior. I want to make a change. I want it to stop, all of it. But how can I make a change if I, a woman, can't get to a place that'll allow me to?  We humans have devalued lives for no reason since the invention of the fork. Hell, us patriotic Americans made a home out of someone elses', and then proceeded to be racist, vile asses to them, the real Americans. Humans as a species are going nowhere; with so, so many problems tearing us apart from the inside, what kind of progression are we supposed to make? I dream of rallying us together, of creating peace throughout the whole world; I dream of putting aside all our differences and be one, amazing, beautiful place. I want all of us to be strong. But no, I should just stay at home, have some kids, do the dishes. That's all I am, right? A woman? And I guess that lesbian over there should just go make a porno instead of contributing to society? And we shouldn't allow her to marry her partner, it's wrong. How about that black dude, make sure he doesn't steal your car instead of considering the fact that he's a fucking person. Oh, and that guy who violently raped a young girl, he should get off easy, she was asking for it. Make sure the dude that smoked a joint gets more prison time than him. This all totally makes sense, right?

The world can change. Let's make it.

Today for the first time in too many years, I feel as though I accomplished something. Most of my life has been marked by unfortunate circumstances. Raised in a toxic household, bullied in school, abandoned by my friends who preferred drugs and being out every night till 3-5am, the list goes on. The consequences of being treated like disposable garbage for so long warped me into the man I am today, warts and all. Wrestling has not been an easy journey. My confidence is still shot from years of neglect and abuse (both mental and physical). I'm still an amateur at the sport, but have become stronger for it. Since starting all this I have drawn lines in the sand against evil, alone. I have learned to tolerate my past trauma better to make it through each day. I have realized what company is worth keeping, and who not to associate with. I am less the naive fool, and more the cautious and weary moralist. Right and wrong matter more than ANYTHING to me. I'm not ready to coach in a sport I don't fully understand yet, but I do have the right ingredients to be a mentor. For no child should have to grow up, nor be raised like I was. I look forward to the day when that moral compass can impact a youths life to send them spiralling towards success.
