Oh man.

Now that I’ve started mending the cub rub in my pants, I feel like it’ll never end!

I’ve already had to mend 2 of my pants again, and a third that I need to med for the first time.

At least it only takes about an hour to do the initial mend, and adding squares for some structural stability.

But I’m disheartened that they only last about a week before I have to patch again :(

I’m sure it’s because 1)I’m fat, 2) I sweat a LOT (which is hard on my clothes), and 3) I work a VERY physical job where I’m walking and bending almost constantly.

At least these pants are staying out of the waste stream. Which is a win!

But I’m gonna research how to make mends last longer, because it’s getting a bit ridiculous at this point.

Unless anyone has any suggestions?

Akashi and Midorima dated during their second and the beginning of their third year at Teiko. It ended as bad as you think. Akashi will never forgive himself for it. Midorima says everything happens for a reason, so it’s fine.

Rough Riding (10/31)

“The texts made this look easier,” one of their captors muttered.

“The texts – you’ve never flown a shuttle?” Una took back every compliment about their competence. If word got around, she and Chris were never living this kidnapping down. “Never mind,” she motioned with the phaser. “Move. If you want to survive this storm, stay out of my way.”

The kidnappers obediently shuffled to the copilot station. Something about this wasn’t adding up, but she’d worry about that once the immediate danger was over.

Glancing over what readouts remained, her heart sunk.

“Strap in. And hope for a gentle crash.”

I think how Zeke gets a cat is that two years after he gets out of prison, he goes with Jade to an animal shelter one night after he's got an apartment and the job obviously. Jade is dropping something off to her girlfriend who's volunteering at the time and Zeke is just hanging around, checking things out. Most dogs correctly do not recognize him as human, and are relatively wary of him, even going so far as to act aggressively when he passes by, but cats seem relatively unconcerned with his presence.

Zeke himself has a better understanding of cats anyways as they are often used as pest control around the commune from which he hails. Not exactly pets, but a familiar sight indeed. Curious and bored, he goes into the cat room just to see what happens, only to find the door blocked by something.

Jade's girlfriend notices, and hurries over, rolling her eyes and immediately wriggling her way inside to grab a large grey and white furball of a cat that had been just laying in front of the door. She sets it down in the middle of the room where it resumes its rug-like behavior and she tells Zeke that the cat 'Fluffy' has a habit of doing that, almost on purpose, always finding a way to be in the exact spot to cause the most grief. Her lazy and aloof behavior, along with the fact that she killed her previous owner's parakeets, has led her to be placed here, and often overlooked for more affectionate, less malicious cats. Indeed, as she explains the sad tale, the other cats have begun congregating around Jade's girlfriend and watching Zeke with a modicum of interest while Fluffy continues her impression of discarded duster.

When Jade's girlfriend leaves him to his poking around, Zeke immediately ignores the other felines and approaches Fluffy. He blinks down at her. She blinks back with hazel eyes before rolling over and exposing her belly to which he takes the invitation and gives her a pat, stating that Fluffy ain't the best name and its a damn shame thats what they call her. The cat purrs, though whether in agreement or just in an effort to get more attention is up in the air.

Two weeks and one befuddled manager's girlfriend later, the newly renamed Randy Johnson is lounging on Zeke's living room window ledge to watch the sparrows and the squirrels and plop herself in front of doors and on top of Zeke to her heart's content.
