Titan Comics has announced a tie-in comic to the humorous first-person shooter video game High on Life, which was developed by Squanch Games. The comic series by Alec Robbins and Kit Wallis will debut in June. Baldemar Rivas drew one of the covers for the first issue, shown above.

every time i reread mr boop i get something else out of it and the other day getting the print version out of the library what really struck me (especially because of the intro essay/guest comics) is the complete commitment to characters as being Recognizable Symbols rather than (homestuckian theory lol) some sort of existing archetype tapped into by authors.

and so the question isnt "are you disrespecting The Character by portraying them this way" , the question is who is ALLOWED to make things up about widely recognizable designs- can we maybe even call them logos, honestly?.

like. a quick googling the sonic wiki says hes 16 in some games but 30 in certain comics etc etc but alec robbins is neither Sexualizing A Minor nor Adhering To The Canon Where Hes 30 because the boopian theory is that sonic is not a guy who is any amount of years old but a widely recognizable design that in this particular work functions as someone who owns a bar and shot alec because he wouldnt have a threesome with him so you presume hes an adult. a bunch of lines on the page that anyone can just Say Things About and we all choose to either agree with the new rules of that context or we dont or the guy talking gets a cease and desist letter.
