Cinnamon Sugar Waffle (“I change my mind, I like you, okay?”) [MODERN AU]

Characters: Scaramouche, Diluc, Xiao x fem!reader

Warnings: not proofread, swearing and profanities, I got carried away with Scaramouche’s >_> Xiao’s is also a little different, it doesn’t really end with dating, but close enough, I think?

Notes: I ran into a wall while writing this one. Specially for these boys. But thank you for the challenge! I must say, I think I wrote this one nicely... Not tryna brag but it DID take me a while XD Let me know what you think. Scaramouche

The two of you were like two opposites that were drawn together. People always wondered why someone like you would associate with someone like him. Charming and agreeable Y/N with gruff and harsh Scaramouche.

The door to your classroom slides open with a loud CLACK, revealing none other than him. His uniform is untucked, he could get a demerit for that, his school bag thrown over his shoulder haphazardly. All eyes are on him. He might be smaller in stature compared to the other boys, but his presence was immense.

His eyes land on you.

“Oi, idiot, hurry up, get going,” He throws his thumb over his shoulder to signal he was going ahead. Your classmates look at you. Some of them surprised, some with pity in their eyes, some just amused. “H-Hey! Wait!” You scramble to pack your bag, just shoving everything you needed in there and ran out after him. “Scara!!” He wasn’t very far off, but you still pant when you reach him.

“Tsk, you’re always so slow,” you frown and glare a little, “It’s because I have to think carefully which books I need to take home!” You glance at his bag, he’s holding it as if nothing’s in there. “Unlike you who doesn’t even take his homework seriously!” You chide and he smirks.

“Oho, when did you start getting feisty?”

“...Maybe because I spend too much time with you,” you mutter but he clearly hears it and he cackles. “Now you’re complaining? We’ve seen each other in diapers,”

He’s relentless with his teasing remarks and harsh comments. But you were the only one who could really take them. You knew he never meant any harm.

Today after school was quite special. He was going to get a new guitar, and you had to come with to help him choose. He’s had his old one for years and he finally saved up enough to get a new one. “...and then Tartaglia, that asshole, broke his drumsticks,” he was talking about his bandmates. You’ve met them before, a group of weird individuals who had their own little quirks. It was a little intimidating. Scaramouche didn’t seem too happy about you meeting them, actually.

“Maybe this one...?” He picks out another guitar, by this point it’d been nearly an hour of looking. You tilt your head at it and shake your head. “No, mmm... how about...” You look around the music store, rows and rows of acoustic and electric guitars that passing your vision. “Oh! That one!” You point at a dark purple acoustic guitar, with a matte finish. “Looks like it’d suit you,”

So he takes that one, and tries it out before deciding on it. You watch him play a calming melody on it. It was strange. How he was always so rough and sometimes loud but when he played the guitar he was a totally different person. Well... except when he was using an electric one.

It was that guitar he ended up taking to band practice the next day. Little did he know that you’d also prepared an extra gift for him weeks before. A customized guitar pick, purple too, with his name painted and glossed on it. They were supposed perform in the school festival soon, and it was his first performance, so you thought it would be a good gift.

“I don’t like Y/N like that,” you stopped at the door leading to the band room, it was slightly ajar, enough for you to hear everything. You didn’t tell him you were coming. “It’s disgusting, we’re practically siblings,” you step away from the door instinctively when you hear some of his band mates laughing. “So you’re okay if I go ask her out right now?” you don’t quite know who asks, but Scaramouche scoffs “Go ahead, the hell I care,”

Your hold on the small velvet pouch where the guitar pick was in tightens. Turning away to walk back to your classroom, it doesn’t quite hit you that you were extremely hurt until it was nearly time to go home. He’d walk home with you, like always, but today, you wanted to disappear before he even arrived at your classroom.

The door to your classroom once again opens with a loud CLACK. “Oi, idiot, I told you to hurry--” his eyes scan the classroom. Once, twice and another time. Then his shoulders slump.

You’re not there.

Strange.

You never walked back by yourself. It was always with him. His face contorts into an annoyed glare, a irk mark would form on his forehead. He slams the classroom door close, and sprints towards the shoe lockers. He pants as he looks around and gets even more annoyed when he doesn’t find you there either. He whips his phone out and dials your number.

You didn’t answer. Not even when he called three times.

“What the... I swear--” He grumbles and ends up walking home by himself. The walk home was quiet. It was a little...empty. Even when he arrives home and rests his guitar on the wall, it’s a little strange. It’s incomplete. He can’t think of anything except you and it pisses him off. He clicks his tongue again and takes his phone out, attempting to call you once again.

Nothing.

He face plants on his desk. “The hell... is she avoiding me...?” What did he do wrong? Just yesterday you’d picked out the guitar for him, this morning you seemed totally fine too and he didn’t see you in the afternoon--

His head perks up.

‘So you’re okay if I go ask ‘em out right now?’

Without thinking much about it he dials Tartaglia’s phone. His band mate picks up with a cheerful, “What’sup?”

“Did you ask Y/N out?” Scaramouche immediately asks. Tartaglia laughs on the other line, “Yeah, I did! I walked home with ‘em today!” Scaramouche stiffens up. You walked home with someone else other than him today. Why did that bother him so much? “A-And? That’s it?” Scaramouche further asks.

“We’re going on a date tomorrow after school, I broke my drumsticks, remember? They’re gunna help me pick new ones!” Scaramouche nearly drops his phone in shock. You... were going to help someone else with their shopping. He grips his phone tight and presses it into his ear harshly.

Someone else was going to enjoy your presence.

Someone else was going to get to see your stupid thinking face while you try to pick out something.

Pretty soon you’d be hitting and punching Tartaglia’s shoulder instead of his.

“...Yo? Scaramouche?” Tartaglia notes the long silence on the other line. Scaramouche snaps back to reality. “...No,”

“Huh?” Tartaglia asks.

“No, you’re not taking Y/N out!” He ends the call and sprints out of his room, racing down the stairs to the front door, jumping on one foot while trying to pull his shoes on. Your house was nearby. He’d be damned before he lets you date Tartaglia.

The sharp DING DONG startles you. You’re not even out of your uniform yet and your parents weren’t home. “Coming!” you shout and open the door without thinking much of it.

Scaramouche has his hands on his knees, panting. Your mouth opens in wonder, watching him catch his breath. “You--” gasp “Did you--” gasp “agree to go on a date with that asshole?!” he whips his head up to glare at you and you reel back a little. “Uhm, what? No...?” you respond, wondering what in the world was happening.

“Bullshit! Don’t lie to me!”

You furrow your eyebrows at that and yell back “I’m not lying to you! Did you come here just to yell at me?!” Scaramouche is taken aback. You never take that tone towards him. “I’m going back in,” you turn away from him and pull the door to close it, but he wedges his foot in to stop you. “Oi! I’m here to talk to you damnit!”

“About what?” You glare at him through the small gap at the door. “About why you didn’t wait for me after-school!”

“I wasn’t feeling well so I went home quickly!”

“Seriously, stop lying to me!”

“...Scara...”

Once again he’s surprised at the change of voice level. Suddenly he could barely hear you, and you wouldn’t look him in the eye. “Could you just leave me alone for today? Please?”

There’s a moment of silence between the two of you, and it aches. The fact that he has never been without you hits him so hard that there’s a little bit of panic in his veins. “...J-Just.. Just today,” he says, as if trying to convince you and himself that everything would be back to normal tomorrow. There must be a reason why this was happening, so he came to terms with letting you handle it yourself for now. He moves his foot away and your door closes almost immediately.

He stays there for a while, feeling shut out and slightly lost. He sighs to himself, taking his phone out as he decides to go home. There’s a message from Tartaglia.

“Dude, I was just joking. Don’t get your underwear in a twist,”

He growls under his breath and swears he’ll knock some sense into Tartaglia tomorrow.

But when tomorrow came, and as he sat at the band room absentmindedly strumming on his guitar, he found that he didn’t have the mood to do so. He couldn’t find you in the morning. He couldn’t find you in lunch time. There was a certain fear deep in him that he wouldn’t be able to find you anymore, at all.

After-school, he tries again, he even runs to your classroom, but you weren’t there. He walks home with defeat again today. By the end of the week on Friday, he’s anxious. He felt like he was losing you and it was driving him crazy. So, he took it upon himself to ring your doorbell again, this time your mother answered. “Oh, Scaramouche! Haven’t seen you in a while!”

Scaramouche rubs the back of his neck... “Hi Mrs. (last name)... Is Y/N in?” He wasn’t a stranger in your house. After all, his mother and yours were good friends. That’s how the two of you became friends too. “Yeap, upstairs, just go on in, I’ll be in the kitchen.”

He’s nervous as he stands outside your door. It’s been four days that he hasn’t seen you, and yet it felt like forever. He knocks on your door and you easily say “Come in!” thinking it was your mother. He opens it to find you on your study desk, doing homework. You hadn’t noticed it was him, so he softly closes the door and just watches you concentrate.

Pen in your mouth, bad habit of yours, but he found it cute sometimes. The way your hair frames your face. The way your brows furrow when you’re focusing. “What is it--” You finally pick your head up and turn, then freeze.

“...Hey,” he sees you nervously swallow, and he wonders why. “Just... wanted to check in on you,” your put your pen down and nod, “Oh, yeah,” it’s awkward and he doesn’t know what to do with the silence. Neither did you. You didn’t quite expect this.

“What...What’s happening?” Scaramouche finally asks. You turn to your homework, explaining “Oh, I was just doing some algebra--”

“No, Y/N, to us. What’s happening to us?”

You bite the inside of your cheek.

“...Nothing. We just... Don’t you think we spend too much time together?”

“So you don’t wanna hang out with me anymore?”

“That’s not what I said--”

“That’s exactly what you said,”

“I--” Finally you bury your face into your hands. It was hard for you too. To realize that you must like him more than just a friend. No matter how much you tried to deny it all you could hear was him saying ‘it’s disgusting,’

“If I tell you will you leave me alone?”

“Depends,” he shrugs, even with his arms crossed. He’s starting to get pissed.

“It’s not digusting,” you start in a whisper. He tilts his head in confusion, eyes narrowing at you. “What?”

“I don’t think it’s disgusting, that I like you,” It takes him a while to piece things together. Where is this disgusting thing coming from? And did you just say that you like him? His forehead is seriously scrunched up now. “Why would it be disgusti--” it’s as if his brain realizes it in slow motion.

“It’s disgusting, we’re practically siblings,”

“...That... That’s not really what I wanted to say that time...” Scaramouche slowly explains. Realizing that your reason for avoiding him was that you overheard that conversation. His hands clasp into fists. He doesn’t know why he’s so angry at himself.

“It doesn’t matter anyway Scaramouche, we’re just friends...” You mutter and continue doing your homework. “...I’ve told you, so can you leave me alone now?”

He opens his mouth to say something, but is unable to think of a valid reason. He’s angry, but mostly frightened. This is what it comes to? Is what he was thinking. This is where you and him part ways? Like this?

“Fuck this, I’m not leaving,” He plops on your floor stubbornly and glares at the back of your head. Your turn your head and incredulously stare at him. “What? You’re just gunna sit there? Fine, do that then,” and continue with your homework.

“Why are you so--ugh. Fine!!” He stands up again, but this time he stomps toward your table and looks you eye to eye. “Fine! That’s exactly what I said, alright? B-But--” he grits his teeth and there’s an expression of desperation in his eyes. “But I take it back! I hate it! I hate it when Tartaglia keeps messing with my head telling me he’s gunna ask you out! It’s not just him! I hate it when I think of you with someone else!” For a moment you think that there’s a little bit of gloss in his eyes. “I haven’t seen you in four days! It felt like forever! I-I can’t be JUST friends with you anymore, it sucks!”

Your eyes widen, your hand losing grip on your pen. “Go out with me,” Your jaw slowly opens in awe. Was he just doing this out of pity, or did he really feel that way? You take one look at his face and how he suffers and you know that it’s real. “I-Are you sure?” You ask and he pinches the bridge of his nose. “Were you even listening to anything I was saying? Yes, I’m sure. Didn’t you just say you like me too? Just say yes, damnit,”

There’s a slight peach on his cheeks, and he’s looked away, pretending that the wall was interesting. Your head leans forward and touches his shoulder, you close your eyes cause you feel like it might just be a dream that was happening too fast, but he hesitantly wraps one arm round your shoulders, and you’re still awake. “...Fine, I’ll go out with you.” You finally answer as if you were forced, but there was a smile on your face. He sighs in relief pushes you back and flicks your forehead, “Don’t pull that disappearing shit on me again, I swear,”

You laugh a little and scratch your cheek in embarrassment, explaining that you didn’t know how to face him. The two of you fall into conversation rather naturally again. It was easy, since the two of you had basically been in each other’s presence since you were young.

In the next moment, you’re grabbing the velvet pouch with the custom guitar pick in it and hand it to him. “It’s a good luck gift, for your first performance,” You eagerly watch as he opens it, takes it out, and becomes silent. His eyes are tracing the shape of the pick, and he looks at his name, nicely written in the centre.

He can’t describe how happy he is, even if he didn’t show it. He thinks about using it on the school stage and gets a little giddy inside. You watch as his face starts to go red, then he covers his eyes and tilts his head back, possibly trying to hide his flushed face from you.

“Fuck, I should’ve asked you out a long time ago,”

Diluc

“Why not just ask Y/N?” Kaeya takes a sip of water while he converses with his brother, his eyes glinting as he follows every expression on the red-head’s face.

“Y/N? I don’t think it’d work out,” he said in a rather nonchalant manner. They’re in his office. In the middle of dropping papers off to Diluc, Kaeya suddenly had a great idea for Diluc.

“It’s just to appease our mother. It doesn’t have to “work out”, brother,” He stands and leaves the glass of water behind. Diluc’s office was huge. The man had everything. A business inherited from his father. Wealth. And a thriving career. Everything... except one important thing, according to their mother.

A girlfriend.

Diluc sighs as he looks through the papers. “I understand mother’s concerns... but I’m not really interested in that kind of thing at the moment... I’d really like it if I just went at my own pace.”

“Yeah, except you told her you found a girlfriend already!” Kaeya laughs at Diluc’s pissed off face. It was rare that his brother slipped up. He supposed that his brother was just too annoyed at their mother’s badgering, and finally, last time, during the family dinner. Diluc had blurted out, “I already have someone, mother,” Mostly because their mother was starting to make plans to arrange dates for Diluc.

“And now she’s dying to see her!” Kaeya laughs again, slapping his knee in the process. “Kaeya if you’re all done here, get out,” Diluc sighs again and sends his brother a glare. Kaeya shrugs and waves a hand behind him. “I’m tellin ya ‘Luc, just ask Y/N. I’m sure she wouldn’t mind pretending,”

What exactly did Kaeya mean that you ‘wouldn’t mind pretending’? Diluc wonders. The two of you were good friends since high school, but it wasn’t like it was anything more than friendship.

He’d forgotten about the whole ordeal while working. He didn’t really have time to think about how to fool his mother that he had a date. Him being him, he probably should really just tell his mother the truth: he didn’t have anyone. But how? How, when he takes a break from work and looks at his phone, he reads a message from his mother.

“I’m so excited to meet her! You’ll take her to tomorrow’s dinner right?”

And just like that Diluc deflates. This was such a bad idea. He should’ve just kept his mouth shut.

And so, that’s how he lands a phone call with you. You listen carefully as he explains the situation. Even laughed at it like Kaeya does and readily agree to be his “date” for the night. “Thanks, Y/N, I owe you one,” he says, phone wedged in between his shoulder and head, trying to open his car door. “Yep, you do! But uh...” you hesitate a bit. “I mean, you can’t keep fooling your mom like that...” You suggest. It really wasn’t his style, but you understood where he was coming from. Still, you had to point him to the right path.

“Yeah... I’ll... figure that one out. I can’t quite imagine dating you for real anyway,” He said it offhandedly, but you were somehow secretly offended. You knew Diluc could be relaxed with his words when he was comfortable with someone, but still, it was a little surprising. Was it because he found you unattractive? Or your attitude was off? “Ahaha...” you managed to force a laugh out.

When the dinner came around you wore a simple, pastel blue, a-line dress. Diluc picks you up at your house, he’s in a casual white, button up shirt, the top two buttons are undone though and his sleeves are rolled up, just for ease of driving. His pants are a dark brown, and his hair pulled up into the signature ponytail.

He looks so good that you wish the two of you weren’t pretending.

As you slip into the front seat of his black sedan, he does a double take, noting that you’ve done yourself up. Not that he didn’t think you were pretty, but with a bit of makeup and your hair down, it was quite charming.

“So...what’s the rules?” You ask, smoothing your hair down, a little nervous. The thing is, you’ve already met Diluc’s family. Back in high school, when the three of you, with Kaeya, would do study sessions. It was mostly for Kaeya really. Diluc was pretty good with his studies. “Rules?” Diluc says as he finally pries his eyes away from you, focusing on the road. “You know, no kissing, no hand holding? Are all those allowed?” Diluc didn’t really think about that, he didn’t think there was a need for it. “I should be asking you that, I wouldn’t want to... impose,” he ends and you think about it for a while.

“It’s not like we’d have to do those things, right? Well... As for me, just don’t kiss me on the lips...” You shrug. He blinks at that, but agrees.

When the two of you are outside of his house--a rather modern and big one, by the way--he holds his hand out for you and you take it, twining your fingers with his. The warmth was really inviting, and his hands were firm yet comfortable at the same time.

It was at that moment that you thought: This could be a mistake.

“Hello there dear--” The maid answers the door, but his mother is waiting too. His mother’s eyes slowly widen and a big smile appears on her face. “Well if it isn’t Y/N! Oh, darling, I haven’t seen you in a while! Goodness, if it wasn’t for you Kaeya would’ve failed his math exams, I remember that like yesterday,” His mother goes off on a tangent, and Diluc watches as you eagerly converse with her. The smile on your face is genuine, and he appreciates that, even though this was just an act, you still treated his family with respect and authenticity.

“Well, well, look who it is,” Kaeya is the next one who greets you, hands crossed over his chest. You grin back at him, “Your Math tutor, at your service,” you curtsy at him playfully and he chuckles, putting his hand out to you. “May I escort you to our dining room?” You’ve been there before, but Kaeya is just being playful. As you lift your hand, about to accept Kaeya’s offer, you’re tugged backwards. You’d forgotten that your other hand was entwined with Diluc’s, and it was him who had tugged you away.

Kaeya’s eyebrow raises at his brother, though there’s a small glint in his eyes. “...I’ll take her there,” Diluc says quietly. “Oh? Well, suit yourself, brother,” Kaeya chuckles before disappearing into the large hallway, seemingly amused. Diluc doesn’t know what’s come over him. Seeing that you were about to hold Kaeya’s hand... It was a little unsettling. You blink up at him, wondering why he looked so lost in thought, still, you complimented him on his acting. “Wow, really playing the jealous part, huh?” You didn’t know that Kaeya was in on the act too.

Diluc is stunned into silence.

Jealous? He thinks to himself.

Since when? Is his second thought.

The incident repeats itself again, when Kaeya--Diluc is sure that he’s doing it on purpose now--tells you that “You have a little something over there,” the blue-haired man points at your cheek, maneuvers his hand so that it looks like he’s about to brush it off for you “Kaeya,” When Diluc looks at Kaeya, he already has a mischievous look on his face and is looking at Diluc eye to eye. “I’ll do it,” Diluc says, rather resentfully towards his brother, who smirks.

“Look over here, Y/N,” You turn your head towards Diluc, curiosity still evident in your eyes. There’s a small crumb on the side of your lips. He cups your cheek gently and brushes it away with his thumb. The act is intimate. So much that it brings a hue of pink on your cheeks.

We’re just acting, you remind yourself, before continuing to eat. The dinner table is lively. Their father isn’t there, had to stay late at the office, it seems. “So that’s where you get your hardworking streak from,” When you turn to him with such a bright smile and admiration in your eyes he wonders if you’d always been this way. “...Yeah,” is the only thing he could breathily reply.

“Well I think we’re ready for a little bit of dessert aren’t we?” Their mother says, “Oh, I actually brought a little something today,” You say, politely asking one of the maids to bring out the cookies you got. They’ve done so, and even arranged it on a plate properly. You’re reminded again of how posh Diluc’s household was. His mother gasps, “Are these the cookies from that bakery at the town fair? Oh these are marvellous!”

And it dawns on Diluc all too suddenly.

You fit in so well.

It’s like you were part of the family.

Like it wasn’t all pretend.

He’s silent as he drives you back home while you were just excitedly chatting about how it was nice to see Kaeya and his mother again. He stops the car outside your house, but as you’re about to leave, pulling the lever to the car door, he speaks up. “...Can I take you out again?”

Your head whips back towards him, surprised. “Like, pretend, right?”

There’s a moment of silence, Diluc opens his mouth to speak but closes it again. Then your eyes widen. You know what he’s trying to say. “Not... pretend... I mean... for real,”

You sit back comfortably on the car seat, you feel like this is going to take a while to talk about. “But you... uh... you said you can’t quite imagine dating me for real...” You go back to the telephone conversation you had with him.

He sighs at that and pushes his head back towards the car seat. “I--I don’t know why I said that, it’s just... We’ve been friends for a while, I just thought if something were to happen it should’ve happened a long time ago...” He rubs the side of his neck, not knowing where this conversation was going.

“Well, you never really asked me out, so I thought you weren’t interested...” You trail off, watching him be awkward with himself.

“...You mean to say if I asked you out in high school you would’ve said yes?”

You’re silent for a moment, shifting in your seat slightly. Embarrassed of the high school crush confession you were about to make. “Well, yeah, I mean, you’re not bad...” You’re gorgeous, is what you wanted to say.

Diluc lets out a breathy laugh. But he doesn’t regret it. He hardly thought high school was the right time for that kind of thing. “Well, I’m asking you now, for real. Still interested?” He suddenly gets a confident streak in him, it’s like a little bit of Kaeya showing through, reminding you that they were indeed, brothers.

“Hmmm... I don’t know, am I?” You playfully ask, smirking at him and pulling on the lever of the car door again, but before you push it open, you lean forward and land a quick kiss on his cheek. “Thanks for taking me out tonight, ‘Luc. Text me when you’re home safe,” you whisper and finally climb out of the car.

Rather than using words, Diluc realizes there were several other ways to express interest.

He absentmindedly thumbs the cheek you kissed, shy smile on his face as he watches you wave at him and enter your house.

Xiao

Classmates. Other than that, there was nothing much between the two of you. Though, one could say that you were one of the nicest girls in class. Very quiet. Focused. Took your work seriously. Friendly.

Xiao was exactly the same, except for the friendly part. He kept to himself, most of the time.

You started to notice that Xiao was always the last pick. Group projects. Pair Work. Even in PE. No one wanted him in their team. Either that, or they begrudgingly took him.

You didn’t quite understand why.

Sure, he kept to himself. He had a really sharp gaze in his eyes. Almost like it could cut through someone. But he hadn’t done anything to make anyone wary of him. He was just... quiet.

So when you’d finally mustered up the courage one day, and presented with the opportunity when the teacher said “You need to work in pairs” you tapped his shoulder and asked with a small smile. “Wanna work together?”

He was shocked. It was the first time that he got picked. Then, in the next second, the shocked expression was gone, replaced by a frown. Still, he said “Sure,”

You scheduled study sessions with him and he didn’t mind anything that you said at all. That project passed by smoothly and you came to know that he wasn’t a bad person. Just really quiet.

The next few projects went the same way.

“Do you wanna be in our group?”

“Do you wanna be in our team?”

“We still have space for one more!”

It was always you who was asking. But still, because of that, people got to talking to him. In group settings, the other guys started to talk to him and he finally got to converse with other people. He didn’t think it would matter much to him, high school friendship, but he found that it was easier to survive and go through every day when he had companions. When he had someone who at least wasn’t repulsed by his presence.

“Bye Xiao, see you tomorrow!” You wave at him as you walk home with your girl friends. He absentmindedly waves back at you, and gets up to get ready to go too, when one of the other guys slings their arm around Xiao’s shoulder, “We’re going to the arcade today, you should come!” He’s dumbfounded. Since when did he become accepted?

Every day, it’s as if life was a little easy on the shoulders for him. Suddenly he wasn’t alone. There were people around him who actually liked and understood his brooding ways. And in the centre of that?

His head turns to look at you huddled with your friends while you were eating lunch.

You opened up his world. He was quite sure of that.

But with his world opened up, not everything that came with it was good. High school came with a lot of different things. Both friends and enemies.

His back slams on the wall as another classmate pushes him against it. “Now that you have friends you think you’re so cool, huh?”

Xiao only levels his gaze at the bully. “...I never said that,”

“You sure act like it!” And his jaw gets hit painfully, leaving him on the floor, lip bleeding.

The next morning he shows up to school with gauze plastered on his cheek. Lip bruised. You take a look at him but didn’t have the chance to ask. You only did so after-school, when you had the chance to walk up to him and ask. “Xiao, are you ok? Did something happen?” You ask.

He grits his teeth. He can’t help but be angry at you. If he had stayed as he was, like before, keeping to himself. This wouldn’t have happened. He shakes his head, not wanting to talk about it. Not wanting to talk to you. “...If someone’s bothering you maybe you should--”

“Shut up.”

His guy friends turn to listen to the conversation the two of you were having. Xiao is glaring at you with anger in his eyes. “Shut up. Leave me alone. Stop being so annoying all the time, I don’t need you watching over me!” You step back, face blank. “O-Oh, okay,” then, silently, you head back to your table and grab your bag, disappearing out of the door in moments.

“...A little harsh, I’d say,” Xingqiu says while patting Xiao’s shoulder. Xiao swerves his head to look at his group of guy friends. They’re still there and they’re all just looking at him and waiting.

Were they not deterred? Disgusted by what he just said? Shouldn’t they be leaving him alone now?

Gorou punches a fist on his own hand. “Alright, Xiao, we’ll beat you up later for yelling at Y/N like that, but right now let’s go find the guys that beat you up, eh?”

And then he understands. The world that you’ve opened up for him may have some bad things in them... but the good far outweighed it.

He instantly regrets snapping at you. “...S’not worth it...” Xiao says, rubbing his shoulder. Chongyun shrugs, “Well, the least you could do is point them out, so we can watch out for them next time,”

How his friends knew that it was someone from school, he would never know, perhaps it was just their instinct.

The next few days is spent with Xiao stealing glances from you. You seem to be fine, still talking to your friends happily. Still, he can’t get the guilt off of his chest.

When the next pair work presents itself Xiao turns around to try and ask you, but you’d already asked one of your girl friends. “Xiao, pair up with me,” Gorou says, and Xiao could only agree, eyes still watching you converse with your friend.

His friends start to notice that he’s a little more miserable than normal, they figured it had something to do with you. “Have you apologized to her yet, Xiao?” Xingqiu asks as the group walks towards the town centre. “...No,” he averts his eyes. “Ah, so that’s why you’re so upset. She hasn’t talked to you in a week!” Gorou laughs and Xiao only glares at him. “...She seems to be fine, so I’ll leave it like that.”

“She might be fine, but are you?” Xingqiu yet again chides his friend. Xiao is hesitant to answer and that was an answer enough for the group of friends.

So come Monday, when you were the student on duty, responsible for cleaning up the classroom and wiping the board clean before you go home. Xiao’s group of friends urges him to stay behind and help you. Xiao watches, slightly sweatdropping as Chongyun gives him a thumbs up from the door. Xingqiu waving a hand to “shoo” him away. Gorou grinning widely and mouthing “good luck!” as the three of them shut the door, leaving only you and him behind.

You hadn’t even noticed. You were just checking your books and bag, until you see another pair of shoes come into sight. Your eyes trail up and see Xiao there, looking away, yet seemingly wanting to say something.

“...Xiao?” You ask. Truth be told, you took what he said to heart but had the same thought process as him. He looked fine, so you left it at that. He mumbles something, but you couldn’t hear and politely ask him to repeat it.

“Sorry,” he repeats a little louder. “You’re not annoying,” he explains, and that was more than enough for you. You don’t question his reason for saying it, but he offers it up himself. “I was just... pissed off, that time,” you nod, accepting his explanation easily. “I’d never hate you,”

You straighten up a little at his words, wondering why your heart was starting to quicken. “You chose me when no one else did, so I... I’ll always...” There’s a hint of red on his cheeks, and he doesn’t meet your gaze, but his words are clear and sincere. “I’ll always cherish you for that,”

Something in your heart blooms. Something that you never knew was there. As you look at him, his face illuminated by the sunlight from the window, you can’t help but be in awe at how far he’s come.

And yet, for him, who’s looking at the sky slowly turning orange, he can’t help but be in awe at how much his life has changed ever since you accepted him.

Do you have any thoughts on the relationship basta had with other blackjackets? I mean, it's as clear as day that he held authority in our world and how it's been nothing but business type of shallow, but what about Inkworld? Do you think he holds someone in high regard back there, someone who made an impression on him when he was young and new(excluding caprisun)? Hearts of ash arose some trivial questions and it's been on my mind everytime I revisist ao3

Well, I like to think that there was someone he liked. I know Basta is shown to not like anyone aside from Capricorn, but I can really well imagine him secretly wanting to be liked. He enjoys bragging about his evil deeds. When he locked Meggie and Elinor into the stables in Inkheart, he apparently said something to the boy he had with him that made the boy laugh. You don't have to interpret it that way, it's just sort of my little pet theory. Maybe he wants to be liked, and when people don't do so, he can still go all "I don't need you anyway". And if people hate him - perhaps negative attention is better than being ignored. He was an unhappy child after all.

It's all a little difficult because we know so little about the villains' backstories.

Basta certainly had some attachment to Fulvio: Basta goes out of his way (he risks Capricorn's disapproval) to tell Mo that he will pay for accidentally disappearing Fulvio. Granted, Basta never follows up on this threat, but... My idea is that Fulvio might have been some sort of mentor for Basta; however, I've also seen the theory that Fulvio could have been a boy from our world who Basta mentored - that's also a cool theory! (I've spent the last half-hour looking for the post and couldn't find it though -.- Does anyone know which one I mean?)

I'm also wondering about his relationship to Firefox. We don't see them interact, but the Piper mentions they're both unhappy with serving the Adder. So, do these two get along? Complaining about their new boss over a beer in the evening? XD And Firefox was Capricorn's second in command back in the original Inkheart. Maybe Basta would also hope to get Firefox's approval?

And finally, while writing Hearts of Ash, I also thought that maybe his relationships to Cockerell and Flatnose and the others might have been better back when they were in the book. Not exactly good, but a little better, and it got worse when Basta suddenly was in charge of them? I honestly don't know...

So, long story short, I think it's perfectly possible that there is someone Basta holds in high regard aside from Capricorn, but who knows...

-you’re also now the honorary judge for literally every single competition

-he’s got blankets and he’s got snacks

-you just wave him over and let him sit on your bed

-then Leo shows up, no offering other than his presence

-don’t bother trying to push him away he’s gonna watch that movie with you and Mikey even if it kills him

-once you three are settled, Donnie shows up with a movie projector so you don’t have to watch on a tiny phone

-he ends up staying, even though he denied that he would

-Raph shows up with pillows for everyone, the only turtle to actually ASK to join

-you can’t say no to the giant teddy bear

-you may have started off by yourself in your dark room but you ended in a giant cuddle puddle with your roommates

-sometimes though you don’t have time to hang out with them

-school

-school happens

-you have to deny them because of homework

-Mikey will help you with flash cards, decorating them so they’re fun and make learning interesting

-Donnie studies with you and probably knows the material better

-he’ll help you so it’ll be over faster

-Raph is simply your company

-he’ll sit quietly in your room and play relaxing music, offering any advice or comments he had

-Leo just tries to convince you to ignore it

-it’ll still be there tomorrow! As of right now, he needs you to watch the skating tournament with him

-once you’ve got everything done you’re immediately dragged into whatever shenanigans they’ve got going on

-you’re also the self appointed camera man, using your phone to capture every harebrained plan AND failure

-living with them isn’t always sunshine and rainbows, but it sure is never boring

Doing Their Makeup

Poly Lost Boys, Michael and Star x Gender neutral reader

Basically came up with these while I was messaging @aliypop . Thank you for somehow getting me to a place where I wanted to write an imagine about the lost boys, Michael and Star’s partner wanting to do their makeup. XD This is everyone x reader.

Also this is kind of my head-canon that Michael and Star became one happy family with David, Dwayne, Paul and Marko. But Max still died cause I don’t think anyone likes him.

Masterlist

The second you told your partners that you wanted to do their makeup, each and everyone one of them were down with the idea, but at all different degrees of being okay with it.

Paul was the first one to practically bounce his way over to you. He already needed your help with doing his simple eyeliner on a daily basis so you paying attention to his face for more than a few minutes made him a very happy camper.

Paul LOVES it. I mean it. Give him the whole glam rock look! Glitter? Yes! Winged eyeliner? Yes! Bitch, make him look like a disco ball and he will be very happy. He loves glitter more than any of them and will directly ask you to use as much as you wanted.

When doing his makeup, he always smiles, loving that your attention was solely on him. Though you have to scold him not to smile because the crinkle in his eyes will totally mess up whatever eyeshadow or eyeliner look you're trying to accomplish. He complies… for about two minutes.

This boy will have you straddling him as you work, his hands on your hips, rubbing little circles into your skin softly. He practically becomes putty in your hands as you gently touch his face. He finds it absolutely adorable that you're being so delicate with him.

When you're done, he shows it off to everyone around the cave. His babe of a partner went all out and he will brag that his makeup is going to be better than everyone else's once you are done.

Second would be Marko. Seeing how good you were with Paul, he was excited to see what kind of look you would give him. He wasn’t too much into glitter like his fellow blonde but he was okay if you wanted to use it. Makeup to him was an artistic form of expression so he became your canvas on which to paint on.

Seeing you figure what colors you wanted to give him and what tools you wanted to use would make him smile with how serious you were taking this task. He would ask you as you worked what your ideas were and you thought looked best on him.

Your bodies would be close, not sitting in his lap close, but your legs would be locked together as you sat on your makeshift bed. His hands fiddling with whatever piece of clothing he could get his hands on. It was very hard not to touch you and he wanted you to fulfill your wish for the night.

By the end of it, Marko’s makeup look would have half of the amount of glitter that Paul had. It would be very colorful, almost reflecting the multiple colors of his jacket. Marko was a little easier compared to the others because of those colors, you had more options to work with.

Marko reacted like Paul, showing it off to everyone. Soon him and Paul compared their looks and pointed out what they liked about them.

Dwayne was third. He wasn’t overly into it, but he loves seeing you happy and if doing his makeup was going to put a smile on your face, then he was happy to do it. He did have a few things to say though, he was okay with a little glitter but nowhere near Paul's and heck, maybe even half of what you did to Marko. Also, no colors that were too bright.

From that, you only choose a few warm hues, some reds, oranges and a tiny bit of yellow. Even some earthy tones to complement his tanned skin. In a way you connected it with the jaguar on his leather jacket.

Dwayne would have his hands placed on your thighs as you worked, saying only a few words here and there, asking simple questions if he was curious about something. If anything he was the calmest one of the bunch, not really interrupting your process.

In a way it was nice. While you worked, you didn’t really talk, too focused on the task at hand and he thought it was cute when you would bite your lip in concentration. The silence that sometimes hung between you two was sweet, like you both were in your own little world. Minus the fact that Paul and Marko were just outside your makeshift area in the cave making noise.

When Dwayne was done, he placed a small kiss on your lips and walked out. He didn’t really show off to the others but he couldn’t help but smirk when Paul and Marko grew silent at his new look.

David was the fourth and probably the one that wasn’t overly crazy about it. If he was going to have glitter, it was going to be tasteful and very little of it. Dark colors only, and if you want to stick on gems, guess what, they better be little and it's gotta be sexy. Make him a sexy princely creature of the night and you are good.

For once, he let you have control, even with his requests orders on what you can and cannot do. You went to work, both of your knees touching and you had to constantly stop him from moving, trying to smoke his cigarette. In the end, you lost against him cause if he couldn’t smoke a cigarette to distract himself from your hands being so gentle with him, they were going somewhere else and you would get nothing done.

In between his puffs of smoke, you poured everything into his look wanting it to be perfect because you definitely wanted to do it again in the future. The only way he would let you is if you did a bang up job.

You made his facial features sharp and his icy blue eyes seemed to pierce through your soul even more with the dark eyeshadow on his eyelids. A little bit of glitter and a few small black gemstones later, he was beautiful. Definitely different from what you were used to, but with David, he could pull off anything and he’d still look good.

With a smirk, he thanked you for your work, which surprised you, and walked back out to the others. You chuckled when you heard Paul exclaim “Holy shit!” when he saw David. Needless to say, you did make David look like a prince of the night with your talents.

Second to last was Star. Your beautiful girlfriend of your group of male partners entered your part of the cave, bringing some of her own collection with her. Star was probably the easiest of the group to do makeup for. She already wore red lipstick on the daily and brown toned eyeshadow to compliment her skin but she never went farther than that.

But tonight, she would let you take it a step further. Nothing too crazy, maybe even a little more toned down than David’s.

Star practically cuddled up to you as you worked your magic. It was a little difficult but she stayed still nonetheless. You kept her signature red lipstick, and decided to focus more on her eyes and add some stick on gems that matched the colors of her skirt.

You added a splash of color to her eyes that went well with her usual browns, picking some of her favorite makeup items and mixing them with your own.

Of course you couldn’t help but smile when Star would giggle as the makeup brushes lightly tickled her face. You wanted to scold her for it but it was too cute so you said nothing just having to work around it.

Just as you were finishing, your last partner, Michael walked in, watching you with curiosity and a slight twinge of interest. When you did finish, Star looked to Michael to see what he thought and happily kissed him when he said he liked it. Which in turn having you redo her lipstick one last time before she left, leaving only you and Michael.

Michael was probably the most hesitant of the bunch. It wasn’t that he didn’t dislike makeup, he just didn’t know what the process was and never really saw much interest until you expressed how much you love doing it.

With a little bit of encouragement, Michael sat on your bed, having you sit on his lap. Michael reminded you a little bit of Paul. He was very affectionate but was much softer compared to the blonde.

Michael asked you the most questions as you worked. Asking what tool was used for what purpose. What colors you were using and why. Glitter? Yeah, why not? Just use it however you see fit and what you thought looked good on him.

Overall he was excited about this. New things always intrigued him and he was willing to try something new.

When you told him you were going to give him a more softer look, he had no quarrels with your choice. Just a tiny bit of glitter, some light colors, a sharp eyeliner that could cut someone, accentuating his cheekbones a bit, and even giving him a little bit of gradient lips, made him look even more pretty than he already was.

You were so proud of yourself that couldn’t help but hug the poor boy. You went all out for your partners and you had a lot of fun doing it. When you let him go after hugging him, he was met by a few compliments from the others who admired his own look that seemed very different from everyone else. Which made the poor boy even more flustered.

When all was said and done, and after doing your own makeup to your own tastes with the help of Star since, well, mirrors can’t help any of you. You all went down to the boardwalk as one big group date, showing off your talents proudly, taking any compliments, and giving you credit where credit was due.

If anything was said negatively, especially by a group of surf nazis, guess what? After your group dinner date at the local diner, those surf nazis would be your dessert for the night.

If that did happen, you’d be a little upset that your work was now covered in blood but they all reassured you that you could give them makeovers whenever you wanted.

Mike comes out to El , Mileven breaks up for good, and the future of byler (s4 theory)

*this is based off the stranger things movie inspirations they listed on twitter , in the show, or in interviews/other outside materials. All movies mentioned have been said to be inspo for the show.

So I’ll be mentioning mostly the movies- sw*ngers, what women want, wet hot american summer and splash (and others). Along with Tootsie -which was shown in s4 bts.

Before I give a rough outline of what may happen. I have to specify I don’t think El will be “heartbroken” over mileven cause I don’t think she loves Mike romantically . I’ve already discussed why i think she doesn’t love him romantically at nauseam - but regardless mileven brings out the worst in El and Mike. And literally inhibits her character growth. So as an El fan- I’m super excited for mileven to be put to rest. SORRY. I’ll trade El & Kali teaming up to get closure from their ab*ser ...over mileven any day of the week XD.

I think Mileven broke up in s3 (and remained broken up) . But we’ll have more closure and a more official breakup in s4 when Mike visits the byers. (And Mike admits he’s gay to his ex )- before byler officially begins. Essentially, I think- Mileven broke up, but El still calls constantly .And Mike starts ignoring her calls so El demands an explanation and he admits to her he’s gay and doesn’t want to get back together.

So first lets talk about Phone calls

I think based off the movies and s3 we’ll see El call quite a bit in s4 (almost obsessively) . And Mike has had enough. In s3, he said he’ll call so often -she’ll have to turn her walkie off . But I believe it’ll be the opposite-with El calling so much he’ll turn it off.

We see foreshadowing for this in s3 when Mike hangs up the phone after saying “El ? no, sorry, not interested.” Or when he hangs up on her multiple other times that season ( he even technically hung up the walkie on her in s2 , as well ). But, in defense of El, given her lack of socialization (and seeing mike call her constantly between s1-2 I wouldn’t be surprised if she thought this was the norm).

-In splash there’s a scene similar to s3 - a blond relative picks up another phone to eavesdrop on him talking to his gf. He yells at the blonde relative and when the gf asks if he loves her -he tries to dodge the question. But they break up and he admits to his relative he never loved her. Maybe confessing to Karen?

* This reminds me of that supposed rumor with El saying “I love you” and Mike not into El just saying “I know” in return.Or Mike in s3 saying quickly “i miss you-bye.” And immediately hanging up on her.

-some other aspects of the s3 breakup may be taken from “pineapple express .Which had comedic breakups via phone . When broken-up he says “I love you “ and she says it back to him (like mileven). He IMMEDIATELY says he takes it back and “I made a mistake” (when he sees she took him seriously). And then he specifies that’s it’s because she’s must be too “ naive and immature” to willing to take him back after how horrible of a bf he was to her in the past. Which yeah -fits mileven: they said the ‘L word’ when broken up, Mike did immediately try to take it back , and he may have realized at the s3 finalie how naive el was -to still want him back despite him not being a good bf to her. In ‘p.i’ the girl’s mom even says maybe it’s best she find someone new who actually appreciated her or ‘better yet just be single’ and hang out with her gal pals (lol if joyce gave this advice to El-that’d be great)! El doesn’t need romance to be her own-happy person! Also in ‘p.i’ Dale + his male bff are always assumed to be gay for eachother as a running gag .So ... I’ll technically throw that as another byler hint- lol.

-In sw*ngers Michael (yes that’s his name) who is made fun of for being perceived as gay gets a call from his ex gf of 6 months). And he hangs up on her to talk to his other love interest who asks if he wants to see her. Michael (specifically hangs up on his ex as she says “I lo-” to talk to this new love interest. He later brags to his friend (at a dinner) about not calling her back (despite her wanting to get back together) and he says proudly she was “always his ex”- when his friend incorrectly calls her his “gf” .

-While in ‘what women want’- an ex gf goes to him cause he didn’t answer her calls. In ‘tootsie’ the gf does the same and is pissed that her bf Michael (yes, yet another michael) didn’t answer her calls for a week. And he LIES saying his answering machine was broken. Would not be surprised if mike made up such an excuse.

Similar to ‘tootise’ & in ‘what women want’-both gals who’s phone calls were ignored ask if their bf (in mileven’s case -ex bf ) is gay. And in ‘swingers’ someone makes fun of mike for being gay. too Lol-i’m sorry 2 movies where a guy named Mike is called out for being gay /and 2 movies where a gf who’s phone calls are ignored asks is they’re bf is gay is suspish XD

In ‘tootsie’. We also have movie-mike give her a present before she asks if he’s gay /they breakup -it echos what previously happened in s3.

- Michael (from the film) despite not want to be with her anymore (and loving someone else) tries giving her a gift to patch things up - despite his lying/ignoring her. The gift /empty gesture annoys her. Which is similar to st- mike not apologizing for lying- but trying to give El a gift to make up with her (but he doesn’t even do as much as film-Mike).

Right after this is when she asks if he’s gay (aka so for mileven we have the gift scene for s3 & El asking if he’s gay in s4-which were both borrowed from ‘tootsie’).

In ‘tootsie’, she finds romantic letters Michael has from another guy and this causes her to ask him if he’s gay .(20+ movies have romantic letters). In ‘littlewomen’ the artist gal and her future husband (who used to have a crush on the painter’s sis) exchange letters.And in ‘wet hot american summer’- a guy ditched his friends to write a letter (and his friends make a gay joke about him because of his letter writing-not knowing he’s actually gay.

In ‘what women want’ when confronted- he admits he’s gay to his ex gf. In ‘tootsie’ she asks if he’s gay and he avoids the question but after she demands that he be “truthful for once in your life”. And, we all know how Mike constantly “lied” to EL .michael finally says he’ll stop lying to her and admits he’s in love with someone else.

And she says in turn she’s not angry he doesn’t love her but that he lied (and similar to s2 where Mike calls Hopper a “liar”. The ex gf calls movie-mike a “liar” over and over). In fact they use the identical phrase of “you liar. you liar.”

Not to mention- she does sound like El. She says she’s more upset about the lying than the fact movie-mike doesn’t love her.

But I do think they eventually get closure and El realizes she doesn’t love Mike (romantically either) before her real character/story arc begins.

movies: twister & you got mail

I’m so ready for the El & Kali teamup in s4. It’s like s2 (we get El & Kali pursuing Brenner + byler moments).

But what happens before Mike says this?I assume before this -mike & Will may confide in others about their feelings. And Mike/Will may be bullied for being perceived as gay .

-In “welcome to the dollhouse” a boy is bullied for being seen as gay in school & at an arcade- and a character who is made fun for being a lesbian defends him at school/the arcade (so maybe robin?)Since Robin works next to the arcade/is gay. Similarly, Fin’s character (at an arcade) is bullied and called a “fairy” and f*g” in ‘It 2′. And movie-Mike is made fun of for being perceived as gay in ‘sw*ngers’. Along with the guy (who was gay) being called homophobic names for writing letters (in wet hot american summer).We also know hawkins will most likely have a ‘satanic panic’ over d&d, rock music, and other things- which was historically rooted in christian fundamentalism.In ‘Kingsmen’ the churchgoers pretty much go on a rant being hom*phobic, r*cist, anti-science, anti-athe*st, anti-other religions, and anti-democrat and equate all of these groups of people to the endtimes/the anti christ. So one guy just snaps and says he’s gay, loves science , etc and says after “so... hail satan .And have a lovely day.”And storms out. lol not sure about all that -but it’d be hilarious XD. Trigger warning for hom*phobic sl*rs.

-Proof For Will was : In ‘heathers’ the jocks make fun of the new guy in the cafeteria- by asking him if he misses his boyfriend and call him the f-sl*r .in ‘superbad’ the guy who draws is called hom*phobic sl*rs and in ‘wedding crashers’ someone calls the male-painter character a “homo”. In “hackers” the (computer-nerd) who just moved to town is asked by his single mom if he “likes girls”.etc

Also, in “The guest” a computer-nerd in highschool is bullied for being perceived as gay (and he’s given really bad advice about how to deal with it by a lonnie-esque character who is visiting his house/family for a while). The advice is also similar to the advice given in the st comic (from Troy’s dad).

Honestly just the fire ref makes me nervous. The computer-boy eventually snaps (after never standing up for himself) and beats up his homophobic bullies.

*whenever Lonnie comes back - I assume we’ll see he’s a bad influence on Will pretty quickly

In ‘the guest’ they also made a joke that the clearly older guest must be the gay highschoolers’ boyfriend (which is not the case).

While In ‘stoker’ ,the highschool painter eventually loses it after dealing with constant harrassment- and stabs the bully’s hand (to block a punch coming their way) after the bully made an inc*st joke about the painter & the family guest. So a joke like that could certainly cause Will to finally snap (as opposed to the other gay jokes they used earlier). In ‘dukes of hazzard’ a guy also snapped and got into a fight over a inc*st joke (and in ‘girl interrupted” they make a similar messed up inc*st joke).

Given my theory on Will’s trauma with his dad (which he doesn’t remember)-I would not be surprised even on a subconscious level such a comment finally gets him to snap -maybe accidentally unleash his powers for the first time?Lonnie could say something about how Will should light his bullies on fire, they make a triggering joke about Lonnie &himself... and Will the wise does have fire powers after all. In the film ‘firestarter’ the kid who couldn’t control their fire abilities also lights a bully on fire accidentally so... maybe? In ‘skyhigh’ Will’s superpowers aren’t revealed until he accidentally unleashes them on a bully in the lunchroom. And 1 character in that scene says “don’t talk about my dad” before using his fire powers. Also... it’s not on the inspo list technically but the Duffers are known avengers/xmen fans.So Will could be based on scarlet witch’s son William (code name Wiccan) - he’s gay ,has lightning&fire powers and can alter reality. He’s been possessed In the past by the ‘demiurge’ - even spit up a slug too. He opens a portal to his world allowing the inter dimensional monster “mama” out (cough demogorgans are called “deep father”.) And he’s constantly bullied for being gay- and the 1 time he finally decides to stand up to his h*mophobic bullies- is the day his powers activate for the first time and almost k*ll the bully. Not super confident in this theory but thought I’d mention it just in case. Ok- this post is supposed to not be too plot heavy. So back to byler-

*Before Mike visits they may both confide in people about their feelings for the other . in skyhigh (at a dinner similar to the convo in sw*ngers where Mike talks about his ex gf) the bff of Will (yes his name) goes on and on about Will and how she’s known him since the first grade. And someone asks “so you’ve been in love with Will since the 1st grade?” Which she tries denying but quickly admits is true. And her friend says she should confess to Will.

In fisher king - a women who works at a videostore tries setting up 2 people- a gal-writer and a guy with an alternate personality/ who hallucinates a fearsome mythical creature (obviously Will). When people doubt the idea the girl can love this mentally ill guy she says “stranger things have been known to happen.” And in “altered states” the guy who would hallucinate flashing to another hell dimension (like Will)- has a wife. And people say “she’s crazy about him and he’s crazy.” When they weren’t together she says to her friend she had to pretend anyone she dated was him and she says “it’s crazy” in response the friend says “i think that’s how it’s supposed to be.” Plus in fisherking one character wrote a book dedicated to his wife (which had the same title as the movie they’re in) . And someone says about this author “ he was crazy about her” as he holds the novel in his hands.

* The ‘pretending the person you’re dating is someone you’re actually in love with’ was also mentioned in ‘children of paradise’ (reffed by Robin in s3).

*I’ve also talked about Mike projecting his feelings for Will to El-here.

Will confiding in someone is harder to say. in ‘reality bites’ when asking about why she doesn’t want to be involved in romance a friend asks “because of Michael?” Which she first denies but later admits is part of the reason.

And in ‘hellboy’, (while taking pics) John Myers tells the fire wielding character (with mental health issues) that her bff is in love with her and asks how she feels . The 2 bffs are endgame but at first she tells John that she’s unsure because she’s known him practically her whole life (but she thinks of him everyday).

Lol not sure if Jonathan would ever be so straight forward but it’d be nice callback to s1/2 convos they had (Jon saying in s1 to not like things cause you’re supposed to / saying being a “freak” like queer david bowie is cool) .In “twister” & “it’s a wonderful life” a family member also tells a character that their childhood friend that they’re in love with (isn’t into the person they’re currently with). In ‘ wonderful life’ she says they’re “not crazy” about the other person-but them. And they say they know this cause they “have eyes.” And In “twister” the family member says them visiting them is proof they love them.

*plus Sam who is supposedly crazy about her (also isn’t crazy about marry). Aka El isn’t crazy about Mike- but Will assumes she (along with mike). Cough El saying “what makes you crazy?” in s3.

-While in “hackers’ the kid (with a single mom) who is into computers, and upset they were forced to moved to a new city -is asked by the mom “Do you like girls?” . And he angrily denies and says he’s ‘not gay’ (which could followthrough with what happened in s3- Will not opening up to her about romance, like him telling Joyce he’d never fall in love. so he may lie to her if asked that question? Unlike Jon?

So it’s possible Will confides in Jonathan (and or Joyce) & maybe Mike to his mom/nancy?/a friend (maybe Robin or Max) (hard to say). My top guesses are Will &Jon. And Mike with Robin (and maybe his mom or sister a bit after Robin?)

Mike visiting the Byers

In ‘Tootsie’, michael (disguised as a woman named dorothy...long story XD) meets up with the person he really loves and gives them a present. The 2 low-key have like a psuedo-gay courting for most of the movie (before they get together). In ‘paddington 2′, the main character even gets multiple jobs to save up for a birthday present for a loved one (another contrast to mileven- who Mike,despite being rich couldn’t even spend $3.50 on. They did that alot -show contrasts with both ships .So s4 would be no different.And It’s Will’s b-day in s4 after all so Mike getting Will a present makes the most sense.

*last pics from ‘scarface’- I have no idea what he’d get Will for his b-day but if it’s engraved with “crazy together” I will lose my mind. Also the parent glaring during this scene-makes me suspect Lonnie . I do suspect Lonnie will sabotage byler-but it may end up being a s5 plotpoint instead of s4? (I guess in s4 it could be El-since el has been known to get very jealous in the past (like with max).

- In ‘waynes’ world’ the ex gf refused to accept the breakup initially (despite it being months ago). And she didn’t understand how breakups worked . Which given El’s lack of socialization - I get her confusion on the concept. Like how in s3 Max had to correct El that Mike was her “ex boyfriend”. In the film, she even tried giving him a present for their ‘anniversary’ (hopefully El doesn’t try to do something like that out of jealousy of the prior gift giving -cause Wayne just says the gift shows how little she knows him).

*You have to admit this scenario of Mike having to explain breakups isn’t that far-fetched.

(even when broken up with wayne- she wore a necklace with his name on it. ) Which reminds me of How El had a bunch of Mike related stuff in her room-including things that said “mike” on them.

in waynes’ world: The ex gf would follow her ex and still refer to him as her bf and be a 3rd wheel and interrupt every attempt for wayne to romantically confess to his new love interest (like in ‘dumb and dumber’/’high fidelity ‘).A similar scenario also happens in ‘tootsie’- Michael (as dorothy) almost confesses (on a swing set) but is interrupted by another person interested in him (Mike). Personally, I assume El would just do this unintentionally- assuming Mike wants to be with her and being a bit pushy but probably being oblivious of byler.

Not to mention the Duffers are petty AF and probably got annoyed with all the jokes that Will was a 3rd wheel to mileven- when literally Will wasn’t even around the 2 interacting alone . A 3rd wheel- has a group of 3 consisting of a couple and a third superfluous person. Which never really happened? Plus,we saw the ‘burns’ they did of mileven over the past 3 seasons- it’ll probably get worse.

And again we already know El had no qualms spying on her ex (mileven even dances to ‘every breath you take’ a song about a stalking ex gf).And El also watched the ‘all my children’ ep with Erica & mike roy. Which in the show after their breakup - had 1 of them refuse to accept the other didn’t love them and want to get back together- and stalk them/ sabotage their exe’s romantic pursuits. Only to eventually accept reality and move on. Although, I think this is mostly un-intentional on El’s part.

In ‘clueless’ she flirted with a gay guy who she thought was straight/in love with her and kept trying to make a move-much to his discomfort . And in ‘birdcage’ the ex gf would hit on her gay ex bf- and his male partner catches the 2 and misinterprets it as not one sided ). That scenario happens in quite a few movies. I could see Will (before byler happens/mike tells el the truth ) misinterpreting and assuming mike and El are still romantically connected or will get back together .

New Swings scene (almost confession)/possible swing-flashback

Ok back to (tootsie) .In the film,Michael’s love interest was raised by an older sibling- and he even tries to confess to her when they’re on a bench swing together . Not even the only movie with a gay gal character + gal bestfriend swinging on a bench together (’silkwood’ ). In ‘enter the void’ there was also a flashback of a little kid asking the other “do you love me?”/ and him saying “a lot” .

* it’s like a subversion of what happened in s3 at the hospital. Also like the Wayne’s world scene of the ex gf interrupting...

But i don’t think El will be the only one trying to get mileven back together. But Will as well.In ‘Emma’ & ‘clueless ‘ :character A assumes her guy friend is into their mutual friend and tries to get them together (despite him being into character A only). I could see Will misinterpreting mileven and trying to be a good friend and get them back together (despite his own feelings). In ‘emma’ and ‘clueless’ (before they fight) there’s is a party/dance (it’s in a lot of movies).It’s possible mike, Will, and El go somewhere to dance - a lot of films have the 2 people in love-dance with others -but stare at eachother the entire time.In ‘clueless’ 2 gay guys and cher (who is flirting with one of the gay guys) all dance together. In karate kid, referenced by Max to El. Has a guy kiss his ex without her permission (on the dance floor)- and the karate kid sees the girl he likes being kissed by her ex and misinterprets the scenario (assuming they’re back together). I suppose the fact they changed the s2 script where Will was watching Mike dance with El may come back up in a later season? Could also be a callback to when Mike looked mopey at Will dancing with a girl (after encouraging him to dance with her). Will could do the same (as mike in s2). Or they both stare at eachother while dancing with other people. or it’s just a concept they scrapped- it’s hard to say.

Confession & fall out

In ‘emma’ & ‘clueless’: character A (after the dance party) goes with the guy home and he tries kissing her . She dodges it confused saying he’s mistaking her for her friend! And he explains he was never romantically interested in her friend. In ‘emma’ he even bought her a super expensive gift before hand and she still assumed he was into her friend not her. And he even specifies in Emma- the reason he came to visit her house was for her (not her friend). A similar scenario happens in ‘weird science’ and he says she just thought of the gal he used to be infatuated with as a “sister” (and we all know the sibling parallels in mileven). And in ‘little women’- the artist gal dodges a kiss and says to her love interest “I won’t be courted with someone in love with my sister.” And he explains exasperated he doesn’t love her sister- despite constantly trying to be with her sister previously.

In ‘tootsie’, what caused Mike (dressed as Dorothy) to try and kiss her was- the other gal saying she feel like she wants something she can’t have and because of that -their friendship makes her feel lonely (it’s very queer coded dialogue). She dodged mike/dorothy’s kiss but then says she has the same (gay) “impulses” as Dorothy but that she’s not mentally sound enough to be in a relationship. A thought that may cross Will’s mind.

But, before they can talk about the almost kiss-her dad calls via phone and interrupts. (They eventually do get together though). But she tells Mike/Dorothy she ‘can’t love’ her,before this.

*may not come across in photos-but she’s crying when sayin this.

Also, a fight about “what they are-friends/or romantic” before a phone call interrupts ( happens in ‘it’s a wonderful life’ and ‘the fisher king’ too.) Those pairings were also both endgame. In wonderful life the artist gal yells why he even came to visit her . And he implies she knows why (aka his romantic feelings) .There’s a similar convo in ‘fisher king’ (asking why they’re there) + 1 of them saying it’s “bullshit” and “stupid” to pretend they’re ‘just friends’. (We all know the context of the phrases “bullshit’ and “stupid” by now). Even Han implies Leia wants him to stay cause he has feelings for him-which she denies . Thus, irritating him.

*(I’ve already mentioned before how in s1 byler was paralleled to a gay Han/leia while mileven was directly paralleled to luke/leia-mentioned this in the ‘mileven burn’ hyperlink).

All 3 movies have eventual couples arguing cause 1 character (mike) is saying he’s done pretending to be just friends and he came to visit (Will) for that reason. And he knows Will returns those romantic feelings- but Will refuses to stop the charade and admit his true feelings.

In ‘good Will hunting” a similar event happens. Will (yes that’s his name) is poor and has severe trust /psych issues caused by his ab*sive dad. And he has “abandonment issues” so sabotages his romantic relationships before they can even begin. When the brunette admits her feelings for him he dismisses it as a phase/confusion on her part. She in response says she knows he finds the idea she doesn’t love him ‘scary’ (and she’s scared too but at least she’s trying and being honest about her feelings). She also says she wants to “help him” with his issues -but this just angers him more. Cause he doesn’t liked being pitied/treated like he’s broken . She says she wants to help because she loves him- not pity. But he doesn’t believe her romantic confession. And every time she says she loves him he yells “Don’t BULLSHIT ME”! So when she yells “say you don’t love me?” He says he doesn’t love her- which the audience knows is a lie. But she’s left a sobbing mess alone on the floor.

Which yikes- I feel like even if you don’t understand the obvious reasons Mike used El as a beard + lied saying he loved her. You’ll feel bad at the possibility of how badly it blows up in his face. Will not believing his confession/thinking Mike loves El or scared he’ll change his mind -so Will (for that + a myriad of other reasons)just rejects Mike COLD. Similar to clueless & Emma & empire strikes back.

I’m not that surprised since Will claimed he’d never fall in love (so when he does - he may just deny it). Like the therapist said in ‘good will hunting’ he’s afraid it’ll go wrong so never even tries to begin a romance. I hypothesize a lot of stuff happens after this, that makes getting closure on their relationship in s4 difficult.

So essentially to summarize a rough idea of what may happen: mileven stayed broken up. Mike and Will probably exchange letters between seasons. And El and Mike call eachother- but the excess of calls becomes too much. Mike and Will are probably bullied for being perceived as gay- and before meeting up they may or may not confide in someone (about their mutual feelings). Mike visits for Will’s b-day/spring break and gives Will a present. El (because she sees Mike as a source of comfort) tries getting back together with him and becomes pushy and a 3rd wheel. While Will even helps El- thinking he’s being a good friend to Mike (by trying to get them back together). Mike eventually comes clean and come to an understanding and El goes on her plot/character driven arc of trying to find Brenner with Kali. Mike eventually confesses to Will but Will for a myriad of reasons lies about loving Mike- and rejects him. And that’s all the (non supernatural) plot stuff I wan’t to talk about now...

Sorry, if this post was just hard to understand. I wouldn’t call this a ‘theory’ per say ( I usually feel more confident in those). This is more like a rough idea given what we have available to analyze so far.

Personally - I hated the mileven/couple breakup drama in s3. So as long as it doesn’t last long and most breakups like say-lumax and jancy happen early in the season... and don’t drag the actual supernatural plot/character developement . I’ll be fine.

Contrary to popular belief- I’m a byler shipper who’s most excited for the actual plot. I’m a bit more confident in my plot theories than the exact details in this post . But I thought I’d share XD. I’ll eventually do a whole s4/5 theory- post which will focus on other characters/supernatural plot points.(but i may rewatch some movies first) . I’ll probably also do a byler post too with s5 predictions (which connects more heavily to important plot points spanning across s4-5).

Thank you! I was nervous to post it because I’ve never written for Shuichi before (or Keebo) so I was worried it would be bad XD but I think it turned out okay! Hope you like this, and thank you for requesting!

A-Activities (what do they like to do with their s/o? How do they spend their free time with them?)

He likes to have downtime with you. Watching movies, getting fast food, etc. He also won’t turn down playing video games with you. His secret pleasure is open world adventure games! Play skyrim with him...just do it.

B-Beauty (what do they admire about their s/o? What do they think is beautiful about them?)

Keebo values open-mindedness. Not everyone would date a robot, so if you treated him like any other person it would melt his mechanical heart. Keebo doesn’t care about looks, you can be short, tall, long hair, short hair, he is a pansexual icon.

C-Comfort (how would they help their s/o when they feel down/have a panic attack/etc.?)

He would immediately google how to make someone feel better and do his best to help. He’s never had a panic attack before, and he hasn’t been depressed so he has no firsthand experience with dealing with someone who does have depressive episodes or panic attacks. He’ll whisper to you comforting words and tell you how much he loves you. To try and help you feel better, he’d give you 100 compliments and say all of the things he loves about you (it’s everything).

D-Dreams (how do they picture their future with their s/o?)

He likes to think about his future with you, it brings him a lot of happiness. He wants a house, and wants you to stay in his future as long as possible. He’s extremely committed so once you’re with him he plans to do everything in his power to keep you in his life. He loves you, and he may not always be the best about showing it, but he’ll do his best to paint a picture of your futures together. Whatever you want in the future, he’ll make sure to achieve it for you.

E-Equal (are they the dominant one in their relationship or are they more passive?)

Keebo is in the middle, not particularly dominant but not exactly submissive either. It depends on his mood, sometimes he likes to take the reins but other times he’d prefer if you took control.

F-Fight (would they be easy to forgive their s/o? How are they fighting?)

He would be quick to forgive you for any fights you do get in. But he hates conflict, so fights are few and far between. He’d rather you talk out your differences and try not to get angry over things you do or say.

G-Gratitude (How grateful are they in general? Are they aware of what their s/o is doing for them?)

At first, he doesn’t really understand relationships. But you showed him a whole new world, and for that he’s eternally grateful. He may ask questions about what he should or shouldn’t do, and he always respects your boundaries. He shows his gratitude through words, since he’s not the biggest on physical contact.

H-Honesty (do they have secrets they hide from their s/o? Or do they share everything?)

Keebo is an open book when it comes to you. He’ll tell you anything and everything, ranging from what he did that day to his deepest thoughts. He wants a partner who can tell him everything just like he tells you, and he believes honesty is one of the most important qualities there is.

I-Inspiration (Did their s/o change them somehow, or the other way around? Like trying out new things or helped them overcome personal problems?)

You changed him on every level, because of you he’s more understanding about the world. You showed him what love is, and opened up endless possibilities for the future.

J-Jealousy (do they get jealous easily? How do they deal with it?)

He won’t admit it, but he can get pretty jealous. He doesn’t express it much, but you’ll know he’s jealous if he gives you more physical contact than usual. He’ll hold you hand and take you away from situations he thinks could be dangerous. (And in his mind talking to strangers can be dangerous, you never know what they do in their spare time or if they have the intent to hurt you.)

K-Kiss (are they a good kisser? What was the first kiss like?)

He may not be the best kisser, but he makes up for it with enthusiasm. Your first kiss he was red as can be, but he had the desire to try it. He’d never kissed anyone before you, so he doesn’t have much experience. But once the first kiss is over the second...and third...and tenth kiss followed soon after. In a way, he becomes addicted to it. He kisses you every chance he gets.

L-Love confession (how would they confess to their s/o?)

Chances are, you would have to be friends before he asked you out. He needs a solid foundation before jumping into the deep end. He’d watched a hundred youtube videos of the best way to ask someone out and apply them when he does ask you out. He was nervous, because he’d heard of the “friendzone” and didn’t want to ruin your friendship. But he would work up the courage to ask you out over time. He was very nervous...but when you said yes? It’s the happiest he’s been in his life.

M-Marriage (do they want to get married? How do they propose? What would the marriage be like?)

Keebo desperately wants to get married, but he’ll wait until you both feel ready to do so. He doesn’t want to rush it, and relishes in the time he gets to spend with you. Once you're married, he becomes a lot more physically affectionate. And he will cuddle with you for hours whispering “mine” to you with a huge smile on his face.

N-Nicknames (what do they call their s/o?)

He isn’t big on nicknames, so hearing them is rare. But occasionally he’ll call you love. He prefers your name though, and uses it often. He thinks names are special, and he absolutely loves to say your name.

O-On cloud nine (what are they like when they are in love? Is it obvious to others? How do they express their feelings?)

When he’s in love it’s extremely obvious. Mostly because he won’t let go of your hand. You’re attached near constantly. He never thought he would like physical affection, but once he’s in love he can’t get enough of it.

P-PDA (are they upfront about their relationship? Do they brag with their s/o in front of others? Or are they rather shy to kiss etc. when others are watching?)

He won’t be big on PDA at first, but once you’re in love it’s near constant. He’s always holding your hand, and if he thinks someone is looking at you he may get jealous and kiss you in front of them. Just to let them know you’re taken.

Q-Quirk (some random ability they have that’s beneficial in a relationship?)

His enthusiasm makes the relationship stay interesting. He’s willing to try anything for you, be it a new food place or something more romantic. He’s new to relationships, but he always seems enthusiastic to try something new. Especially if he knows you really like it.

R-Romance (how romantic are they? What would they do to make their s/o happy? Cliche or rather creative?)

He’d do anything...anything to make you happy. He can be pretty cliche, romantic candlelit dinners or walks on the beach, but if it makes you happy he’d do it over and over again. His happiness is secondary to yours in his eyes. So even if you try something he doesn’t like he’d do it again as long as you were happy.

S-Support (are they helping their s/o achieve their goals? Do they believe in them?)

He has all the faith in the world for you. Whatever you decided you wanted to do with your life he’s your number 1 fan. He’ll help you whenever you need it, and wants nothing more than to see you achieve your dreams.

T-Thrill (do they need to try out new things to spice up their relationship? Or do they prefer a certain routine?)

Again...he’s trying anything for you. He doesn’t care if you stay safe and enjoy the simple pleasures, but if you want to try something new he’s always open to it.

U-Understanding (how good do they know their partner? Are they empathetic?)

He makes it his goal to learn everything about you. He loves you, and wants to know everything there is to know.

V-Value (how important is the relationship to them? What’s it worth in comparison to other things in their life?)

Your love means the world to him. You become his priority rather quickly, and once you’re in love there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do so you stay with him. If you broke up with him...his world would shatter. He places you as his number 1 priority.

W-Wild Card (a random fluff headcanon)

Hand holding is his favorite thing in the world. At first he was reluctant, and couldn’t see what all the hype was about, but after he tried it he was hooked. He loves that he can show you he cares by doing something as simple as holding hands.

X-Xoxo (are they very affectionate? Do they love to kiss and cuddle?)

In public he keeps it simple, hand holding here and a few kisses there, but as soon as you’re in private he loves to give you more intimate kisses and is always ready to cuddle. Big spoon, little spoon, one on top of the other, he doesn’t care. He just wants contact.

Y-Yearning (how will they cope when they’re missing their partner?)

When he misses you he calls you...a lot. He just needs to hear your voice. It soothes him in a way. For him-leave him voicemails (on the rare occasion he doesn’t answer) and he’ll go back and listen to them when he misses you.

Z-Zeal (are they willing to go to great lengths for their relationship? If so, what kind of?)

He’d move mountains for you, if you need anything just ask him and he’ll provide it for you. You’re hungry? He’s already ordered you food. Your back hurts? He’s ready to give you a massage. You want to cuddle? He’s on it. Anything for you.

Ways They Say “Ily” W/out Actually Saying It

Ft. Iwaoi and UshiTenSemi

!G/N reader!

So this will definitely be a series! Next up is BokuAka and Kuroken followed by SakuAtsu and SunaOsaKita.

Iwaoi

Hajime always has a supply of yours and Toru’s favorite snacks/foods on hand at any given moment

He knows how much of a hassle it can be to have to purchase your fav. “pick me up” snacks on a bad day- so he takes restocking very seriously

Speaking of food

Every once in a while he’ll make your favorite meal for dinner- just because he has the extra time, he claims- but in actuality making you your favorite food makes him feel closer to you

He’ll also do your laundry and put it away too! As well as perfectly iron your work uniforms and/or dress outfits

He’ll even wash your guy’s shoes and polish them too, but not say anything about it

If ya’ll don’t thank him, he won’t be sad, but he wants to at least hear that you noticed!

Toru is an Olympic athlete and you’re their lovely s/o- he’ll be damned if you two look anything less than like a model off a magazine

One last thing is how he lets you two cuddle up to him in the morning- after his second alarm has rung- and during his morning run time

It’s the way that he holds you two close and steady in his strong arms, letting you hear the thrum of his heartbeat and/or his calm breathing

Hajime won’t show his love verbally, most of the time it’s shown through little acts of service/skin ship

He’s a quiet but domestic sort of lover

Toru is... pretty lazy in terms of household chores

He’s not really one to care too much about mundane things

His love needs to be shown in big, extravagant ways

Like he’s the type to take you to the beach in summer, just to rent a gigantic lounge float- the type that’s main use is for day drinking- instead of taking you to a bar

Yes it’s relaxing but at this point why not just go to the local pub or something? It’d be cheaper- oh right because he needs to show Instagram that he’s an exceptional lover *cue eyeroll*

Nah, it’s actually because he wants to give you the best of both worlds- that of comfortable luxury and drunkenly passionate intimacy

Sometimes it annoys you and Hajime with how open he is with his love life on social media

But I promise it’s only because he loves you two so much and feels the constant need to brag about you

He does show it in smaller ways too

Like by holding the door open for you two, carrying your bags when shopping and paying for your purchases before you get the chance to even try

He’ll also take note of you and Haji’s current interests and occasionally buy you something *really* nice that he thinks you’ll love

He’s an open guy, but for you two he’ll willing indulge in the quiet moments of life

It’s okay if the rest of the world doesn’t see these moments- the ones where it’s just you three- like when you’re all in a bubble bath sipping that expensive champagne that costs way too much- and enjoying the way the tubs jets massage your back muscles.

Or when it’s 3 in the morning and he wakes up feeling hot and sweaty, only to find himself trapped between the loves of his life- and not having the heart to wake you up

Not even when Hajime drools on his shoulder, or when your hair tickles him through his shirt

Toru is loud and outspoken but it’s his quiet moments that really show his love for ya’ll

UshiTenSemi

Wakatoshi doesn’t really perceive things like most people

This includes romantic actions

He’ll do something if he feels it needs to be done- not out of love, but because it’s the most logical thing to do- and you three know that

I think his unspoken way of telling you he loves you is when he goes out of his way- logic be damned- to do something specific

Like that one time you wanted to buy the newest gaming console but all the pre orders were sold out, making the only way for you to get one “first come first serve”

This man decided that for you, it was okay if he didn’t follow his routine to a ‘t’

He said goodbye to his sleep schedule and awoke at 2:25 in the morning to make his way to the nearest Yamada Denki to stand in the freezing cold for nearly 6+ hours until the store opened.

He beat majority of the crowd and got you your console, even though he was 51,896 yen poorer, and his sleep schedule would take the rest of the week to get back on track, he decided it was all worth it to see that wide smile on your face

When he’s home he’ll wash some fruits and veggies for you guys and serve them to you on little snack trays to curb your appetite until the next meal

Speaking of food- he definitely cooks a light breakfast for ya’ll before he leaves for morning practice

Husband material right here-

Toshi’s love is like gravity in a way

There’s set laws of nature that applies to it- unquestionable and unchanging; something you’re perfectly understanding of- but the slightest change of it is so noticeable that it leaves you in a state of surprise, making you appreciate all that he had done before in a new light, and looking forward to seeing more of it during your daily life.

Satori is a sap and for what-

Like he’ll make all of you delicious little chocolate treats (but Wakatoshi’s is made differently so that it’s more healthy... because he’s an athlete and needs to watch his diet)

On that same note Eita can’t have much chocolate either... since it’s actually able to cause phlegm... oh well more for you I guess

When you oversleep he wakes you up by digging his long, w i g g l y fingers into your sides and TICKLES you

It’s a really nice way to wake up actually- laughing your sleepiness away

He loves seeing your laughter induced teary eyed gaze and wide smile in the morning- it fills him with more energy than a triple mocha frappe.

Something else he likes to do is have you lie on top of him and trail his fingers up and down your face

I mean this guy probably has A L L of your facial features memorized- but he really just likes to look at you- and see you gazing back

That last one is something only you and him do- Eita gets too flustered if Satori even tries, and Ushijima would just... kinda smile oddly, stare, and lay really still? Yeah as much as he loves your awkward miracle boy- it’s not as fun when he’s still as a statue and not relaxed

When he’s not being cute, Satori is dragging you three into his random adventures

Like it could be literally 1 am and he is up and raring to go to the beach

Ofc he won’t force anyone to come with him- but it’s not quite as fun without someone accompanying him

Occasionally he can convince Toshi and Eita to join- but for the most part it’s just you and him

Ya’ll always have a blast and make a bunch of fun memories

Did I mention that he comes to you first before your other two partners when he wants to go adventuring? Because he does-

Sometimes you go to watch the sunrise in his car but binge watch anime while waiting for the sunrise

He’s a spontaneous, fun lover- and he has the most fun when it’s with you

Eita is... surprisingly romantic too?

Like damn he writes love songs about your foursome RELIGIOUSLY

Hell over the course of your 5 or so years together he has written nearly 7 full albums dedicated to ya’ll-

Guess you’re an inspiration or smth

Even if you can’t sing WHATSOEVER this mans rose colored glasses effects are so prominent that he could listen to you for hours on end

No but seriously he is so obsessed with everyones voices (not that he’ll say it but like it’s obvious at this point)

I mean ya’lls vocal ranges are just so different!

Obvi Toshi has a bass voice, Satori has more of a baritone one (though he really does try to pass off as a tenor for some reason)- and then there’s you- it’s so interesting to him to hear you guys talk to each other (and sing-) because of how your voices overlap

He’s the type to buy you roses whenever he’s feeling extra appreciative and maybe a new set of lingerie or some silk night wear

I don’t know why but despite his extensive collection of leather EVERYTHING, he really enjoys seeing you in expensive, clothing

And then he won’t shut up about how attractive you are XD

Oh but he’ll also buy all four of you matching silk robes too so you can be comfy together

But don’t be posting about it on social media or anything- these are for your eyes ONLY! No one else should get to see his partners like this but him

Don’t even get me started about date nights

Because he’s insisting that everyone wear something of his

Dude you only have leather clothing wdym-

Unfortunately there’s a slight issue since everyone’s different sizes so he does the next best thing

He commissions custom made leather jackets for ya’ll

• Once he utilises your suggestions with them they are suspicious, asking him what he’s secretly being doing in his spare time and his shameless answer is:

“(L/n) (Y/n).” They were joking, falling silent when Kenma gave them a legitimate reply.

“Wait. WAIT. Kenma has an s/o???”

• Volleyball is a big passion so it’s one of the first things he asks about - he did not expect for you to rank so highly in the sport. You’re coveted by many V-League Teams once old enough.

• He’s eager to see you in action, in fact this qualifies as a date to Shōyo as he loves training with you so much, you empower his motivation for the sport even more which was thought impossible.

• The team know - they don’t believe him - but they know. Hinata was bragging about you the second you accepted his confession, so he wants to bring you to Karasuno ASAP.

Oikawa Tōru:

• This enthusiast knows who you are, you don’t need to even breathe it and he manages to subdue his gushing to at least the second date.

• If you ask him to Set for you, he’ll melt honestly. Oikawa is honoured to be training at your level and uses your style to better improve his own skills so it’s a win win.

• Seijoh has heard about you, the way the Captains eyes shine whenever you’re mentioned is clear indication of his admiration, so obviously he wants you to meet them and presents you like a deity.

• Aobajohsai want to play a practice game of course and after one victorious set on your part - Rules. Are. Issued.

“That’s it, Oikawa you can’t team with (L/n) anymore - they’re ours!” Makki proudly confirmed, politely pulling you over to his and Hajimes side.

“Fine, I’ll still win, come Iwa-chan let’s-“

“I have (Y/n) now, I’m loyal.”

Cue pouting Tōru with Mattsun and the underclassmen trying to hold in their laughter despite the oncoming loss.

• You serve together and it’s terrifying, Tōru always seems to have honed his technique a little more after training with you so they all cover the back of their heads when he goes for it.

“Cover guys! He saw (Y/n) yesterday!”

“Wha- owww?!”
