Akira was always particular to kiss. He kissed like he tried to always match your rhythm. While appreciated at times, you couldn't help but be a tad disappointed at his lack of initiation. Still he managed to be pleasant to kiss. His lips were always warm and never chapped. He had a surprising fondness for a vanilla latte chapstick he got at the import store. But for as much as he tried to match you, follow what you enjoyed most about kissing. His lips always curled into a smile after a few seconds too many. He couldn't help it! Something about kissing you always made him smile.

Tae never had any issues leading. She was always forward. Once she'd opened up to you, she admitted it was because she was afraid to not take the chance. You were something she didn't want to let escape due to her inaction. It was sweet in a way. While she wasn't big on PDA, Tae rarely hesitated to give you a kiss before you left her office or before she left your place. Those ones were quicker typically, almost shy in a way. Her usual ones however, those were your favourite. They were always longer lasting, emphasized by her hands on your hips, fingertips gently pressing into your skin. 

Sometimes kissing Goro was like playing an ongoing chess game. You could never really predict his next move. Sometimes it was gentle and soft, a hand on your lower back, the other by his side. The utmost respectful of men. Other times though, there was a tad more.. Passion. In his actions. Gloved fingers tugging you closer, lips moving hastily against yours. He certainly was something when he pulled back, eyes wide and cheeks flushed red. As if he couldn't believe his own actions. He always apologized when he got that like, but his flustered expression was always something to look forward to. Especially when you followed up with another kiss and the prince detective became horrendously flustered by it.

Makoto was always respectful when she kissed you. Her arms around your neck, standing a respectful distance away from you. It was endearing really, she was very cute. Though her chaste and respectful kisses nearly never lasted. She'd get ten or fifteen seconds in before she pulled you in closer to her. Her eyebrows furrowed with determination, a rebellious spirit burned in her touch, in her kiss, her actions. Makoto was so used to being a certain way, acting a certain way. With you, that all seemed to melt away. With you she found her walls crumbling, and her kisses conveyed she wouldn't want it any other way.

with how dark it is outside, it's easy to feel a sense of worry creep up your spine each passing moment akira doesn't return. did something happen? did he get lost because of how dark it is? what if he's hurt?

the vacant attic smells faintly of his scent, yet most of it is masked by the strong coffee from downstairs. the pillows along the end of his mattress are the strongest, and so, as embarrassing as you think this might be, you find yourself curling into them, basking in what he's left behind.

the sound of soft footsteps padding up the stairs quickly eases your nerves though, as you're quick to sit up at the familiar noise. a mumbled "i'm back," escapes his lips in the form of a yawn when he finally reaches the top. his eyes hardly have time to search the room for your figure as you meet him at his side, arms wrapping around the base of his neck and tightly squeezing.

"don't scare me like that," you whine into his neck, fingers curling through the thin material of his jacket. he smells like vanilla and sandalwood, sweet yet sensual; playful yet sophisticated—much more prominent than the scent that was left on his sheets. though, he feels fragile in your hold, like it's taking all his strength to keep both of your bodies standing upright. he must be tired.

akira's hands find solace in your waist, relishing in the feeling of your warmth combining with his as he gently massages the supple skin. "scare you?" he asks, pulling away just enough to have his eyes meet yours. they're filled with exhaustion, each blink slower and longer than the last.

there's blatant confusion written all over his face though, with the way his head tilts and eyebrows furrow toward the middle of his forehead and you almost want to flick him for it. "do you have any idea how late it is?" your statement is laced with worry yet you can't help but be baffled at how oblivious he is.

realization washes over his features almost instantly when he recognizes your anxiety. "i'm sorry for making you wait," he mumbles, fingers reaching for yours to loosen the grip on his shoulder. he doesn't have to do much prying before your hand willingly rests in his, placed in between his thumb and forefinger. his grip is delicate and the angle makes him raise your interlocked hands, a drawn-out kiss pressed against your knuckles. "really sorry."

akira's hands are warm against your cold ones, and for a moment you worry if he's put off by it and will pull away. after all, they're like ice. he doesn't seem to mind though when he shifts your hand upwards, pressing another kiss— this time to your palm. it's lazy but not half-hearted. if anything it's more sincere than ever, and your heart flutters as if it's the first time you're meeting.

your fingers graze his cheek as his skin warms your own. the action nearly makes you shiver, suddenly yearning for him to kiss you again and again and again.

and somehow, despite nearly toppling over from exhaustion, akira seems to read your mind, kissing your palm a second time and peppering even more down the expanse of your wrist. it tickles, the gentle pecks mixed with the softness of his lips yet you can't find the desire to stop him. "i suppose i can forgive you this one time."

akira chuckles lowly, breath fanning against your skin. "i'm glad."

Akira felt the familiar buzz of his phone, half expecting it to be one of his phantom thief accomplices. He stifled a groan seeing instead, it was Takemi.

“is there anyway you could come by today ? I’d like to do a few tests.”

Akira sighed, responding back with a “sure, be there soon”. He didn’t mind being tae takemis “guinea pig”, it was just the aftermath of her work that truly bothered him.

He waited for the day to go by, hours turned to minutes as he was almost dreading leaving his spot, a bit fearful of what was to come. finally, it was time to go. He said a quick goodbye and half rushed to takemis clinic. The quicker he got the test done the better.

He had finally made it, slowing his pace as he walked through the doors; Takemi immediately taking notice of him. “Afternoon my Guinea Pig; please come to the back. I have a special treat for you today.” Was it a blood test? Maybe she would have him run up and down the streets of Yongen-Jaya to see the effects of her medicine. He was lost in thought as he lazily opened the door, being met with unfamiliar eyes.

“Akira, this is [Last name] [First name] she’s going to be my assistant for a while. Today she’s going to be the one administering the medication to you. I’ll be in the front waiting. If you need any help, please feel free to come get me.” Takemi says, waving a lazy goodbye as she walked to the front desk, closing the door behind her. Akira blinked, slowly turning his head to you. it all happened so fast he couldn’t get a word in. When had takemi gotten an assistant ?

“Hello there! As you heard I’m [Last name] [First name] and I’m going to be assisting Takemi in the clinic for a while. Feel free to make yourself comfy. Its nice to finally meet you ” you say, taking a seat in takemis normal spot.

Akira stiffens. A teenager working in takemis clinic? he wondered if she had let you intern with her or knew you personally. It was a bit odd for takemi to let just anyone in here. Never the less, he relaxed, nodding in your direction. “Nice to meet you as well. I’m Kurusu Akira .” He wondered if the rumors in Shujin about him had met your ears by now.. unless you dropped out ? Is that why you were working here ?? Akira had so many questions, but obviously wasn’t going to ask.

“Well ? Are you going to sit down ?” You asked, extending an arm to the bed beside him.

He sat down, placing his bag down on the floor. You turned around in the rolly chair, clipboard in hand flipping back and fourth between a few pages. You sighed, looking up from your papers to examine him. Your eyes lingered on him for a moment, looking away as soon as he looked up from his bag. You looked back to ur clipboard brushing a piece of hair out of your face.

“Alright, Mr kurusu. I’m going to be doing a few examinations”

Hi! Do you know any media - either western or eastern - with a character like Griffith in it? Thanks

That's a tough one. There are tons of characters who evoke similar tropes or are directly inspired by Griffith, but it depends on which parts of Griffith you're looking for. So... I'll give names and then just kind of expand on how they are Griffith-esque.

Giorno Giovanna from JoJo's always struck me as a bit of a Griffith Lite. He's idealistic but ruthless, a strategic thinker, has big dreams and does a lot of sus things in pursuit of more positive goals. He's also given to poetic proclamations.

The classic is Ryo Asuka from Devilman, who is a direct inspiration for Griffith and has a very similar role/dynamic with Akira (the protagonist... you probably know this already but you know) to Griffith's and Guts'... emotionally, but not behaviorally. Like Ryo and Griffith don't act anything alike but they have similar functions. Yeah.

Laurent from the Captive Prince is partially inspired by Griffith - I haven't gotten very far in that book, but Griffith is a stated inspiration.

Chrollo Lucilfer from Hunter x Hunter is kind of a hybrid Griffith/Femto type figure to me. He hits a lot of the same buttons as Griffith but is much more overtly malevolent. Still, the intelligence, strategic thinking, his way of going from adorable to terrifying, and something about the way he... talks... Always reminds me of Griffith. And like Griffith he's quite difficult to read and can instill existential dread in orders without doing very much. Also, books.

Blade of the Phantom Master (Shin Angyo Onshi) has a ... lot of things in it that remind me of Berserk, but when it comes to Griffith, they have two different characters that kind of ring the bells. For Griffith the human, the main one is Hae Mo Su, who is the main character's deceased best friend who appears only in flashbacks once you're past the middle of the series. The other oen is Aji Tae, the main villain - a lot of people compare him to Griffith, but he's more of a Femto, although he sometimes pretends to be a Griffith. Also because of plot things, it's... an interesting comparison.

Artorius from Tales of Berseria has a lot in common with him - mind you I've never actually played the game so take it with a grain of salt. But he's a silver haired idealist who becomes unemotional due to a severe loss and then proceeds to do awful things in the name of benefiting humanity so, there you are.

If you want something MUCH MUCH MORE LIGHTHEARTED than anything else on this list, I'm Stanning the Prince is a romance manhwa webcomic that simultaneously strongly evokes Berserk and turns it into like... a lighthearted romance comic. The younger/crown prince is physically identical to Griffith and has a Griffithy vibe... also his sigil is a blue and white wolf whereas his brother's sigil is a red and black bird, so like.... anyway but again this is romance comic so don't expect it to go too heavy.

Le'Garde from Fear & Hunger (dark RPG) is perhaps the most 1-for-1 comparison I've seen in terms of role and story, though he has some non-Griffith twists to him. He is directly based on Griffith, though. I saw a review call this game "Undertale, but it's Berserk."

All that said, the closest I've ever come to being like, this guy may as well just be Griffith was... Canute from Vinland Saga. When he first appears, this comparison will seem pretty shallow but just hang in there. By the time I paused in my reading (which I need to get back to) I was like, oh this is what Griffith would be like as King, cool cool.

I personally DO NOT see the Protags as self inserts. I think they all have their own personalities. So I don’t really have any self insert ships were I ship them just because I want to date a character, but I do understand some people have those.

Akira and Goro are a massive call back to Tatsuya and Jun from Persona 2, and Tatsuya and Jun are written with the intent to be romantic. Though I think after the third semester I usually don’t have to explain why I feel like Akira and Goro is an obvious Ship, it’s one of those you can totally have a different preference but you understand what I'm getting at right?

I reeeally hope I don’t have to explain that Futaba and Akira are in sibling dynamic so Shipping them would be gross.

Kasumi’s infatuation with Akira makes ZERO SENSE. The only people who see through your delinquent deguise is Goro (because soulmates narrative foil) and Ryuji (who doesn’t see through he’s just a good boy who trusts everyone), so Kasumi seeing through it makes NO SENSE. If she were to follow anyone around saying “Senpei” I think it would be Makoto.

Rise’s feral one sided thirsty crush on Souji is very funny to me (and I love playing it for comedy) but I don’t think he would ever reciprocate it. Her love just feels a bit too superficial, and Souji has too many issues of not being seen for himself for me to like it as a Ship.

I do think Yukari had a crush on Minato and I think Minato would be willing to try dating her, but I feel their love languages would be too different and it would end in disaster. Minato seems like the little actions and subtle comfort where Yukari seems like she would want big romantic gestures (something Mitsuru would do for her).

I will say with all Persona Romance Routes I am very much not a Fan of the Pandering that is “Girl likes you for no real reason” (it’s honestly just a boring Romance to me) and would’ve liked if more of the Girls just weren’t Romanceable so we could just have more Male/Female Friendships. I feel (aside from the stand out VERY BAD ones) a lot of the Romance Routes aren’t that bad, just don’t mesh well with the Tone and Tension of the rest of the Game (they’re kind Mundane and Boring in comparison to the Relationships I ACTUALLY Ship). But my Opinion on Persona Romance Routes as a whole would be a completely different discussion than Ships.

Update cause I forgot:

It’s necessary to say this so I don’t get Canceled; Hamuko and Minato are Canonically Two Halves of the Same Soul, some people choose to see that as Siblings and some people choose to see that as Soulmates. I used to prefer Siblings but now I prefer Soulmates. Either is fine but don’t mix em is all.

When I say Kasumi I usually actually mean Sumire. Sorry it’s partly cause it’s a Spoiler and partly cause I never got in the Habit of calling her by her Real Name. So unless Specific Context assume when I say Kasumi I mean Sumire. I just don’t feel like going back and changing it everywhere I’ve said it.

My favorite Persona 5 Relationship with the main character, in game with the girls, but also the romance we couldn’t have with the boys (their dialogues are just… too much to not think that they would be beautiful couples).

I wanted to draw the romances just with hand, how I feel they will hold hand. Just to say I have not reach the end of the game, never date anyone in the game so, it’s just assumption about Akira and his possible dates.

Akira x Ann - He offered that bracelet because of her tarot card, the lovers. They strongly hold hands in public, they don’t care about what people think about them.

Akira x Makoto - More intimate, Akira just loves cover her hand with his when they study together, just to have a light but physical link between them.

Akira x Haru - Haru is the empress, but to Akira, she’s his princess. He doesn’t care about the dirt she has under her nails, she’s the princess of his heart and of their garden. 

Akira x Tae - He’s younger, but love doesn’t stop to that. She doesn’t know for sure, but he makes a lot of things for her and he’s kind of a sweetheart. BUT Tae is too fierce to act like a embarassed teenager. 

Akira x Hifumi - A promise. They can’t see as often they want. But every separation comes with a promise. To be together soon, and play shogi again in the Church.

Akira x Ryuji - That’s Strange at first, because none of them thought that they will become lovers. But they know better. They’re best friends after all, they will adjust.

Akira x Yusuke - Yusuke loves painting Akira. Akira’s room feels now the oïl painting and dissolvent. And Yusuke’s hands aren’t the only ones that are covered with paint. 

Akira x Goro - They always know it will end like this. In hate, blood and tears. They know. It didn’t stop their feelings.

ryuji falls asleep with his lips attached to yours. not necessarily in a deep kiss sorta way, but instead, having them softly pressed together, his head tilted against yours so his nose brushes across your cheek. your breaths intertwine when he sighs contently against you, letting out a small hum and a few incoherent mumbles.

and his eyes are closed, long lashes fluttering ever-so-slightly with each exhale as he presses his entire body weight on top of you, arms hooked tightly beneath your shoulders. his fingers scrunch your shirt while his legs slot between yours, body heat warming your cold skin.

every once and a while he wiggles in your grasp, body shifting to get more comfortable. but he doesn't move enough to disconnect your lips, almost like they're a magnet for his own. and it doesn't help that he's a heavy sleeper because once he's asleep he's staying put; and if you move or shift away, he'll only groggily stir and pull you back to him.

when he does wake up, ryuji's lashes flutter open, lips forming a smile against yours before he slides a hand up to your cheek, circling the skin, and fully kissing you. "'s it mornin' already?" he yawns, smirking when he catches your eye. cocking an eyebrow, he tilts his head and brings his face closer to yours, blush dusting his cheeks. "heya, pretty— whatcha lookin' at?"
