Nah I’m not over the fact that Leo had apparently spent years with his bedroom being hit with the worst of Splinter’s horrendously loud snoring and Leo just never mentions it once.

Like clearly his family have no idea of this when he offers his room as a prize! So he never complained about it at least.

My haitani father Shio headcanon is just a bit too funny cuz of how well it works that it sounds like a waste of perfect canon idea and crossover for both of wakui's works.

Aside from the obvious physical features very very obvious, identical eyes, nose, blonde eyebrows, rindou's face form, ran's hair color palette and (arguably) bonten hair style, blah blah i mean just look a the pictures below, you can also bring up any fact from either manga and add it to the hc and it fits in just SO WELL, i'll give the first example, The Haitanis are very obviously rich spoiled kids like have you seen their apartment? They have a fucking dj set, only rich kids with neglective powerful parents will have no problem paying for that, just saying, and even though i love him let's be real Shio is the type to be that parent, i mean cmon he's rich like crazy rich (filthy yakuza money yum yum) he tots would give his children WAY more than enough allowance so they can leave him alone, also the way they act, i've always the Haitanis were the type of kids that think they own the school cuz their dad is rich .

Nvm if this never becomes canon or both universes don't collide, it's just so entertaining to keep connecting the dots that were likely never there, like how Rindou is a heavy drinker cuz his father drank alot with the rest of the Yotsurugis and he tried to imitate him from a young age that it became an unhealthy habit or if you want to add more drama he only drinks cuz he looks up to his father but Shio favors Ran cuz he can posssibly succeed him (canon power complex) so Rindou resorted to drinking cuz it's the only thing like his dad that he can do. Heck yeah i made it angsty!!!

You can also add great context to his fear of Yakuza, picture this, when he was a kid he got up in the middle of night after hearing a loud noise to search for his parents and witnessed Shio (canon Yakuza) pew pew-ing some poeple and surrounded with scary men, that probably scarred him for life that he was so terrified when Kakucho got them interfering with some, OH OH something just came to mind, if he's the son of a yakuza yeah he didn't wanna clash with other yakuza families cuz it can end in a blood shed and risk his and his family's lives.

And i'm gonna add this one not very small detail and i swear i'll shut up (for now), i know it's just a stupid headcanon that is very far from becoming reality and i don't have to take it this deep but hear me out, why their last name is Haitani and not Yotsurugi like their dad, Shio is powerful and have many enemies right ? So he simply decided to protect his children and their identity by giving them another last name likely their mother's (yk like minato with naruto style plan ?) So Haitani is actually their mom's family name. I rest my case. Thank you for coming to my useless ted talk.

Sidenote but that did make me realize how when we see the Impel Down prisoners in Level 4, Oda does semi-consistently draw everyone sweating their asses off, which makes sense, since they're in the Inferno Hell. It is focken hot in there.

But then there's Crocodile and dude never breaks a sweat

Like to be fair there are a few characters who don't seem to be bothered by the heat of Level 4 either (Iva-chan, Sadi-chan etc)

But when you considder the sheer amount of fucking layers this man is wearing, like. You know what. Crocodile being completely heat-resistant up to 1700 Celcius makes perfect sense to me, I'll add that to my worldview, it's canon to me now.

There is so much untapped potential in the idea of young Lark and Sparrow using the San Dimas Museum of Natural History as their personal playground. I'm picturing full cartoon-y hijinks, including but not limited to:

They dress up in historic costumes and pretend to be part of an exhibit, jump-scaring visitors for laughs

Trying to scare the living shit out of henry by crawling in the skin of a stuffed tiger and pretending its alive

Them sneaking into the museum after closing hours and playing superspy with the laser sensors. They of course set them off, triggering the museum's security system, and quickly scramble out of there before the police arrives

They accidentally break some statue and spend all day trying to glue it back together

Taking the intercom hostage and saying the most batshit insane stuff while Henry desperately begging them to open the door

Osferth and Alfred have exactly one interaction in the entire show, one half-second glance and it's as devastating as a whole conversation

season 2 is gonna be like all ab backstories and like… ik vivs fav backstory is just “daddy issues” so istg if theres another gd character w a daddy issues orgin story imma flip out 😭 like its fine to have that for a character but omg its just bad repetitive writing at this point. (we alrdy have moxie, blitzo, stolas, octavia, charlie, and luna) and probably more i missed.

I believe Alastor does canonically have daddy issues so… we’re shit out of luck unless they changed that. Or if by backstory, they just mean Alastor’s life before he vanished for 7 years.

It’s funny you mention daddy issues because you’re totally right that that’s the tried and true method of getting us to care about characters in these shows, at least as far as the writers are concerned. I’ve debated on making a post criticizing that because I’m just gonna raise my hand and say that exploring Daddy Issues ™ is one of my absolute favorite things in media and fandom, but I have definitely gotten sick of it from Viv’s stuff.

Even I have my limits regarding the complexities of parent-child relationships apparently. Who knew?
