“Alek! Alek help!”
---
A little young Revan and Malak composition that I made, while I was up in the mountains with no internet access. Since Juhani seemed to have an affinity with Kath Hounds, maybe some Jedi can pass by them without being bothered. I don’t think Revan was one of those people. (Her affinity is probably Gizka,)

2 future Sith Lords and a future Exile walk the stairs of the Jedi Temple, a place they once called home.
Anywho, this is my iteration of the Exile, Alek, and Revan, back when they were Jedi Knights. A close friend trio before everything went as it did.
I have loads of headcanons and lore built for them (they need to start paying rent in my head, I swear) so I'll put it all under the read more!
Alright let's do this. So first and foremost I like to say that in my mind, they used to be best friends, Revan and Exile (I will also call her Meetra at times) being much like siblings, and Alek being a giant m
They would follow the Soldier, Poet, King format. The Exile the Soldier, Alek as the Poet, and Revan as the King. This also translates in Jedi ways with Guardian Exile, Consular Alek, and Sentinel Revan.
I like to imagine that although Alek has the nickname "Squint" as per part of his last name/old planet. It's also cause he needs glasses. For a guy who loves to read, it's a bit apparent.
That being said the hunt for the Star Forge was also aided by the research Alek did beforehand. As well, it was a passion project for him really. An aspect of his research loving shining through.
Revan and Exile are straightup very good, their humour and vibes are so similarly matched that they get along incredibly well. Meanwhile Alek is the "straight man" in situations. (As well, there were times where Alek may or may not have had feelings for one or the either, but was always closest with Revan. Meanwhile for Exile, a bit more of an incel moment, didn't appreciate her as much.)
In order for the Jedi order to have a bit more trouble going after the main gang, Alek dyed his hair black. This is A) for canon purposes, and B) I like to imagine that when the Exile sees Mical, buried deep within his books, she is reminded of him, and cant help but feel nostalgic.
The gang was also very young when they decided to go to War. Incredibly early 20s, like 22 at most (Age from eldest to youngest being Exile, Revan, Alek, but they're all pretty much the same age). The decision was hard but passionate. Revan was furious, Alek still has unresolved beef, and Exile was ride or die. I imagine they maybe even went on a mission and dealt with the aftermath of a planet after Mandolorian control, and that's what truly kickstarted it.
Revan never brought up Kreia, but she was the closest in regards of masters to him, pretty much a mother, and he did visit her to listen to her advice at times. The thing is, I like to imagine it wasn't a great relationship. Dissapointed parent and angry son with a broken relationship. He'd leave meetings with her in an emotional if not angry state. Yet he'd never bring it up to the trio. They knew better then to ask.
Things were happier in the past though, they were friends, they got to trouble, and there was always a love an appreciation for one another. Yet during the war, their fight and all of it fuelled their rage, pain, and loss. I know in the wiki it says that at one point, Malak wanted to send HK-47 to eliminate the Exile, and Revan refused... the thing is I simply cannot find the source of that, yet it is entirely possible. I like to imagine specifically, Revan being surprised. It reveals something about Malak to him, in which he is willing to betray the Exile if necessary.
Nonetheless, before it all went to hell, I just like to imagine they were best friends, and truly cared for eachother.
Lastly, here is my playlist about them. I hope you enjoyed these. There will be more in the future.

Their story is hardly a fairy tale.
They're not ordinary people and they have no chance of making their own fairy tale... at least, of the one with a happy ending.
Some Malak's thoughts on his relationship with Revan before the Mandalorian Wars from a short (i do hope so) fic I'm trying to write. A kind of a prediction if you like...

The Cosmos Within Us - Chapter 02
I rather belatedly realize that Ch. 01 is mostly porn, so I posted Ch. 02 early since that’s all plot and zero porn.
This chapter is the beginning of a series of misunderstandings between Alek and Phaetin (Revan). Don’t worry, it gets worse before it gets better.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
(mandalorian wars revan by @stellorc and kotor era revan by @hnnny; click for full images. under a read-more because it's going to be very immensely long)
Revan was raised on Dantooine, given to the Jedi as a baby when her singularly powerful Force-sensitivity revealed itself. as a young child, she grew close to another Jedi youngling, Alek Squinquargesimus, who was a year older; the pair became fast friends, and as young teenagers, a latent Force bond between them began to reveal itself. the closeness between the two, as well as Revan's ever-growing power and hunger for knowledge, concerned some of the masters of the enclave - Vrook Lamar was chief among these, and his dislike of Revan only served to make her angrier as she grew older.
at twenty-one, Revan discovered the massacre on Cathar and swore an oath of justice against the Mandalorians. going against the Jedi Council's wishes, she took Alek and a group of dozens of Jedi and joined the Mandalorian Wars. her strategic gifts became apparent almost immediately - within a year, she was named Supreme Commander of the Republic Military, and with every battle she won, her strategies grew more vicious.
Malachor was, as it always goes, the moment of her fall. Revan's powerful visions, visions she'd been having since she was a child, revealed the threat of Vitiate, and Revan took Alek to investigate. a year later, Darth Revan returned at the head of an empire, nearly destroying the Republic in her conquest. Bastila Shan's strike team was a last-ditch effort to stop the war - until Malak fired on his master and Bastila made the choice to save Revan rather than let her die.
Revan's mind was shattered, but a chance remained of her memories returning on their own. the Dantooine Council elected to break from High Council orders and wipe Revan's mind in secret, programming her with the false identity of Mica Kasra, a scout who joined the army after the Jedi Civil War broke out. after months of recovery, training, and simple missions to ensure that no trace of Revan remained, Mica was assigned to the Endar Spire, where an attack left her stranded on Taris. she narrowly escaped Malak's bombardment, alongside Bastila and the rest of her newfound crew, and Bastila brought her to Dantooine for training in the Force - and to ask the wisdom of the Council.
the Council elected to train Mica, with Bastila acting as supervision, and after being deemed ready and uncovering the first Star Map, Mica and her crew were sent on the hunt for the coordinates to the superweapon Revan and Malak had both used to subjugate the Republic. the mindwipe, however, didn't hold, and Revan's memories began to return, alongside dreams facilitated by her Force bond with Malak.
eventually, between the bond and her own determination, Revan lured Malak out and into a confrontation. her inevitable victory led to him being thrown into the Ebon Hawk's brig - Revan was able to destroy the Star Forge, and she took Malak and the few members of her crew that she trusted and fled to a derelict space station in orbit above Yavin IV.
Revan and Alek, having given up the ways of the Sith, found their way back to Dromund Kaas after Revan began to see visions - Alek was handed over to Vitiate and thrown in stasis, and Revan spent the next three years as a prisoner before being enveloped in a plot to kill Vitiate after Mireya Surik came to rescue her. however, in the resulting confrontation with the emperor, Mireya was killed and Revan taken captive, placed in stasis a galaxy away from where Alek was held. three hundred years later, with the aid of a Revanite Jedi Master and Mireya's long-suffering Force ghost, Revan is rescued by two Jedi knights: Lia Vhoss and J'lima Akarr.
Revan, placed in charge of the Foundry and tasked with fighting for the Republic, soon finds herself making a deal with Avaanla Ki, a young Sith Lord with as much knowledge of the Rakata as Revan herself. in exchange for Avaanla's help in locating Alek, Revan allows her to take control of the Revanites - while the pair follow a lead on Alek's location, a coup is staged among the Revanites, and eventually the fighting and Revan's ironclad determination to kill Vitiate lead to a confrontation on Yavin IV.
defeated and without control of the Revanites, Revan disappears into the wider galaxy, eventually meeting her descendant, Khisren, and undertaking her training. as of the Alliance era, she lives on Odessen with Alek, occasionally giving strategic advice to Alliance high command. mostly, she communes with the Force and attempts to figure out how to live without Vitiate's death to drive her.

I think that we as a fandom have forgotten that Malak/Alek’s last name is Squinquargesimus and that makes me want to sob
And if any fanboy out there wants to debate me:

rewriting you are all things bc the quality of the earlier chapters are keeping me from writing more. i don't like how quickly revan and alek became friends either so i'm fixing that, too! here's a peek at a rewritten chapter!
Only the most promising Padawans were selected to train on Dantooine.
Master Bala Nisi was gentle with her words when she explained this to Alek, but he could hear the unspoken warning. He would have to train hard to prove he had a place in the Enclave, even harder than he did in the Jedi Temple on Coruscant.
It was a privilege he was accepted for Jedi training at all. Some of the Masters on Coruscant thought he was already too old at nine years old to be trained properly. When Alek first heard those whispers, he thought it meant he would be thrown back onto the streets if he messed up even once.
So Alek worked twice as hard as any of the other younglings. He put everything he had into his studies, his training, and it caught the attention of Master Bala Nisi.
Alek only realized the tall, dark-skinned Master sitting in on one of their classes was a member of the Jedi Council when the other younglings around him started whispering about her in both excitement and curiosity. He did his best to ignore her presence to focus on the lesson but he still wondered what she wanted from a group of Padawans.
Alek never thought for a moment the Jedi Master even noticed him until she stopped him from leaving the classroom with the others by calling out his name.
“It is Alek, yes?” Master Nisi asked, approaching him with a pleasant smile.
“Alek Squinquargesimus.” Shocked that a member of the Council was speaking to him, Alek stumbled through his own name, nearly making it something unintelligible.
To her credit, her expression didn’t waver in the slightest from her serene smile. “Good to meet you, Alek,” she said with a soothing voice. “I have heard much about you. Would you like to take a walk with me?”
All Alek could do was nod, his pulse racing. What could a Jedi Master want with him? What had he done wrong?
At first, he thought he was being punished when Nisi told him he would be moved from Coruscant to an academy on Dantooine. He had never even heard of Dantooine before. But everyone he told was stunned by the news and he quickly learned what an honor it was to be chosen to train in the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine.
So Alek packed his few belongings and followed Master Nisi onto the shuttle that would take them away from the Core Worlds.

🖊 Asha
Tumblr media
@blueburds Gonna answer for both Vassarok girls at once 👀
Asha loves braiding her - or people's she cares about - hair. After killing her masters she was still stuck on the Star Forge. There was no way she could escape on her own and she needed something to pass the time by so she just started playing with her hair. She had no memory of her past life but somehow this comforted her, felt a bit like home - even though she had no idea what that feeling was but it was definitely a good one. So yeah, Asha ended up making all those fancy hairstyles for fun. Edessa asked Asha to teach her, then she wanted to try her skills on Rosvur, once even Arren. By the time the Mandalorian Wars were over, most of Revan's team was probably wearing braids lol
Tumblr media
Felair was the only one who didn't participate. Keep your hand off her hair. Rosvur secured the braids with the blood of his enemies and scrunchies.
Anyways -  Years later she figured out most of the hairstyles she made were the traditional Iridonian ones. She recalled her mother used to braid her and her cousins' hair this way back when she was younger, which is probably why it felt so comforting.
She told Hertha that. Hertha's secretly a nerd and loved learning more about the history of her family, even though it wasn't much she was into the idea of wearing Irididonian hairstyles. The Vassaroks might have been exiled but they are a proud house who never gave up on their traditions.
Hertha's not good at this though. Her go-to hairstyle is double braids unless Asha helps her.
Tumblr media
So if you ever see two Zabrak girls with swords/daggers/axes and long braided hair attacking the Iridonian Council - it's them 🤠

One Shot dealing with Revan and the Exile’s interaction on Dantooine after Malak was captured by Mandalorians (we know that, Revan and the Exile aren’t fully aware of what happened yet). (1640 words) Not sure I managed to reflect all that I wanted in the way I wanted, but... probably, one day I’ll cope with that and write something different and a bit better.
Description:  Mandalorian attacks and Malak's disappearance on his way to a Mandalorian base shocked both Revan and Peter. They are willing to act, but their own thoughts and proximity to a powerful source of the dark side do not help them. These are probably only beginnings of what they have to get involved in.
Notes:
- Peter Brookman is a name of the future Exile; - I wanted to reflect Revan and Peter's uncertainty over the future just before the war, their interaction, some shades of friendship, a bit of night Dantooine's vibes (and also sort of unconscious thoughts and feelings about the future events???); - English isn't my native language so there must be some mistakes; - The title wasn't initially inspired by the Scorpion's song but later I found out that certain lines fit perfectly to the atmosphere!
It may or may not go with Deep and Dark by Scorpions, it depends on a reader.
“It's deep and dark Deep down in my heart lt's deep and dark Since we've been apart...”

The Cosmos Within Us - Chapter 01
SUMMARY - Alek has been in love with his best friend for years, a relationship that seemingly must remain unrequited. After all, Phaetin is a prodigy destined to become one of the greatest Jedi the Order has ever seen, and Jedi shouldn't fall in love. But one night in the Ancient Grove changes everything after a drunken celebration leads to so much more. For the first time in a long while, Alek's life seems almost perfect... right before everything falls apart.
One drunken night soon jeopardizes the Padawans' futures as they struggle with mistrust, misunderstandings, and a looming problem that neither of them is prepared for. Someday these teenagers will be known as Revan and Malak, the Jedi Knights who defied the Council and save the Republic. But for now, they're just Phaetin and Alek, the Order's favorite prodigy and the best friend who might have accidentally gotten said prodigy pregnant...
Ultimately, this changes nothing. Except that it changes EVERYTHING.
Chapter One is now up on AO3! It's Revlek that takes place during their Padawan days when Alek (Malak) is 16 and Phaetin (Revan) is 17. This portion is 5 chapters, and I'll be posting a chapter per week.

Malak with a wolf daemon
This started off with Revan's raven so honestly I'm choosing animals in part to work with that. Malak's daemon is a Grey Wolf (Canis lupus) to match Revan's raven daemon.
Wolves have been hated and despised, seen as creatures of evil and destruction but conversely they have also been held up as noble warriors and nurturing founders of nations. Primarily predatory carnivores who hunt large prey in packs, wolves very territorial animals with other wolves being one of the factors most likely to kill another wolf. Common Ravens and Grey Wolves are sometimes believed to have a symbiotic relationship, and regardless of if this is factually true, belief itself can play a part in daemon symbolism.
Wolves daemons are also an odd, off beat echo of dog daemons, because they are the closest kin to dogs and yet so utterly different, for dogs are domestic and wolves are wild. You might mistake a wolf daemon for a dog daemon but they are actually two very different creatures.
Wolf daemons get stereotyped as soldier's daemons and a large part of Malak is bound up in being a warrior. A wolf might not be the best fit for Malak but it is a form that works equally well for him as a Jedi and as a Sith.

Darth Malak's story is one of tragedy
So think about the "Big Bads" of the Sith - Sidious, Exar Kun, Vitiate, you know, the works. They usually have a few shared traits; deceitful, prideful, ambitious, ruthless, maybe a hint of bloodlust and, most importantly - power. Nearly always, the Sith antagonist is exponentially stronger than everyone else for most of the story, usually only meeting their match right before they die. It makes sense, given the setting. It wouldn't be very intimidating if the Dark Lord of the Sith could be beaten by just a normal Jedi, after all. But Malak is different.
Malak isn't powerful.
Not compared to Revan, anyway.
(More under the cut, warning: sad)
He wasn't meant to be the Dark Lord. He says as much right before he dies. He was never as strong as Revan and he never would be. He just doesn't have it. And that made me realize that it wasn't just that Malak was Revan's number two. He was Revan's Vader.
Before the Mandalorian Wars, he was just another Jedi. Pretty skilled, but lacking in wisdom or knowledge of the Force. If he was born in a time of peace, his name would have been forgotten. At most, a footnote in someone else's story. But instead, he was born into a time of war, and more importantly than that, he was born at the same time as Revan.
It was Revan that led the Republic and the rogue Jedi against the Mandalorians. He only followed because it was the right thing to do and Revan was his friend. And over the course of the war, he'd be the first to see Revan change. To go from someone enraged by the slaughter of innocents to a general that would abandon whole worlds without a second thought. And of course, it was all necessary to defeat the Mandalorians, but still. What do you think he must have been thinking while he watched Revan's soul die in front of him like that?
And then, at some point, Revan falls. It doesn't really matter the continuity or the reason, not really. Maybe she chose to fall like Kreia said, maybe it was the fear of the true sith that corrupted her , or hell, maybe it was just the war itself. But at some point, Revan falls. She declares herself a Sith Lord. She plans to invade the Republic they fought a war to save.
The reason doesn't matter to Alek. Revan is his friend and Revan has always known best before, right?
So he follows her like he's always done. And at some point, he got sick of it and Revan cut off his jaw. We don't know why he challenged Revan. Maybe he was making a genuine bid for power. Maybe he got tired of the bloodshed. But whatever the reason, Malak's best friend, the friend he's known his entire life, the friend he's followed into two wars without question, mutilated him.
For the rest of his life, he'd have to wear that ugly, frightening prosthetic like a collar, a constant reminder of the wars he's fought for Revan, of the planets he's burnt for his friend master. Is it any wonder that he turned on her? Malak has spent his entire life following Revan, hoping that his friend knew what was right, hoping that it was all for good. For once, he can be the one leading. Revan is weak.Always scheming, always ungrateful for what Malak has sacrificed for her. Malak doesn't just think he'll be a better ruler, he knows it. An Empire where the strong are rewarded and the weak and ungrateful must give their due.
So he fires on Revan's ship. Finally, he can get what he deserves. What he's earned. He is the Dark Lord of the Sith and his will is law. None can challenge him. He is the most powerful person alive.
Except, he isn't.
It doesn't take long for problems to arise. Bastila escapes with Revan's body and continues to be a thorn in his side with her battle meditation. Malak crushes all resistance, but he leaves behind dead and ruined worlds. His subjects are graves. His Sith Empire is already half ash. And just when it seems like he's caught the Republic's one ace in the hole, she slips through his grasp, alongside some Republic pilot and a few vagrants and-
She survived.
Of course she did.
And then their reunion. Malak boards the Leviathan and meets his old master, but something's different. Her signature in the Force is...duller. She lacks the spark in her eyes that drove armies to the edge of the Galaxy and back without question. And then it clicks.
He can't help but laugh. There's no joy in it. They duel, but not before that fly of a padawan interrupts them. They don't see each other again until the Star Forge and Malak is ready. The Star Forge is operating at maximum efficiency. The Republic is outnumbered and outmatched. Malak is stronger than he's ever been. The ancient space station fuels his power, dark tendrils in the Force curling around the Jedi he's captured and squeezing their souls dry. Revan makes her appearance, wearing a cheap imitation of her old armor. A few words are exchanged before they duel. Malak is at the very peak of his power. He's stronger than he's ever been. The Force bends and shifts around him as the last flashes of light inside are eclipsed by the might of the Star Forge. Malak fights with the full power of the Dark Side behind him and-
He just doesn't-
Have it.
Darth Malak, Dark Lord of the Sith, Master of the Star Forge, rightful Ruler of the Galaxy, just can't beat Revan.
He isn't made of the right stuff.
He lost this fight before he was born.
And he knows he's lost. He's always known. Below the anger and rage and resentment that's been bubbling for years for his friendgeneralsister old master, there's fear. And for just a fraction of a second, it overtakes him.
That's all Revan needs.
Revan's lightsaber carves a charred canyon across Malak's chest. There's shock for a moment, but it only lasts a moment. He knows that there's no other way this could have ended.
"This is the way of the Dark Side, Malak; all things end in death."
Malak craned his head up, flickering yellow eyes meeting Revan's. His jaw aches. "Still spouting the wisdom of the Jedi, I see. Maybe there is more truth in their code than I ever believed." The pain is coming in stinging bursts. Malak feels his eyes start to burn. "I...I cannot help but wonder, Revan. What would have happened had our positions been reversed?" There's a hopeful edge to his voice. "What if fate decreed that I would be captured by the Jedi? Could I have returned to the light, as you did?" His voice modulator strains as it tries to translate a pained cough. "If you had not led me down the dark path in the first place, what destiny would I have found?"
Revan's jaw clenches. "I am sorry that I led you down this path," Malak can make out that her cheeks are wet. "But you chose to continue down it." She says weakly.
Malak's chest rises and falls with desperate breaths. "I suppose you speak the truth. I am alone responsible for my fate. I wanted to be Master of the Sith and ruler of the galaxy. That destiny was not mine." Another cough. "It might have been yours, but never mine."
In the end, as the darkness takes me, I am nothing.
