If you ever consider a job where you have to care for people, you are not allowed to be a bigot. I don’t give a shut if you’ve “always wanted to be a nurse”. Quit. Now. If you are in a position where people depend on you, you cannot be selfish.

Doctors, Nurses, Teachers. If you are a transphobe, racist, sexist, homophobic, antisemitic, ableist, eugenicist, fatphobic, misogynist, any of that shit. Quit right fucking now. You cannot be trusted to care for people unless you are able to put aside your biases and help people.

We’ve all heard stories of that shitty bully who became a nurse and acts like they never tormented the weird kid at school. The nurses who don’t like you because you’re not a typical case. The doctors who dismiss the person with a brain tumour because she happens to be fat.

If you are a Fucking bigot about anything you can get the fuck out of your job. If you won’t help everyone no matter who they are, you cannot do your Fucking job.

If you mess with somebody's mobility/life-preserving aid and all you got was yelled at by the disabled person in question, just know you got off easy. Fucking with somebody's aid can easily become a matter of life-or-death, so you have to understand why somebody would "lash out" about that.

We have already talked how Seward's perspective of Renfield is blurred thanks to his own biases, and his ableist ideas about him, and today we see another example of that unrealiable perspective.

Remember that "underveloped homicidal maniac" diagnosis? It seems that Seward hasn't let go of it since Renfield's anger was interpreted as killing intent. Which is, in a way, a great example of how ableism affects a vulnerable mentally ill person, and weaponizes their emotions against them in order to justify the treatment brought by the system.

Renfield escaped after Seward's attempt at making him escape was ignored, and he went to the deserted chapel (that Dracula is using) to possibly convince the Count to take him as a servant. Seward, not knowing that he "interrupted" this, thinks that Renfield's anger is actually him wanting to kill him, and not anger expressed at said interruption.

But Renfield's reaction was used as justification to restrain him, and even we have proof that if Seward, and his attendants have waited for a moment, Renfield would have gone without problems with them again.

Heheheheheho I have gotten some of the Dragon Age books (🏴‍☠️) and this is gonna really let me dig into some stuff, especially my favorite guy Cole, cause now I can read his OG appearance, I want to see how much stuff Cole says, especially during his quest actually makes sense, and how much is in-universe "both sides are right"ing about not listening to what Cole wants to do.

I am mainly talking about Spirit!Cole thanking Inky for not making him change... Despite the fact that thoughout Cole's quest Solas ignores what Cole wants (Like being binded) & wants to do (Kill the guy who beat beyond beating a 12 (at most) year old (most likely, it isn't outright stated (to my memory) the Templar who fucked up the paperwork was also one of the ones who physically abused him, but I feel it's a pretty safe assumption) & got that child killed due to neglect & faced no consequences) but ultimately the choice that causes Cole to thank the player for not changing him is the one where you listen to Solas over Cole (Or well Varric, who also doesn't let Cole do what he wants but is closer to what Cole would have done if he had went alone for the confrontation) & in this route I would say Cole's character changes a lot more, especially as he forgets the original Cole, which... Rubs me wrong, but I'll save my more detailed thoughts for 1. After I fully read Asunder & 2. Either a full Cole analysis or a detailed post about my thoughts on his quest & routes (& maybe how I'd rewrite them, as a Autistic person & a ally to the aroace community)

Anyways my point is that I want to see how true it is characters rejected or wanted to change Cole, I want to see what leads him to feel that having two men argue & tell him who he is supposed to be & do only to have a third person decide out of those two's options for what he should do is remotely a situation where he's been accepted.

Favorite part about Death Note is that Light gets the Note and IMMEDIATELY becomes a serial killer fascist with a god complex.

No build-up, no Fall From Grace, no slow corruption of a good boy gradually becoming a monster. Just-- SPEED RUN STRATS. And I love that for him.

Tbh, I think there are a lot of folks (especially boys) from my high school days who would have immediately become monsters if given the power of life and death over every person around them.

It's kind of like how when people have apparently casual ableist beliefs, and you push them to elaborate on that just a little bit, they'll often end up openly saying stuff like "well, some people are just too disabled to be worth the resources it takes to support them." - Which is... eugenics. It's just eugenics, justified by the myth of scarcity. Now these folks almost certainly won't call it eugenics, or even think of it that way. But that doesn't make it NOT a core belief of the Nazis.

In a similar way, Light seems like a nice and well-adjusted boy with strong beliefs. No harm in that.

But to paraphrase Lindsay Ellis in her analysis of the Game of Thrones ending, "Power doesn't necessarily corrupt. Power reveals." [I think she was quoting someone else when she said this. It was someone who wrote a biography on LBJ. Whatever. Lindsay said it and she's smart as hell and I recommend her videos.]

And 15 minutes into the Death Note musical, I'm already thinking about how so many beliefs "casually" held by well-adjusted, nice people immediately reveal their monstrousness when talked through to their natural conclusion.

And I wonder how many of those people, given the power of life and death over everyone around them - the power to take their ideas to their natural conclusions - would also immediately reveal how their lack of self-reflection has laid the groundwork for them to become monsters.

Where's that post that's like "doctors aren't like doctors on TV who will do anything to find a cure for their patients, they generally just do not care and will tell you you're faking it rather than help you" bc yes that but ALSO sometimes doctors THINK they're uwu heroic tv doctors when in reality they just assault their patients for no good reason to "help" them.

Like. I'm tired of hearing friends with chronic illness being held down to have blood taken against their will, or to receive an unnecessary shot of something to see "if it will help" when they literally have tried that before and no it doesn't help and the doctor doesn't believe them. The Exes of Jessica Drew: Jared

Jessica emerges from stasis into the arms of Hydra just before her seventeenth birthday. In addition to their usual brainwashing techniques, they use a unique one: employing a guy named Jared to entice her. He helps trick her into believing Hydra are the good guys, taking down the evils of the world.

One day, Jared is sent out to attack Nick Fury at a S.H.I.E.L.D base. Or rather, that's at least what Jessica was told. His true mission was to get captured by S.H.I.E.L.D, Hydra hoping she would stop at nothing to save her first love from the grasps of who she had been told was pure evil.

And they were right. She attacks the base, and has Nick Fury under her fists. Until. . .

Armed with the truth, Jessica flees, but not before taking down a Hydra ship outside in her rage. That's not the only thing left behind in her wake, though. . .

A couple of years later after Jessica freed herself from Hydra, Jared is able to track her down, and attacks her in a nightclub.

He's a real piece of work. You can guess the word I censored.

He puts the gun to her face, but she's able to overpower him long enough to run outside. However, Jess runs into dozens of Hydra goons, with the Taskmaster right at the centre.

The two fight, Jared eventually making his way out to the scene. Jessica is able to overpower her opponent, stabbing him through the abdomen with a sword. Telling the Taskmaster she's "dreamt of this", this is how the rest of her night plays out:
