I'm in the process of redrawing an older D20 piece but it's taking so long so I thought I'd post the sketch
these twins devastate me to this day

good morning to fathers who shouldn't be fathers, girls sexting with ugly men, the most boring gay man alive, your uncle who's a power bottom, people with pink hair going through unimaginable grief, autistics who cry when they get to talk about their special interests, eldest daughters forgotten by their family, and the friend invited on the family vacation who's really regretting coming with by now

the acoc candy couture vol 2 zine is literally the most stunning thing i've ever seen (CHECK IT OUT AND ALL THE OTHER ZINES FROM THE D20 ZINE JAM) and i drew the rocks sisters like i was fucking possessed or smth
i did a bunch of research to make smth sort of historically accurate for my primsy design last year. this year i wanted to just go off and go for pure vibes only. also i actually saved my process!
i knew roughly 2 things i wanted for this piece: outrageous medieval-esque fashions (historical accuracy not required) and also twists for their licorice hair. i put together a pureref, found a pose reference, and played with several different color palettes really terribly until i found one i liked! the details made me wanna die but the end result was sooooo worth it

i was trying to figure out why the imagery of kristen leaning out the window holding onto gorgugs foot on top of the van was making me feel such a way but. ruby doing acrobatics on top of the carriage on sucrosi road. i forgot that when she went down in the first battle the only reason she didn’t fall off completely was because jet was holding onto her

I think about Siobhan as Ruby Rocks after Jet’s murder, crying and shouting, “BRING HER BACK!” to the Sugar Plum Fairy a lot. “What is the point of having magic if I can’t… BRING HER BACK!” Then the quiet broken “…please.”
If you lost the person you loved most in the whole world wouldn’t you beg and bargain with a supernatural being in order to bring her back? And how would it feel to know that a being as ancient, hallowed and powerful as the Sugar Plum Fairy couldn’t rectify such an injustice?
Death isn’t just permanent. No. A deity far greater than any, a being called the Game Master, put this path before you and your sister knowing there was every chance someone would die. This supreme deity, a god higher than the Sugar Plum Fairy, the Hungry One and even the Bulb above planned how he would kill your sister, made the enemies that killed her, invented the dagger that scored the killing blow, and if he could’ve, he would’ve taken you as well.
He wove the thread of fate into a tapestry of danger, death and despair and he sewed it into your life and the lives of your family. Call him Destiny. For he arranged the world and its circumstances to take your aunts, attempted to kill your father and stole your sister. BRING HER BACK! No. The Sugar Plum Fairy can’t. No one could. Not because death is a terror too severe to survive but because your god is a greater horror than you could possibly fathom.
