Do you have any favorite shippings in Yu-Gi-Oh!? I see you have favorite characters, but I can't find anything about shippings.

hiya! idk why i never put my fave ships down. i remember when i was going to, but i never did.

well, that being said i ship a lot of things so like... yeah. i think it's bc i don't wanna name everything i ship but idk. i can't really remember the reason why. but i can tell you some of my ships! i'll just name some from each series.

dm: deathshipping (yami marik x ryou bakura), chaseshipping (tristain taylor/hiroto honda x duke devlin/ryuji otogi), puzzleshipping/blindshipping (yami yugi/atem x yugi), puppyshipping (joey wheeler/katsuya jounouchi x seto kaiba), and of course theifshipping bc they're basically canon. i also enjoy anzu/miho too... bc miho deserves love. again, this isn't all of my ships, if you're curious i'm like... hella into deathshipping LMAO.

gx: rivialshipping gx (jaden/judai x chazz/jun), idolshipping (fubuki/atticus x zane/ryo), kenzan/shou, jim/jun, medici/samejima, johan/edo. i love johan/edo so much, i loved them for YEARS. since i was a child. jim/jun is one of my new fave ships, i think they would be funny and cute <3. idolshipping on top (imo), i loooove fubuki/ryo, i want them to be HAPPY.

5ds: crow/aki, yusei/aki, jack/carly, yusei/kiryu, yusei/bruno, harald/brave/dragan. when i was younger i was super into bruno/kiryu but not so much now. i think they're still cute! but i'm not as into them as now. i swear to god i had more 5ds pairings but i haven't seen it in a bit so my mind is a bit hazy. carly/misty lived in my mind rent free when i was a kid too. i thought they were great. again, i can't think of anything lmao.

zexal: HELLSHARK, i fucking love hellshark. they've been my fave since i was a child and god they make me insane. yuma/astral, mizael/durbe, rio/kotori, iii/gilag, v/kaito, alito/vector. i love ewjhfbwe yuma/astral, they make me wanna cryyyy. and and wejhfbwe mizael/durbe??? I LOVE THEM, but damn hellshark makes me so fucking insane (iv/ryoga)

arc-v: reiji/yuya, yugo/rin, yuto/shun, yuzu/masumi, dennis/yuri, yuto/ruri, dennis/shun, shun/kaito, sawatari/gongenzaka, yuya/sawatari, reiji/sawatari, reiji/yuya/sawatari, crow/shinji, wjehfbwe. i'm super mentally ill abt dennyuri + reiji/yuya JHBWEFBHWE. and in general, shun ships too. like i love shun so much wejhfwe. yuzu/masumi was actually my first arc-v ship!!! so they're still very dear to me <3 <3.

crossover: the ONLY one i'm not embarrassed abt sharing is bruno/jun. i love them so much, like i'm not even joking. they make me SO very happy. yes, it's very random and "crackship" BUT I DON'T CARE I LOVE THEM!!!!! and yes, i do have more crossover ships but wejfhbwe i am shy to share LMAO.

DISCLAIMER: i am a multishipper, and these are like... not all of my ships. basically: if i think they look cute/good/have enough chemistry (or brainrot potential) together, i will most likely ship it. i think multishipping fun and it's fun to see a bunch of couples <3.

There is a lot of the talk about the new Z-ARC support, like, this is basically the actual ending of ARC-V, but for now, I’m focusing on the Katakana names.

覇王龍ズァーク is the Japanese name of Z-ARC as we discussed before, Haouryuu Zuaaku. As we discussed before, zu sound here is weird.

However,

覇王天龍オッドアイズ・アークレイ・ドラゴン, Odd-Eyes Arcray Dragon uses the “zu” sound for Odd-Eyes (オッドアイズ, Oddoaizu, hey, ai zu!), and adds a break for aaku, then adds Ray’s name レイ (rei, meaning zero, or ley in ley lines, known in Japan, and China as “dragon pits”), which explains the true purpose of the “zu” sound.

As you may know, 2 pf the Dimension Dragons have their Bracelet Girls’ names in them, and 1 of them alludes to it:

オッドアイズ・ペンデュラム・ドラゴン, Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon has the ズ, zu, and yu, ュ, letters, representing Yuzu.

クリアウィング・シンクロ・ドラゴン, Clear Wing Synchro Dragon has リ, ri, and ン, n, representing Rin.

ダーク・リベリオン・エクシーズ・ドラゴン, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon has the リ, ri, alluding to Ruri, but doesn’t contain the ru sound.

These specific Dragons are somewhat important, since they spell Z-ARC’s name: ズ, zu from Odd-Eyes, ア, a, from Clear Wing, ーク, (elongation)+ku from Dark Rebellion.

スターヴ・ヴェノム・フュージョン・ドラゴン, Starving Venom Fusion Dragon doesn’t have a lot of interesting stuff going on for it, but it contains a lot of Pendulum’s characters. ム, mu, ラ, ra, ュ, yu, ン, n. (In Z-ARC’s name, the elongation sound might come from here, but they kinda dropped the ball here to be honest, to focus on Yuri’s status as an evil Yuya specifically rather than his status as one of the Yu-boys.)

Since 3/4′s of the dragons reference their respective Bracelet Girls, it makes sense Z-ARC to reference his, Ray.

For future reference:

Ship tags for Zarcray are ズァクレイ (Zuakurei), and ズァレイ (Zuarei), much like Yuyayuzu, this doesn’t have the elongation sound, unlike Odd-Eyes Arcray Dragon. Otherwise, Odd-Eyes Arcray Dragon literally contains their ship name. Hilarious. I don’t get how more canon than you can get. I would like Yusei x Aki to try.

(This card is especially amusing, because it was revealed shortly after Vision Resonator in the Jack Atlas SD. Zarcray somehow managed to beat Jack x Carly, damn.)

覇王眷竜ライトヴルム, Supreme King Servant Dragon Lightwurm’s Katakana name, Raitovurumu, which is a combination of Ra in Reira, and i, in Ray (Rei).

Though Reira’s name is written in Kanji 零羅, zero lightweight fabric/silk gauze/thin silk.

This card is likely a homage to Lightray monsters, which are the LIGHT counterparts of various monsters, mostly DARK ones. Their names were written in Katakana, thus contain Ray’s name.

wurm part in Darkwurm, and Lightwurm is likely a reference to lindwurms:

Much like Eternatus’s inspiration, the intended meaning is likely how wurms, in their ouroboros-esque form, represent infinity.

(We will talk about this card more in detail, but apparently seeing a whitewurm in Swedish folklore means good luck.)

Pendulum Evolution’s name is based off Structure Deck: Pendulum Evolution, which featured Astrograph Sorcerer, and Chronograph Sorcerer, alongside the Magician forms of Dimension Dragons.

The card’s effect is for Astrograph Sorcerer, and its retrain, but since the artwork features pendulum neclaces for each Yu-boy, transformed by their respective En cards, this might be a hint towards either 2500 ATK versions of the Dragon Magicians, and/or 2500 Pendulum Main Deck versions of Dimension Dragons.

We will also talk about this card in detail in a later post.

I find it amusing that of all Yu-boy/Bracelet Girl couples, Zarcray ended up getting the sappiest, most 80s animé looking stuff. This stuff looks like it is straight out of a classic shoujo manga, or old mecha animé.

Carly wasn’t all that close to Aki which is why she was surprised that Aki would go so far as to not only invite her over but chauffeur her around, as well. Carly met the limousine at the corner of her favourite cheapo department store and was then on her way. The inside of it was plush and velour, mostly maroon but there were other decals as well, like the bucket of ice with some sort of fancy bottle of tonic water sticking out of it but looking through the other beverages, Carly decided that she preferred regular old water.

Arriving at the Izayoi estate, or at least the off-shoot secondary location of it which Aki had been permitted to live in, took Aki’s breath away. The estate was bigger than the entire block that her apartment was on, the very same one she was ashamed of and the house itself was probably taller than the complex too. And definitely wider, as well.

Ornate, golden gates opened at the cue of an automation and Carly was taken further into this strange, gilded world of money and affluence. It was mind boggling. And it made Carly squirm in her seat, like she wanted to be eaten up by the upholstery but as the limousine followed through the curve of the road, past the circular garden in the quay, she glimpsed Aki.

Aki, with her hands fidgeting in front of her, was waiting politely in her casual clothes; a corduroy, orange skirt that went over her knees paired with a pale blue peasant shirt that was off her shoulders. She greeted Carly and the limousine with a smile. She waved at them both until the limousine slowed down in front of her.

Carly tried to open the door for herself but the driver swooped in first, for some reason it stung but Carly got out regardless. Aki beamed at her.

“Thank you for making it today, Carly, it means a lot to me.” she said with a nice, even voice.

“Y-Yeah, no worries, glad to be, um, out of the house - and not ‘cause I’m doin’ groceries.” Carly laughed awkwardly but Aki had a genuine, good-natured giggle at her joke. Carly smiled.

“I hope you don’t mind but I thought that we would just hang out in the garden, the house feels very… stiff, I feel more at home out here but if you’d prefer-”

“No, no, that sounds perfectly good. I need more Vitamin D and stuff.” Carly replied.

“Thank you.” Aki said. “Well then, this way.”

Carly nodded and Aki led her through the gardens. The lawns of this place were immaculate but the garden itself may as well have been Wonderlandian. The transition from the neat clippings with no level of variance to the hedging and bushes of the inner garden was seamless. The garden was beautiful, if a little eccentric, with all the roses and sculptures.

But Carly noticed something else aside from the scenery the further in that they got, the more natural Aki seemed. Like she was less nervous. Carly wished she could say the same about herself, she just felt more and more nervous. After all, they weren’t really close friends. More friends of mutual friends or acquaintances. It felt weird to be all alone without any of the boys, or even the twins, around with them.

At the centre of the garden, there was an ivory white gazebo for them to perch under. It was furnished with an outdoor seating set coloured similar, the table of which was furnished again with a pitcher of water, glasses, and a complimentary charcuterie board. Aki slid along gracefully on the stone seating provided but Carly was a little bit more awkward as she sat down. Especially because the seating was kind of hard and she was the type of gal who liked to lounge in not exactly luxury but at least in soft comforters, like on her three seater in her crummy apartment or even the front seat of her car.

“Thank you again,” Aki said after the moment of silence between them became seconds, “for coming out here. I just. Wanted to talk with you.”

“Oh, um, okay, why?” Carly said.

Aki blushed. “Sorry, did that make it sound like I was cross with you?”

“Only a little.” Carly said and she pinched her fingers together for emphasis.

“I just wanted, you know, a little girl-talk as they say.” Aki explained with an unusually terse voice.

Carly’s eyes went wide and she nodded vehement, “Oh, I get you, I get you, yeah, cool, sounds good.”

“And, well, Runa is just a bit too young for me to burden her with all the trials and tribulations of high school, besides… she fits in with her peers really well despite her psychic powers but me on the other hand… Well, not so much but you seemed like you would know a thing or two about that…” Aki rambled.

Carly didn’t say anything but she did stare. She was fairly certain she ought to be insulted or offended by the implication that she had been the ugly duckling at school but honestly, Aki was so pretty she could say whatever she wanted forever. Not to mention she was right and Carly was still, pretty much, the ugly duckling but better that than the unwitting hummingbird...

Aki continued to ramble since Carly was quiet, “And you’ve already graduated high school, haven’t you? I thought maybe you might have some advice.”

“Oh yeah, I have advice, I can totally give you the declassifieds and the four-one-one and on how to survive the most brutal years of anyone’s life.” Carly bragged like she was more than two years out of high school herself and that she hadn’t done her university course entirely online.

“Really?” Aki exclaimed. “Oh, that would be wonderful, thank you so much.”

“Oh, don’t get too excited, I’m gonna sound like a greeting card here, totally couldn’t even do a blog post on the subject but honestly? Keep doing what you're doing. Who cares? But at the same time, the consequences of high school aren’t real and I should have attacked that one girl who harassed me like a wild animal. Gee, if I had your powers, well, I would’ve been more like the protagonist of that one horror movie, you know, the one where the girl wins Homecoming Queen and ends up in pig’s blood and glitter. Yeah.” Carly rambled.

Aki laughed. “You’re really funny, Carly, but thank you. It helped just a little bit.”

“Huh,” Carly thought to herself, “maybe I could do a blog post on it. Or even a news article. Thanks for the career advice, high school girl.”

“Thank you,” Aki said, “and please, eat up, I want you to feel at home here…”

“Like you do?” Carly pointed out. “You don’t even need glasses to see that you’re clearly not all that comfortable here.”

“It’s that obvious?” Aki asked as she took an orange from the charcuterie board laid out in front of them.

“Blindingly.” Carly said. “But here’s some more advice from a high school leaver, getting your own place, even if its just your car that you’re living out of, is so much better than your parents’ place.”

“I’ll bear that in mind.” Aki replied.

Carly took the other orange. She was surprised that it wasn’t peeled; she glanced up at Aki and darn, too late.

“You know,” Carly said, “I’m a bit superstitious.”

“I have heard that, actually, you use - and divine from - a Fortune Lady deck, correct?” Aki recalled with a blink of her pretty, maroon eyes.

“Correct-a-mundo.” Carly replied with a snap of her fingers. “Anyways, did you know you can do love fortune telling from the rinds of fruit skins?”

“No, I didn’t know that.” Aki said and she put her orange’s rind, which was in pieces, on the table.

“Yeah, lemme show you.” Carly said.

She continued to dig out the rind of her orange, making sure that it was all on one continuous ream. This was easier with apples, Carly thought to herself, even sticking out her tongue until she had done to completion. Her fingers were sticky with the juices but honestly, Carly preferred oranges to apples anyway.

“Once you have the rind, you toss it over your shoulder,” Carly said and she did exactly as she preached, she tossed the rind of her orange over her shoulder, it sailed past her similarly coloured puffer vest, “then you get up and look at how the rind’s fallen. If you're lucky, it’ll make the letters of your soulmate’s initials.”

“My, spooky.” Aki cooed.

Carly got up and she looked at what she had done. Her eyes traced the netting and rind and she was certain. A-I. or maybe I-A. Depends. Either way she seemed to be in big trouble but she glanced back to Aki, Izayoi Aki or Aki Izayoi depending on if her name was read family first or not, and Carly blushed.

“Aw, darn, my luck’s super bad today,” Carly said and she forced a barky, fake laugh as she got down to pick up the pieces of the rind, “I didn’t get anything. Oh well but now you know.”

“I’ve learned many things today, thank you, Carly.” Aki replied.

And to her cute bewilderment, Aki watched as Carly’s face got redder and redder. She wondered why.

I could potentially add all of Yugioh, but I don't feel that's fair since I haven't finished DM or Zexal yet, am currently still watching Arc-V, and haven't started Vrains. (Not sure if I'll watch Sevens and I refuse to watch GX except maybe the last arc where I hear it gets serious)

Your favourite non-canon ship?

Probably Ushio/ Trudge x Mikage/ Mina. I like the cops together; its cute and a better relationship for Mikage.

Is there a ship you didn’t like at first but ultimately started shipping?

Ya know, now that I think about it, I never really liked the Yusei x Kiryu/ Kalin ship, but I'm not so against it now that I reflect on it. Its got some good angst in it, I tell you what. And it feels more likely and interesting than Yusei x Bruno (which I still don't ship).

What is the rarest rare pair (that you ship)?

I'd guess it would be either Yusei x Sherry or Crow x Aki.

For Yusei x Sherry, it seemed pretty heavily implied that Sherry had a little bit of a thing for him. When she thinks of turbo dueling connecting their hearts, she imagines the two of them naked. Yeah, it might just be a metaphor, but she's still picturing him with no clothes. Sherry also seems quite focused on Yusei and, if I remember correctly, part of the reason she sided with Z-One at the end was to prevent Yusei's prophesied death. I'm not sure if its an unrequited crush that is canon or not or if its rare, but I don't see a lot of people talking about it.

For Crow x Aki, I do like them mostly as friends and definitely prefer Aki with Yusei, but I do think Crow and Aki have the foundation to become a good couple. But I think I've only ever seen one fanfic that had them as a ship, so I'm assuming its not very popular.

Name a popular ship you don’t get the appeal of.

Any variation of Yusei and/or Jack and/or Crow so Kizunashipping, Kingcrabshipping, etc. They were raised together as foster brothers so I see them in a sibling dynamic and I adore that brotherly bond for them. There's nothing wrong with shipping them together though since they aren't actually related, so for those who like those ships, go ahead and enjoy them. They're just not my cup of tea.

What is your most fluffy + happy ship?

... All of them have angst... It's kinda impossible to not have angst in 5Ds since it was a pretty serious Yugioh series. I guess Crow x Aki would have the least angst, at least involving them together as a couple.

What is your most angsty ship?

Probably, Jack x Carly for obvious reasons. Carly literally got murdered, Jack agonized over not knowing what exactly happened to her, he finds out she's his enemy, has to duel her and attempts to die with her, has her die in his arms, and admits multiple times that she was the woman he loved, even having that be a big part of his speech in the final duel against Godwin.

And then the next arc they acted like none of that happened which is angst inflicted personally to us through bad writing, not from something that was part of a realistic flow in the story for the characters.

A non-canon ship that should be canon?

Hmmm, I don't think there's anything I ship that I think should be canon. The only thing I can think of is Ushio x Mikage, but Ushio did have a canon one-sided crush on Mikage so its technically not non-canon.

Your oldest ship; the one you’ve shipped for the longest time?

I knew about Yusei x Aki and Jack x Carly for a long time before I really watched the show and I thought they were pretty cute without having much context, so I guess they count.

What ship represents the kind of relationship you’d love to have?

Yusei x Aki. They both have done their best to help each other and they have such a great level of trust too. I feel like at the very end, in that famous goodbye scene, they are so in sync that they don't even need words to express how they feel. I want that level of familiarity and relaxed coexistence.

Is there a ship that makes your skin crawl?

Lua/ Leo x Luca/ Luna. Literally, they are twins, not to mention little kids. I do get that they are super latched on to each other and I've been weirded out by Lua blushing at Luca at least once, but still, come on guys. Its just gross.

What is a character you can only imagine in one particular ship?

Well, the only canon character I ship with Crow is Aki, but I do ship him with an OC I made in the 3DS game, Over the Nexus. So instead I'll say I can only see Ushio and Mikage with each other. Ushio really doesn't have any other options and I don't ship Mikage with Jack, who would be her only other option.

What is your favourite canon ship?

Hnnnn, that's tough because both Yusei x Aki and Jack x Carly are amazing. Hmmm, if I absolutely had to pick one... UGH. I CAN'T. Seriously, I can not do it. I love Yusei and Aki for their support and trust in the other, but then I love Jack and Carly's cute dynamic of big, intimidating guy loves goofy, ball of sunshine girl. Both? Both. Both is good.

Name a ship that deserved more content.

Actually, I think I might have to say Ushio x Mikage here. I really liked the idea of them getting together, but the idea gets sort of dropped after Ushio overhears her trying to confess her feelings to Jack. Maybe it got mentioned or alluded to once or twice after that, but eventually it just disappeared. I also haven't seen any fanart, fanfics, or anyone even talking about them that much. I think they could have made a great background couple and deserve more content.

Is there a ship you feel gets undeserved hate in fandom?

I've seen some hate for Jack x Mikage. I don't even ship it, but I think its hated a little too intensely by some people. It is unhealthy maybe on Mikage's side, but you could easily spin it to not be. I don't think its that bad, its just not for me.

What is the first ship you had?

Again, I knew about Yusei x Aki and Jack x Carly beforehand. I probably shipped Yusei x Aki first.

Is there a ship that made you realize something about yourself?

Nope.

Is there a type of ship you always go for?

Just whatever strikes a cord with me I guess.

Is there a ship the writers have ruined for you?

Freaking Jack x Carly. Don't get me wrong, I still ship it, but the writers just acting like none of their development happened was stupid, poorly handled, and honestly insulting.

Is there a ship the fandom has ruined for you?

Maybe Crow x Sherry. I saw people talking that one up like crazy, but they didn't even interact till the very end and, even then, I didn't think it was anything ship worthy. I mean, she tried to use his kids against him. Crow had more chemistry with Aki in that duel than he did with Sherry. I just don't get it.

Have you ever created fan created content for a ship?

I tried writing a Jack x Carly fic, but I got kinda stuck and wrote other non-ship stuff involving Jack instead. I might go back to that old fic again, but I also have a new idea for a story with them. I may just do both. I also want to do something with Yusei and Aki and Crow and my OC at some point, I just need to come up with something I feel like I can write for them.

I've also drawn Crow with the OC, but only once and was just a doodle to see if I could draw them decently.

Favourite thing you’ve ever created for a ship?

Well, the only thing I've properly created was a doodle so I have to say that by default. Although, I was pretty satisfied with it. lol

Is there a ship you’ll never admit you have?

I... sort of ship Crow with myself. I know I ship him with my OC, but she's not really me; she's her own person. I have a lot of self-ships and I'm always embarrassed to admit to them, but I still do. I can't help falling in love with Crow. You can't blame me; he's absolutely adorable.

Have you ever started shipping a ship because of the fans?

I started shipping Yusei x Aki and Jack x Carly a little bit before I started watching the show because of fans praising them so yes.

What is one scene you want to see happen for all your ships?

Well, obviously they need to get to married and have children and live happy lives together. That's the best happy ending for couples.

Is there a ship you wish you didn’t know existed?

Lua x Luca. Because ew. That and Divine/ Sayer x Aki. I don't know if anyone legit ships that but I have seen it in tags for fics and it disgusts me. I hope its only shown to be a bad thing because that is certainly not a healthy relationship.

Name a ship that ended like you wanted it to.

Yusei x Aki. Yep, I actually liked that last scene between them. I think it conveyed that they clearly loved each other without them having to say it aloud. Words weren't needed. I think its safe to say they got together at some point.

Name a ship that deserved better in the end.

Oh, Jack x Carly! There's no other ship to put here. The writers did them so dirty. He just left her behind with the other two fangirls because 'women are a distraction' and she was just going to wait for him to come back? Dark Signer Arc Jack would never leave her behind. Aki I ship with Yusei, Sherry, and Crow.

I guess Crow is tied with her because I ship him with her, my OC, and myself.

What is the ship you ignore 98% of canon for?

I mean, all us Scoopshippers ignore the WRGP because of Jack x Carly sucking. I actually don't hate that whole arc, but it definitely has a lot of problems. The biggest one is Jack x Carly just suddenly not being a thing.

Is there a ship you like but you dislike the fandom?

I guess I get a little annoyed with Faithshippers complaining about Yusei and Aki not confessing their feelings at the end (because they didn't need to say it ya'll. They knew), but I don't dislike the whole fandom for that.

DAY 19 (JULY 25TH): FLEX YOUR CANON

We all have our different headcanons about the characters or story. What are yours? It can be anything from changing canon to implementing your own ideas!

This is kinda self indulging since most of my shipps end together but xd

-As per canon, Yusei stays in NDC, he’s single all the time, Akiza is successful doctor and has occasional relationships

-All the Signers meet up at least once a year to spend time together/catch up

-Jack is his usual self and is bantering with Crow who always say he will be the next King

-Rua is making name for himself, Luna blossoms and has a lot of friends/enjoying her time in university

-Kiryu finds peace within himself and is doing something similar as Martha did with Satellite children, takes care of children/lost youth in Satisfaction town

-Yusei is successful scientist and is making progress with his fathers work, he duels only for fun now (thank God) or when is asked to make a guest appearance in Duel school

-Sherry is still thirsty for Yusei ( she feels only passion though not love) but Yusei is playing dense

-In one of those met ups, Yusei and Aki are finally in place where they don’t put each other on pedestal . Aki accepted herself and loves herself, she’s grateful for all the things Yusei did for her, but love she feels for him is genuine, not the one that comes from feeling thankful. Yusei knows she doesn’t need his help anymore, and is happy she can stand on her own. He loves her for a strong woman she is. They have long distance relationship and eventually they make plans for moving in together.

-Jack in secret relationship with Carly all the time ( secret for public, his friends know)

-Tired of getting rejected by Yusei all the time, Shirley and Crow hook up, but will they be in a relationship only time will tell. For now, they are happy with how things are

Idk it’s really weird that I loved Jack x Carly, but watching it again, it really sucks they turned Carly into a fan girl to the point I don’t really ship them anymore. I mean even when Aki turned into a benchwarmer, you already knew she and Yusei were endgame. It was surprising to see Jack yell at her at the end to get out of the gift truck and he gave Mikage his address. Mikage was the one that gave a passionate speech about waiting for him, while Carly and coffee girl just nodded along. I feel like they could have been hinting at something there..

You put together every problem I have with the canon version of 5ds-

Oh, that's a nice observation, I forgot about that! I mean, Mikage x Jack wouldn't have been a bad ship (she idolizes him a bit but that's a problem all three of them have), I'm only wondering about a possible age gap (we don't know how old she is, but I believe she's a bit older than Jack, possibly some years) and the fact that Jack doesn't look interested at all lol

Nem tudom megítélni, hogy mennyire lett volna örök klasszik, ha megjelenik, mert ez így úgyse jelent volna meg, de ez így is nagyon-nagyon jó) Prince: Originals 8.5 (öncoverek, jók nagyon) Clive Tanaka: Unreliable Narrator 9.0 (2018, nem tudom, chillwavetől a felnőttpopig minden, de van rajta lakodalmas glampop is, itt írtam róla első megdöbbenésemben, hogy ezt a 2018-as évvégi lemezt miért nem ismertem eddig. Az előző Tanaka-kazetta máig nagy kedvenc, és ez is közel olyan jó, a nyáron megjelenik a közepe vinylen.)

(Ezeken kívül még sok lemezbe belehallgattam - na ez a sablonszöveg júniusban sem volt igaz, és maximum 10 percet töltöttem velük, mert annyira nem nekem szóltak vagy szimplán borzasztóak voltak, ezeket nem sorolom. És igen, ez amolyan laza sorrend.)

Január Február Március Április Május

Tényleg keveset hallgattam júniusban, nem is akartam kitenni ezt, hanem majd a remény, hogy július végén behozom a május végi, meg az egész júniusi lemaradást. Meg a korábbiak, meg az egész július, hahaha. De mivel kiteszem nemsokára a félévit is, akkor legyen meg ez, hogy azon ne legyen olyan, amit nem értékeltem egy adott hónapban. Plusz van itt pár elveszett májusi lemez is, amikre emlékeztem.

Csak azokat hallgattam meg, amik nagyon érdekeltek, ezért is több most a jó és jobb lemez.

A csúcs a Kokoko!, alig várom, hogy lássuk a Pohodán, eszetlen tánczene, de valamit jobban elkapott, mint a beteggyors ugandai és más Nyege Nyege-társak, nyilván nyugatifül-barátabb, viszont így is nagyon eredeti és főleg hatásos. Special Request nem aprózta el, az év egyik legjobb tánczenei lemeze mellé tolt egy stílusgyakorlatot is, de az is nagyon jó. Physical Therapy-t Klág D. ajánlotta, nagyon pazar eklektikus posztminden zene, az Elite G. és a Default G. haveri köréből, ami hallatszik is. Csadag braziljai közül is meghallgattam párat, Sessa nagyon megérintett, klasszik mpb-világ. Agent bla a posztpunkos dreampopban jó megint, talán nem annyira mint elsőre, de azért eléggé.

Isaac Birituro & The Rail Abandon – ez megint afrikai, még inkább európai fülre tervezett, de szép folktronika. Callahan szokásos magas minőség, rövid dalokkal, de sok egyformán jó van belőlük. Junior Brielle a svéd iskola synth80spoppal, hiphopban Denzel Curry minden korábbinál jobban tetszett, ahogyan Megan Thee Stallion nyomja az az, amit lehet szeretni a rapben, az Injury Reserve meg amolyan mai soft-Beastie, na jó, azt is csak nagyon finoman. Pixx lassan, de biztosan győz meg, Durand Jones & The Indications-szel erre a hónapra is jutott perfekt retrosoul, az Emotional Oranges meg amolyan mai és tipikus nyári diszkó. Tayla Parxnak van egy tökjó aktuál poplemeze, Carly Rae-ét még nem hallgattam meg, de masszív előítéletem azt mondja, hogy a közelében sem lesz ennek. Anthony Naples a tavalyi egyik kedvenc elektronikus tánczeni lemezem után idén gyorsan jött a folytatással, ami szintén jó, ha nem is annyira. A Penelope Isles meg egy kedves gitárzenekar. A Man-szigetekről! (Ja, és van pár tökjó reggaeton-lemez, nem kamu!)

Ezek tetszettek a legjobban júniusban. A második kupacban (és harmadik elején) még olyanok vannak, amiket szerintem abszolút érdemes meghallgatni annak, aki bírja az adott stílust, a harmadik-negyedik adagban viszont már azok szerepelnek, amikhez rajongónak kell lenni és úgy sem kizárt a csalódás.
