its infuriating to me when a bway show wins best musical or play or something and the cast is predominantly poc but the backers and producers and behind the scenes people are all white like something doesnt feel right there and yes anyway im listening to both htowns again and thinking about anti capitalism but the way we can barely work around the issue of class disparity/inequality in the workplace and certain spaces yet still have shows exist like this that have to be supported by white producers in order to succeed in the bway sphere /i dont think these issues and questions will be solved in my life time but it makes me anxious to think about them and how difficult to get into these spaces are

It was just another day in the bustling city, and yn and Beomgyu found solace in the routine of their shared walks. The cold air nipped at their noses, but the warmth of their clasped hands kept the winter chill at bay. As they strolled through the usually crowded streets, the city seemed to fade into the background, leaving just the two of them in their own little world.

Meetnyc²ouples: excuse me!..hello? [admin asks noticing a pair’s linked hands] are you two a couple?

Beomgyu: yeah? What [he asks skeptical, his hand never leaving yn’s]

Meetnyc²ouples: are you two a couple?

Beomgyu: yeah why? [he says getting a bit defensive]

Meetnyc²ouples: oh, would you mind telling the quick story of how you two met?

Beomgyu: oh wow! Of course! [he chimed suddenly all sunshine and rainbows then looked back at his partner silently seeking their approval]

Beomgyu: you go for it!

Yn: uh,, we met on a blind date actually, my friend and his friend decided to pit us together and it started from there, The first date was a disaster by the way, he planned to meet at a cheesecake factory?! I mean who does that- like what if I was lactose intolerant? [they comment jokingly]

Beomgyu: hey! I thought it was a very cute little date [Beomgyu pouts trying to pull his hand away]

Meetnyc²ouples: if your first date went a little off track, how’d you two end up together?

Beomgyu: oh yeah, we didn’t talk to each ither for a month after and by that time, our friends gave up on us but ,, it was my final year maybe? [he asks unsure, seeking help from his over]

Yn: yeah, he was in his final year and I was in junior maybe,, he needed a photographer for his thesis project and bugged me for two (2) weeks straight until I gave in, then using his thesis as an excuse, we started to hang out very often.

Beomgyu: also, we didn’t start dating until like what? I graduated? Yeah, and then I was the one who ultimately asked the big question. [he said accusing yn]

Yn: I was going to ask him but he beat me to it, I’ll make sure I’ll be the one to propose first (propose as in engagement in case it is difficult to understand!!) [yn muttered as Beomgyu got shy, crimson enveloping his cheeks and ears]

Yn: awh,, is my baby all shy? [yn coo-ed at their boyfriend who immediately hid away in yn’s embrace]

Meetnyc2ouples: how long have you two been dating?

Yn: eleven and..? [yn trailed off not sure, seeking help from beomgyu]

Beomgyu: and a half [he completes,, way more composed than before]

Yn: right! Eleven and a half, going strong!

Meetnyc²ouples: can I ask what is your favorite thing about each other?

Beomgyu: this is gonna sound real cliché but I think they just get me way better than anyone else I’ve ever met. I mean they truly feel like my soulmate, my best friend, life partner I mean- yeah,, I don’t know how I lived all these years without them honestly [beomgyu’s gaze is overflowing with love as he answers never looking away from yn, while yn looks away from him ears burning]

Yn: my favorite thing about Beomgyu would be his silly little text messages that I used to- and still receive, I think that laid the foundation for our relationship,, although I cant leave out the cheesy pickup lines he still uses.

Meetnyc²ouples: adorable,, what’s your favorite thing to do together?

Yn: probably exactly what you just saw us doing, since we both work and have tight schedules, we try to find time for each other and that, more often than not results in just us walking around the city, exploring new spots, new people,, uh, yeah, I just love the quality time.

Meetnyc²ouples: oh, and before we leave, what are your names?

Beomgyu: they're yn and im Beomgyu

unfortunately that’s not actually what the labour union said. their discussion of harassment was centred around the incitement of mass harassment as a result of numerous creators actively engaging in negativity towards the situation with the admins ie (comments about doing it just to take down quackitys career or ruining all the fun) which will lead to many other being influenced in that direction and will take to social media to say so . they did not directly accuse quackity of harassment but instead asked the creators to acknowledge how their handling of the situation can affect harassment towards the admins. as a qsmp fan i think your bias on the situation is heavily impacting your ability to actually analyse the situation critically and while i want things to be good again spreading misinfo won’t help

What other content creators though? The only one I know has spoken about it has been Pierre, who spoke about his experiences and about how people need to be careful and why it’s such a danger to people. Who else is speaking about the situation in such a way that it’s causing and/or encouraging harassment? Are you referring to creators who have, in the past, showed support to Quackity and the restructuring or by just playing on the server? Is their silence being somehow taken as encouragement?

Are there creators OUTSIDE of the QSMP that are doing this?

They may not have directly accused Quackity, but they do make it clear that him speaking out about the situation and the danger he is now in is the causation for the harassment. They directly link his most recent announcement to the rise in harassment of the admins. That reads to me, as somebody that can think critically, placing the blame on his shoulders even if they won’t say it

I’m not against them saying people need to be careful how they engage with the topic, that’s a fair statement and one I can agree with, because the internet does have a way of jumping first and asking questions later. I also don’t disagree with them asking creators to discourage the harassment, even if I’m skeptical how much good that would do even if it had been said from the beginning. That, however, is not the only thing they said in the statement

ok i do need to ask, do we like KNOW know that some egg admins have been playing as other silly npcs during this downtime or are we speculating. like i've seen people identifying admins with varying strength of basis since the eggs first existed but like. for a while there anytime an npc spoke portuguese everyone thought it was richas and then occasionally it would be agent 18 lmao so. . . are we doing that now or do we like Know lmfao

oh and to be clear i do mean varying strength; people were apparently spotting a leo admin's speech patterns earlier and since leo has such a distinct pattern (tho i'm not fluent in spanish LMAO) i'm inclined to believe that. but yea for a while people seemed to think portuguese=richas and to be fair there weren't many non-english npcs for a WHILE and really no portuguese besides richas (that we knew of) but it does mean i'm a bit more skeptical now when the audience starts trying to clock npc admins lmfao

thank you for being a skeptical voice in the admin situation ♥️ i feel like some people are so used to dealing with situations that are more about individual ccs doing something wrong, and they dont realize that the current situation is nothing like that. "be patient" and "its not your business" is great for when a content creator turns out to be awful and everyone has to deal with all the complexities with that. its NOT great for labor issues. acting like workplace issues arent our problem because we personally dont work there is how workplace abuse continues. its important to maintain pressure on companies to treat their workers correctly. its stressful for the company and thats the point. companies arent people, and this isnt about quackity. i wish the best for the qsmp project but workers rights are the priority. thank you for your posts! its reassuring to me that theres still people who care deeply about the situation

yes !! I think people tend to forget that being critical of what is happening is coming from a place of love for all the work the admins put in and also for the project in general !

And we were patient, we had trust that everything was handled well behind the scenes ever since the server launched until very recently, look at where that got us ?

If viewers, admins and ccs didn’t care everyone would just be like « oh well bye qsmp » but no people are pointing things that are wrong and coming up with ideas to make sure everything turns out to end in the best situation ?? Admins and ex admins shouldn’t be the ones putting together masterdoc explaining the issues for the higher ups to read and yet they still do !

I 100% believe Bruce wouldn’t be able to stop himself from adopting Danny, he fits the profile for B’s kids so well, dark hair, blue eyes, sad, died before.

managadex admin people in the forums seem to be skeptical of mangadex actually being taken down but that was only one admin saying things so things are definitely still uncertain,,

man theres a takedown scare like this every other month and its always the kr companies, plus i highly doubt the specific site mentioned here is actually mangadex

japan seems pretty comfortable with its situation so far of "absolutely no pirated manga within japan, what happens overseas isnt our problem"

This was incredibly exciting and heartwarming! It was good to see everyone that showed up -- whether it was limited to appearances within our Discord, fleeting moments in-game, or those that even spent all weekend with us out at the event venue!

I genuinely cannot stress that this event would not be possible without all the kind and generous volunteers that are a part of the team. Whether they joined at the conception of the idea, or during the events thus far! I would have probably given up super easily if no one reached out. I wouldn't have had the drive to continue onward. But your belief in this to reach out is why I genuinely want to recognize and thank you for doing even just THAT. Your belief encouraged me, and we made such an amazing weekend for people who came by.

To everyone else as well, even if you're not a volunteer. It's easy to look at this event on a surface level and feel maybe jaded, incredulous, and skeptical of such an event; "People just giving away free stuff? Because they want to? Okay, what's the catch?"

I'm glad for you. You who believed and trusted in us to fulfill your wishes. You who came and got something. Who showed appreciation for what you got. You who got something for someone else special to you just to make their in-game experience something better.

I also posted this in Discord for everyone that's there, but I feel like it bears repeating for anyone here seeing it for the first time that has come to the event, donated to it, or wanted to help in some way that maybe didn't join our server for whatever reason they may have had.

We have so many people ask: "What can I do in return? / What can I give you in return?" My answer may differ from some of the volunteers, or otherwise! Though I'd like to implore everyone who has this question in mind to simply repay the kindness forward. Make someone else smile this winter holiday -- no matter what holiday you celebrate! Make someone's winter season that much more enjoyable. Winter is rough for a myriad of reasons, and I feel like there's a lot of emphasis on bringing joy and warmth to others during the season, but sometimes it feels like it's never seen to. If you can and if you're welcome to, just bring a little extra warmth to someone who seems like they need it. ♥
