I’m gonna put a read more on this for people who don’t want to read all my opinions. I will resume my regular shit posting and fic writing soon enough. I just need to talk about it.

Also this ended up being a lot longer than I thought it would be.

I’ve only watched it through once. But I'm gonna watch through again while I write this out so that I don’t miss anything I wanted to talk about.

So from the intro alone it wasn’t what I was expecting this isn’t a negative, just not a conventional movie. More like a short/indie short with a bigger budget than a standard indie. The end of Colson's monologue also doesn't add up to the ending of the film. But like it's a vibe so we move.

Why is this on Facebook at 1080p at best?, sound quality is so compressed on Facebook. Here's hoping they put it on youtube at least in 4k.

title track - I love this song so much. Still remember my first listen and being blown away by it and this part of the movie does it so much justice to be honest. Big up title track!

The transition into '8 months earlier' is so smooth, props to who decided on it.

kiss kiss - good intro to the characters. Colson playing the guitar out of the van window had me dead :')

some dialogue! Also Sydney Sweeney we already been knew she is an amazing actress but she was sick in this. Chase Hudson did really well in this actually, I know he gets a lot of shit from coming from TikTok and things he's said in the past. Always hold people accountable but let them try and be better.

drunk face -  really like how they did the sound mixing on this one so it wasn't a direct copy from the album. The Travis and Colson visuals for this one were great Idk I just liked it. Cute part of the film + the song just made this part *chef's kiss* VHS parts felt like they fit the vibe more here than on kiss kiss.

bloody valentine - at this point I was hoping for more speaking parts but then bv kicked in. I wish they either had more time or turned it into a series maybe? IDK the idea of the story is right there be perfect for a series. Visuals on Colson and Trav again perfect on this one, happy Slim and Baze were in on this one too. I think Baze and Slim being in this one is making it feel more like a show and missing me live music so much rn.

body bag - Okay so I got a little excited when the track started because I wasn't sure whether they would include songs off Sold Out, to be honest, but they did so v. grateful. This scene definitely went too quickly into another song though. More speaking pls.

forget me too - mohawk kells mohawk kells mohawk kells! - The reverse effect at the start was really smart. This part was slightly confusing at first cause they were fighting so I thought maybe she's told him she was pregnant. What a dick response but no she hadn't told him yet so just didn't make a lot of sense to me. Would have been cool to see the characters actually at/on the rink while they performed kind of like title track where it's like they're almost not really there.

all i know - Mod's cameo! The visuals of Colson and Trippie were good until the parts on the backlot, I feel like this just took you out of the movie. Like I get it but nah this one was my least favorite 'visualizer'. Loved Trippie's isolated vocals over the Sidney buying the guitar scene though.

lonely - AHHH this song, man think I cried the first 5 times I listened to it and when he played it live at the Roxy. The visuals for this one were perfect. VHS parts fit really well again here. "When the high runs out the downfall is inevitable." AHH so good just nothing bad to say about this part tbf.

WWIII - They hadn't location or time marked any other part so felt odd to add it at this point and also never do it again. Landon is basically mini Trav same facial expressions and everything thought it was sweet they put him in. Plus his acting was good. This is my go-to end of the week leaving work song. I know people have a lot of shit to say about this song online. But you have not lived till your going home fast in your car screaming this song.

hangover cure - another amazing song from Sold Out. Just vibin.

concert for aliens - okay actually really liked this scene besides people throwing up(?) in the visualizer part with Colson and Trav. Idk just weird I'm like scared of throwing up, cool Lil Aaron cameo tho.

my ex's best friend - no major thoughts just vibin.

split a pill - AHH this song, gutted only a background song tbf. It deserves all the love and more.

jawbreaker - alls I can think about is the serious clown lung they both must have after filming with all the flour :')

nothing inside - on the second watch I'm more confused at what Fenix is even doing. But loving Iann and Colson's visualizer. Okay, just a small breakdown guess he's okay now. To not have Fenix lip-sync to the "I'm running low on serotonin..." line was missed drama imo.

banyan tree interlude - beautiful. Don't you love that Megan wrote this? I do. But the pillow and blanket - bro - like I'm sad but got to be cozy right? :') also why not cut out the 'same' iykyk.

play this when i'm gone - 10/10 monologue. Honestly wasn't ready for it to end tho.

Wasn't what I expected but honestly, it's so sick. Very grateful for Colson and Mod and anybody else who worked on it, because no matter what I've written above about not liking or understanding certain parts I did love it. It's a crime we haven't got to see these songs performed in person yet.

Nonetheless, if Shouto’s stare was focused on the succession of bright lights radiating off of the TV, yours was laying on the personification of your source of happiness— your boyfriend himself. After all, wasn’t staring at him way more interesting than some documentary being played? Nothing could compare to some well-deserved ‘staring at Shouto session’, but said sessions came with the slight danger of being caught, oh well…

« Love, I believe you’re doing it again. » Shouto blurted out which made you unconsciously flinch in response.

« Doing what exactly, mhm? » Oh, the fake tone of innocence could have been heard from miles away, and it sure as hell didn’t go unknown under Shouto’s radar.

« You know what I’m hinting at— staring. » But this time, it was his turn to stare at you, it was a mutual game now.

« You’re saying that as if staring at you was illegal, I mean, looking this hot should totally be considered illegal. » Shouto’s blood rushed under your newly left comment, causing his cheeks to adopt a rosy tone.

« Y/N, I’m a pro-hero, I’m not quite sure I can be considered as a villain… Is looking a certain way truly illegal? Should I change something about my appearance? » His heterochromatic eyes found yours, and a certain desire for reassurance chimed in the way.

« Shouto, baby— of course not! You’re perfect the way you are, I was only messing around, you know? » His desire for reassurance fades away and instead, you are met with a gleam of content as you continue :

« What I meant to say was… You’re so handsome, so out of this world… » Each word leaving your lips and connecting to his eardrums was accompanied with the fitting gestures to emphasize just a bit more the comforting undertone of your speech. It all began with a swift shift of position— you were now sitting on Shouto’s lap, a crucial position which guaranteed you the upper hand of physical exchanges.

« You’re divine, Shouto… » The longer your eyes met his, the more you were secretly convinced that he was indeed out of this world, thus, you underlined this statement by tracing an invisible line from the corner of his lips to his jawline under his intrigued facial expression. An intrigued expression, perhaps, but he was begging to hear more.

« You’re have all the qualities one could dream of, don’t you? » This rhetorical question was signed with the manifestation of the presence of your lips upon the flesh of his neck, Shouto let out a gasp he ignored he was holding and tilted his head to give you more room to play with as an answer, longing for the next lines of your tirade. Instead, the soft pressures left by the pecks were replaced with biting motions, and interchanged with sucking motions at times. This newfound balance of pleasure on Shouto’s newly bruised skin was the cause of a chain reaction— first, his lips parted as if he was gasping for oxygen, he didn’t need it, it was more like a precautious deed than a clear remedy to something he needed; then, his lids closed shut, in anticipation of the bliss which was bound to course every inch of his body; eventually, a deadly sin named gluttony got the best of him and encouraged him to let his palms wander on your derrière. A bold action quickly reprimanded by a quick slapping motions on the back of his hands.

« No touching, got it? Keep your hands to yourself and maybe, just maybe I’ll reward you. » A sentence so embedded with delicious sin which became amplified under the spell of your whispers, right against the shell of his ears. There was no vocal response on his end, only a line of chills from the back of his neck to the bottom of his spine, sure, it wasn’t vocal, but it was such a sweet way to respond to the temptation.

This comment would be stating the obvious but you had the monopoly of the game, you controlled the fate of the protagonists and bent the rules your way— some would call it cheating, you’d call it having the world at your feet. An adventurous hand traveled underneath the fabric of Shouto’s shirt and, on its journey, felt the various kinds of reliefs sculpted on his body. The rock hard sensation of his abdomen against the soft flesh of your palm was one of the sweetest contrasts. Your hand followed a vertical path— first, a journey near his pectoral muscles, and a tragic fall to his growing bulge right beneath you, you couldn’t help but bow your lips into a grin which echoed to a thousand of hidden desires and beyond while Todoroki looked at you with pleading eyes.

« Aren’t you such a good boy to me? You did as I said, baby, keep going for me, yeah? » Shouto knew that the way you would pronounce each individual word was a hint to what was bound to happen, and the precise manner you moaned « good boy » near his eardrum was just a mere indicator amongst a myriad of them that you would not give up on your iron hold any time soon. Your lips eventually met his once more in a heated exchange, the advantage of the height played in your favor to assert dominance and set the done of the secret ballet between your tongues. Meanwhile, your palm was dangerously stroking the oh so growing bulge in Shouto’s underwear— and when your tongue would twist in a clockwise direction, your hand would do the opposite and vice-versa.

Shouto could feel you through all his senses— and although his lids were shut closed, this couldn’t prevent him from picturing your frame towering over him, he would always remember everything about you, even the most trivial details anyway. The gluttony in him cursed at him and screamed to touch you, but he knew better than to fall under the spell of his temptations. If he couldn’t manifest his pleasure physically, he could still do it orally— and thus a silent melody resonated in your mouth at the contact of your tongue with his. Said melody ended in the crescendo of the volume of his uneven breaths after breaking your kiss due to the lack of oxygen.

Summary: You randomly discover Tsukishima’s knack for dancing.

You always saw him as a calm, or sly person. He was witty, mean, sarcastic, an asshole in every way possible. He was that one person that would call everyone out for looking stupid while dancing at a party, or the one that would remind couples on Valentine's day that it was to celebrate the death of a tortured and beheaded saint. He was pretty much the most no-bullshit person you’ve ever met. It was as if he simply didn’t understand the meaning of enjoyment, and thrived to seek out every opportunity to ruin it for others as well. He rarely went to social events, never showed up at parties, and you don’t think you’ve ever seen him smile genuinely. Ever. 

Yet tonight, you witnessed something you never thought would happen.

You see, every night, you would take a good old stroll around your neighbourhood. Tonight was no different, except it was pouring, the constant pitter patter of your umbrella clouding out any other sound that was coherent. Sometimes you might run into street vendors, other times you would get a bowl of ramen to fulfil your midnight hunger.

Walking along the street to your favourite convenience store, instead of an eerily empty park, what you saw was Tsukishima Kei, the one person you were somehow close to, sitting in a park, with no headphones on. What a shocker.

Ever since you gave him those iconic white headphones, he has never gone anywhere without them. It was as if those headphones were a staple of your friendship, or more so, how much he meant to you. Just saying, those things were expensive. Like eighteen thousand yen expensive. You knew how much Tsukishima enjoyed listening to music, especially whilst doing work. You saved up for months, just to scrape together enough money to get him a brand new pair of headphones to replace his broken ones that only worked in one ear and had shitty quality. You would never admit it, but something in your heart clenched at the sight of the absence of those headphones you spent so much on. Many might have thought you were just sensitive, but they didn’t understand. In fact, no one would understand how insanely in love you were with him. 

“Hey, beanstalk.”

The blond looked up from his phone, his legs crossed on the bench.

“Well, would you look who’s here. It’s the infamous shorty.”

You approached his hunched-over figure, taking a seat next to him on the bench. “So, why are you here? It’s pretty late already.” Shoving your earphones into your ear, you hastily scrolled through your playlist, trying to hold off the urge to ask where his headphones were. “Lost my umbrella while going home from practise, it’s raining cats and dogs, I’m not looking to get soaked while going home, so I’m waiting for the rain to stop. Thank God I brought an extra sweater, my uniform is all wet and gross.” Chuckling, you punched him playfully, muttering a quick “Idiot,” before picking a song. You were very low-key about your feelings towards him. God knows how he would react if you ever told him. He would probably ignore you for the rest of your high school lives. Even worse, he might make fun of you for being childish and emotional. Just the thought of it sent shivers up your spine and a dark feeling towards your chest. Shaking your head, you tried your best to drown yourself in the terrifyingly loud music that was blasting through your earphones. From next to you, Tsukishima could hear every single note that was playing from the internal speakers. He scooted closer to you, much to your embarrassment. You grabbed your phone, pretending to scroll through it when in reality, you were just trying to hide the burning blush that was now painted on your cheeks. He paid attention to every little sound that came out of those tiny little earbuds, as if trying to figure out what song you were listening to was a fun game. Noticing the sudden absence of music in your left ear, you heard a tiny, almost breathy chuckle, followed by a pull on the earphone jack. “Pulp, hm? Nice taste you got there.” your eyes widened in surprise, mouth curling up into a wide smile. “Ahhh, never thought the great Tsukishima Kei would know them.” The blond smirked, shoving the rubber tip into his ear. “What do you mean? I have a playlist dedicated to this kind of stuff. 80s music will forever be superior.” You rolled your eyes, not falling for his shit. “Nonono, no way. Hand it over, I need to see for myself. I’m convinced you’re listening to raptor mating calls on a daily basis.” The blond shrugged, dropping his phone onto your lap. “See for yourself.” Opening up his Spotify, you were bombarded with a huge selection of his playlists. “Right there shorty, that’s the one you’re looking for?” Pointing his nimble finger at a specific one that was labeled “Old Stuff,” you scrolled through every single song, not believing what you’re seeing. “Holy shit, and I thought you would be into indie or EDM or something like that. This is some new information that I have to process.” Snatching his phone back, he wiped the screen with his sweater, turning it off. “That’s enough snooping for today. Come back at snooping hours again.”

It was at that moment, did the song decide to change. 

“Yeah, no. We’re skipping this shit.” You acted sad, fake pouting and huffing out. “But Tsukishima! All Star is God’s work, you can’t just skip it! Here, I’ll sing it for you!” The blond tried to look at you in disgust, but the smile he was holding back was clear as day, biting his lip as he tried not to laugh at your silly antics. “Oh God (Y/N) please no-” 

Too late.

“SomeBODY ONCE TOLD ME THE WORRRLD WAS GONNA ROLL ME, I AIN’T THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHEDDDD.”

“Absolutely not.” Laughing softly, Tsukishima managed to heave out.

Grabbing your phone and shoving it in front of your face, he unlocked it with ease, navigating his way through the five pages of otome games to find your Spotify. “Jesus Christ, never knew you were this desperate for a man.” The tips of his ears were red, one thought circling his mind. 

If she really wanted a boyfriend, would she pick him? 

Grabbing his arm, you begged for him to let you continue jamming to All Star. You were shaking him, trying to grab your phone, but nothing worked. “Nooo! Kei! Nooooo lemme listen to the Shrek sex anthem!” 

“No.” 

Scrolling through your usual playlist, his eyes landed on one particular song. “Hm? What’s this? You listen to Icehouse? Nice taste you got there.” Your grip on his arm loosened up as you looked up at him in shock. “You know them too! Yes! They’re very much adequate.” You stared in awe as the blond smiled from ear to ear, picking a song much to your dismay. “Yesss I love this song with my whole heart. My dinosaurs make way for this.” Hearing the similar synth, you instantly knew what he had picked. “Seriously? You like this song? It’s like cheesy as shit! This is so out of character for you oh my God Kei.” Tsukishima rolled his eyes, completely done with you. “It’s a good song, don’t come at me. Plus, if you think it’s so cheesy, then just delete it.” You frowned. You liked that it was cheesy. You always imagined someone singing it to you, most of the time this imaginary person being Tsukishima. “I like this song too, it’s fine.” The two of you sat in comfortable silence, your earphone jack being the only thing connecting you guys. The park felt weird. You felt weird. This whole situation was weirdly unreal. It was as if the two of you were stuck in a parallel universe, where you and Tsukishima were the only people that existed in that timeline. The silence was thick in the starry night sky, the streetlamps occasionally flickering as the song continued to play. Humming along to the addicting tune, you don’t even realise your body that’s starting to rock, arms swaying from side to side to the rhythm of the chorus. 

“We can get together,“

“Get up.”

A hand comes into your sight, willing for you to take it as you feel another tug on your earphones.

“What?”

“You wanna dance, don’t you?”

Never in a million years, would the thought of Tsukishima being able to dance even cross your mind.

 “What? It’s raining, I thought you said you didn’t wanna get soaked-”

“Just take my hand and dance with me.”

Hesitating a bit as you looked up at the blond, you raised a brow, grinning playfully as you let your hand fall into his, pulling yourself up and letting him take your other hand. You felt the cold droplets of water fall onto your skin and rolling off, the fabric of your shirt going damp.

“Just take one step forward,” he instructed, motioning for you to follow along with his dance moves. “Then take another step backwards. Everything else will come into place soon enough.” Lacing your fingers with his, the two of you danced in perfect sync, having the time of your lives. “I am learning so, so much about you right now and I’m all for it. Why’d you never tell me you could dance?” Tsukishima’s cheeks went a light pink, looking away bashfully. “It’s embarrassing.” Chuckling, you twirled yourself around, pulling on his arm as you forced his attention back onto you. “It’s not. I think it’s super cool. Do this with a girl and they’ll be head over heels for you in no time.” You mentally facepalmed yourself for saying that. His blush went from a light pink, to a dark red in no time, saturating his cheeks like paint. “Let’s test that theory out.” Mumbling to himself, he continued to guide you, twirling you around and hoisting you up at times.

“Baby we can get together, we can get together.”

The two of you were just jamming along now, not caring about your wet hair and soaked clothes. Tsukishima’s hair was now a damp mess, sticking to his forehead as he whipped his head from side to side, laughing as water droplets flew off his blond strands. Your hair was no better than his, (H/C) strands reflecting the light from the streetlamps as they hit your face with every sway of your head. The earphones were falling off at this point, but it didn’t matter. The two of you already memorised the entire song beforehand. All you wanted was to enjoy the short moment. Grabbing his wet hand again, you randomly started jumping to the beat, letting the blond follow along.

“Later sometime, you can buckle my shoes, you can pick up my sticks, why don't you open that door.”

You gasped in surprise as you felt a large hand spin you around one last time, before dipping you dangerously close to the floor, rainwater rolling off your face. The song came to an end with its final guitar chord, the reverb still ringing in the background. “So, what’d you think?” Tsukishima leaned down, his face dangerously close to yours. Feeling a Cheshire grin form on your face as your tried to raise your head up, you gave his nose a boop with your own, before falling back onto his hand. “That was amazing.” Giving you a cheeky grin, you could feel his breath on your face as he sighed contentedly. His breath smelled like mints, you couldn’t help but wonder how lips would taste too. “You good now, or do you wanna go home? I think the rain just stopped.

Still in that intimate position, you decided to finally ask him.

“Where are the headphones?”

“I didn’t want to get them wet, they’re too important to me. They’re in my bag.”

And that’s when your body decided to act on its own.

Your mind couldn’t even register what you were doing as you pressed a long, soft kiss on Tsukishima’s lips, feeling the heat radiating off of him.

“Now I’m good. Wanna go home?”

“Did you just-”

“Yes.”

Pushing you back up to a comfortable position, he stared at you for another ten seconds, face burning crimson as his mouth opened and shut repeatedly, trying to process what you just did. Finally snapping out of his thoughts, he awkwardly leaned towards you, before pulling himself back. After doing that a few times over, you were properly confused. Grabbing your shoulders, he pressed a firm kiss to your forehead, before grabbing his bag from the bench he was sitting on, pulling his headphones out and hanging them on his neck, handing you the earphones.

“Wanna do this again tomorrow shorty?”

“11pm sharp, don’t be late, and I expect another kiss.”

“Whatever you say cutie.”

I'm rather curious about your opinions on how to train a dragon 2 and 3. Could you maybe elaborate why you don't like them? Which character was mistreated? If you like to, of course.

Hiii :D So as a preamble, I don’t hate them, really, and they both still made me cry when I watched it so it’s not that they’re bad, it’s just that I was disappointed by some things? And that I think there were things they could’ve handled better, but then again, that’s just my opinion and I’ve watched a lot of video essays about them and also know that a lot of people really love them, so ... yeah :’) Also I haven’t seen httyd2 since it came out in cinemas so :’D It’s been a while, and my thoughts aren’t very well-sorted on the subject, this is probably going to be kinda vague and rambly, I’m sorry

I think they work very well as a trilogy, I guess I’m just mostly annoyed by the way they wrote the sidekick characters in the second and third one, and also the light fury, specifically how everything always in any movie needs a love interest, even if it’s a dragon, so that’s less something against the film and more against hollywood in general, I guess. Even if in this case it was more to save the species and as a plot device to separate Hiccup from toothless... but when the trailers came out, I was still Very Annoyed xD.

So my first complaint is that whole one-sided flirting between Snotlout and Hiccup’s mom stuff in the second movie... idk, I hate it soo much XD I know it’s all done for gags but I guess it’s just not my kind of humor? At all? The secondhand embarrassment type of humor is very much not something I find funny, ever, so maybe that plays into it x’D I’m probably wrong on this but at least when I watched it, I didn’t think it was very in character for snotlout, either. Hm, idk

And in general, maybe I’m wrong but I thiiink Snotloud, Fishlegs, Tuffnut and Ruffnut had (at least some) more character depth In the first film? Like, they were dumb and funny there, too, but not that criminally-just-for-the-gags dumb (that annoyed me big time in the third one, where Tuffnut is just so dumb that she leads the bad guys back home. even if the part before that was funny, ahhh idk). But maybe I’m imagining that, too, it’s been a while since I rewatched the first one x’D

... and to be honest what Most annoys me about httyd 3 is the light fury design, on principle XD In theory I love shiny and glittery things! I have a lot of shiny and glittery things, I love them, they’re fantastic!! I just don’t like her design at all. Why did it have to be so smooth and rounded and aggressively female and also glittery in every way?? Why doesn’t she get cool scale patterns and these horn thingies that toothless has on his head?? It Annoys Me.

I attended an animation/VFX conference shortly after that film had come out where some of the people behind from dreamworks talked about her design and the animation and such and hhhh 

.. the things they said were really cool, like how they wanted her to look wild and untamed etc, and be more wild-cat where toothless is a cat/dog mix (that’s another thing, I feel like toothless was pretty much mostly cat in the first one and after that got dumber and dumber in every subsequent one and ... I don’t like that). Problem with the things they said was, I don’t think her final design looks wild or untamed at all XD It just looks shiny and rounded. And all the designs they had before the final one were so much cooler!! (But then again, that’s just a personal preference thing? hmm)

And as I said, the film still made me cry and it still works. They’re not bad films, really. They just make a lot of creative choices that I didn’t like very much :’)

I have to say, though, that I love the visuals of the third one, it’s sooo prettyyyyy, and that underground world??? AHHHHHHHHH I’m actively thinking of buying it just for that aspect XD (I didn’t get to see it in cinemas because when it came out I was writing my bachelor’s thesis and had too much to do and forgot, so I ended up watching it on an 11-hour flight, which .. well, airplane film screens are very small and very low quality XD)

this got very long and very rambly and I’m sorry, I’m not even sure if it makes sense, I guess it’s a personal preference thing and I understand all the arguments why the three films are great, I’m just also a bit salty about some aspects and love the first one while some stuff about the others makes me Angy XD

Ask Meme Part 2: LQ-ler

My faviest fave who I ever faved!! Low Quality Once-ler! Lets do this.

Why I like them: More like, why I LOVE them okay? Uh…where do I begin. I think his initial and prevailing appeal was his aesthetic. I love old technology, low quality footage, foggy audio and static. I love the sound of a VCR’s mechanics turning. And the reason for all of this is suitingly, nostalgia. Which is what LQ is all about. He’s so carefully thought up and his themes fit together so nicely. His concept had me hooked from the start; a Once-ler who comes from lowquality footage of the movie. But then it just gets even deeper and examines the regrets of a Once-ler and a character that knew about his fate and destiny from the start and it’s just so fucking fascinating and well thought out. LQ himself has this charm to his personality and he’s positively endearing and adorable it’s not hard to understand why so many people flocked to him and showed him love. But if he was just that and that alone it would make for a flat character. LQ has other sides to himself that come out from time to time and it becomes obvious that in some cases he’s putting up a façade. He tends to brush the fact that he’s upset or angry under the rug to keep up his image and it’s something that anyone reading can really understand. It’s a great study of identity and how adults present themselves to each other in the business world and just generally to the public and how sometimes we aren’t really true to ourselves because we don’t like things about ourselves. I know this got super analytical so im going to go back to his characterization for a sec. He is such a lively person. Each gesture and reply and his eccentricity are wonderful to witness. I love his design a LOT. Those big grey-blue eyes with the long lashes and his glasses and his messy brown hair. He has a really unique look to him. He’s a good guy and I’d love to talk with him about old tech and stuff. He comes off as caring a lot about other people and Im sure he wants the best for others.

     Why I don’t: He has made some really dumb mistakes and been so self destructive that he has impacted those around him. He needs to practice true self love beyond any sort of merits he has and just believe that he can do good things even if he’s done bad things in the past. He’s really REALLY got to stop beating himself up. It’s okay for him to make mistakes in the past but he’s got to seek improvement and any time that he does you can feel really happy for him. He’s come a long way but he’s got some ways to go and can’t give up just yet.

Favorite episode (scene if movie): Probably when HQ first showed up. That whole part had me screaming. Actually, I have a LOT of favorite scenes and chapters from his blog. Type louder and his drawing party are some old favorites. The buildup to the GRAND reveal and LQ’s valley times are also incredibly great and Swone’s visit was hilarious and sweet. I also love the more recent chapters where LQ continues to have conflict with HQ and we some other sides of him.

Favorite season/movie: Ahhh…it’s hard to pick one. I love his entire blog :” ) I already talked about a lot of stuff it’s hard sjkgslsddsh I’d just sit here and list everything LOL but if I had to pick one both the events leading up to the GRAND REVEAL and HQ showing up.

Favorite line(s): “Even though the tag might say “low-quality”, I think that those old gifs had their own charm to them. Nostalgia, if you will. “ “Honesty is the best policy, after all.” “I AM N-NOT A BUTT P-PERVERT!!!!!!!!!!!”

Favorite outfit: I’m honestly a sucker for his business suit and bandaged arms(though, poor LQ for being so badly injured). I also really love his thneed and that REDICULOUS cape he had from his business times.

OTP: LQxHQ. Gotta have that self love, amiright? It’s a really good exploration of LQ’s relationship with himself and HQ is frankly hilarious. I know it isn’t the healthiest for LQ but im hoping things can improve for him in the future. Also, Bawstin-luh or Brandon O’ Shea from the the Thneedville High AU because LQ and Brandon are just really happy together :” ) Brotp: LQ and Swone. And my guilty pleasure: LQ and Swone and Onag. I always did want to see those two meet. Also LQ and Thneednight, LQ and Corv and LQ and Winter when they finally work things out a bit heh. While we’re on the topic of folks I wish LQ could have met I just gotta say…Cheap. Thrift buddies. Just picture it. Cheap had a chance to meet LQ by punching him in the face for 10 whole dollars but he PASSED IT UP!! For SHAME, Cheap. (To be fair IDK if they’d get along well haha)

Head Canon: At one point in the blog it’s mentioned that LQ used to watch the 1972 TV special and he said his Mom caught him watching it and turned it off. I think that she turned it off during the Once-ler’s successful points and before he chopped the last tree. Since then, LQ has never watched past that point on the VHS tape and in his youth it gave him only positive ideas about being a Once-ler and impacted him a lot in the long run. It’s kind of ironic because his Mom tried to discourage him but only really made him more interested.

Unpopular opinion: Y’all probably don’t want to face this fact, but LQ can be really nasty and temperamental sometimes. He’s spoken outright insults at people when he’s speaking honestly so he’s not purely “an innocent and sweet uwu baby” . He’s also very introspective and intelligent though he’s made a number of stupid descisions. Some things he’s said and thought are downright philosophical. That being said, those aspects make me like him even more as a character.

A wish: I want to see LQ continue to improve and move on in his life. He might need to break the mold he’s in to make that happen but he’s already established that he’s been doing things his own way so it’s not hard to imagine. It’s hard to move on but I believe in him.

thoughts about the new crazy ex-GF ep?

okay anon. i had to watch the episode a few times to be able to answer this because – as is the case with most ceg episodes – there’s so much! you really have to let yourself sit with each moment to get everything there is to get out of them, you know what i mean?and also? one of the cool things about this show is that episodes don’t feel complete on their own? during one of my rewatches i was struck with how what i was watching felt very much like a chapter in a larger story. we’re missing so much context and i’m sure that stuff we will view a month from now will shed new light on these first couple episodes.

but enough stalling! my inevitably long-winded thoughts below the cut:

paula: we don’t see very much of paula in this episode, but the scenes we do get are so quietly amazing. for example, in the beginning scene with rebecca, she’s so steadfast and draws some solid boundaries about how low she’s willing to stoop for rebecca’s revenge. she’s grown so much since her blind commitment to s1 shenanigans, and this scene really highlighted that development. the shine of getting the daughter figure she’s always wanted has worn off, and now paula’s acting like a much healthier model of a parent, which is great for all involved.

also – the scene at the end with her and tim !! of course the dialogue was amazing and paula’s ‘here’s another disinterested, scathing observation that’ll change the way you think about your entire life’ was hilarious and clever. but what i really loved about the scene was paula studying? i don’t know if i could even really articulate why, but it felt so incredibly refreshing to check in with her working hard toward her goals. she seems so grounded and focused and i’m really happy for her.

tim’s stroyline: of which maya was the hero. i’m totally biased, but maya’s every line and facial expression was amazing (can we talk about how happy she was when paula was like ‘you have never ever ever given your wife and orgasm’? also ‘I DON’T PURCHASE PERIODICALS THAT ENGAGE IN BODY SHAMING’ I LOVE HER SO MUCH) 

*ehem* anyway…it was the perfect balance of funny, light, and educational. it made a great c-plot (c- or b-plot? i’m not really sure if tim or josh got more of the focus. in either case, my point stands) because there wasn’t a whole lot to chew on, but it still amused. plus, it was really great to see mrs. hernandez and maya helping tim out in a really open and non-judgmental way. no matter if they were doing it for him or for a fellow woman who wasn’t orgasming, it was great to see them all working together.

george: he’s baaaaaack! and everyone seems to be remembering his name! good for him, i bet that does wonders for his self-esteem. i wonder, though, if he’ll stick around past the chae won assignment nathaniel hired him for (are we already past that? i know george was in the promo pictures for 3.03 so who knows if that’s going to come up again.)

josh: first of all, rounds upon rounds upon rounds of applause for ‘i’ve got my head in the clouds.’ it stood out in an episode of excellent musical numbers (by the way, i was totally worried when cast members started alluding to the fact that there’d be more music per episode this season because fucking glee’s quality tanked when they did the same thing, but i should have known better than to compare ceg to that shit show. the music was all so good and never detracted from the story…and now that i’m typing this i had a realization that i’ll bring up when we get to the rebecca section of my thoughts ahhh!)

ANYWAY. all the bits about josh not really understanding the basic tenets of his own religion were funny and they all landed, but? idk, they also bummed me out. religion is such a huge thing in josh’s life, and it’s in character for him to not get in too deep to the meanings and practices and whatnot. but still. i like josh and i understand that his Thing is that he’s not big on self-reflection and is therefore in a state of arrested development – which is why him and rebecca bring out the most childlike behavior in each other. but i need it to go somewhere new, you know? 

i feel like everyone has a pretty clear picture of what moving forward and growing looks like for rebecca, but what would it be for josh? it’s something i’ve been thinking about since i saw the episode but don’t really have an answer for yet…drop me an ask if you have any ideas of your own!

nathaniel: him and rebecca made out and had sex and he tucked her hair behind her ear and sfkbslndgg

whew! sorry, the shipper in me can’t resist geeking out about that shit. on a more serious note, i’m really looking forward to the continuation of nathaniel’s struggle to fit into his own picture of (toxic - toxic as all hell) masculinity while also dealing with the fact that his feelings for rebecca have opened up a vulnerable, soft side of him that he really doesn’t know what to do with. i’m also looking forward to dealing with the fallout of his overcompensation to be masculine this episode. (he was gonna have a man killed wtf!!!) but because this episode felt very much like the beginning of the journey, i don’t have much else to say on the subject but BRING IT ON.

rebecca motherfuckin bunch: HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL she went through a lot this episode. and, like, all in the span of the last 15 minutes. that last song is a masterpiece that i have yet to fully come to grips with. because like? rebecca’s in her wedding dress and josh is in his would-be wedding suit and she’s fucking aggressively chasing him down the aisle (hello metaphor for the entire show !!!) and then she gets to storm off. and it is both the most empowering and most unnerving and emotionally raw scene i’ve ever watched. like….FUCK.

what a perfect use of a reprise, right? because, like paula’s initial rendition, there’s so much self-denial going on. the characters are both trying to dress up their unacceptable behavior in such a way that excuses them of contrition. paula wasn’t being fair to rebecca with her sentiments in ‘after everything i’ve done for you’ and rebecca’s not being fair to josh in ‘after everything you made me do’

(i want to say, though, that paula’s version was almost like her rock bottom. with the help of darryl she rises above her perceived high ground, admits that she was in the wrong, and then, a couple episodes later [2.02], steps away entirely from the scheming that put her in the position to do all those terrible things in the first place. i’m hoping against hope that ‘everything you made me do’ will have a similar function for rebecca)

but despite the fact that she’s dressing up her actions in a way that blames josh for her behavior, rebecca’s coming! clean! about! all! the! shit! she! did!!!!!! and that really excites me. all that dirty laundry is out there now. there’s no turning back from this – rebecca has to confront that she hasn’t behaved in an acceptable way. and where can she go from there? THERE’S AN ENTIRE SEASON OF ROCK BOTTOMS TO HIT I’M SURE OF IT. but this still feels like a turning point.

now i’m gonna talk about the promo for next week’s episode and the revelation i had, like, ten paragraphs ago. so, it looks like rebecca’s gonna spend the next episode locked in a downward spiral with her younger self. so far, her younger self has remained fairly contained to musical numbers, flashbacks, and conversations with only rebecca. but the fact that she’s coming out to follow rebecca around in her day-to-day life is a clear sign that adult rebecca’s mental state is worsening. and you know what? THE INCREASED NUMBER OF SONGS IS ALSO EVIDENCE OF THIS I CAN’T BELIEVE IT TOOK ME THIS LONG TO PUT IT TOGETHER kajdfbnsdgb

I will try to be really objective about this because I don’t support it but at the same time I do ahjkfdg and i do agree with what you just said anon. Ok be ready because i may ramble a lot and i apologize for that 🙈

Let’s start with the positive things that may come about ‘boycotting’ Kenta’s supposed fanmeeting (yes, it is a supposed fanmeeting because although Star Road announced it can’t be sure when will it happen or if it’s official) It will indeed send a stronger message to kenta telling him to get out of the company and find one that would treat him a lot better and will make him succeed. It can make Kenta realize how does the korean entertainment really works as him being japanese may be a bit hard?? (that’s my point of view) I say this because he may be easily manipulated and controlled which I would hate as Kenta will become the company’s doll and that’s not how is supposed to be at all. Kenta should be the one making the decisions while the company supports him. Kenta has little possibilities of debuting this time because the company doesn’t have trainees (only 2 including Kenta) so how much would we have to wait? And if he does debut with Star Road, he may only have a temporary success as the company doesn’t have much to fully support him. Besides, Star Road is a really small company which means that they don’t have any songwriters, producers, trainees, etc. Many people have been saying that the song quality that Star Road produces is really low quality and that may be the reason why they can’t go on broadcast?? (idk about this so please correct me if i’m wrong) And as you all know Kenta is an all-rounded and talented guy a Gem™ that deserves to succeed no matter what so getting him out of Star Road is the best option imo.

This is about P101 and how Star Road didn’t really do much for Kenta. There has been an image going around Twitter that stated how Kenta was practicing the KOREAN version of “Sayonara Hitori” (by Taemin) but CJ E&M asked for the JAPANESE version 2 weeks before airing (source) and at the end Kenta’s performance wasn’t even aired when CJ told them to do the Japanese ver. and Star Road didn’t do anything about it and I’m really mad at that. Did you guys all notice that lack of screen time Kenta had throughout all the episodes on P101? Well, everyone blamed the PD about this but it’s really not his fault at all when the company (Star Road) should’ve asked for it but guess they didn’t as well ://

Now to the negative things about boycotting the fanmeeting. As you said anon, Kenta may feel really down and sad about it thinking no one supports him and I agree with that 100%. Having no one attend to the fanmeeting would make him feel terrible and it would be really disheartening for him maybe even leading him to not wanting to be an idol anymore and maybe going back to japan (worst-case scenario) i don’t want to sound rude so i apologize if i do, but Kenta may also realize the real reason why people are trying to boycott it or maybe not and he would open his eyes and see the reality that is surrounding him. But i’m not Kenta so I don’t really know how he may feel at all. Also when people started the boycott issue, i didn’t realize that people were really serious about not attending, I thought that maybe they could attend to it and tell Kenta everything about it with the staff being there and all?? so they realize how terrible and poor the management and company is in general managing the artists and let Kenta end his contract so he can join a better company ://

This is getting so long ahhh why do i talk so much please forgive me, but i just wanted to end things by saying that at the end, is all Kenta’s decisions and we can’t really do much about them. We can try and help him as best as we can but if he decides and wants to stay with Star Road that’s his decision and we should be here supporting him no matter what and I would always wish him the best~

His personal skill is Collector, which is super neat because hey! free stuff! :D He also has Seal Magic which could be good with his terrible less than stellar Resistance, and Good Fortune, which restores up to 20% HP EACH TURN, well.... based on his luck stat, which is..... pretty bad lmao- maybe he has a really good Luck stat growth idk (I peeked at the output file after having played the chapter and his stat growths are HP = 15, Str = 30, Mag = 35, Skill = 50, Spd = 25, Lck = 50, Def = 20, Res = 40, so yeah, pretty decent barring HP and Def haha;;;) But LOOK AT THAT STRENGTH HE’S A BEAST AND A C RANK IN SPEARS THAT’S FANTASTIC UGH- Kaze........ my man, I can’t wait to see what you can Heart Seal into it could probably be really cool, or..... pretty bad, idk anything could happen with this randomiser
