The urge to write fanfic of mastermind mondo with a dabble with ishimondo is so STRONG. Think of not only the betrayal, but how Taka is like the antithesis of that damn school and sorta despair(in a way??). Doesn’t wanna be called a genius, wants to think the best of people and assume they’re just as righteous as he is with the same values(I mean…it’s kinda arrogance and naivety…never forget the “murderer raise their hand” idea he had, BUT it’s from a good place!) until they strongly prove otherwise. He has hope, and djfjfjjfjrjrjrjrkjk guys just imagine with me PLEASE how good this can get. Do you SEE my vision?!??!

I just realized. Not only is it Edgeworths no good very bad few days in the first investigations game but because he was involved in each case (found the body x 2, held at gunpoint, kidnapped) he's probably also going to have to be involved in all of their trials as well either as a witness and/or prosecutor...

Hey, do you remember that really homoerotic scene from Skyfall? No? That's okay, here's a Vettonso version of it :)
- explanation & w/o text:
Hi hello, finally my weird psychosexual relationship with Casino Royale has come to fruition. Yeah this is directly based off a scene from Skyfall, but I def envision the vibe as being more like Casino Royale hehe. I can't believe I made that inspo board for this AU almost 4 weeks ago, and then ended up drawing a four panel "comic" about it. Ahhhh proud of myself, a bit, a tad. I think this took 20+ hours across the span of a week? God. Anyways I digress! The AU!!
First of all, their Bond song would be "My Way of Life" by Frank Sinatra. It's so toxic, codependent and obsessive, I'm in love with it. And it really suits Fernando and his motivations and outlook in this AU. Basically, MI6(in the context of James Bond) in this AU is an analog for Ferrari. It picks theses guys up, tells them that they're Ferrari MI6's most special boy, chews them up, and then spits them out when they're finished extracting all their talent and skill and life force.
Much like with Ferrari, Seb in this AU replaces Fernando after Fernando loses favor and becomes undesirable. Now Seb is the new golden boy, and Fernando has turned to a life of crime! Fernando resents Seb for this of course, but also becomes obsessed with him and the idea of him , and how they are connected. It's weird to watch someone else basically go down your exact same path and unknowingly make all the same mistakes(buying into the mysticism of it all too much, being overly cocky, having naive beliefs and goals, etc.) He is caught between wanting to doom Seb even more but also wanting to "save" him, by corrupting him and convincing him to work together.
Basically: He's both a Bond girl and Bond villain.
Fernando is in such a weird place in this AU. I think he's just very dramatic. Seb is just casually living his best 007(005?) life, and Nando is watching him with binoculars, whispering to himself: "DOESN'T HE UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE NARRATIVE FOILS!?" Yeah he hates Seb, but like the song lyrics say, their lives and dreams are inherently tied up together. He would feel lost without Seb, because Seb basically, unknowingly, destroyed and then took over his life. Maybe he'll feel satisifed if he manipulates Seb into going down the exact same path a bit better.
About the drawings themselves. Still can't believe this scene is a real thing that actually happened, insane to me. But in this AU, after the events of these drawings, Fernando definitely kicked all his henchman out of the room, and fucked Seb in the chair. And then against the wall. And then on the floor. Hey man, Seb is already looking mighty delicious with his unbuttoned attire and being tied up.
I think the general plot would be that Fernando keeps trying to seduce him to the dark side, and Seb keeps making him think it worked, only to escape at the end of the encounter. Leading Fernando to just come up with increasingly more violent and kinky traps. Seb goes along with it(read: enjoys it), leaving Fernando satisifed, only to somehow escape and wink and make kissy faces at Fernando in the process. (Fernando smoking cigarette in bed: "How do I make him stay. Sigh.")
I like to think though that Fernando does win in the end, by realizing, ah wait shit I do need to actually explain my motivations to Seb. And Seb is so worn down by his job, not Fernando, and how he's being treated, that he listens, really actually listens, and realizes Fernando does really have valid reasons. And then they become evil crime husbands yayyyy. Wow you thought this was a espionage AU? Well it is, but just not the outcome you'd expect.

Something that bothers me about The Burning Maze is the first page. It's never really mentioned outside of tbm that Zeus forced Apollo to write toa as punishment but it kinda takes away some of Apollo's character development. I understand that Rick wrote it to prepare us for Jason's death later in the book but it diminishes how important his death is to Apollo.
Rick should've left Zeus' wishes out of it if he wanted to preface the book with why Apollo was writing the series. Apollo being forced to write toa makes it feel disingenuous like he didn't want to remember what it was like to be Lester and the sacrifices that Jason, Money Maker, Crest, and everyone else who died made.
One of the lines is, "... Zeus wants me to record my shame for prosperity." This makes it seem like Apollo didn't learn anything because he doesn't want to feel the shame he got when he was Lester. The shame, guilt, and sadness he feels for losing so many people is part of what it is to be human. He learns that there is value to life even if it isn't immortal life but including that line makes it feel like he doesn't want to remember that. He should want to write it on his own volition not because Zeus told him to.
If the first page didn't exist, I would've thought Apollo was writing toa to follow Jason's final request of remembering what it was like to be human. I would've thought that the books were Apollo reflecting on his time as Lester and his time pre toa.
I like to think that Apollo goes back to read toa after he questions a decision he made or when he's trying to remember all the demigods, nature spirits, and monsters that he encountered as Lester. I imagine Apollo rereading the books centuries after to remember what it was like to be human.

Right now, wine glass in hand and staring vacantly into the dark corners of the room in which he dwells - Barok can't help but think about his brother. To think about Klint during hard times, the man who he's always admired so much, has always come naturally to him - but it can't bring him any comfort now.
The truth is, Barok doesn't know what he should feel more betrayed about. The fact that the brother he'd wanted to emulate all his life was nothing but a killer, who's actions resulted in the ending and ruining of so many lives, including Barok's own? Or... is it that, until the very end, Klint was too afraid to share that horrible truth with him, even when that fear allowed him to be controlled into committing the most heinous acts imaginable?
It makes him want to laugh with a bitterness he hasn't felt in years. It makes him feel ill; desperate and angry and like a fraying rope about to snap. Perhaps it's sinful, and a sign of Barok's own weak character, that Klint's lack of trust in him might be what hurts the most. Had he thought Barok would break under the weight of the truth, and sought to protect him from that fate? What's worse is that Barok doesn't know how he would've reacted deep down. What's the scarier thought - that Barok would've turned away in despair and been unable to carry on just as his brother feared, or that he would stand with Klint, perhaps even turning a blind eye to his crimes...?
...There's no point in thinking about it now. But if he doesn't think about Klint, then there's no shortage of other things to take his place at the forefront of his mind. Such as the true identity of the Reaper, and how Barok had been complicit in his crimes for the longest time - allowing himself to be used and manipulated like a puppet on a string, even when he didn't see the full extent of it all.
His whole life, these past ten years in which he thought he'd endured so much, all for the sake of the people of London... what were they all for?
When he hears the knock on the door, it's tempting to ignore it entirely - he barely has the energy to stand, anyway. He doesn't know who it could possibly be, considering everything, but... in the end, he rises like a man possessed, and finds himself walking to open the door as if in a trance. What he sees when the door opens is the last thing he expects.
"Mr... Naruhodo...? You... pray tell, what are you doing here at this hour?"

I'm trying to stop myself from resubbing to ffxiv just so I can keep my house like I did through most of endwalker patches. I hate that even if it does get demolished I only have I think 30 days to claim 80% of my money back then it's just gone forever :/
It took me so long to get one and even if I did get another in the future I'd have to decorate it all over again -_- I'm just not playing the game atm though.
I didn't even finish levelling my crafters and gatherers so getting back into it at a later date is gonna suck cuz I won't have the gear for new content or the ability to make the gear -_-
