Turns out your high school bully, Eric, also is starting at UVA this fall. To your surprise he was sitting in the dorm hall steps when you arrived… and he had gotten even more jacked over the summer.

Eric stood up and flexed his forearms when he saw you. “Well, well, well. If it isn’t my favorite faggot slave. You’re in here?” He jerked his head in the direction of the hall.

“Yes… yes, Sir.” you whispered meekly.

“What room?”

“312-B, Sir.”

He laughed cruelly. “Are you fucking kidding me? That’s my room. Looks like we’re gonna be roomies.” He threw an arm around you. “I’m gonna have a lot of fun this semester.”

Just as Eric was laughing, your mother walked up to the pair of you carrying a duffel bag filled with your clothes and a bag of groceries. “Who’s this?” she asked cheerily.

“This your mom?,” Eric asked, looking at her appreciatively.

“Yeah,” you said shyly.

“Nice to meet you. I’m Adam’s roommate, Eric,” he offered her his hand and she shook it.

“Nice to meet you,” she said to him. “Look at you, making friends already,” she smiled brightly turning to you.

“Here, let me take those for you,” Eric offered, taking the bags from your mom.

“What a gentleman! Thank you!” she smiled.

“No problem! These are easy for me,” Eric said cockily as he started doing bicep curls with the duffel bag.

“Oh my!” Your Mom laughed, and you noticed her eyes stayed on Eric’s bulging arms. “Maybe you can get this one into the gym with you.”

“Hahaha, yeah. I’ll show him a good workout,” Eric smiled. “Hey, Adam. Why don’t you go get another load from the car and I’ll show your mom our room?”

You knew to obey your superior and so you muttered “sure” and took off toward the parking lot.

“Come on,” Eric said and wrapped an arm around your Mom’s shoulders. “Let me show you which bed is mine.” Your mom let out a girlish laugh as she let herself be guided away.

She looked back over her shoulders and called out to you, “This one’s a charmer!”

Miserable and defeated, you went back to the car and grabbed a couple boxes of your stuff. Hauling it back to the dorm, and up a flight of stairs, you got to your room, knowing exactly what you would find. Sure enough, a dirty gym sock was on the door handle and the hallway was filled with the sound of your mom’s ecstatic moans, the steady creaking of a cheap twin bed frame, and Eric’s deep, confident voice grunting out “Yeah, bitch! Take it!”

Giratina's Temple and the Celestica Ruins

aka Giratina/platinum clan theory is back (also sorry for using mspaint lmao)

So we all know about the Shrouded Ruins, yeah?

(This is the only spoiler warning for Pokemon Legends: Arceus you're gonna get)

Spooky. Ever-cloaked in mists and mystery, surrounded by black-stoned cairns like graves and home to the giant Odd Keystone that once (?) housed 108 souls. Very ghost-centric.

Well what if I told you it was a temple?

Greco-roman temples (and, problematic or otherwise the celestica are absolutely greco-roman coded) are constructed relatively uniformly, with an outer later of columns holding up the roof and an inner layer holding up an internal structure, providing additional support, ect.

We have a perfect in-game model to project from, too, in the Temple of Sinnoh (pre-explosion). You can see that some of the smaller columns are sometimes decorative - likely they held up torches or, in the case of the two nearest the 'altar,' offerings

So knowing that style and having the remaining structures we do see in-game, we can approximate a lay out of what the building may have looked like.

What makes this a temple, however, is more open to interpretation. My evidence to support that it is is actually the blue-tinged pedestals seen within the outline of the building - the place(s) of honor in any temple. Irl, the inner structure - the cella - was often fully-walled in, though sometimes this was constructed via wood and other materials that don't withstand time.

Now, ENORMOUS shout-out to pokemaniacchris and the incredible Crimson Mirelands Archeological Survey Project for a really detailed, in-character breakdown of the ruins structures throughout the mirelands. I can only assume the 'surveyors' hadn't reached Mt. Coronet yet in their explorations.

Pedestals like these (at least superficially similar) are found beneath dozens of statues around Mt. Coronet, including beneath Giratina, Palkia and Dialga in the Sacred Plaza area. Now, I know I'm supposed to be claiming that this is a temple to Giratina, but if we work on the assumption that the four pedestals corollate with Giratina, Palkia, Dialga, and Arceus, a new conclusion can, perhaps, be drawn:

That whoever built this temple saw all four of them on the same 'level' of power or -- and this is my hc taking over -- if the statues were placed in a certain orientation (see below) that they saw Arceus and Giratina on equal footing, with Dialga and Palkia one rank below.

And there is, imo, more evidence to support this disruption of the 'creation trio' into two pairs on equal footing, found in the Celestica Ruins! So, among the structures there are two notable, circular buildings that the Greeks also utilized, called tholoi (plural). Irl, tholoi were a mix of secular-use and small-scale temples, and seeing as these two are small (maybe 10ft across inside?) I would maintain the claim that they're small temples.

And they align/mirror each other just as the statues of Palkia and Dialga do.

This part becomes pure conjecture, but I like to think the smaller structures in the ruins might be other small-scale temples for the various mythicals, honoring each much as the Greeks honored a pantheon.

Lastly, the CMASP describes the "Gapejaw Bog Complex" as being potentially an entire agora all its own and I can't agree more. Such evidence would support the idea of there being two groups of Celestica (Note: Not the Clans.)

I actually found myself wondering if the mirelands weren't always quite so swampy, and instead flooded at some point in the past with the depressions around Gapejaw - left by housing foundations - filled in with swamp water.

At the end of the day, I think there's a lot of evidence that the Celestica revered Giratina as well as Arceus, Dialga and Palkia - at least early on. Something happened to cause this schism, and the Old Verses/Plate inscriptions point to an outburst of rage from Giratina -- though, in "pick a god (and pray)" I actually argue it was mispercieved on the part of the Celestica and this misperception is what caused Arceus to despair and withdraw.

Any headcanons about alphas submitting to omegas out of need not want. Like omegas who are so fear induced it causes anger and they become dangerous. How would that go? In what way do you think an alpha would submit, how could they make themselves small enough for an omega to calm down to allowing them near?

This ask is centered more around the fear side of needing to submit ofc so I'll start there. I’ve thought a little about this myself so maybe I can try my best to answer even tho I’m sure others probs have better grasps on alpha behavior than me teehee.

So, let’s say an omega is in an extremely fearful mindset. A number of things could have happened to bring them there, and if an omega has trauma or was recently traumatized they could be dealing with a stress induced post trauma mindset started again by nightmares or triggered memories, it’s not so important aside from the fact they’re currently in a mindset that has them reacting at base instinct of aggression and lashing out in order to protect themselves or someone else, like another omega or a pup.

The omega is growling loudly, fat tears streaming down their cheeks because they’re so scared from whatever is making them feel this was, they’ve already caused some damage to other packmates who’ve been lucky to come away with injuries not deadly, but they’ve only just made the omegas mind state worse.

All packmates are good for situations like this usually, but sometimes in these heavily primal mindsets, they’ll need submission to show them that they’re in charge of this situation, so at least on a base level, especially if they’re out of their mind and again, just working on base fear instinct, they’ll know they’re no longer in danger. But perhaps, other omegas submitting hasn’t helped and betas trying too has also had no effect so the last and most unusual rung of the ladder to submit is an alpha. It’s not necessarily entirely uncommon for alphas to submit (to my verse ideas at least) but it is uncommon to do outside of an omega partner or very high ranking omega. It’s also difficult.

Alphas scents differ distinctly like omega scents and beta scents do. You’d be able to distinguish them at least most likely, so submitting to a dangerous omega as an alpha poses a bit of a threat on its own. Being an alpha, especially in a situation the omega is suffering because of an alpha, is not ideal in these situations. They’re used to being submitted to but not always submitting.

I think, the first thing to do for an alpha would be to get as small as they can if they aren’t already a small alpha. And if they were, make their presence small. (Alphas might not always have the physical size or exuberant presence that can be overwhelming, I think they too can be meek and smaller in many ways if that’s just how they look or how their personalities go, but being an alpha still means needing to adjust in situations like this to avoid danger.

So alpha makes themself smaller in anyway they need to at first. That put their presence in a much less threatening place to an omega who isn’t so aware of surroundings outside of their fear.

Next, an alpha needs to smell and sound submissive or placating. Some alphas would have a bit of shame for doing such a thing, some would even object entirely but an omega in this state requires the actions to be taken.

I think presenting themselves in a submitting way is the last thing they’d do. Barring their necks the last possible thing necessary because it’s the most dangerous of steps. Barring your neck at any aggressive wolf, be it fear aggressive or just down right so, is stupidly dangerous. That’s one of a persons most vital spots so it’s the last offered but often the most placating. An alpha submitting to an omega completely and fully can bring many omegas down from such a state. (If they can’t be brought down from this, they probably have to be taken down and sedated for their safety and others)

Ways to tell an omega is accepting the submission is a lessening in growls, defensive posture lowering and especially response to the sounds the alpha (or anyone in this case) is making. In their deepest headspace, when the alpha trying to calm them is in complete submission posture (even mindset teehee) the omega slowly scenting them is another great sign but never a sign of danger being gone. Not until they completely relax and show functioning cognition again, without that, trust can be broken and the cycle can be reverse.

This mindset can be solved simply with time but the dangers of it being left in such a raw state is not desired by packs especially if other packmates or pack puppies are involved due to possibility of accidental injury.

I'm not enough into a/b/o that I could see myself writing a whole fic about it, but if I did, I've always thought the "secret forcibly repressed omega" storyline would actually make way more sense for Jamie than Roy tbh. Jamie crafted this whole performative facade of aggression and domineering because he was abused for being "soft" and forced to "dominate" when it wasn't what he wanted/what came naturally to him yk. Like James was trying to make him into something he wasn't and forcing him to keep his authentic self close to his chest
