I think I’ve realised something

But spn fam I’m calling on you; you know how Adam’s still in the cage and everything, I don’t think he is, this might be obviously wrong but I haven’t heard anyone talk about it so here goes:

In the episode we first meet Adam we don’t really meet Adam we meet a shapeshifter or a possessed Adam because at the end I swear they find Adams body (again correct me if I’m wrong)

Wouldn’t this therefore mean that Adams soul is already in heaven as he was dead and Micheal was just using Adams dead body as his new outfit?

what made you ship it?

i completely forget how i stumbled across this community in the first place because it’s been a literal decade, but i found and joined the adamwinchester community on livejournal (inb4 anyone says it YES i KNOW that’s not his name, i didn’t name the damn thing, don’t @ me!!!!). i think i was just trying to find any single scrap of adam fanwork (his tumblr tag was very very barren back then) and i literally just clicked on a midam fic out of sheer curiosity. and then it was all downhill from there. 

what are your favorite things about the ship?

the potential. the potential. especially because that’s really all fans had to go on after ‘swan song.’ we had jack shit in terms of canon, so it really did all come down to the limitless potential for the two of them. being able to explore their relationship in fic, meta, shitposts, etc. without having to pay very much attention to canon—because, again, there was none—was such a freeing thing.

also just......all the dumb little things that have to be a coincidence (because i refuse to give the writers this much credit), but all point to them being destined, in a way. adam’s birthday being on st. michael’s day. adam’s name as the first man and michael as the first archangel. adam’s name meaning ‘earth’ and michael being a creature of the sky and the heavens. like are you kidding me?? what am i supposed to do with any of this except scream into a pillow about it?

is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

hmmm, good question! i don’t think this is actually “unpopular”—in fact i’d be curious what the actual split between fans is like—but i have a preference for two-body midam. and it has nothing to do with the logistics of sharing a body or anything regarding canon, it’s literally just as simple as: i spent so many years shipping them in two separate bodies pre-15x08 (because again, canon didn’t say otherwise at the time) and it’s VERY hard for me to rewire my preference to fit this new info. i think with time i’ll get used to it, but right now yeah, i definitely lean hard toward separate bodies. i have the mind of a 94-year-old and i cannot take in new information or else my brain will melt.
