I love a good enemies to lovers trope but I’ll be honest after episode 5 the main storyline just got meh and by episode 7 Anthony and Kate were just getting on my nerves instead of having me root for them. I’d have watched hours of lady Featherington scamming people and Peneloise angst but every time Anthony was on screen I just wanted to scream.

I LOVE THE OTOME AU SO MUCH I swear, the sound of excitement that came out of me when I saw the new post 🙈🤭 Already love seeing Colin fall for Penelope, they’re my faves
Aw thank you!
For this au I was thinking that things really kick off for the Bridgertons during the first night the spouses play the game. Everything starts out as normal. The Bridgertons get the screen in front of them that the game is loading and oh it's multiplayer! They haven't had that in a while, and eight players? Even more of a rare occurrence for them.
As the eight friends go through their character quizzes and building their avatars for the game the Bridgertons take time to study them. Something felt different about this group and they didn't know why.
Then the prologue before routes are chosen starts up, and each Bridgerton gets into place. As the group of friends continue to play the Bridgertons find themselves genuinely laughing and having fun after who knows how long. The real reactions that the Bridgertons can see through their screens are joys to watch, as are watching them choose which dialogue options.
Anthony can't help the smile on his face when Kate once again chooses the option that supposed to take away his love points.
"Kate you know you're supposed to romance the characters?" One of her friends will ask her.
"Yeah but this one," Kate would point at Anthony on the tv, "is aggravating and I will take him down a peg!"
Benedict knows he should be conversing with all the avatars in the prologue, but he finds he can't tear himself away from Sophie. He even went off script a little bit, which earned him a glare from Anthony, but seeing the real Sophie pause with a small blush made it worth it.
Colin was so thankful that Penelope got childhood friend with his family because now he doesn't have to make up an excuse to hang around her more than the others like his siblings would. It helps that real Penelope doesn't seem to be moving her avatar away either.
Daphne is having so much fun with Simon. Most players find Daphne to be the boring one of the sisters so her route isn't played as often and she finds herself being a support more often than not.
Eloise likes listening to Phillip when he tries to pick the academic options and then she gets to hear the real him go off on how that wasn't the real science. It's nice to have a player with a brain.
Francesca also doesn't get her route played much. Second chance loves aren't usually a route players want but the options that Michael picks when he's playing, that flirty style like he's unafraid has her blushing. Especially with how sincere he seems about it to.
Hyacinth and Gregory both found themselves laughing watching the team up between Gareth and Lucy. Oh were they fun! Nothing like the other players from before!
By the time the group of friends finished the prologue it was late and they agreed to pick the game back up in the morning. But first they lock in their routes.
The Bridgertons were ecstatic about the choices. They were even more when the friends fell asleep with the TV on. These players feel different, they make the Bridgertons excited to be a part of the game again. Could this lead to love?
They were going to find out.
When the group of friends woke up they were surprised to find themselves separated and in completely different style of bedrooms. As they went looking for one another, they realized they were in the world of the game they were playing the night before.
Uh oh.

Hey friend! For the character Ask Game: Surprisingly I am not asking about my fave Viscount but rather our girl, Eloise, with the numbers 7, 14, 30
Hi lovely friend! 🫶
Oooh okay. Same disclaimer as before, using show as canon…
Eloise Bridgerton
7: A quote of them that you remember
Ooh so two spring to mind. 1) “All of this because a woman merely changed her mind?’ About the fallout of the non wedding. Yaaas queen, go off about the absurdity. And the other, on the wedding day itself when she snaps at Colin “How should I be? Married and silent?” LOVE her sarcastic barbed quick wit 🥹🫶
14: Best storyline they had
So far I’d say the whole rebellious slipping out of the house to go listen to speeches about radical ideas. Love that for her! I thought the sorta across the classes romance with Theo was cute, but secondary to her blossoming as a feminist activist. I hope they don’t drop that character growth.
30: The funniest scene they had?
I mean I love the ‘moooo’ from Benedict when she griped about being trussed up like a prize cow at auction. Also their whole flower arranging aside together lol. I laughed at the whole ‘where do babies come from’ scene in s1, but that was stolen by Colin, Benedict and Violet tbh. So I think my fave might actually be when she scorned Cressida with the “I’d rather die!” and made Pen snort her drink.
Thanks for your ask lovely 😁🧡🧡

If you were to set up a Bridgerton Taskmaster AU, who would you cast?
I’ve been thinking about this all morning (cause I’m just Done with work and needed a good mental break lol) At first my mind went to Anthony as the taskmaster, but then I was like wait no Kate as Taskmaster and Anthony as little Alex Horne would be hilarious… but I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Hiiiiiiiii, my lovely!! 🫶
OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. It sent me off on a thought tangent all afternoon, so thank you.
I completely agree with your assessment - Kate as Taskmaster and Anthony as the long-suffering assistant Alex Horne. What a visual!
Also, cos I had to, I then had to put 6 of the other Bridgerton sibs in as contestants (sitting in alphabetical order, as they do on the show) Yes I know there are only ever 5 on each season - hush you:
Benedict = The Ray of Sunshine
Just fucking happy - happy to be there, happy to do the tasks...you cannot wipe the smile from their face. Even losing just elicits a grin and a laugh. They will even help their competitors as much as possible, sometimes to the point of self-sacrifice. The very few times you see them frustrated or annoyed are always deeply memorable.
Colin = The Super-Fan
A massive fan of the show and desperately wants to win, to the point of genuine fury when they feel they have been treated unfairly (never without a sense of humour, however). Horrendously competitive but in a hilarious way.
Daphne = The BOSH
Meets the task head-on, generally without any hesitation or forethought whatsoever. Whatever the most straightforward solution, they will go for it. These contestants rarely panic, but when they do, it's beautiful.
Eloise = The Lateral Thinker
Does their best to outsmart the task, with varying degrees of success. Any loophole, any technicality, they will find and exploit. Depending on how far they push it, this may work to their advantage or cost them enormously.
Francesca = who the fuck knows, next
Gregory = The "...I'm slightly worried about this person"
Comes up with shit nobody else would. Solutions that are completely off the wall, sometimes scarily so. Sometimes, this contestant can appear to be the most quiet and unassuming of people, up until the moment the task footage starts rolling.
Hyacythin = The Chaos Machine
Fundamentally unpredictable. Will find the weirdest side roads and twisting paths. Seems to simply do whatever pops into their head.
Okay I had far too much fun with this post (as if you couldn't tell). Thank you SO MUCH for giving me the chance to come up with some shit that overlaps two of my fave comfort shows. Love you 🫶😁🧡🧡

Is this a safe space to say that I don't care about Polin in S3? Colin is such a boring 1 dimensional character that easily gets overshadowed by Anthony and especially Benedict, and Penelope is just a whiny brat who just wants male validation and is jealous of Eloise. Also to act like she never said anything about the Brdgertons is a lie cause she had no problem talking about Daphne, had it not have been for her crush on Colin she would've gone on a jealous rant about his entire family. I know Polin is attractive to some people because of the representation of larger body types and the childhood friends to lovers trope but it's just boring. I can't name 1 intreseting thing about Colin other than he took a vacation and had psychedelic tea and Pen is not as progressive as she thinks she is she's just jealous and bitter. Also how is it that she's such an amazing writer that can communicate in so much detail but can't even communicate to Eloise when Eloise doesn't understand her perspective? She's quick to lash out at her as if Eloise is doing it on purpose, Eloise is not dumb and she has respect it's not like she insults women who want/desire love so there was no reason for Penelope to play victim.
This is totally a safe space because while I don't hate them I don’t particularly care for Polin either.
In the books it’s a bit better because Penelope isn’t as much of a snake), but she isn’t my fave by a long shot.
Penelope on the show is straight-up awful. She started pretty sympathetic, but then the Marina situation happened and that turned me completely off of her character. So by the time she had her falling out with Eloise(who did nothing wrong and has every right to be angry with her), I was already checked out.
Yes, she’s not very popular with the ton.* Yes not being seen sucks. Yes her mother is kind of mean to her and forces her to wear the most hideous outfits which is probably a turn-off for most men. Yes she wants Collin and he doesn’t want her and that sucks, but that’s no excuse for her actions.
Honestly, Penelope is half a step away from being a whole stalker and yet we are supposed to see ourselves in her or at least sympathize with her🫠
(I’m not going to get into her being bullied by Cressida since she’s nasty to everyone).
It’s kind of obvious though that Shonda sees herself in her which is why Penelope is promoted so much and given the angle she has been, but she’s a weirdo with insecurity issues.
To be honest, I thought she should’ve gotten a redemption arc before her season(she’s not unredeemable, she just needs to clean up her act), but it is what it is.
Now Collin both in the show and the books is incredibly dull to me. Yes, he has his traveling(and spoilers, his writing about his travels), but he’s just kind of there. He is just the third Bridgerton bro and while Luke Newton is attractive I feel nothing when I look at him playing Colin.
That cheesy promo they had the other day did nothing for me(well I did laugh, but I don’t think that’s the intended reaction). I don’t know what to say other than he’s just meh. To me, he’s not leading man material and I’m not seeing the chemistry with Penelope/her actress, but again it is what it is.
As far as representation goes, I’m not a plus-sized woman, but I know that it is important to see yourself and to want to see yourself represented on screen.
I think that’s the essence of Bridgerton/what it is trying to accomplish because let’s be honest period dramas are not very diverse. I think that Bridgerton has kind of changed that to a degree.
I don’t want to hype up the show too much cause it’s not perfect, but without this shows success I don’t think that films and shows like Tom Jones, Interview With the Vampire, The Confessions of Frannie Langton, Mr. Malcom’s List, The Buccaneers, and now The Davenports (which I’m excited for) would’ve been nesscary green-lit or the plot would’ve been changed to make it more diverse if not for Bridgerton.
I hate bringing this up, but I don’t even know if the dumbass showrunners of HOTD would’ve made the Velaryons Black if not for them looking at how successful Bridgerton is without understanding that the reason why it's successful is that they don't treat their Black characters like they leftovers. It’s about respect not just having people there to pat yourselves on the back and say look how progressive we are, but I digress.
I mean representation in terms of body type is not comparable to representation in terms of race, but it feels good when characters who look like you aren't shown in the worst light, when they are the main character, or when they have been given actual characterization and aren't made into a joke.
So I get why people love Penelope and Polin and understand why they are looking forward to their season, but personally, they just aren't my cup of tea.
That all being said, I’m still going to watch the season cause I love Bridgerton, I’m kind of hoping we’ll see Sophie this season
(Praying that she's Masali Baduza or just any Black actress 🙏🏽I’m not picky, as long as Sophie's actress is Black, you won’t see me complaining).
I’ll end this by saying that I’m a Benophie girl and while I’ve made peace with the fact that Polin got the lead instead(and I’m actually low-key glad they did), I don’t think this is going to blow my socks off, but I hope it gives the people who have been waiting for it everything they want.

Rebecca..please stop with the internalized fat phobia. Polin may not be beloved as they haven’t had their season yet but Nicola is loved by the MASSES. If you just got outside your little delusional Twitter bubble you’d see that everyone, even locals love her. She just got a few hit tweets the other day. I know you want her to flop but she won’t. And at the end of the day Penelope will get her redemption and a HEA with the love of her life and you and your little croonies will get turned against. Enjoy December, I know you’re waiting just as impatiently as we are.
Ah yes..... The classic 'fatphobia' accusation! Let's dive into that shall we?
First of all I'm a TRUE curvy woman. I've got a belly, I've got thighs, etc. What does Pen have? She's just short with big boobs. That's it.
Secondly, I actually loved Pen in S1 because I felt like she was some rep for women/girls who looked liked me. I hadn't read the books prior to watching S1 so I didn't know she was also LW. But even if I had, LW in the books isn't NEARLY as nasty as she or Pen is on the show.
So my entire opinion and perspective of her changed in that final S1 reveal. I remember sitting there going: "Okay so she's actually kind of terrible to do that to Marina, her cousin, her confidant."
And she really only got worse in S2 when she pulled the shit she did on Eloise.
As a curvy/plus size woman, it was EXTREMELY disappointing that they made the plus size/fat/curvy woman this nasty and jealous person. Almost depicting her in a villain like fashion. As if to say: "Hey, plus size women are all jealous and vindictive bitches who want to expose the 'prettier' women in a bad light!" (even though what Marina & Eloise did wasn't near as bad as the shit she does)
Now, you say that the 'locals' love her.... That's just not true. The fandom and general audience don't like her. I like to chat with co-workers at work about shows, etc and several of us got on the subject of Bridgerton. And at least 4 other women/people at my work all mentioned they HATE Penelope. That she was out of line for pulling the shit she did. That she doesn't deserve her HEA. And that her being S3 will feel rushed because she doesn't deserve it right now. Not to mention, I've seen articles talking shit about her and calling her evil.
'She got a few hit tweets the other day' Girl.... Hit tweets doesn't mean she's beloved. Let me know when I see her or her ship trending ALL DAY like Benedict Bridgerton, Sophie Beckett AND Benophie all did the day YOUR ship was announced as S3. Your fave is not beloved even by the fandom, let alone the general audience.
Trust me when I say, none of us will ever love Pen or her boring ass boyfriend. I don't even plan on watching S3 tbh. The only way I might is if Sophie is introduced, otherwise I'll just find cuts/scenes of other characters I love on youtube or twitter.
Wake up and smell reality b/c you're living in a fantasy world and embarrassing for you.

What made you ship Siena/Anthony?? Given that you also like Kate/Anthony. Obviously you can like both but I’m just curious since not many ship the former if they like the latter. The fandom isn’t big on multi shipping.
Oh hi anon!
Honestly, I liked them because they came from different mediums, so in the show Siena served a purpose in the narrative that made it work for me.
Honestly, the story of kanthony in the books isn’t actually my fave, the longer I’ve spent after reading it. I think book Anthony is very aggressive, and their dynamic is kind of weird in parts. But I loved the way she forces him to see that this plans to be lonely forever and to never find love because he’s sure he’ll die young are just… dumb. And I love how much she takes him by surprise. He never expects her and that’s always fun. Plus, the antagonists to lovers vibe is always fun.
Going into s2 tho, I LOVE the actress they chose to play Kate, and I love the changes they’ve made to Anthony, which I think also make me more excited for Kanthony. He’s a lot softer, I think they’ve taken out his aggression and turned it into him being very earnest in his efforts to do what’s right, if maybe he does the wrong thing through those efforts.
And honestly his relationship with Siena is part of that? Like we see that he’s not actually against love, just against a ‘proper’ love. He can die, and Siena won’t be left abandoned like his family was after his father, because they were never going to actually be a family. He allows himself to ‘love’ Siena because it’s safer. He knew they could never be together, so he doesn’t have to feel that anxiety when he’s with her. Now that he has to find a wife, he has resigned himself to doing his duty, rather than following his heart, because it keeps him ‘safe’ from that fear and anxiety.
I think him and Siena had extraordinary chemistry, and I think she was the perfect way to show us that Anthony has such huge capacity for love before his season, so that we know it’s only a matter of time before he falls for Kate. I feel like she got a lot of hate, and I don’t really get why? Like it’s obvious she was never going to be his endgame romance, and it’s also obvious that he wasn’t in love with her, he just loved her and found companionship with her. It also showed us that he likes women who don’t play by the rules, he doesn’t want a Daphne type debutante, he wants someone who will challenge him, which really reinforces that edwina is never going to be the right choice for him in s2.
I think Siena was the perfect set up to follow Anthony into s2, showing that he does want to find love, which will make his efforts to stop himself from falling for Kate all the more angsty and dramatic. Plus, I think him going into s2 with a bit of a broken heart adds to that angsty mess because he will have convinced himself that Siena was his true love, and that nobody could compare. Enter, Kate Sharma.
Honestly, I just think they both work for me because they serve different purposes? And honestly the chemistry and the fun, carefree feeling of Anthony and Siena’s relationship towards the beginning was so refreshing. I’m a sucker for him wanting to protect her and keep her safe even though he knew he shouldn’t. Plus, it makes Kate’s weird jealousy about the opera singer from the book actually make more sense. i also really want the show to focus more on ‘regular’ people, which is why i’m also a huge sucker for Theo x Eloise, and i was hoping for more Benedict x Genevieve too, though that pairing got way less development
Idk if that answers your question?

Happy New Year to one of my very favorite people on this site!! I just saw that you like Bridgerton, aka my newest fandom addiction, and would love to hear your favorite/least favorite Bridgerton characters and ships?
Happy New Year to you, too!
I love Bridgerton! I watched the first season twice in a row, then watched it again before the second season. I also watched the second season twice. I read the books, though I'm not one that doesn't love the upgrades.
My absolute favorite character is Lady Danbury. She's amazing. Oh, Kate Sharma is one of my faves. I like strong women that don't take any crap, so most of the women in the show are excellent. I don't love the Featheringtons except for Penelope. They're just mean.
My favorite ship is Colin and Penelope. My girl deserves to be treated better than she is, so I can't wait for this coming season. The books are a little different, so I have no idea what hijinks will ensue.
I loved Simon and Daphne, and it makes me sad that the actor doesn't want to continue. They may not recast, so we just get Daphne alone from now on. Anthony and Kate are so on fire. I love how they challenge each other constantly. FYI: the men are greatly improved in the show as opposed to the books. I can't wait to see what they do with Benedict and Eloise. They are both so unique and creative. It will be interesting to see who they pair them with.

My first and always beloved mutual!!! I hope 2023 brings you nothing but joy. I noticed that you like Bridgerton, aka my newest fandom addiction, and would love to hear your favorite/least favorite Bridgerton characters and ships?
Thanks you so much, lovely! I am starting off 2023 all smiles and I know it's largely because of wonderful mutuals like you. 😉 💜
And yes! I am also a Bridgerton fan. I've read all the books except for Gregory's, and my favorite couples go as follows: Kathony, Polin, Michael and Francesca, Gareth and Hyacinth, Eloise and Phillip, Daphne and Simon, and Sophie and Benedict.
If we're talking show-verse, though, I have to add Eloise and Theo. I fell for them HARD in season two. They were so cute! I'm always a sucker for a good forbidden love or class differences/station trope.
What about you? How do your fave ships rank?

who do you think will be next bridgerton lead?
So the thing is I actually really don't like the Bridgerton show 💀🫣 and so I don't really follow it metatextually. It's getting worse now because Pen and Colin are having their time to shine, and they are a) my faves in the books, and b) my absolute least faves in the show. Mean, spiteful, petty Penelope doesn't work for me, and show Colin is also a dick imo. Which sucks because the actors are great! Nicola is SO TALENTED!
The point of this is to say that I'm not up with the show. I don't know much of what's happening. I do hope Sophie and Benedict eventually get their day because I'm kinda pissed at them for skipping over Queen Sophie. But honestly I'm kinda doubting they'll get a season since they were overtly skipped and lots of people want to see Benedict in an m/m relationship and they probably don't want to deal with backlash. So... Eloise and Phillip. Which sucks, they're disgusting together in the books. Eloise deserved better.

Pen makes him interesting okay? I said what I said. So if the season is focused on her finding her way and him finally wising up and him having to work for it in terms of being able to court her the way she should be courted on her own terms then yes, I’d watch that. Especially after her whole family keeps acting like she’s got no prospects when pfft I hate to be that bitch pitting sisters against each other but she’s the one with the most prospects thanks. Also friends to lovers?? Excellent trope thanks. It’s legit my next fave - 1) enemies to lovers (but like done properly (like S2), fake dating! (God do I love that) and friends to lovers. And yep, the foundation has been laid but I want to see him grow up and I want to see her mend things with Eloise (and vice versa because painful things were said) and like I said before I don’t want another off screen wedding for any couple because I still feel deprived because we didn’t get a Kanthony one. So I’m a little unsure for how that will be tackled in 8 eps but really I am here for Kanthony, Benedict, Eloise, Pen x Eloise as all the other narratives to the main story too. I am here for Pen making Colin work for it please. Because it’s about damn time he wised up. It makes sense that he’s the Bridgerton it’s about but it’s really Pen’s story. I mean, Lady W is the “unseen” narrator of it all and since they revealed her identity in season 1, it makes sense to tackle this story earlier rather than later.
But yes, she makes him interesting to me and that’s probably an unkind thought about the character but it’s true. Also I do think they’ll use Fran’s launch on society as the main ton thing and use that to show how the ton is reacting to Kate x Anthony and Eloise post season 2.

The way I was unconsciously looking for Benophie Easter eggs THE MINUTE I STARTED SEASON 2
Here are some I remember (feel free to add if I missed one - also spoilers below the cut)
Benedict’s “what is it to admire a woman” poem
Benedict talking about how abhorrent Byron is: aka the poetry Sophie reads him at My Cottage
The entire Theo-Eloise dynamic: they’re essentially a younger, tamer Benophie and the scenes where Theo calls out Eloise on her privilege are similar to when Sophie tells Benedict he has no idea how bad she has it/why she can’t go for what she wants, but obviously being a woman in regency London Sophie has it much worse than Theo
Benedict’s imposter syndrome after he finds out Anthony donated to the Royal Academy: not so much Benophie but an overall AOFAG Easter egg because Benedict’s inner struggle from the book - about being the second born Bridgerton who’s only ever known for being a Bridgerton - starts from this scene imo and it ends up becoming a pretty pivotal moment in his relationship with Sophie
My only qualm is we didn’t have any EXPLICIT HINTS to AOFAG at the end, not in the way they cued TVWLM at the end of season 1 (when Anthony says he’s gonna look for a wife but not for love + the tulips Violet embroiders) but nonetheless I’m still obviously very excited for my faves to finally take the lead

What were your favorite moments in Bridgerton (not including Kate and Anthony)? And then your favorite Kate and Anthony moments?
Honestly, finding moments I would genuinely call "favorites" that didn't involve Kate and Anthony together is very hard. But in no particular order:
Eloise LIGHTING PENELOPE UP. Actually, this is definitely my favorite NON-Kate/Anthony moment. She mentioned! It! All! And how valid of her? It's honestly hysterical to me that people are still trying to say that Penelope is a good person--she can be your fave, but she is a garbage human being by any stretch of the imagination and Eloise was completely right here. Penelope's feeble attempts to fight back only made it funnier. An insipid wallflower, indeed. I also, as someone who generally finds Eloise annoying, found this very sympathetic. It just would be such a mindfuck to have your best friend, who you've been loyal to through thick and thin, drag you and your family through the mud like that. I never said Eloise is a cunt! Eloise is my friend!
Colin saying that he'd never marry Penelope, mainly because it's honestly going to be ridiculous of them to try to back out of that one, but they will. In the book, it was a flustered comment of a young guy being teased by his brothers, and he feels like shit about it immediately. In the show, he doesn't know she heard it, he acts like he would rather die than fuck her, he says "ARE YOU MAD?" and is incredibly pithy. If there was supposed to be NUANCE to that moment, I missed it. But honestly, Luke Newton is a very dull actor, so maybe there was.
Edwina gets a prince. I love Edwina. I would like to see her back next season so I can watch her supercut scenes. But if I don't, I'll assume she married the prince whether or not it's mentioned.
*not involving Kate so it counts* Anthony college admissions scandal-ing Benedict. Fucking hilarious. I too would do whatever is necessary to send Benedict off to art school so that he can realize that he's not actually good at art. Also, this played into the idea that Anthony is just paying everyone's bills and they're fucking lucky to have him (even though they're ungrateful cuntburgers, ALL OF 'EM) and that's sexy of him.
Anthony going to Benedict's art school and being like "YOU LIVE LIKE THIS" with his 5 o'clock shadow. Benedict is the only Bridgerton besides Anthony (and Penelope Evisceration Eloise) I wouldn't push off a cliff, so. I enjoyed their banter. Anthony stepping into an art school and being repulsed by everyone there is very reflective of me attending art school for literal years. I enjoy the way Luke T. and JB play off each other. You could interchange this with Benedict loudly asking Anthony if there's a reason why the wedding is being called off THAT HE CAN ONLY TELL HIM. Benedict just assumed that Kate was fully pregnant, and I think that's both hilarious and wise of him. The only one in that family who actually knows Anthony, lbr. Should've figured that he got his way into art school paid for, based both off the quality of his work and Anthony being Anthony.
(I also think it's very funny to imagine Anthony being too happy with his own personal life now that he's married and getting that good pussy from Kate on the regular to like... actually resolve things with Benedict. Like they had one fraught convo about him Olivia Jade-ing Benedict and then he was like "... anyway! Gonna go try to get Kate to marry me (again)! Love is so wild, Benedict!" Season 3 is gonna start and Benedict is gonna be like it's been a year and I'm still mad about that and Anthony's gonna be like "lmao my wife is fucking pregnant I don't have time for this I'm NESTING, BENEDICT".).
As for Kate/Anthony moments, in no particular order:
The sex scene(?). Let's call it GazeboGate + those Guilty Flashbacks. As much as I want more, it's what I got, and I do appreciate that he took care of her lol. I wish it was edited differently, but I know they shot good material and I will be leading a March On Shondaland for the tapes. We storm at dawn. (Just kidding, as I feel I must clarify in these trying times.). As I've discussed in my tags, I loved all the tongue, the handholding while he's going down on her (FOR MORAL SUPPORT), the fact that he kissed her right after going down on her (nice to know where they land on that debate). I also did love the buildup. The "Go. In. Side." warning shot was very classic historical romance. I think it's extremely hilarious that he went for her clit immediately and then was like I WILL STOP. Really dude? I think the barrier has been breached here.
The little postnuptial moment that extended into a makeout in front of his stupid family. I like to think that everyone was welcomed home for that Pall Mall game and then sent away so that they could fuck around the house. I'm so glad they went on a six month honeymoon as a reprieve from those ungrateful wretches that leech off the money he doesn't work for but nonetheless BALANCES. I loved him calling her viscountess. I love the touching. INEEDMORE.MP3.
I actually did really like the big spiel about India not being far enough away. It was very horny. I think it would be even better if they'd kissed or if he'd fingerblasted her with the door open, but aside from that I fully approved. JB can deliver a line, I gotta say. As a full trashbag, I also do love, as one Twitter user astutely pointed out, this was just him being like listen I'm gonna wanna cheat on her with you every day until I finally do it.
Apoloprosal. I'm a sucker for an apoloprosal in historical romance. Please read Sarah MacLean's Nine Rules to Break When Romancing A Rake if you want Peak Apoloprosal. Anthony showing up with tulips like "very sorry I licked you to orgasm, please accept my hand" is so funny to me. Him like, jamming the ring in her face. Her being horrified, because yeah, you would be, and she's fresh off a TBI. Also lol, him awkwardly being like "I DIDN'T PICTURE IT GOING DOWN, OR RATHER ME GOING DOWN, LIKE THAT". What did you picture??? I know he fantasized about some ridiculous canopy bed gauzy sheets situation and they both cried after and held hands and snuggled for six hours. Maybe we didn't see the wedding night because it would be too embarrassingly emotional.
The how many fingers am I holding up momentttt. So brief, but representative of the shit I wish we'd seen more of! If I'd run this season I would've actually kept a lot of Kate and Anthony's shit the same in terms of the love triangle and premarital sex, I just would've cut subplots and moved everything up 1-2 episodes so that we could have more time with them married/figuring their shit out. But this like? Fondness? And everything being laced with the charge of them knowing that they've done sexual shit to each other and nobody knows and he's trying to make her feel comfortable while also feeling like he's ruined her life and everyone is looking at them??? MY JAM.

You’ve probably answered this but what did you think of season 2? Highs and lows? Would love to know your view!
I'm starting from the lows,,,
I didn't like the lady Whistledown plot. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse she ruined Eloise.
The featheringtons plot was somewhat interesting at the beginning but it was very boring after half way.
Colin was once again scammed by the featheringtons and I'm glad he got back to his senses in the end.
I liked the queen this season, especially after how she saved kathony and blackmailed everyone lol.
Eloise and Theo are my loves. I was so invested in their plot. I'd like to see more of them.
Benedict was such a delight to watch. I'm glad he got more screen time. I loved that they made him Anthony's wingman. Also the way how they ended things with him would be a great start for his own season next.
Lady D and Kate's dynamics is one of my faves.
Apart from kathony my other favourite this season is Violet. She had really amazing scenes with Anthony. The scenes with the two of them are so powerful and very emotional. Loved how she was always there for him when he needed her the most (in 1814).
All the family scenes with the Bridgertons are just chefs kiss. Daphne though she had less screentime her scenes had huge impact.
I just loved kate and Edwina. Their dynamics is the best. I'm glad we got to see "the kathony shipper" Edwina during the last episode. I'm hoping she'd return for next season.
I Loved every second when kathony's on the screen either together or individually. Their chemistry is top tier. I wish they got more screentime. I'm really glad that they didn't rush in the end and give them a baby. Now they'd have a lot to explore next season. Domestic Kathony, Pregnant Kate, Anthony being a mother hen, baby Ed, I'd like to see them all next season!
To me season 2 is perfect. I couldn't have asked for anything more!!!

I don’t currently like Penelope very much BUT I hope now that she’s on her villain era and has no friends nor someone to lust over (and I’m sure next season as she has no friends to feel pity for she’s gonna harm tons of people) I really hope they stop doing her hair that way. The actress its soso pretty and they always have her in the worst hair (her whole family really). Hopefully as she isolates herself from her family and friends that means her looks will be more distinguished too. I also hope the upcoming season is Benedict’s. For one, he’s one of my fave characters lmao but ALSO:
1) Eloise and Teo are incredibly cute together, and If Eloise is to go with the plant dude like in the books, one more season to close better the whole Teo arc will be good. If the finale of this season was supposed to close that, it didn’t do a good job. It doesn’t feel like a closed chapter. I would be all for them to changing from the books and have her with Teo or a girl. But I doubt as much as they change, that they’ll change the characters pairs of the main seasons. So it can’t be Eloise’s season yet.
2) I don’t want it to be Penelope’s season bc she’s still excusing (and many viewers too) her actions too much. It would be better to go fully “idgaf” next season so she can truly get a big shock on the harm she causes and solves her relationship with Eloise before her romantic arc truly starts. Because if next season is her season, then it would immediately be about her and Colin, and she needs some redemption and to grown, learn more before I care about her romantic relationships. That’s not a bad thing. As much as I don’t like her right now, it also means I’m interested in what they do with her character next aside from romance. If they throw her in romance it would be boring. Plus it would be nice to start seeing her grow far from romance (both in Colin but also in her writing) and see her character grow into herself more before a relationship-focus storyline starts.
3) People who are fans of the books were disappointed Eloise found out about Penelope before Colin. Because Colin knowing first was important for their relationship. THAT SAID, listen lets be honest. Those are kinda very heterosexual, non groundbreaking books. That is to say, the feminism (and in the show too) is very superficial. There’s a lot more worth in the storyline of Penelope’s secret being about her relationships with other women and how those women feel about gender roles and how they manage to fight and then (hopefully) find each other again learning and growing in a man’s world, rather than her secret storyline being about her relationship with a man :/
i much prefer the next season to be about someone else’s romance and to see Eloise and Penelope both grow into feminism (that means Penelope letting go of the idea that Eloise couldn’t be happy for her or jealousy, and Eloise learning to accept women who are more average and don’t exactly think like her), AND to see them come together again with a new perspective and understanding of their friendship and how to move forward (and maybe work together) to allow the writings to aid women’s future. Letting the feminism of the books AND show be a lot less shallow. And the romance plot can be for Benedict, who is complex now enough for a season with his desires AND funny af shfjfj. And in the show he is the perfect getaway to either Colin or Eloise’s season being s4 as Benedict is the one who interacts the most with them. Also before Eloise’s season I hope they work more on her bond with Daphne. Eloise looks down on Daphne a lot (and other women) because she doesn’t respect that they don’t aspire more work wise like Eloise. But Eloise overlooks how much Daphne has been willing to risk in the past for her family. She made many jokes on Daphne in s1 completely overlooking that Daphne’s life was on the line a lot. I want that to also be something they touch on before Eloise’s season. None of the “comparisons” to Daphne. I want them to be sisters.
Edit: fuck the books I want Eloise and Theo to make it work so bad pls i am sjfjfjf they have such good chemistry????????????
