Clara was very much a product of her time. Her one and only dream was to become a housewife. But her mind often got the better of her. She was curious, she loved reading and learning. She was the most curious of the Edelman siblings, always asking questions. And that often got her in trouble.

Clara's curiosity also deterred many suitors who simply wanted a wife that did as they were told, no questions asked. That was until she met Homer Williams. In the beginning, her life was like a dream. But slowly the red flags began breaking through until it escalated to physical, mental, and emotional abuse. Unfortunately, Clara hadn't made her escape. She had managed to get all her children safe and was in the process of packing when Homer had come home early after learning of her plans and beat her within an inch of her life. Wesley had been the one to find her after Homer had already fled, staging the home to look like an invasion. In an attempt to save her, he had given her some of his blood and promised to help her through her transition, but he had been too late. Clara succumbed to her injuries.

Since being returned, Clara hadn't known that either of her brothers were in the area. She had found a nice family who had taken her in and began to get her accustomed to life in the 21st century. They even got her a part time job at a local bookshop. She was fitting in very nicely, though she still worried that she would see Homer coming around every corner.
