REVIEW: DEMON SPELL "EVIL NIGHTS"
DYING VICTIMS PRODUCTIONS is proud to present DEMON SPELL’s striking debut mini-album, Evil Nights, on CD and 12” vinyl formats. How would you feel if, during the night, while you’re lying on your bed, something touches you in the dark? The air grows cold, their eyes emerge from darkness, and you feel your body tense. The shivers begin, shocked by horror, possessed by unholy force – you cannot…

hey, Z! may i humbly offer you Lateralus by Tool for consumption? i'm curious which song you'd like most 💜
You may 🌿 I've been meaning to listen to the full album, so thank you! I had listened to tracks such as Schism and Lateralus previously, but never the full thing.
There's a lot of things I appreciate about this album, particularly how absolutely nerdy it all is (keeping track of time signatures and finding some of the patterns was good fun), but my favorite songs were definitely The Patient and Parabol/Parabola. They may not be as mathematically interesting as some of the other tracks, but I'm going off of vibes for the first full listen through, and I really liked the vibes those three.
There was just something about the vocal delivery in The Patient that stuck out to me, as well as the transition to the heavier guitar while still keeping the clean vocals. The drumming, as to be expected from TOOL, was delightfully intricate.
As for Parabol/Parabola, the dichotomy between the softer prelude and the heavier Parabola just itched the brain. The darker tone in Parabol created a beautiful set-up for the sudden shift when it changes to Parabola, and it made it just that much more impactful

I don’t know WHAT it is about Sad Wings of Destiny that just makes it superior to every other Judas Priest album. It is just so. Fucking. Good.

observation: imagine dragons doesn’t necessarily have a specific style. they actually have a lot of experimentation with instruments and rhythms and various stuff that makes it interesting to take in their entire discography. they just kinda seem like they’re really good at pulling stuff off???
