The funniest kind of critical role "critique" is always going to be the 'they present themselves as if they aren’t rich/a company no I will not give any examples' crowd. Like what does this even mean. They start literally every single episode with informing you they are professional voice actors. They have clearly advertised sponsors. They have an entire line of merch and an animated show. The production value of the set is bonkers. They run a charity foundation. Do you want them to start every episode with a blaring siren and a warning saying 'beware! company run content! we make money!!' Are you just angry that they are friends having fun as they make a living. Do you have any understanding of how money works.

it sucks because I’d love to get into games that predate ace attorney and lay the groundwork for it genre-wise but almost all games that fall into that category never got official localisations because it was assumed at that point there wasn’t a market for these types of games outside of japan. hell ace attorney itself didn’t get localised at first. it’s frustrating

i went into a chase bank today to see if i could close my account because i am tired of getting charged $12/month for being broke and unemployed and while the banker was trying to convince me not to do this she was like "i just love us so i don't like seeing people leave us" and like first of all maybe try cutting out the bullshit fees then and also refunding me but second whoooooo shills for jp morgan chase like that. "i just love us" ??????????? girl i know they are not paying you enough to act like that. she also tried to get me to get a credit card but i declined. and then immediately walked across the street to a local bank to ask them about getting a credit card.

back on my taiwanese road font nonsense, i finally downloaded the Alleged Font (金梅粗黑體.TTF) and

discovered that the file metadata firstly claims it was last modified in 1995, which is older than i expected, but then

i opened it up in my font editor and discovered it does not use unicode to encode its glyphs (modern web standard to my knowledge), but instead the hong kong extension of big5 (old method of encoding cn/jp that allowed for quick switching btwn the different writing variants), thereby meaning that the glyphs are SORTED DIFFERENTLY than how i'm used to (dictionary order)

when checking the font information in the font editor, it apparently has no font name saved in its metadata

and also it was also created at the dawn of time i guess
