Celebrating the women of Harry Potter [9/∞] → alice longbottom ♡

She no longer had the plump, happy-looking face Harry had seen in Moody’s old photograph of the original Order of the Phoenix. Her face was thin and worn now, her eyes seemed overlarge and her hair, which had turned white, was wispy and dead-looking.

Alice Fawley - “They suffered a fate worse than death” - Sirius 🖤 Alice Fawley - Carey Mulligan This is Part Three of my Marauders Era Introductions. This is Alice Fawley’s intro aka Alice Longbottom, Neville’s mum. I decided to give her the maiden name “Fawley” because from what we know, Alice was a pureblood witch, and “Fawley” was one of the names from the “Sacred 28” list (a list of pureblood family lines in Harry Potter) that was not already given to a character, so we can assume that this could have been Alice’s family name. During her time at Hogwarts, Alice was sorted into Gryffindor and became close friends with Lily, Marlene and Mary. When she graduated, she became an Auror, along with her then boyfriend Frank. Despite her kind gentle manner, Alice was a fierce fighter and once she put her mind to something, there was no turning back. This is what made her such a skilled Auror. I made her a Virgo because although she is kind and loving to those she cares about, she is quick to stand up for herself and others when she has to. Don’t be fooled by that Cinnamon Roll exterior, she can actually be quite scary when she wants to be! Her Patronus is a Rabbit, people with this Patronus tend to wear their hearts on their sleeve and have the wonderful ability to maintain a smile, no matter what goes on in their life. They are usually curious and creative people, I thought this fit Alice’s personality very well, and I can really see her having a Rabbit Patronus. Her boggart is watching someone she loves being tortured, and she was forced to endure just that the night she and Frank were attacked by Bellatrix Lestrange. Alice suffered a fate worse than death, but she still remains one of the bravest Aurors of her time, because she refused to give up. Ron stopped craning his neck to catch a glimpse of Neville’s parents and looked mortified.      “They were Aurors, you know, and very well respected within the wizarding community,” Mrs Longbottom went on. “Highly gifted, the pair of them.”

Alice is the mother of Neville Longbottom. She was a skilled Auror and a member of the original Order of the Phoenix during the First Wizarding War along with her husband, Frank. They were both tortured to insanity by Bartemius Crouch Jr  and Bellatrix, Rodolphus, and Rabastan Lestrange. The Longbottoms are the permanent residents of St Mungo’s Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries, where their son visits them regularly.
