To be clear, I'm not pro-purity culture. I just- this one stings and I have to literally curate my experience so hard because of it

I can't stand when it's used as "code" for "queer experience" either because it's just positioning queer as "unnatural / evil," and that bothers the heck outta me when they're equated. Inappropriate boundary crossing, grooming, and abuse =/= insta-queer. It's like HMMM. The way ppl stan the crowley hookup when it's a shows canon incest kink interest squicks the fuck outta me and like...the whole Demon!Dean is a study in disinhibition! Disinhibition was shown as very evil / shameful / uncomfortable experience for Dean, like, the entirety of season 10...Sam even tries to comfort him about it. But because Crowley-Dean supports those sides of Dean ppl want in their ships, they overlook that aspect of it.

There's also the American-ness of howling at the moon and total "I do what I WANT" as being a good thing, when it's clearly shown as...not. There's gotta be balance, man.

Reduced inhibition is OFTEN used as circumvention of consent, as Dean recounts in his John-and-the-bar story. And disinhibitions are ofc not always a reflection of true self. I'm thinking of a neuro unit, where an injured TBI survivor hits on his granddaughter. Is that his "true personality?" Of course not! It's a loss of free will, judgment, and choice due to the injury and/or disinhibition.

And this is a show about free will, after all.

Drinking and drugging tend to ‘loosen you up’ by reducing inhibitions. But they remove your judgment and CHOICE about things, too. That's not necessarily free will. Reduced inhibitions can be enjoyable, but they can also create risks and dangers. Our inhibitions serve to keep us acting within an acceptable threshold; reducing these inhibitions can push you past the threshold.

Drug addiction is sometimes potrayed as "freeing" but ofc that isn't the complete story. Even so, the show doesn't agree that the punishment fits the crime. Like Crowley, Randy is complex, and he has real feelings and emotions for his relationships!

[They hear screaming come from upstairs. In the room, Claire is screaming, trying to fight Salinger off. He’s trying to hold her down, and the door flies open. Castiel is standing there, and Salinger turns to look at him, giving Claire enough of an opening to kick Salinger in the face and get up. She kicks him, over and over again.]

CASTIEL: Claire. Claire!

[Castiel grabs her arm, and she finally stops kicking. Cas leads her from the room. They walk downstairs, and Claire moves away from Cas.]

[Claire climbs into the back seat of the Impala, and Castiel sits beside her. Claire smiles.]

CASTIEL: Are you okay?

CLAIRE: Yeah.

[She moves over, laying her head on Castiel’s chest, wrapping her arms around him. Cas hugs her back. Sam climbs in the front seat and glances back. He turns his head back towards the house as he hears shouting, then leaves the car as fast as he can.]

Uhhhh, not exactly. In Code Veronica, Alfred and Alexia are child genius twins with a creepy incest thing going on. Alexia puts herself on ice to incubate her new zombie virus. Alfred, obsessive and missing her, starts crossdressing and pretending to be her to carry on conversations with himself. Later on, Alfred is killed and the real Alexia emerges from her hibernation to become the endboss.

It's that old "crazy crossdresser" trope handled with the grace you would expect from Japan in the year 2000, it would *no doubt* be made more palatable to the audience of 202X. But it's not... whatever that other asker said.

THAT would be Morpheus Duvall, the villain from the absolutely fuck awful RE: Dead Aim, who DID inject himself with some stupid virus that turns him into a "sexy trans demoness" and it IS cringe and horrible, and that game is never going to see the light of day again, lmao.

in order, the old gods help me here, under the cut bc this is long as fuck

when I got into fandom also given what numbers were on ao3 one ship was popular and it was sansan. no like sansan was lit. the only asoiaf ship on ao3 with more than 200 fics. jb had twenty when i checked first. jc had like around 100-ish because of the show but sansan dwarfed anything. I posted the first jon/ygritte fic on the ao3 tag and the fourth throbb fic and like the others were all reposts from lj kinkmemes. nothing was popular before the show except for sansan when it comes to huge numbers bc grrm doesn't like fic and it was all hush hush until the show made it impossible to control and that ship was the one with a huge enough fanbase it actually had numbers, so like... j*nsa wasn't popular in the way nothing else was popular until it got screentime on the show

now, that stated, j*nsa had a... fair amount of fic for a rareship which was mostly book-based and from og shippers that were there from before the show and liked it for what it was but literally none of them thought it was gonna be canon, like it wasn't huge or anything but it had a small but dedicated fanbase who did their own thing and thought it was fun/liked the idea but that was it

that fandom had their own niche of hcs that they cultivated and shit except that like... at the end of S5/beginning of S6 there was a surge in shipping for... well obvious reasons bc it was obv sansa was getting to the wall and that would have been all nice and good but a) it was the time puritanical shipping was starting to take root and the 'shipping sansa with sandor or tyrion is hella problematic' rhetoric had started to circle coming from sans*ery shippers mostly but I'mma not open that fucking can of worms here, b) while the ending of S5 had more of a theon/sansa spike, the j*nsa stuff started getting big

now here we have to mention my villain origin story ie: j*nsa fandom had this one stan whose name I won't make because honestly it's been years and if she's still around I don't want her to remember I exist who was a bnf, wrote for... the website that created the whole larry/carol thing etc who was really fixed on this thing that j*nsa was actually canon and started writing extremely popular meta about it. now you're gonna ask how do you know, I know because this person once wrote a meta named 'why robb stark is a dick' and I told her that it was really fucking bad meta and she took it so badly she kept on trash talking me on her blog/her podcast (I was apparently the insane robb stark fangirl l m a o good lord) and like that was when some sane ppl who argued with her informed me in pvt that she was basically harping on the CANON thing when they'd have been okay with like... it being crackshipping and that she was basically cultivating a hoarde of followers who were harping on them/the ogs and basically ostracizing them;

I would like to add that this person - before her tumblr got 'accidentally deleted' and remade it therefore deleted most receipts for, er, her so-called meta which included stuff like ned and cat raised sansa as a sexual object and only wanted to sell her like cattle - had at some point started a round robin fic thing where... some of the characters mocked openly said stuff that some of the og fans had said specifically targeting them and people in that side basically went harassing anyone who didn't agree with that specific notion

now never mind that this person basically coined an entire term to describe ppl who liked white guys and excused all their wrongdoings out of my conversation re robb basically lying about everything I said as if I didn't have the receipts and tried to sell shirts with it and it didn't work and like then she got kicked out of her own website because she was telling her commenters disagreeing pretty shitty insults (considering I was called psychotic for disagreeing with her that time I don't doubt it) I think at some point she stepped back from fandom bc idk wtf she's up to these days and I don't want to, but basically at that point the dam was broken and there was a bunch of puritanical shippers harping on anyone who didn't agree with j*nsa is canon endgame stuff

this also includes an incident when those ppl were like... passing themselves as throbb shippers and ended up trying to tell t*hramsay shippers off the theon tag based on moral reasons and I ended up arguing with all of them (and they were all from that crowd) which in turn landed me in contact with other og j*nsa shippers who were like detached from that fandom bc those same people harassed them away as well ssooooo fun

anyway when S6 happened everyone was high on it and whatnot but I wasn't gonna begrudge them that I mean... you shipped it for years, canon is delivering you, good for you, but then j*nerys happened

and even if the show didn't go there now since everyone there banked on the jnsa endgame thing and admitting you're wrong is like... not a thing, they still haven't let go of it and attach to that ship any shred of evidence which honestly is grasping at straws half of the time (like... the sansa/alysanne parallels like guys please no) and which is why every other ship is starting to get fed up, attaching canon proof of stuff from other ships onto theirs see that batb argument and jb is platonic but jonsa is not nvm taking all the sansan stuff and throwing it on j*nsa but then denying that sansan has canon evidence (like guys I had to read sansa touching his shoulder when saying gregor wasn't a true knight wasn't meaningful and we were seeing things please) and blah blah blah

this also goes hand in hand with the fixation on like... villanizing dany at all costs and like is2g I have zero investment in dany or her storyline I don't even remember it and I don't particularly care abt her either way and sure af I'm not for j*nerys endgame but like.... some stuff I read is completely excessive esp when fixing on how she's a completely mad tyrant who's gonna have to be put down and like... guys no

I think most of the og shippers are gone or don't ship it openly bc they don't want to be attached to the drama but like I also think they're pissing off everyone else bc like... hotness level: get away from me | meh | neutral | theoretically hot but not my type | pretty hot | gorgeous! | 10/10 would bang (Dark, Tall and Snarky + piercing grey-blue eyes and chronic insomnia? clearly my type ❤)

hogwarts house: gryffindor (maybe....?) | slytherin | ravenclaw | hufflepuff

ugh, the hp sorting house system is way too reductive. he has qualities of gryffindor, slytherin, and hufflepuff - brave, astute, loyal to a fault, etc. so it's a hard choice. but if i really have to choose, i'd go for gryffindor. i know that his Bad Boy facade shouts slytherin, but while he has larger goals (killing all the titans, then saving the world etc.), he's got no actual ambition for himself. hufflepuff would also be a good option.

daemon (from the his dark materials series): (because i've just decided that's just way more accurate than the hp method) some kind of big feline. maybe a panther - a black panther would be the ideal - aloof, predatory, dangerous, fiercely independent.

best quality: besides his obvious strenghts as a leader and warrior, the way he cares for his comrades-in-arms. it's very hard to gain his trust and respect, but once you have it, it's forever. he's pragmatic and ruthless, yes, but he also has a huge capacity for compassion and friendship. not that he would be effusive about his affections, of course.

worst quality: none, he's absolutely perfect ❤ jklsdfhjk jokes aside, he really struggles to open up (a serious understatement), idt he ever talked about his traumatic past with anyone. i mean, maybe he mentioned it to hange and erwin (erwin knew him when he was still an undergound thug, so...), but... he's not great with feelings. despite his apathetic, intimidating mask, he feels and cares deeply, but he has a long history with losing the people he loves, so he tries to not personally care about his squadmates, which can be both a strenght and a weakness. of course, he spectacularly fails at this.

ship them with: well, it's not a secret that i'm a huge rivamika fan, this ship is almost literally consuming my waking thoughts lmao. imo they're perfectly compatible: very similar personalities (stoic, the strongest warriors, absolutely terrifying on the battlefield but with a soft underbelly), very similar pasts/experiences, so many parallels that it's actually ridiculous, etc. i love how they're both each other's equals and likeness (yes, i took it from jane eyre. no, i don't regret anything lmao). a lot of tropes i love, too: Terrible First Impression (the Pride and Prejudice vibes are so strong with these two, you have no idea), Kindred Spirits/Mirror Images, Veteran/Young Prodigy, The Last of Their Kind, even Height Difference lmao. i could write a whole rivamika manifesto, but this is already too long. (maybe for some other time 👀) i would've loved for their dynamic to be more explored in canon but alas, isayama clearly didn't give a shit about the ackerman legacy, he just used it as a plot shortcut to give them conveniently unique powers, since they never really talked about it 🙄 (and before some troll comes into my askbox shouting "you iNcEsT fReAk!!!!1!!", they're only very distantly related. we know shit about the ackermans but we know for sure that they've got at least several generations between them. biologically their shared DNA is 0%, obviously they don't see each other as family, all the eldians have a dead ass common ancestor from 2000 years ago so they're all basically ⁓related anyway. if you really wanna scream about i.ncest, go watch got/dark/the borgias and shut the fuck up please. or alternatively go outside and touch some grass) sorry for the rant, uh. anyway, i can also see levi/erwin. idk if i'd ever care enough to read a fic about them (i'm usually a huge multishipper, but for some weird reason not when it comes to rivamika? same with braime and kastle tbh), but still, i can see it.

misc. thoughts: besides the stupid teenage fangirl crush i have on him, i'm genuinely fascinated by the man himself. he's a huge mess of a contradictions, and yet somehow it works: he's violent and brash and kind of an asshole, but also has a strong moral code and integrity; he's obv very skilled at all the killing/torturing stuff and yet he has a huge respect for life; he's got a potty mouth to say the least, and yet some very aristocratic manners/tastes (the way he sits, his preference for tea and usually refined clothes); he comes from what's supposed to be an illustrous bloodline, he's methodical and very precise, and yet he was born and raised in the underground, he's been used to filth and blood and poverty since he was a child, kenny of all people was his father figure, and probably has known no other life than a perennial survival mode existence. he's "humanity's strongest soldier", but while well-built he's also small, the david to the titans' goliah, and probably not what people would assume a born warrior looks like. he's also one of the few characters who stayed true to himself and his original characterization until the end, bless you smol king ❤

this is actually easy: mikasa belongs to hufflepuff and no, i won't take criticism (just joking lol). enough with this "hufflepuffs are fluffy puppies/Cinnamon Rolls <3" thing: mikasa values loyalty and duty more than anything else. she's also hardworking... and fierce, strong, lethal. yes, hufflepuff and lethal are not mutually exclusive concepts.

daemon: (finally the better option) a she-wolf, fiercely protective of her pack.

best quality: loyal, brave, incredibly strong (alongside her more fragile qualities). practical and level-headed on the battlefield, at least when eren is not included in the picture.

worst quality: struggles to let go of the past (understandable, considering her trauma). tunnel-vision when it comes to eren, obv. extreme levels of delusions ("if only i spoke openly about my romantic feelings for him - as if i didn't made them abundantly clear in ⁓6 years - he wouldn't kill 80% of humanity :(((" lmao okay. just. okay), but that's more on the writing. she's sadly more static than any other main character throughtout the whole series.

ship them with: see above :) but recently i've also started to be intrigued by mikasa/annie and mikasa/sasha. also, i'm sympathetic to jeankasa fans, though i don't actually care for the ship.

brotp them with: EMA trio, especially armin+mikasa. their friendship is so beautiful and special. also sasha.

needs to stay away from: ...... eren, at least romantically. again, that's more on the writing than anything else, but e.remika unfortunately encompasses many tropes i loathe with all the strength of my old shriveled heart: childhood friends-to lovers where the (male) childhood friend doesn't acknolewdge/is completely indifferent to the other (female) friend's romantic feelings, she hopelessly pines for him for years without anything more than a cold shoulder... until in the last chapter it's revealed that he loved her all along and doesn't "want other men to have her!!! :((" (then why did you have no reaction whatsoever to jean's years-long crush on her while she was jealous of any vaguely female-shaped human being you were friendly to, including hange? are you that dumb, man?); the female character's development and entire arc 100% revolves around the male protagonist - she has no goals, no dreams of her own except staying with him forever and ever; the romance is based on an idealized childhood dream, therefore reaffirming those childish illusions would make the character regress, not actually grow up (and nope, epilogue!jk doesn’t count; that also lacks build-up - i would’ve said the same about rm as well, so it’s not about shipping, guys, it really isn’t - and mikasa needed an inner change; getting married to another man but still praying to eren’s shrine is not substitute to actual development lol). post-time skip she's never really frustrated/angry with him, they never get a confrontation about him becoming a, y'know, mass-murderer of gigantic (pun intended) proportions; she puts him on a pedestal, and never stops idealizing him/never sees him for what he actually is (the narrative framing him as some kind of tragic martyr/saint eren from paradis with zero agency and basically... no clear motivation for the abovementioned mass murder, and not the actual complex tragic anti-hero/villain motivated by revenge and righteous fury he deserved to be, does not help). it lacks a good or even decent build-up - it's basically all tell and not show. now, if they'd actually been childhood friends to enemies to lovers/mutually co-dependent... it could have been interesting. sadly, it's not my cup of tea. of course this is just my personal preference, no hard feelings to the shippers.

misc. thoughts: enormous potential. she's been my fav female character since s1 - and ah, i miss s1!mikasa, when she had actually other stuff to do besides mothering eren. i love that she's the strongest warrior (second only to levi, obv), that her skills are never called into questions despite her gender, i love how she stands up for herself and the people she loves, that she may seem cold and stoic and yet has a such a huge heart, that she's not perfect but also sometimes awe-inspiring. sadly, she never really gets out of eren's shadow; what she lacks is an arc focused on herself. that's why imo getting deeper into the ackerman lore would've helped (also, you cannot make the main female character and the most popular male character descend from the same Unique Bloodline or whatever, and never really make them acknowledge it out loud; as a writer, you just can't lol). my spite is so strong that i'm currently writing a ridiculously pretentious fic that's 70% development for her character, to give her a voice, and 30% ackerthirsting. (yes, that's the fic i'm always vagueblogging about lmao, rip @ my brain). if any other rivamika fan is interested… mind you, it’s in italian tho, and idt i have the skills to translate into english.

Now listen Midsommar was very well crafted

Had gorgeous cinematography and was exceptional at creating a creepy vibe. 

Had an intriguing protagonist with emotional issues that were portrayed very well. 

Ari Aster is a master at building up unease in your stomach and making your butt clench with discomfort. 

He knows how to set a tone and to unravel a mystery in the creepiest ways possible. 

But...

I dunno.

The movie never seemed to speed up and was extremely slow.

Which would be fine if it had a satisfying ending but I wasn't particularly impressed with midsommar's ending.

I was hoping for something cleverer or more interesting.

I was also hoping to be shocked and disturbed by this weird commune but nothing they did was really that surprising.

Killing off their elders?

Seen it. It's in like every star trek, plus it's in soooo many dystopias.

Making a dude have sex with a virgin in a ritualistic fashion while everyone watches?

Seen that too. That terrible children of the corn remake.

Getting into a bear skin? Gross but not super strange or unusual in the horror genre.

The product of incest? Kind of scary but underused.

The guy strung up by his organs? 

Unusual, but kind of too much like Hannibal for me to be terribly impressed. 

I was hoping for more, I was hoping for some intricate secret ritual that puts people in uncomfortable, horrible positions. I didn’t want the movie to fall into the “well pagans are like devil worshippers, they sacrifice people to the gods” trope, and it kind of did.

It was well researched and put a lot of thought into transforming cultural rituals into creepy ones, but I personally was rather bored. 

I was intrigued for two hours, then disappointed with how things were going by the two hour mark. 

I wanted to be scarred.

Like I was with Hereditary.

I wanted to have chills, I wanted to see things that wouldn’t leave my mind for days, like the head of the poor girl from Hereditary.

That shit stayed with  me for literally a week. 

Horror movies have never affected me even half as powerfully as Hereditary did. 

Hereditary was incredible, and I was really hoping Midsommar would have the same effect on me.

It didn’t.

In the end, I just thought eh, they  only do it every 90 years. Global warming will kill us all before the next one anyway.

And I giggled to myself as the boyfriend is being burned alive in a bear suit.

It just...didn’t do it for me, that’s all, I think.

Yeah. 

It was too slow, and the build-up didn’t really go to any avenue I haven’t already been before.

Well-made film. I still like Ari Aster’s work. 

I’m impressed by the film’s creative camera angles.

But in terms of horror effect, I don’t think it did its job as a horror movie. 

I don’t mind not having  jump scares in a horror movie, in fact that was one of my favorite things about Hereditary. 

But the movie still has to be scary in other ways.

heads up in literally none of my aus is midoriya hisashi a good parent. i mean in canon we know exactly three details about him being his name, his quirk and that he works abroad. that’s it. so, i don’t really like “good parent hisashi”. this au is basically ‘hey what if izuku got a fire quirk from his dad’ combined with my own personal views on fire, and then also deciding ‘wait what if hisashi and endevor did the same shit’. so it’s basically an au where izuku is in the same situation as todoroki.

it’s….kind of complicated now that it’s written down. in my head its p straight forwards?? anyways, basically my view on fire is that it absolutely shouldn’t be demonized as much as it is. because without fire, life couldn’t exist. it’s warmth and life and beauty. i just…think that view of it is perfect for izuku, and i always wanted to try my hand at fire quirk izuku.

also one of my few aus that’s actually gonna have a ship focus?? in that it’s tododeku but honestly knowing me i might end up accidentally dropping that aspect of it like i tend to do a LOT bc of my inability to write crushes (im an aro who’s never had a crush so me writing romance is…awkward at best lol)

the one where hisashi is a villain

i have……admittedly a lot of versions of this au. it’s by far one of my favourites to think about, for several reasons actually, mostly bc of angst but also because the hurt/comfort potential there is incredible.

my most current version of this au though plays with the idea that in the mha society those with ‘villainous’ quirks get discrimated against and pushed so the only chance they do have to survive is to turn to villainy. in this au i play with hisashi and inko’s quirks a little to make them more villainous and easier to discriminate against, for example hisashi can cremate anything he touches into ashes at will, and inko can minorly manipulate the limbs of other people although she’s mainly limited to pulling them towards her or pushing them back.

in this version, izuku is quirkless and still goes through ua determined to change the way that society works and right the wrongs in how it’s set up while also proving that quirkless people aren’t useless. a lot of dadzawa in this one because it is my w e a k n e s s. there’s a few other elements thrown in there, but overall that’s the basic jist of it.

underground gladiator arena kidnap fic

one of my darker aus where a group of villains kidnap kids who took the ua exam to create an “everything goes” fight club that customers can watch and occasionally participate in.

my general idea for this was “the sports festival is pretty brutal when you think about it. it’s almost like everything but killing goes” and then i thought that in a superpowered society there is no way there isn’t any kind of underground fight club where people can go full out w their quirks.

hence this au was born! the kids who’re kidnapped w izuku have been constantly changing over the ladt year or so that i’ve had this idea but rn i decided on having shinsou, kaminari, mina, tokoyami and yaoyorozu w him. the rest would be filled w ocs bc the villains weren’t dumb enough to kidnap all of the heroics students, just a handful.

bearing in mind the kids are all taken a couple days after the entrance exam so they’re not familiar with each other and izuku is the only one familiar w a pro hero and that’s a secret. not to mention he’s only used his quirk once at this point, and he has no access to recovery girl’s quirk so he has to figure smth out IMMEDIATELY or he’s completely fucked.

the one where aizawa is inko’s brother

look if you inspect my aus carefully you’ll see a theme and that theme is i fucking love aizawa. anyways, in this one izuku has a pretty powerful nullification quirk and is trained by aizawa. aizawa and inko have like an eight or ten year age difference, so they weren’t all that close until inko reached out when izuku was eight.

i’ll admit this is one of my lesser developed aus but it’s canon divergent with a focus on izuku hoping to be an underground hero. and due to his quirk and that aspect of his personality, it kind of changes a lot of things??? potentially a short(ish) au if i ever got round to writing it out. maybs about 20k-30k words idk.

(this is mostly born bc i feel like people forget that there’s only a fifteen year age difference between aizawa and izuku for a number of reasons. also bc inko/aizawa….is kind of weird in my mind. definitely not a fan :///)

MUTE TODOROKI

look i fucking love mute aus okay, but when i was trying to apply it to the mha universe i started thinking “holy shit todoroki could definitely be mute” or smth and ever since this au is close to my heart.

basically when poor rei burned lil shouto, she mentally scarred him into mutism. ever since the kettle incident, shouto can’t speak a word. endeavor is told by the doctor that although nothing physically is wrong, shouto is mute. endeavor is a DICK and p much decides he’ll just wait it out for shouto to finally talk bc he’s just being childish (basically he’s ablist and doesn’t let todoroki learn sign. which is bullshit but doesn’t majorly effect him bc he’s homeschooled until high school anyway).

it’s sort of canon divergent but also maybe a complete au??? in that there’s no league of villains. when all might fought afo the first time he succeeded in putting a stop to the villain and killing him. izuku still gets ofa, but he’s not the protag of the story, this time it’s todoroki.

anyways, ua sees that todoroki is mute (which isn’t registered and completely unknown to the general public) and doesn’t know sign language (resorting to notes and/or charades if he needs to communicate something), and decides to investigate that shit.

endeavor eventually gets what he deserves bc the trash bag can go rot in hell, and that’s p much all i got aside from the class realising FAST they need to adopt and love todoroki so there’s a lot of wholesome bonding there.

izuku is related to all for one

admittedly this one is one of my most underdeveloped aus but i still love it all the same. basically my take on it bc the whole ‘afo is hisashi’ thing kinda weirds me out considering afo is at least 200 years old. in this au he’s izuku’s grandfather and inko is his daugther who escaped him and lives in hiding.

i haven’t decided whether i want this au to be my take on izuku having afo or if it’s another quirkless izuku au. i haven’t gotten very far into it, all i know is that afo has no emotions and he’s a heartless bastard (me hating the dad for one trope w a passion) so there’s sort of MAJOR angst potential if i decide to go down that route.

gamer au

izuku’s quirk is that his life is a game. that’s….that’s it. if you’re familiar with sword art online, it has a lot of influence from that w/o the characters or plot or pervertedness or incest because what the fuck sao was so bad with all those. still pissed bc outside that it had potential and i think abt that a lot.

anyways, so y’know how in a lot of rpgs there’s the hud w stats and an inventory system and abilities?? well apply that to izuku and he’s p much that. the world “autosaves” whenever he sleeps, but he can’t manually load a save. if he dies he starts over from his last autosave.

bc of his access to abilities and stuff, he has the potential to be powerful bc hey he can basically do magic, but at the same time he just healed his body completely by drinking this drink he made w herbs and shit last night. also he can carry a ludicrous amount of shit that couldn’t possible fit in his backpack but apparently he’s got seventeen cheese wheels in there and room for half the classroom furniture too.

izuku sees the world w a hud which would be annoying but it’s normal for izuku. in fact, he sort of hates watching tv because the hud doesn’t appear on the screen and it’s so weird and bizarre he doesn’t really like it.

i haven’t planned anything but details of the quirk bc it can get waaaay too overpowered too quickly and hhhh i sort of burnt out of different ways this would effect canon, so i didn’t think abt it. but i did figure out that izuku would have so many gaming analogies for his friends and be into like a thousand different games.

the one where uraraka is the protag instead

born when i was complaining about how shitty horikoshi is at writing his female characters i brainstormed this au in a discord server where i overhauled canon w a more badass uraraka. (and she doesn’t even get ofa!!! she’s just badass on her own!!!)

basically bc she’s a lot more confident and determined in this au she influences a lot of her classmates. the other girls are a lot more active in their actions and are more than just the background characters. uraraka’s full strength is explored and i think i planned for her to win the sports festival bc she deserved it.

also inspired by the idea i had of pro hero uraraka kicking a lamp post down on her own strength and using it to put a comet home run on a villain like she did in the battle trial. bc holy shit that’s a fantastic mental image.

basically my “mha girls fucking rule and fuck horikoshi’s shitty writing” au

ah yes, finally we get to my take on the most generic of aus. basically i just wanted todoroki in hufflepuff to piss off endeavor and basically loving it bc he befriends izuku in it. i definitely haven’t developed this au outside of worldbuilding in how i’d combine the two universes whilst fixing both jkr and horikoshi’s bad writing.

i actually wrote a snippet that’s somewhere on my blog that i can’t link to now but you could probs for search it. but this was basically born from me getting angry at people putting the kids in the wrong houses. im a firm believer that izuku fits in nearly every house but hufflepuff and slytherin suits him the most while todoroki is ABSOLUTELY a hufflepuff. i wanted some platonic tododeku bonding so i put izuku in hufflepuff. uraraka is slytherin, iida is gryffindor, and it’d be too messy to list all the kids so i won’t.

but!! what im most happy w in this au is how i incoporate mha stuff into it. like how hagakure isn’t actually invisible she just got permanently hexed by her brother to always be unnoticed so you can never know what she looks like or where she is. tokoyami has a bird head due to a failed attempt at becoming an animagi. its permanent and although he could get it fixed, theres actually a number of wizards w the same thing do there’s a lot of animal like wizards. shinhou comes from a pureblood family thats been known for their dark magic, even though the last four generations haven’t been dark wizards the wizardinv world is convinced he’ll be a dark wizard too but shinsou wants to prove them wrong. amajiki being a metamorphmagus who shifts his limbs into animals when he’s nervous. etc etc. i have too much worldbuilding and no plot lmao.

disney aus galore

one day i thought up abt three different disney aus for the mha universe but my first idea was a little mermaid au for momojirou w momo being the princess and jirou being the mermaid.

except besides the basic premise i p much scrapped the whole movie in that jirou learns sign language to talk to momo and the two play music together. jirou plays piano or w/e whilst momo sings. it’s v gay. theres a ball and they dance and then kiss. i never wrote it out bc i didn’t wanna add conflict in it but never got round to actually writing it lmao.

but i thought up a tododeku tangled au, kiribaku cinderella au, tsuocha princess and the frog au, and a couple others that i didn’t plan out fully. still close to my heart if i ever manage to get round to writing them out. each would probs either be a long shot at 7k-15k words or a short multichapter fic at 25k-30k words.

the Spite™️ fic

the fic where i get pissed at every shitty thing about horikoshi’s writing. izuku gets mad at all might for his views on quirkless people and gets into ua on his first try. izuku rightfully does not take bakugou’s shit and calls him out at every opportunity. bakugou’s actions have repercussions. all might gets punished for almost letting bakugou kill izuku in an exercise.

izuku gets pissed over a lot of shit basically. also at one point he either punts mineta into the sun or loudly and publicly makes the argument that mineta should be expelled from ua including evidence and testimonies from the girls. and he encourages nearly all of them to get better costumes.

i haven’t actually written much abt it but if there’s smth i got pissed @ horikoshi for smth in canon it’d be address in this fic bc oh boy am i never spiteful so it’s kind of theraputic to write even tho i haven’t done it in a while.

uh….i have a lot more but man i think i’ve been writing this for like an hour or two idk im gonna finish this before the app crashes or smth. thank you for letting me ramble this got long oops sorry.

What do you think on Korekiyo Shinguuji? Awesome and underrated villain or mess of writing and a waste of good concept for cheap shock value? Or maybe just a misunderstood little boy who had been sexually used by his own sister and had been scarred for life because of it?

Ah… there is a lot to unpack about Korekiyo. My general stance is that he is a good and unique character but that the third trial/murder is really bad in some ways, and it screwed him over, like, big time.

This is very subjective, but I love Kiyo’s brand of character, and I thought it was refreshing to see him in a Danganronpa game. First, he is book-smart, which is usually not a thing in these games because, guess what, if you write a character who is specialized in a field, then you better research this field thoroughly. It’s not fun, and that’s why the only ‘specialists’ in DR are characters like Chiaki or Tsumugi ( or even Hifumi ), who are specialized in stuff that the writers themselves are into. Because it’s easier. I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers had put more work into Kiyo’s character than into anyone else because his entire personality depends on his talents.

As a writer, this is very impressive to me, haha.

Even when it comes to the most… er… controversial parts of his character, they did research their stuff ! The rituals surrounding death and mourning is one of the most famous subject in anthropology, and so is the incest taboo. These are subjects that a lot of people don’t consider as rooted in culture but ‘natural’, almost written in one’s DNA, but are actually 100% cultural.

More than that, I thought Kiyo’s personality was very cool. Sure, he is painted as a weirdo from the start, but he is also smart, calm, level-headed. A character savy enough to protect himself from harm, but also unempathetic enough to create uneasiness with the others. I love characters who just see the world differently than most people, and Kiyo is exactly that. How can I not be interested in a character like that ?

The problem with his role in chapter 3 doesn’t lie - in my opinion - in his character, but in the way it’s portrayed. It really comes from nowhere The game could have convinced me that Korekiyo being a mass murderer made sense, or that his incestuous relationship with his sister was well-written. As it is… it didn’t.

To begin with, there is little to no setup to Kiyo being revealed as a “crazy mass murderer”. One trope I’ve always hated is the ‘ohoho, I was the bad guy all alone, and no one could ever suspect me before the truth blew up in your faces’. Sure, his case is less frustrating than Tsumugi’s… but still. Hell, beside his FTE, he only mentions his sister once. As for the ‘murderer’ part, once could wonder why he even waited until chapter 3 to act. He didn’t make a move in the first chapter, even though the deadline was coming, for example.

What I mean is that this is different from Tsumiki’s case, who just fell ill and immediately acted upon it in sdr2. Kiyo from chapter 3 just doesn’t match who we knew until then, and this is… the worst result you could aim for when you write a murder story. When you write a murder story, you need to reach the truth and be like ‘oh, of course ! How did I miss that ?’ “But he was pretending to be normal”, one could say. No offense, but considering how unstable Kiyo is in chapter 3, there is. no. way. he was pretending.

Also, if we really have to compare his character’s derailement with Tsumiki’s, it’s interesting to note that Tsumiki’s has a purpose. She regains her memory, giving informations and hints about the ending to the player and the rest of the cast. Kiyo’s is ultimately pointless. I don’t know is ‘shock value’ is the right word but… kinda, to be honest. Maybe in a way it could be seen as so unexpected that it would look too extra to be real - thus, necessarily scripted. But that’s very a reach, haha.

And even brushing that aside, his plan is dumb. If Kiyo’s goal is to kill as many girls as possible while inside, then he should have gone on a killing spree as soon as possible. If he wanted to leave the Academy and kept on killing outside, then why did he set up a plan that put such ridiculous target on him ? After killing Angie, he should have just rolled with it and adapted.

Everything about the third murder is about twisting Kiyo’s character to make him fit a pre-determined plot. Why does he have to kill two people ? Because third chapter. Why does he plot such stupid plan ? Because the writers probably thought about this murder and really wanted to put him into the game. If Kiyo didn’t care about dying why did he denied it ? ( the game flips flop so much on the topic, I don’t even know ) Because we obviously can’t have the murderer confess. And if that doesn’t fit Kiyo’s character, then who cares, anyway, right ?

Kiyo is a very original character that the writers bent to fit an uncreative mold, and it’s so frustrating. So many possibilities are thrown around in chapter 3, including the possibility that Kiyo could have gotten away with Tenko’s murder, and at the last second the game is like ‘lol, jk, let’s go back to our usual program, bye’, and I think that’s a waste.

The Wrath and The Dawn Duology (bitch you guess it) by Renee Ahdieh — These books are like my life, I adore them so much, they have all of the tropes that I fucking love (slow burn & hate to love, character that is seen as a villain & did bad shit but is a sad and broken human bean that needs deep love, badass girl protagonist that is a true queen, female friendship, magic, all of the characters are poc and the culture is portrayed very beautiful, etc. you get me) I don’t love them. Love is a shade of what I feel. (yes I quoted the wrath and the dawn to describe my love for the wrath and the dawn fight me)

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma — This book fucking destroyed my existence, I never cried and hated the world so much even tho there are more terrible topics than the one in the book (the topic itself is not terrible for me, the way its treated is). This one still kinda gets to me cause I find all the hate around it so unnecessary and unfair and you will too when you read this (its incest btw)

The Storyteller by Antonia Michaelis — This one is very special to me cause its two seperate stories, one that happens in real life and one is a fairytale that is told to a child, it describes the things that happen in real life with made up magical characters that represent the people in real life. It also treats various of problematic topics (murder for example) and I also cried in the end. (as you see I love problematic shit and I love crying sry not sry)

The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo — My fave series along with twatd, the thing that is special about it is I HATE THE ENDING BUT I STILL LOVE THE BOOKS AND ALL OF THE CHARACTERS except fucking fuckboy malaria who doesn’t deserve my beautiful sun queen. I was never so pissed of about an ending, but thankfully I have my theories and I can somehow cope with that ending :))

Lolita by Vladimir Nabokov — This book is a train wreck, also deals with a problematic topic (pedophilia). This book is written very beautiful, but I dont love the book, I wanted Humbert to get hurt very very badly. I mention it because it bothers me how people treat it as a love story and I want people to know that, no. Like no did you even read it?? its a story about a girl overcoming her abuser and karma fucking him like stahp romanticizing THE BOOK. What you can romanticize is the 1997 movie, this one is actually a love story in my opinion, fucked up, obsessive, sad but a beautiful love story, also one of my favourite movies.

Thanks for the fandoms, this will be fun! :D I already did Vesperia so I’ll skip that.  And I don’t think my answers for the second symphonia would change much because all my fave relationships in that game are still the original cast.  I don’t know Big Bang though, sorry!

Abyss:

My favorite parent-child relationship: I have a lot of feelings about Natalia and the King of Kimlasca and like how devastated they were to learn they weren’t related but how the king came around and got over his shock and realized that the relationship he has with Natalia is more significant than blood ties and accepted her as his daughter.

My favorite sibling relationship: Van and Tear and the way that they loved each other and he was such a huge influence on her but then she realized that the only way to save the world was to kill her beloved brother, and that her beloved brother has become so callous and cruel… ah that’s good angst.

My favorite family relationship (other): I adore the way Guy like adopted Luke and he was all set to kill him but then he ended up becoming a brother to him and was so integral to raising him to be the good guy that he is.  Guy set out to avenge his family, and instead he found a new one

My favorite friendship between two people: Gotta love the way Anise and Jade are these snarky assholes who get along great even though he’s a grown man and she’s a little girl.  It’s ok, Anise has an adult’s cynicism and cunning, she and Jade can be asshole bffs.

My favorite friendship between a group: I like the way the God Generals are like, you know, villains, but you can real feel for them sometimes.  The’re the bad guys, but like the way Largo carries Arietta away after she’s killed is just… they’ve all been cast aside by the world in one way or another and they found friendship with each other even though they’re doign awfult hings.

My favorite mentorship: So this isn’t a healthy thing but I think Luke’s relationship with Van is really interesting.  Van’s an abusive dickbag but the way Luke continues to call him ‘Master’ all through the end of the game, and how long it takes him to accept that he has to kill him, it really shows how much Van means to him and that makes it so much mroe tragic that Van was just using him all along and betrayed him so horribly.

My favorite rivalry: Arietta and Anise, like what happened to Arietta really sucks. 

My favorite hatred/antipathy: Asch and Luke, and how Asch is just so angry all the time and like it’s understandable that he hates Luke because Luke is the reason his life was ruined.  But also it’s not Luke’s fault.  And Luke doesn’t share Asch’s hatred, which probably just makes it worse for Asch because he can’t just have a healthy mutual hatred here.  And they end up as… not friends but like accepting each other.  

My favorite potential relationship between characters who never talk in canon: They don’t quite never talk, but I would have been really interested to see Asch survive and go back to Baticul and rebuild his relationship with his parents.  

Symphonia:

My favorite parent-child relationship: This isn’t a hard question and anyone who knew me in my ToS days knows the answer lol.  Complicated parent-child relationships are my jam and Kratos and Lloyd give me feelings like nothing else in this game.

My favorite sibling relationship: It doesn’t get much focus in the game but I’m really interested in the relationship between Zelos and Seles.  Something I think about so often is the way she says “come back safe” but then denies it and Zelos doesn’t hear and she doesn’t really say a proper goodbye to him.  And then if you do the Kratos path, and he doesn’t come back safe… who goes to the abbey to tell her Zelos is dead and how is she going to react to that?  

My favorite family relationship (other):  Another sibling relationship, but Raine is a good big sister and the fact that she raised Genis, alone, from the age of 12 is really impressive.

My favorite friendship between two people: I love Zelos and Lloys and I also ship them but also just love their friendhship in canon, like how whether or not Zelos betrays the group entirely comes down to whether Lloyd trusts him.  Lloyd is like the first person to actually be a good friend to Zelos and the fact that Lloyd trusts him means so much to him that he can’t bring himself to betray that trust.  I love it.  

My favorite friendship between a group: The Iselia trio of Lloyd, Colette, and Genis are so cute and I love them.

My favorite mentorship: I really like to think abotu Kratos being like a mentor to Mithos before everything went to shit and I wish we saw more of that.  

My favorite rivalry: Not exactly direct rivals but the vitriolic friendship between Sheena and Zelos is great.

My favorite hatred/antipathy: Mmm give me more of that Kratos/Kvar hatred like I want to see Kvar being a dick and Kratos with his righteous hatred all the time. I love the Asgard arc.  

My favorite potential relationship between characters who never talk in canon: I’d like to see Martel and Colette have a chat. 

Star Wars:

My favorite parent-child relationship: Gotta go with the class Vader and Luke.  Vader turning against the Emperor to save Luke is what I live for.  

My favorite sibling relationship: There’s only one sibling relationship int he movies lol but Luke and Lei’s awkward accidental incest to strong friendship is great.

My favorite family relationship (other): Han and Chewbacca are basically family, right?  I love them.  They’re bros for life.  I like how Han clearly understands Wookieese so fluently.  

My favorite friendship between two people: Han and Luke become pretty good friends over the course of the films and I find it sweet.  

My favorite friendship between a group: The original Han/Luke/Leia trio but I already answered almost every question with them lol so I also rather like Rey/Finn/Poe, even if it isn’t quite established yet as a trio.  

My favorite mentorship: Qui-Gon to Obi-wan is the best.  I read a whole series of mid-grade novels about Obi-wan’s apprenticeship and they may not be canon but they’ll always be canon in my heart.  I love Qui-Gon a lot.  

My favorite rivalry:  I want to see more of Han and Lando’s competitive asshole friendship.  

My favorite hatred/antipathy: Haaa I love when Finn shouted at Phasma like “I’M IN CHARGE NOW”.  I’ve said before I love love love the character trope of a character overcoming being used as a pawn and establishing themselves so his fighting back against the woman who manipulated and controlled him is great.

My favorite potential relationship between characters who never talk in canon:  I want an actual scene between Leia and Bail Organa.  What we’ve seen of Bail in the prequels is interesting and I want more of him and I want to see his actual relationship with Leia but that’s not going to happen now ;_;

First of all, thank you so much for writing a story just for me!

To start, some of my general likes/dislikes:

What I Like kid!fic (as in, the characters have kids, not the character are kids - toddler age is perfect), crushes/beginning of relationship (the concept of the feelings coming to fruition and both parties going, “WTF is going on? Why am I acting this way around him/her?” is one of my favorite fandom tropes), smut is always good, flirting.

What I Don’t Like Incest, bestiality and molestation are my only three sexual squicks, fandom has desensitized me to everything else. Character bashing. Yes, I’m generally a slasher but that doesn’t mean I hate the female (or in the case of a femslash ship, male) characters (or, if I do, it’s for reasons unrelated to “I ship his/her love interest with his/her best (fe)male friend and s/he gets in the way of the gay sex”). On that note, I also hate when writers completely disregard canon pairings. As much as I don’t want them to, they exist. If you’re gonna break them up, let us know how it happened. Please. And now, my specifics!

Requested Fandom #1: Backstreet Boys, Brian/Nick or Howie/AJ

For either pairing: Backstage hijinks? Tour bus loving? Or maybe a high school, college, or workplace AU?

I love both of these pairings and either would be lovely for me (if you even wanted to include both pairings, that would be amazing but don't feel like you have to do that!) I'm a major sucker for AUs over straight canon, but if you prefer to write canon, please please please do not have any of them cheat on their wives. (And if there is smut, set it when all parties involved are at least 18, thanks.)

Requested Fandom #2: The Sims, Pascal/Nervous

He's always looking toward the stars for love, but the love he needs is right down here on Earth

This is a prompt for these two that has been floating around in my head for quite a long time. Pascal, being the Knowledge Sim that he is, is fascinated with the stars to the point that he hasn't had time to forge many friendships on Earth, Nervous being an exception. And Nervous, wanting to settle down and have a family, as well as Pascal being his only friend, may develop feelings for Pascal and want to be a second father to Tycho (and yes I see Tycho as the "canon" name for Pascal's baby).

I love these two! They are the cutest pair and everything about them hits all of my shipping buttons, because they are good and pure and best friends and that it all I ever want in a ship. Anything you want to do is fine with me. Just please age them up to 18 if there is smut involved.

Requested Fandom #4: Mystic Messenger, 707/MC or Jaehee/MC

For 707/MC: Making their own space station

I have to admit, I hadn't fallen for Seven at first (I was a Yoosung girl!) but the more I learned about him the more he seemed to be right up my alley, so I quickly switched gears and was under Seven's spell. I think his little "Let's get married in the space station!" is cute, but obviously impractical, so instead they decide to build their own little space station here on Earth.

For Jaehee/MC: Love in the coffee shop

Oh, Jaehee, Jaehee, Jaehee. I did not expect her to be my breakout favorite in this game (again, I really wanted Yoosung!) but I ended up playing her route first and was shipping these two almost immediately. I want Jaehee to stop friendzoning MC and give her the romantic ending she deserves with her as much as she deserves with the boys (the Christmas DLC came close, but still not there!)

Requested Fandom #5: Pokémon (Games), Bianca/Hilda, Lillie/Moon, N/Hilda, or Shauna/Serena

For Bianca/Hilda: "Where have you been the last two years?"

The thing that got me about B2W2 is that all the major players from Black and White (Juniper, Bianca, Cheren, N, etc) return except for the player character. Where did she go? What did she do? And what does Bianca do when she finally returns?

For Lillie/Moon: Return to Kanto/Alola

I don't care if it's Lillie returning to Alola, or Moon making a trip to visit her in Kanto, I just want to see these two reunite and have Lillie gush to Moon about all her adventures in Kanto, and how much she missed everyone, especially Moon.

(Also, while I did use "Moon" and the canonical tag is "Lillie/Moon," I prefer the name "Selene" for the player character, but you don't have to call her that if you don't want!)

For N/Hilda: "The Pokémon wanted to see each other again, yeah."

I will admit that I wasn't one of those who was shipping N and Hilda from the get go because I saw N as a villain and my thought was how much of a jerk he was and how could anyone ship them together because he didn't deserve her, etc. etc. And then the end of the game happened and N does his 180 and it was like the heavens parted and shone a spotlight on these two and I saw it and it was good.

Now that that's out of the way, I can see these two definitely not realizing their feelings for each other, and using Reshiram and Zekrom as an excuse to reunite. (N can say that his Pokémon wanted to see hers - I played White and White 2 so N took Reshiram and Hilda took Zekrom, but if you wanna swap them and use Black/Black 2 canon go ahead.)

For Shauna/Serena: Let's go see the fireworks again!

Ah the fireworks scene. The moment of every Boutiqueshipper's (and okay, BrightTomorrowShipper's, for that matter) heart. I know that was the scene was the moment I started shipping them, and maybe they make it an annual thing, seeing the fireworks together and things progress from there. Bonus points if you include the fully evolved starter that she gives you in post game (I started with Chespin so I got Froabble the Froakie - now Greninja, but if you wanna include Chester the Chesnaught or Kinniekins the Delphox instead, feel free to!)

Requested Fandom #6: Osomatsu-san, Choromatsu & Ichimatsu or Jyushimatsu & Osomatsu

For either pairing: Typical hijinks! More along the lines of the show.

One of the things I love about this show is the crazy relationship the brothers have with each other (which is an exaggeration of the typical relationship siblings have: casual teasing with the unspoken brotherly love the six have for each other). I'd love a fic exploring that. And like my Backstreet Boys request above, if you want to include all four of these guys in the fic, go ahead!

Requested Fandom #7: Original Work, Female Boss/Female Secretary, Male Soldier/Male Soldier, or Female Alien/Female Human

For Female Boss/Female Secretary: "I always saw you as an equal and not a subordinate"

I'm not usually a fan of the "boss/subordinate" pairings, but I can definitely get behind two equals meeting in a work situation. I can definitely see the boss character treating her secretary as an equal, and that's where the feelings stem from.

For Male Soldier/Male Soldier: Wanting to reconnect after being discharged. 

When you're in a situation such as wartime, I'm sure you bond with your fellow soldiers. I can definitely see a couple of platoon mates (is that the term? Sorry, I've never served.) wanting to reconnect once they both go back to cilvilian life, and seeing where things go from there.

For Female Alien/Female Human: "How does your anatomy work?"

You could take this one to be just pure PWP, or if it ends up leading to something more than that go for it! One thing that's always got to me about stories involving aliens is that, for simplicity's sake, they have matching anatomy to humans (aside from the skintone being green/blue/gray/what have you). That just seems unrealistic to me, so something where the alien's anatomy is significantly different (to where both parties need to explain how things work) would be fantastic!

The thing that I've always loved about these two and their relationship is that Fry is always the exception to every rule Bender has about humans. He hates them, except Fry. He wants to kill all of them, except Fry. And it just leads me to believe that, ultimately, they would both realize that there was something special between them all along.
