It’s funny to me that a certain portion of tumblr hates tiktok. For good reason, I acknowledge, but the way some people hate it would make you think it has no redeemable qualities.

Tiktok is the reason why so many Gen Z are tuned into what’s going on in Palestine, full stop. Facebook is shit, IG has never been good for activism, Twitter is full of gaslighting bots and cocksucking blue checks thanks to Musk, youtube is severely censored, who honestly depends on Reddit for news, and tumblr is frankly a place that isn’t really seeing a flood of new users.

Fact of the matter is that Tiktok is the new ideas network for better and for worse. It has huge problems but the amount of unedited, unfiltered, uncensored footage we’re getting on Tiktok from the Palestinian POV is literally revolutionizing how we as civilians are experiencing war. We are getting 1st POVs of children and parents of people digging through rubble, of children being operated on without anesthesia, of doctors on their forty eighth hour without sleep trying to save as many people as they can. And what’s more important is that these videos are being reposted and shared and engaged with like wildfire. Not to mention that with tiktok people are essentially able to transcribe what would be a 10 page tumblr discourse essay into a 5-6 minute video, as well as shitpost on Zionists with just as much effectiveness as a tumblr post.

Of course we need to also read actual literature, but that is obvious. What tiktok did to help boost BLM it’s helping to boost #FreePalestine.

some tips for writing blogs, especially those who are just starting out. these are some things that works for me and may or may not work for others.

how to add a read more link on mobile

type :readmore: on a free space, then hit the enter or return button

personally i think they’re very helpful because it lessens the space you take up in your dash, and might encourage more people to rb

+ you can also add this on a spot where it gives a sort of cliffhanger, essentially making people want to ‘read more’

headers, banners, and dividers

though not necessary, it’s good to have a title for your work. make sure it’s bold and doesn’t blend in with your notes (aka pairing, warnings, etc.). this also helps when someone wants to look up one of your works in your search bar

i don’t really make banners or covers for my works. but some good apps that i know of would be picsart and canva. if you’re looking for ideas, i definitely recommend going into canva

wondering how to make those really small, thin dividers? you can make them using picsart! to make a divider hit tools > free crop > brush > size (adjust it to your preference > then draw a line along the edge of your photo > save

using the divider you just saved, go back to picsart and edit it again > draw option > hit rainbow square at the bottom left corner > hit suction/droplet symbol right below the check mark > color in the white spots bc for some reason picsart glitches and makes dividers look white-ish

new blog? just opened an account?

this is gonna sound really frustrating. but... tumblr needs to check if you’re a bot or not. what does this mean? it’s likely that your first few posts won’t show up on the search bar. you may not even get to edit your header/pfp yet ://

this happened to me and there was no visibility on my account at ALL. what helped me get ‘verified’ is that i followed a LOT of accounts, liked a bunch of posts, made some posts here and there. now that lets tumblr know you’re not a bot

the tumblr tagging system usually only allows the first 5 tags in your post to show up. so, what can do you about this? only use FIVE or less tags in your post. wait about 15 minutes or more until you can add some more tags in your post, and they usually all show up like that

another important thing about using tags is not to generalize! especially if you’re using a popular tag. but also don’t specify it too much where barely anyone looks it up. for example, if you’re writing a gn piece about oikawa, i recommend you use the tags such as: oikawa x reader, haikyuu x reader, oikawa x gn!reader, haikyuu headcanons, etc

a good rule of thumb is to use character x reader tags first, then leave the full name or fandom tag last

FOR NSFW: tumblr doesn’t let any tags with nsfw show up. so, give your nsfw works another tag. maybe #namegetspicy idk, you figure it out

FOR WARNINGS: especially if you’re a dark content creator, i highly encourage you to add tw:xyz tags. if you already have a warning note at the top then that’s great. but even better for readers who prefer to actually block these tags that way they never get to see it

another important thing to note is that people have different timezones. it helps if you rb your work at a different time of the day, in case people missed it! (icymi) i’ve noticed that reblogging helps to make your post show up in the tags

interaction + feedback

first and foremost, you are not obligated to write for your followers, and neither are your followers obligated to interact with you. remember that everyone has their own individual lives, and they have their own things to do— so do you, too.

make friends! become mutuals with other writers, visit their ask box. i know it can be daunting having to initiate these things, but you might just turn out to have fun! you can’t expect people to interact with you if you’re not interacting (back). it’s... kind of a two way thing yk? no need to be afraid to interact with other writers. oh, and rb other writers works!

pspsps join tag games or do ask games. it’s fun and very interactive

it never hurts to ask for feedback. i usually do this in a more subtle way because i don’t really expect a full on analysis on my works. maybe a little, is this okay? or feedback appreciated. sometimes it takes a little bit of coaxing for the silent readers

formatting your posts and blog

i generally put in the title at the top in big, bold letters

then comes the header/divider. helps to make the post more... visually appealing ig?

it’s important to add warnings (if any) and the pairing. the audience is not all female, and it might be a little frustrating for male readers having to find out its an x fem reader piece like halfway through your fic

if you have multiple works posted, it’s really really helpful to have a navigation page!

you can organize the posts you make with tags! for example, if you’re shitposting, you can use a specific tag for that. if you have a nsfw related post (ESPECIALLY when your blog is open to the general audience) please make a tag for it

themes + colors

if you have a color in mind but don’t know which direction to go from there, i recommend looking up color + aesthetic

looking to use the same color? download a name color app that’ll give you a hex code for any color you want to use. then, you can type in that hex code for when you’re choosing a color for your tumblr bio

wondering how to make your header image small like mine? just choose a photo for your header and turn off the stretch image option

want to use a different text color that tumblr doesn’t offer? it’s not as complicated as you think. you’ll have to go on a desktop to do this and do some html (but trust me, it’s not very difficult). look up “HTML noob but trying my best - how to use colored text on desktop”

how to make an aesthetic navi and masterlist

step 1: decide a theme! if you’re stuck, think about a character + color/season/mood or look up “[insert] aesthetic” to find some inspiration. or you can try looking at other blogs too

step 2: find a color scheme! it’s easier if you choose fewer colors. if you want to use the same color for both divider and text, download a color name app in order to get the hex code of that color.

step 3: add categories to your navi! most navigation pages include a link to masterlist, about/byi, and rules. your navi should have a title that indicates that it’s... a navigation page. you can add thin colored dividers with the same color to make it easier for followers to navigate

step 4: you can choose to create a ‘cover’ or a picture for your navigation and masterlist! again, i recommend you use the canva app as a starting point

extra: search up emoticon symbols to spice up your titles!

I actually really like some of this, but it was just a kneejerk reaction to redoing the lvl 50-60 rdm quests with Adrienne, so there's a lot of canon rehashing but it also repeatedly and directly references "but don't be happier" so it doesn't quite stand on its own. I posted this snip before but I really like it lol, set after the lvl 60 quest:

The corner of his lip curls into a smile, and he affords her a sidelong glance through heavy-lidded eyes. Truthfully, it’s a very becoming expression, and Adrienne cannot help the way her heart flutters in response.

“I never knew you were a proper conjurer,” he says.

Adrienne lets out a little huff of nervous laughter. “Proper is a stretch,” she deflects. “But I’ve always been good with magic.”

“I believe that,” says X’rhun warmly.

Reasonably satisfied that Lambard’s strange magic will not reappear, Adrienne places her hand over X’rhun’s wound and casts a proper healing spell. She didn’t need to get this close, perhaps, and it is a monumental struggle not to think overmuch about the way she can feel his breath catch just shy of her ear.

“It seems I’ve repaid my debt to you at last,” she says, poorly feigning lightness.

“On the contrary,” says X’rhun, with equal hesitancy, “as there was never any debt to speak of, I’d say it is now very much mine.”

Adrienne’s hand lingers long after the spell is cast, but she cannot quite bring herself to meet his gaze. “And however might you repay me?” she dares, feels the tremor in her voice. Why is she doing this? “The dashing rescuer in this case would gladly accept a kiss.”

She feels the rapid intake of his breath against her ear and beneath her hand. He almost chuckles. “When the rescued party is already thusly compromised? Surely an honourable lass would not take advantage.”

Adrienne bites the inside of her cheek, a vain attempt to hide her smile as she hazards a glance upward. “Do you take me for a villain, X’rhun Tia?” she teases.

He inclines his head thoughtfully, and that strange, sad look settles about him again. She’d like to reach out, to hold his face between her hands and soothe the lines of worry from his brow, but she cannot convince herself to move.

“An unwitting thief, perhaps,” X’rhun says at last.

“A thief?” Adrienne echoes curiously, uncertain whether he means to tease. “Whatever have I stolen from you?”

She slides her hand up his bare torso, and he brings his hand to cover hers, just over his heart.

9. rdm quest notes

there are 3500 words in this document. in fairness some of it is just written out quotes from rdm quests that I wanted to remember for characterization purposes. Sometimes I write out slightly longer dms in word docs and then paste them into discord bc anxiety so there's some of that in here. There's just like ---- like a full journal post about something that upset me irl around this time LOL. Some of it is just like shitposts made to myself ig? eg. "can’t believe Adrienne mained red mage for awhile bc she was hot for the teacher" and that's just in a little section by itself.

About 3 different starts to part 2 of "but don't be happier", about 3 different takes on another stupid scene I will never write where both Alisaie and G'raha find out Adri banged X'rhun and are like why did you never mention this????? A few short bits about how I feel their relationship ends which I'll be unlikely to write at least for a long while bc it makes me too sad LOL.

and had a stsg brainrot. geto had a good grasp of how to work the world around him even when he was a "good" student,, the fact that he didn't indulge the full extent of his technique's capabilities to the college while not coming from a background that would give him good reason to doubt them...orz

arguably, geto shld have been way more out of his depth as someone with literally no connection to the jujutsu world besides his own technique, but he was more in tune with it and the bureaucracy and the politics than gojo, who was the heir of his own major clan

ig it was privilege that allowed gojo to act that way, and the knowledge that it would take some generations before someone like him would be born again. the lack of that same privilege was part of what exposed suguru to all the worldviews he had...

it always tickles me how the boy who wanted to work towards "the greater good" became the "bad guy" and the boy who wanted the world to be according to his own ideals became the "good guy",,, both are inherently selfish. it's just that one is more obviously self-serving than the other

Tatsumaki: Has a public twitter and a secret pinterest. Her twitter is mostly the occasional selfie or update on monsters she’s fighting. She will occasionally talk shit about the Hero Association on her public twitter. She has 14.7M followers. They love the drama. Her pinterest is a lot of aesthetic pictures, quotes and romantic movie scenes.

Fubuki: Has an instagram that is immaculately curated. It’s very clean looking. She posts thirst traps to her stories, and people lose their minds. She just cracked 1M followers.

Bang: Surprisingly adept at Youtube. Uploads weekly guided meditation videos, and has a few basic self-defense videos. He’s got 800k subscribers, and a pretty active online fanbase. The go grandpa jokes are rampant.

Bomb: One of his disciples got him a snapchat, and now he snapchats nonstop. He also has an instagram, but he has it on private, and treats it like a normal person’s instagram. Puri Puri Prisoner: Has a tumblr. He got really popular on tumblr, but then someone made a calloutpost about him and exposed him as PPP, and he lost a ton of followers. He’s still got 21k followers though.

Garou: Is on his 7th twitter account bc he keeps getting suspended. Uses his twitter to harass the heroes. Also tweets out his hot take on things like controversial food combinations to stir the pot. Virgil, in his defense, was really stressed out.

It had been a long, long day - a long day full of errands and the obligatory human interaction that came along with errands - and he’d been on edge since noon at least from all the travel, not to mention exhausted after yet another night of no sleep, and he couldn’t seem to shake a dull headache all day. He just wanted to drag himself into a corner and curl into a ball until everything faded away for a while. Needless to say, he wasn’t exactly a beacon of patience at the moment. 

“That’s ridiculous, Logan!” 

“I assure you, Roman, the only ridiculous aspect of this discussion is your attitude, but if you’re so irate about my suggestion, then I’m sure you have a far better one to offer?”

“I think we need to calm down a little, kiddos-” 

Thomas gave a discomfited groan, squeezing his eyes shut while Logan and Roman continued arguing over Patton’s futile attempts at mediation. Virgil just kept his mouth shut, chewing on his bottom lip and tugging at the zipper on his sleeve enough that he wouldn’t be surprised if it wore out completely by the time he sank out; this was a stupid argument, pointless and frustrating and way too loud to just be about a video idea, and he was tempted to just sink out right then and there and let the others hash it out by themselves - but Thomas was anxious, so he was very, very (reluctantly) present. 

“What do you think, Virgil?” Roman asked suddenly. Virgil looked up to find his and Logan’s eyes on him, clearly expecting him to pick a side. Hell no.

“I think you should leave me out of it,” he growled, “or you guys could stop acting like children and just compromise for once.”

Roman’s nose scrunched up at that. “Well excuse me, Ruby Gloom, but my idea is perfectly fine on its own, if only Logan,” he sent the logical side a pointed glare, which was quickly returned, “would actually let Thomas have a little fun once in a while!” 

“Your ‘idea’ is hardly developed in any sort of executable fashion,” Logan countered. Virgil huffed a hair away from his face, hunching farther down on his step and curling his fingernails into his palms. “Not to mention-”

“I don’t need another lecture! I know what Thomas’ content should look like, thank you very much; need I remind you which one of us is his creativity, a-k-a the very basis of his life’s work? No? It’s me, I’m talking about me-”

“Aren’t you always,” Logan muttered.

“-and I think my ideas should be heralded with just a little more support, because I hate to burst your all’s bubbles, but I actually have pretty good ones! Just because you don’t like every single concept I come up with doesn’t mean I never have anything to bring to the table!” 

 Why did they have to be so loud? They weren’t even ten feet away from each other-

“Your ideas have been impractical,” Logan said, “not to mention half-witted, on more occasion than one.”

“Half-witted?!” 

“It means foolish or idiotic-”

“I know what it means.”

Virgil gritted his teeth. This had gone on too long; Thomas and Patton knew it, too, and his fuse was burning short while they stood silently. 

“I can’t- I don’t need you to like all my ideas,” Roman cried, “but you don’t even give them a chance! You’re always so stuck-up with your holier-than-thou attitude, you can’t even imagine that someone knows better than you-”

“Remus, just shut up!”

The yelling stopped. 

Virgil expected it to - he never yelled back, just snapped a little louder than usual or, if worst came to worst, Tempest Tongue made an appearance - but the dead silence that fell over the five of them just screamed something bad. He looked up from where he was staring at a hole in his jeans and found everyone staring at him; Patton and Thomas’ eyes were wide, Logan’s eyebrows furrowed, but Roman-

Roman blinked at him with owlish eyes, mouth open as if he was on the verge of retorting but stopped short, and his complexion was ashen, a ghost of Thomas’ usual soft tan - but it was the inexplicable smattering of hurt across his face that made Virgil truly pause. 

He’d told Roman to shut up plenty of times. Like, a lot. And a few of those instances had been fueled by the exact same amount of annoyance, and he knew Roman didn’t care too much about volume, so why...? 

“Oh,” he realized a moment later. “Oh, my God.”

‘Remus, shut up!’ 

Remus- 

“Roman,” he breathed, “I didn’t- I meant Roman, I didn’t mean to say that, I didn’t mean-”

“Kiddo,” Patton said quietly, reaching a hand toward the prince, who flinched away, and Virgil felt something in his chest constrict. 

“It’s okay,” Roman said. His voice wobbled at the end, but he just cleared his throat as his gaze flickered to Logan’s weary expression, then Thomas’ clear discomfort. “It’s okay,” he repeated in a whisper, “I understand. I’ll just- please excuse me.”

And he sank out. 

“Shit-” Virgil gripped the edges of his sleeves in his palms, glancing wildly between the three faces before him. “I didn’t mean it,” he insisted. “It was an accident, I really didn’t mean to-”

“It’s alright, Virgil,” Logan sighed. He shared a look with Patton, something unreadable passing through their met gaze - Virgil couldn’t help but feel it was about him. Couldn’t help but feel he deserved whatever silent criticism they were sharing. 

“I have to go find him,” he said thickly, but Patton held a hand out to stop him. 

“Give him a little time alone, kiddo.”

Virgil wanted to protest, to sink out right then and comb through the Mindscape until he found Roman and apologize til his throat was raw, because he knew how badly a stupid slip-up like that hurt the prince... but he also knew Patton knew best about emotions and cooldowns and apologies. So he swallowed, swallowed again when his throat just felt tighter, and sank back down on the steps, curling inward like his hoodie would swallow him and his shame if he tried hard enough.

Time to talk about my year and some people I’ve met / Been around a lot in 2018.

Alright, So I started 2018 off in the South park fandom, as I did in 2017 as well. It was fine until Drama started rolling in and I started openly talking about my problems. I got ignored a lot and Had to have some of my actual BFF’s calm me down at times. It had been a shitty few months in this year, Most of the people I use to talk to stopped talking to me, Blocked me or have deactivated and lost contact with. But There’s good some good memories in there, I met a few people I called my family and I love them dearly, I met my lovely girlfriend...and Ex girlfriend this year as well. 

School sucked, I moved a lot and well I still don’t have any real life friends besides my cousin and best friend who I rarely see because She’s gone off to CEGEP / University ATM. I got bullied again and got called names a lot, I’ve gotten comments about my looks and my problems and How I always looked so depressed and down all the time. I guess that was because I was having a shitty time...I mean, I had been moving around a lot, I moved schools 4-5 times in the past 2 years and honestly I was just getting tired of being stabbed in the back by people. So This was the year I started cutting myself, Crying myself to sleep, being more quiet about being sad and triggers started affecting me even more then they use to. My family was being a bitch, My mother was making me her slave while she was on crutches, my dad and I fought, I wanted to move in with my grandmother, I wanted to run away a few times as well. 

Good things that came out of this year actually was I started learning a lot about myself, Like Gender issues and Sexuality. I learned that I really liked girls A LOT. I figured out my art style and kept developing on it. I joined a fandom I was accepted in, Made some really great and beautiful people and Got myself a lovely girlfriend that I love so much. I moved back to my old down as well. I’m going to be graduating this year as well...So yeah.

and she picked chicago bc....... tbh she only really picked chicago on a whim, and her weird love for that one episode of victorious with trina doing her one woman show might’ve played the smallest role in it all KDSGJKDSGF

so she’s been here for a couple of years now and had started her studies again a couple of months back at a uni near her little apartment ( haven’t checked out possible places to add to her stats just to have a uni Set, so i’ll do that later gdklsdg )

so she needs action or something of interest in her life to keep her Up, but the feeling can fade quickly

like i said, she left her province — and country — to experience more, both in her abilities and in general; and while the latter is a little defunct given her time here already, whatever else comes with it tends to keep her from wanting to run off to the next enthralling adventure as soon as she possibly can

she also can’t sit still for v long if we wanna keep this short and show less Grand ideas sgdklfg

given her partially goofy ass, it’s hard to fathom her as being a blunt, serious or even snide person, but she can be given the situation or..... perhaps it’s just how she is in the moment sdjgsfdg

zoe does, however, show her blunt side in a more quick-witted, casual way than serious so it’s unlikely that you’ll see her act up, and uncommon but definitely not rare to see her be mature and handle shit accordingly

she’s a solid, loyal person, but she’s also quite observant and wise — well, wise when she wants to be anyways

and she’s definitely NOT a mary sue, but she is, as i said in her app, versatile

she’s adaptive in certain settings and situations, she doesn’t limit herself in what she can and can’t do and is a semi-functional multitasker DGKHJDF

the second thing prob has something to do with her ( over ) confidence but anyways
