♡ Only child of Rocket Boss, Giovanni. Was born and raised on Island 5 of the Sevii Islands by multiple admins, most commonly Archer before running away to Johto. Has a deep rooted and consistent fear that he’ll never amount to anything but “Giovanni's kid”. Was extremely tight lipped about his upbringing to the trio, especially after learning of his loose connection to Lyras father’s passing. Finally told them the truth of his family after the defeat and final disbandment of Team Rocket.

♡ Originally extremely standoffish, condescending and at times, aggressive. As an adult is still quite serious and independent, but genuinely enjoys the time he spends with his friends and is surprisingly protective of them - especially Lyra and Kris. As time passed, his anger towards his father evolved more into guilt, however, over the years has become more patient, gentle and forgiving with not only others but himself. He still can come off quite intimidating to strangers, but these changes are noticeably visible to those close to him. While usually a quiet person, has a very dry and witty sense of humour that takes most people by surprise.

♡ Mentored by Lance, and later Blue, and spends a large amount of time training in the Dragons Den. While unsure of what direction he wants his life to go into, Lance is adamant he would make a fantastic gym leader or elite four member. Not the best at articulating himself but always puts 110% into making sure people feel comfortable through his actions.

♡ Completed the 8 Johto gyms but never challenged the Elite Four & Lance in favour for persuing his true passions. Currently works at the Goldenrod Radio Tower where he co-hosts a program consisting of interviewing gym leaders, elite four, champions and other prolific battlers. At nights, does standup in the clubs in the Goldenrod Tunnel. Due to his easy-going nature and career, tends to knows everyone’s buisness + gossip and has crazy experiences with nearly any person imaginable.

♡ Mature, soft spoken and extremely intellegent - both academically and socially. Because of this, can offer solutions on any issue on both a practical and emotional level, no matter the person and situation. Has unique relationships with all three kids but in general sees them as her younger siblings and takes the role as the 'older sister' very seriously. Has a warm and comforting presence, making those even to the likes of Silver feel comfortable confinding in her.

♡ Quite reserved and struggled with her purpose and sexuality growing up, espcially in rural Johto. After the death of her uncle and seeing her daughter’s interests in the Wallace Cups and contests, her mother moved the two to the Hoenn region, settling in Lilycove City when Kris was 13. While starting her gym challenge in the new region, Kris fell in love with Hoenn's unique weather patterns and ecosystems. Eventually she quit the gym challenge to peruse a career as a meteorologist where she now works at the weather institute. When not working, she enjoys attending contests, museums and scuba diving. Finally feeling settled in life, she came out to her family + the trio when she was 20.

Spinel

Rivals - Spinel was so annoyed when he almost got the pendant by manipulating Liko with his Pokemon then you appear and start acting loke superman, breaking Liko from the hyonosis was his last straw where he just started spamming moves on you and your pokemon. He didn't even care about Liko at this point he was just doing this because he's petty.

Softening up - Spinel stopped hating you which is good, but did you stop hating Spinel? We don't know, he started becoming less mean and snarky to you, always tells his Pokémon to hit the other RVT members. Even his Umbreon started liking you

Liking you - He was shocked himself, like how would he the most greatest and best person in the Explorers fall inlove with a weakling like you who is part of that annoying brats group but it happened so...

Lovers - Spinel becomes a total different person no forced snarky look, but he's smug about it. Like when you start scolding him for attacking Liko he's like "You wanna kiss me so bad it's funny"

Amethio

Rivals - Amethio is a different stories he also hated your guts, but he never hid the fact that he did. Amethio was bold and made it CRYSTAL CLEAR that he hated you more than you hated him. To him you're just another nuisance to him from his success, especially from that pendant.

He secretly becomes more competitive like purposely aiming at you in a battle with Friede

Softening up - nothing noticeable really changed about Amethio he is still cold dull Amethio. What did change a little is his gaze this may sound cheesy, but his gaze becomes softer when you're around, like when he's stalking the airship and randomly finds you walking alone with your pokemon his gaze can't help but soften. Until Konia and Zir said "Boss you alright?" He starts acting professional again.

Liking you - He knew it, but he would never admit it. Amethio is stubborn and thinks things like that are unimportant, so he put his feelings aside and just treated you like a normal Explorers member. It failed after 6 months, but he still didn't have the boldness to do that. You confessed first.

Lovers - Amethio is still quiet and closed nothing changes, nobody noticed anything your top excuses to go walk with him is "I'm gonna go adventure for a while" . In private he's less cold, and treats you like an actual partner instead of just being "A RVT MEMBER" he's not a fan of PDA like Spinel, maybe someday he will be comfortable with that. Amethio is a busy bee, and his old rival being his lover is one of the things he can't process yet.

I knew from the get go that there are 8 Bridgerton siblings (in alphabetical order) plus Violet. But one fact I realised and found it amusing is that there are also 8 Eevee evolutions (Eeveelutions) plus Eevee. So I thought, why not have each Bridgerton have an Eeveelution. (I also nicknamed each of the Eeveelutions I caught in a Pokemon game based on the Bridgertons, but I digress...)

This is my own interpretation on the Bridgertons and which Eeveelution fits them as their partner. I'm happy to hear from any Bridgerton and Pokemon fans to have their own ideas on which Pokemon suits them. 😊

So here are the Bridgerteons:

Violet - Eevee 🦊👑

Violet is the matriarch of the Bridgerton family, so obviously she gets an Eevee. She also wants to see all of her children find love and have happy marriages. She knows each of her children are different and that each couple has different experiences in love, like Eevee being adaptive in its environment.

Anthony - Jolteon⚡

Anthony is competitive, has mood swings, difficult, stubborn and protective. Jolteon is all those things. As the Viscount, he has a duty in helping his family be one of the best in the Ton. The death of his father plagued him, so he's emotionally closed off, like Jolteon's spikes on its body. Fortunately, he is loyal and would open his heart to the ones he loves and cares about. So he gets a Jolteon.

Benedict - Vaporeon 🌊

Both are chill, peaceful, go with the flow, calm and, as canon in the show, bisexual. Also, Benedict likes to hide from debutantes and their mamas, like Vaporeon likes to camouflage and melt into water. So he gets a Vaporeon. (No dirty jokes about Vaporeon, please 🙄)

Colin - Umbreon 🌙

Colin wants to be a hero, likes being needed, and spreading light and joy to his loved ones. He is vulnerable, sensitive and kind to people he is close to, while under a facade when surrounded by the Ton, like the light and dark side of the moon. He always finds Penelope during balls and at night a couple of times, like an aura connection. So definitely an Umbreon.

Daphne - Sylveon 🎀

As the eldest daughter, Daphne is poise, elegant, gentle, and has great emotional intelligence. She can also be brave (she does charge towards Anthony and Simon while they are in a duel, like fairy types charging in towards dragon types in battles), competitive and assertive. So Sylveon it is.

Eloise - Espeon 🔮

Eloise likes to read, wants to change the world as a woman, and cynical. She's also quite a detective in identifying Lady Whistledown or people's 🐂💩, but is not great in identifying what people are feeling. Also, they have the same letter. So an Espeon.

Francesca - Flareon 🔥

Francesca loves playing the piano and an introvert, so she's most likely indoors. She is brave and curious on what she wants to find herself and to find a partner who gets her. Also the same letter. So a Flareon. (It does help that Flareon will be keeping her warm during colder months in Scotland while playing the piano 😉).

Gregory - Glaceon ❄️

Gregory is cheeky, young, fun and likes to pull pranks. He likes to be part of the Bridgerton shenanigans. He wants to join with his big brothers in anything, despite being young. Also the same letter. So a Glaceon.

Hyacinth - Leafeon 🍃

Hyacinth is also cheeky and young, but also an optimistic, loves romance, freespirited and innocent. She wants to be part of the glamour, gossip and excitement within the Ton. Also her name is based on a flower. So a Leafeon.

*Note: I'm being deliberate in calling it Bridgerteons as it is a combination of Bridgerton and Eon (a suffix for all the Eeveelutions, meaning a long period of time. It suits them as it takes a long time for them to find a partner, fall in love and get married 😏).

Kricketot & Cricketune Behaviour, Body Language, and Culture

I love Kircketune so much, and I was so happy to find that Paldea had Kricketune (never got that nostalgic kricket song to go to sleep to, I just got the sound of Charjabug electricity to fall asleep to :C). Anyways, post about them!

Body Language & Behaviour

Singing

We all know this one, but it's still worth mentioning considering how much they do it. Kricketune sing to communicate, attract mates, and to show they're battle ready.

Spreading out arms

A lot of people view this as a sign of aggression, but it's not. The Kricketune is just letting you know it does not want to be bothered.

Rubbing Claws Together

Kricketune rub their claws together to show that they are happy.

Jumping side-to-side

A behaviour primarily done by Kricketot. It's the same reason Kricketune rub their class together; to show they're happy.

Notes & Emotions

Kricketune's show their different emotions by playing different melodies, and the melodies vary between each Kricketune and each group, but they all still follow a similar universal pattern. Think of it as how people from completely different parts of the world still smile to show that they're happy. When Kricketune make a chalkboard sound (you know the one I am talking about), this means that they are angry, upset, or aggressive. When Kricketune are happy, they make a xylophone-like sound. When they're sad, they make a low-note sound.

Colliding Antenna

As one of their many ways of communication, Kricketot will collide their antenna together to create a sound. Different patterns can mean different things, and it's important to pay attention to your Kricketot since what they mean can very between Orchestras (name for a group of Krickets).

Bathing

Krickets are very prideful and clean pokemon, and they absolutely hate getting dirty. Since submerging themselves in water can damage Kricketune's wings (yes, they have wings and can fly), and Kricketot can't swim (legs too stubby), they will instead go into shallow water and rub wet leaves on themselves to get all of the dirt and grime off. Krickets bathe very often and view being dirty as something no one should be.

Culture

Orchestras

My personal favorite behavior from them. Kricketune love attention and having an audience, and they'll often make musical tunes and play it to attract other pokemon. While orchestras are used for attention and entertainment, Kricketune will also use orchestras as a way to celebrate something or mourn a fallen friend.

Singing Competitions

To attract mates, Kricketot and Kricketune will have singing competitions. It's exactly what it sounds like. Kricketune sing to attract mates, with the one with the best tune attracting the most partners. These are heald in a competition based format, but there isn't one main winner, as the best singer is subjective.

Villages

Kricket villages aren't like the ones humans or Tinkaton make, but they're close. Krickets live in large colonies, making their homes in fields and plains. Different Kricket families will live in different homes made from hollowed out trees or dens. Their homes are close to each other, with places to store foods and use the bathroom in separate areas. Kricketot villages almost always have a flattened out area on either dirt or rocks to be their stage. As you can probably tell, performing and music is very important to them.

Conductors

Conductors are leaders of Kricket Groups; giving them orders and keeping everything in check. In Hisui, Conductors would often be Alpha Kricketune, but as the gene died out, it would end up being any Kricketune that was able to battle for it. While providing food, being head of making shelters, and keeping everyone safe, Conductors are also teachers; often teaching young Kricketot different tunes and leading orchestras (the Kricketune on the right in the first image was actually this groups Conductor!)

Raising Young

Female Krickets can lay up to 12 small eggs in a clutch. Because of this, families tend to be big. But, Krickets have a very "hands off" approach when it comes to raising their young, with entire colonies providing nessecaties like food and water, but letting the young Kricketots explore the world on their own. Conductors and older Krickets will train them on how to battle and make music.

Battling

While Krickets are very peaceful pokemon, every pokemon battles, and each species has differing views on battling. Krickets are primarily focused on music, but battling is taught to them as well in case of potential danger and needing to defend themselves. Every once in a while, Kricketune will battle to attract mates instead of sing.

-he wasnt really sure where he should take you for your guys's date (hes trying his best!). maybe a cute little walk around Alola or the Team Skull base so he could show you off to the others. the date would kinda be all over the place, you guys would be in the forest for a walk, then at the beach, then the next you guys are suddenly in the city looking at all the shops.

-and while the two of you are walking he always has an arm around you and quietly observing you. he would notice how your eyes would light up when you found something you like but then turn away because it would be too expensive, he would get it for you either way. it doesnt matter how he gets it, just as long as your happy.

-he teases you a bit during the date, i mean of course he would he’s Guzma. Constantly complimenting how you look and how good you would look in certain clothing you look at. something he does is that he pokes your sides while you guys are walking and laughs a bit as you yelp.

-this moment is special to him, so if anyone dare to ruin this date with you, whether it be a Team Skull member, a trainer, or whoever, they will face his wrath. how dare someone waste the two of your time together.

-once it gets dark the two of you just sit down staring at the moon together, enjoying each others presence wether it be in silence or not. he adores the way the moon reflects upon your face and eyes. he does not regret spending the day in your presence, nor will he ever forget it.

-he definitely takes you on a shopping date, or wherever you want. totally will take you to all the attractions they have to offer in Galar! and wherever the two of you go he is taking all the silly pictures he can get! when going clothes shopping hell have you try on clothes he think you'd look good in and he'll take a picture so he could post them for later!

-like Guzma, he likes to have you close, so he intertwines his hand with yours while the two of you are out together. and when the two of you are walking together he loves to poke or lightly pinch your cheeks! he also teases you a bit.

-anything you gaze at he automatically buys for you. you can looks at a top or Pokemon plush for a split second and hes already in the store buying it fir you. you tell him that he doesnt have to but he still does it anyways, you basically have to pry him out of the store. but of course he doesnt mind buying you things, he would do anything for you of course.

-he loves seeing how happy you look when you walk around looking at all the amazing shops and such. just looking at you brings him happiness and hes greatful that hes able to spend times like this with you for the rest of his life.

-whenever you guys stop by an arcade or any place where you can win things or play he acts like a child. he drags you along so he could show off how good he is at these games, and of course he wins you more gifts than you already need. i can also see him getting really competitive with kids who are playing the same game as him.

-after that as i said before he would preform a special concert just for you. but he understand that you're tired so itll just be a slow song. hed take the lead a bit before letting his Pokemon continue the song so he could dance with you. then hed sit down and rest with you while continuing to sing- aaaaaaa how cute!

-i have the biggest headcannon that he likes to give people trinkets or souvenirs, so he would totally give you small creepy cute trinkets during your date. and with you the amount of trinkets he gives you is doubled.

-when looking at you laying next to him he just couldnt help but think about how lucky he was to be able to go out with you, he hopes to do it more often and that it never ends

-once you guys arrived at the festival he kinda let you take the lead because he could see how excited you were. every now and then you would stop to look at what people were selling and he would buy them for you! he would also buy food that he thinks youd like and the two of you would share it the way a couple would (not in a weird way but the lovey dovey way they do) and the others would tease you.

-you know those cute scenes in anime where the guy would stop the girl and put a hair pin in her hair all romantically? yeah he did that with you. or he would do that with a shirt pin! and the hair pin/shirt pin would be matching with his outfit.

-when it was time for fireworks he stood behind you an gently grabbed your head towards the sky to see the fireworks. since he didnt want to stand for too long he lead you towards a bench where the two of you sat down together admiring the flashy fire in the sky with hands intertwined.

okay okay so first of all Leo would not leave your side for a minute. he is so sweet and attentive and gentle with you while your coming back from anesthesia like a motherfucking walking lime green flag. like this. if he's still in college at MIT or wherever he's collecting diplomas like pokemon he will not HESITATE to ditch all classes that day to take care of you with or without his school's permission. if you cry on anesthesia like I do he will be SO FUCKING TENDER with you. he gets every possible caring for someone hack from his mom and from the internet and every resource possible to make sure you're happy and pain free and comfy. jasmine tran's ace would be jigglypuff! however its not uncommon to see her walking around with her popplio outside its pokeball, the jigglypuff was a gift actually, alot of people say its like theyre made for eachother, for reasons probably not actually positive, joltik is there after fearless and uses it to prank others, tinyyyy...... her leafeon had only recently evolved

winn harper's ace would be alolan raichu! surfing is just water skateboarding, so raichu helps with some cool tricks on the playground, theyre also rlly close with their furfrou, who they constantly also dye their fur to match their hair, and also cuz i think theyre a dog person in general, one of the few kids in their school to have fully evolved pokemon since their parents are gym leaders, loves competitive battling!

dev dimmadome i like to imagine doesnt really own a pokemon of his own, they usually just breed and sell them off so he doesnt get to bond with them enough nor has he though about it, but during the battle of the big wand he gets them from foop, he and hazel have this grand battle (emolga probably does some thunder armor bullshit), the buneary refuses to evolve and admitibly doesnt like him, may or may not join hazels team instead and may or may not symbolise their relationship idk idk

Submissions Rules:

Fictional characters only, no real people. Characters played by real people are fine, but don't submit the actor please.

Only submit characters who canonically have heterochromia. Fan headcanons/designs are neat and all, but I want this to only be characters who actually have heterochromia in their canon designs.

No OCs please. I'm sure your characters are lovely, and I am giving them a little pat on the head but don't submit them.

All types of heterochormia count (central, sectoral/segmental, and complete).

Characters with temporary heterochromia are perfectly fine! By that I mean characters who have powers or an alternate form that changes their eyes, just so long as it is part of their canon designs. (examples: Kaneki Ken, Judai Yuki, Lelouch Lamperouge) If their eyes change color, but both eyes are the same color or their changed eyes are not multicolored, this does not count. (examples: Kurapika, Goku, shiny Pokemon)

Characters with prosthetic eyes that are heterochromatic are also fine to submit!

He's very competitive when it comes to anything with competition although he's very good at Pokemon battles, because to him winning a battle not only means better in skill and raising your Pokemon but also a bigger Bond with trainer and companion he is actually happy when he loses because it still means he has a lot to learn and grow which he is always happy to know more, and he gets to see a happy trainer and happy Pokemon celebrate their victory is there a greater reward than that? But for some reason video games he becomes a sore loser no yelling no Tantrums just silent anger stowing in his Petty thoughts he'll never act out.

He was lying on his living room floor with a blanket topped over him in a T-shirt and sweatpants when he was sick because, for some reason, the floor felt better than his own bed.

Hangs up memes around the office or sends his friends semi cursed images / memes for no reason with little too no explanation. And has a whole folder in his phone just for joltik/other bug pokemon image memes, just in case he needs to react to anything he can't put into words.

I still think he likes to play scary games but his favorite ones are the ones he gets to play with his friends and laugh at their deaths. Skyla and Emmet give each other Petty nicknames and fight with each other on the regular especially over text online and in games. They fight like siblings which is funny because image is actually really close with his brother and doesn't understand why a lot of people aren't packed with their siblings. Sometimes, your sibling's actions can get on your nerves, but their family are sometimes the only ones who can understand you.

He takes self degradation even if they're jokes very seriously.

If Emmet could he would be a full-time joltik breeder I mean don't get me wrong he probably has dozens of them but I mean those breeders that have cool morphs of like certain lizards, snake and insects. Because I refuse to believe in the world of Pokémon that they are no Pokemon that are the same species but with different patterns/ fur or scale color/ breeds etc. He tried to do it himself, but he was stopped by a certain someone

Emmet cannot have TikTok downloaded as much as he loves the app; he will spend hours and hours on it and flood his poor brother and Friends with 99+ notifications. One of the depot agent managers runs the official TikTok account, and before they post anything, both brothers have to check for inappropriate content.

Emmet is either very photogenic or takes very cursed blurry photos there is no between. They'll either be a photo that looks almost professionally done with perfect lighting with his loose tie and shirt half buttoned while another one will have the lighting making it look like his eyes are glowing while the entire photo is dark with his hand coming down on the camera with a caption that says "POV: you're a bug Pokemon"

ok svt pokemon au [version 2] for funsies. this is still league stuff bc i don't feel like figuring out their normal everyday teams/jobs rn <3

starting off with the gym leaders. in order: vernon -> jun -> joshua -> minghao -> wonwoo -> jeonghan -> mingyu -> seungkwan

vernon is a bug type gym leader. i put him as the first gym leader because he's kind of the least competitive of the group, and chose bug type for him because i think he'd see the potential that bugs have. yeah, some kid can come in and wipe his gym with a fire or flying type, but he's here to try and teach 'em something along the way. i could see him having a joltik and a paras on his team as two little guys, with beedrill serving as his ace pokemon. while not on his competitive team, i could also see him having a snom/frosmoth as well as a pokemon that he's buddies with. i think his gym would probably be relatively straight-forward, no huge gimmicks, just battle his trainers and face him and he'll congratulate you on a job well done.

jun has a water type gym and is probably the friendliest gym leader to new trainers. he tends to be a bit laid-back and more of the educational guy, especially when he battles kids. i think his ace would likely be a quagsire (friend-shaped lil guy) and the rest of his team would be composed of a psyduck and a lotad. i 100% also see jun being the kind of gym leader who gets very involved with his own community and gets well known because of this. tending to gardens, hosting cook-outs, etc. i honestly could see his gym being a restaurant, if i'm honest? you have to take out his trainers/staff and that's when he'll come out of the kitchen to 'cool off' with his water types. man who tells you its important to take breaks, probably.

joshua comes next as a flying type gym leader who loves his silly little birds so much. the kind of leader who spouts off poetry and really plays up this airy, gentlemanly character when he's on the clock. outside of it, he's just a mostly chill dude who goes off to get drinks with the other gym leaders and teases them. his team has a swellow and a swablu on it, while his ace is a vespiquen that he'll openly admit was achieved with the help of vernon (to find a female combee). he trusts her with his life btw and they're a terrifying duo. i think he'd have an open-air gym, maybe with some flowers to really sell home the cozy, casual vibe he's aiming for. the kind of place that you can bike through on an average day (and he does).

minghao is an ice type gym leader who also plays up a certain image when he's doing his job. while plenty of people have seen his warmer side, when he's in gym leader mode, he's colder and much more calculated--a very intelligent gym leader to go up against. his gym either involves some sort of skating puzzle or for trainers to cross ice flows, balancing to get across to him. his team has a froslass, lapras, and weavile, all leading up to his ace: alolan ninetails. like joshua and his vespiquen, minghao and his ninetails are a terrifying duo because of their close bond. i think he's the kind of trainer who 100% makes sure to train a lot with his team so that they're all highly coordinated. unfortunately is very aware that his gym has been a tough spot for some trainers to the point where they've quit, but a very vocal advocate for trainers to step back, examine their teams and strategies, and use their own frustration as a motivator to kick his ass.

for wonwoo, i ended up going the kind-of predictable route this time of giving him psychic (because ghost is going to someone else). unfortunately, i'm also not original, because i still think his gym being a library is so fitting for him. it'd be more of a modern library with nice big windows and a tech center, and probably doubles as such with a arena in the center for battles to be contained to. his ace is a gallade he's lovingly raised from an egg. he also has a meowstic, xatu, and a hattrem who would likely have been his ace if his gym was a little later in the league (giving him a hatterene). all of them are nicknamed after literary characters btw. highly intelligent, very good with strategy in terms of battling. absolutely records the battles he loses (and wins, but the loses are more important for this) and goes back over them with his team later to see how they can better prepare for future battles. not the kind of guy to be competitive in the 'i hate losing' sense, but in the 'i want to be the best at what i do' sense.

jeonghan comes shortly after with his team of ghosts that do help him pull pranks on his friends. very friendly and very jovial for a guy who's gym fully leans into a more gothic aesthetic. maybe even placed within an old castle to really ham it up. i could easily see jeonghan playing into a vampire-y role as well, just to have fun with his job. his team has a sableye, banette, and mimikyu, with gengar serving as his ace. they're his little pals and he loves them dearly. there's a lot of stories floating around out there, typically from cheol, about jeonghan's little team of pranksters that he has pulled together. they, with joshua and his team, are the worst to deal with because they can easily get the drop on you either by not being visible or by swooping in via flying types.

mingyu is very high up in the league because he's one of the more competitive people, so he likes a solid challenge. he's a steel type gym leader who i could see having some sort of factory as his gym, complete with some sort of conveyor belt puzzle for trainers to solve. his team has a mawile, a bisharp, and a togedemaru. people constantly question the presence of his bisharp, but they're just bros and probably one of the first pokemon mingyu ever trained up. his ace is a tinkaton because of course it is. a reckless, impulsive pokemon that likes doing whatever it wants? he enables her and lets her pick out whatever scrap metal she wants after battles--win or lose--as a reward for doing her best. his tinkaton is basically his child.

and while mingyu is highly competitive, i think seungkwan is the one person out of this group that can and does beat him on a regular basis enough to have earned that eighth gym leader slot. man who 100% monologues about how he's tougher than he seems and is proud of his place. his fighting type team are his babies and he is 100% also the kind of trainer who's ace, bewear, has been with him since the beginning of his own journey. he loves the rest of his team dearly, though: pawmot, lucario, medicham, and breloom. all are pretty formidable in their own ways, but watch out for the synergy he has with that bewear.

as for the league... the elite four can be challenged in any order.

seokmin is the fairy type elite four member, who's chamber leans more into a fairy tale aesthetic, complete with him being kind of a knight or princely figure. he is absolutely the person who congratulates you on making it this far first, and says he hopes your journey to become champion doesn't end here, because he's 100% not going to let you win without a good fight. he has a dedenne, gardevoir, florges, and a galarian rapidash on his team, with a togekiss being his ace. like a lot of the others on this list, seokmin raised his togekiss from an egg and is very close with the little guy as a result. he's outright admitted that it makes him sad when his togekiss faints, so he's usually the first party member he recovers before congratulating the trainer on defeating his team. he feeds his team snacks after a battle while taking care of them. he 100% has a poffin recipe that he swears by, too.

jihoon is the ground type member who is pretty widely known for being extremely reliable and someone who's own dedication often motivates others to do better. his chamber is surprisingly more laid-back and cozy, as it's more of a place for him to let go and enjoy battles than it is for him to do his job. he takes it seriously, don't get him wrong: but battling for him is something he cares deeply about, he won't be a pushover, but it's freeing when he and his team are on the same wavelength. his garchomp, his ace, is his longtime teammate and actually the parent to the garchomp that seungcheol has on his own team. he also has a gastrodon, excadrill, flygon, and nidoqueen to round out the rest of his team. they're protective of him in the same way he respects and cares for them: he wouldn't be here without them, and he's proud to be their trainer.

soonyoung is the electric type trainer who's chamber is over the top with fireworks and a sick ass light show that he easily turns off for trainers who need that change. it'll still have fancy lighting, but nothing that can harm anyone. he's the guy who hypes you up and says he's gonna give this battle everything he's got, but also congratulates you if you've already faced jihoon (or warns you that jihoon's one of the strongest trainers he knows if you haven't). soonyoung's ace is a luxray, the closest thing i can get to a tiger being an electric lion. he also has a zebstrika, emolga, boltund, and ampharos to round out the rest of his electric type team. guy who is so, so intense in battle but if you see him outside of his job he's usually one of the most chill people. probably plays fetch with his boltund a lot.

seungcheol is probably one of the scariest dragon type trainers in the business. he's carefully raised his entire team from eggs ever since he was a kid, and that effort shows. to help balance the e4 out a bit, he tends to play a more serious role like jihoon does. if he's the last trainer you face, he'll congratulate you highly on performing so well this far and that he's hopefully looking forward to seeing you go on to face the champion. if he's the first, he definitely admires your courage to face him ahead of the others, since he knows about his reputation. his ace is his tyrantrum, restored from a fossil forever ago and his closest pal. but he trusts the rest of his team just as intensely: duraludon, dragonite, garchomp, and kingdra. yes, his garchomp exists to match jihoon's. if he could have matched a pokemon to soonyoung's and seokmin's teams, he would have. also another guy who goes back over battle footage with his team in order to better prepare for future battles.

and then finally, there's the champion: the future of kpop himself, lee chan. the room you enter is going to be the most elaborate stage set-up in the fucking world. he has fought long and hard to get to this place, he is going to ham it up and have his own fucking overhyped monologue that seungkwan calls overdramatic every single time he has to hear it. he doesn't stick to a single type, instead having a variety of pokemon. his ace is his tyranitar, and the rest of his team is as follows: metagross, blaziken, rosesrade, milotic, and blissey. like cheol, he's trained his entire team for an incredibly long time to have earned the title of pledis champion. i can see him with sharp looking sunglasses and a jacket thrown over his shoulders that you're left wondering how it stays on. if you beat him, literally everyone shows up to clown on him /j. nah but fr, he straight up tells you not to get too comfortable: he'll rise up to challenge you for the title again soon, but he congratulates you on a battle well fought.

and then everyone clowns on him once you're out of the room to be added to the record because they saw that speech. loser lmao!!!!! big dork!!!! what a dramatic NERD!!!! and he probably laughs it off because where else is he going to just be able to ham it up and be a big dramatic goofball

Bonnie bit down a sigh as she watched her brother disappear once more in his room, the door shutting with a soft click. It’s been nearly two months since Ash left for Alola, and ever since there seemed to be a permanent cloud hung over Clemont’s shoulders.

Sure, Ash wrote to them anytime he could, and those letters always seemed to brighten him up, but it didn’t seem like the joy lasted that long. As quickly as it came, her brother was back to quietly moping; putting on a brave face when needed but ever stuck in his head.

“Brrr?” Dedenne bumped Bonnie’s hand, snuggling close as the girl carefully picked them up.

“Yeah, I think you’re right. I’m worried for Clem.” She hummed softly, rocking on her heels. “It’s not good for him to stay in all the time. He’ll just keep working on his inventions until he drops.”

More thoughts passed, when suddenly she had an idea.

“I know what to do.”

“B-Bonnie?” Clemont blinked when he found her in front of his door a week later- spread out like a starfish against the cool wood. “What are you doing?”

“No buts! You’re coming- right now!” She declared, marching him to the door with such determination he was forced to follow along. “We’ve got the whole day planned out, isn’t that right, Dedenne?”

“Chew!” The mouse squeaked in glee, bouncing beside them as they left their humble home.

“Oh dear..” Clemont sighed, accepting his fate as the warm sunshine touched his cheeks. When his sister wanted something, it was best to go with it.

Bonnie skipped ahead, her hand in her his as they passed by crowds and Pokemon alike. Be ready, Clem- you might have some stiff competition when she arrives!” Bonnie grinned over her shoulder as they watched her add play for the hundreds of faces watching alongside them. “She’s pretty. Hey- you should totally ask her out when she gets here! I could have a famous streamer as my sister!”

“B-Bonnie! That’s not- whoa!” Clemont went to argue, but Bonnie had pulled him further until they stopped before a familiar place.

“Here we are!” She cried, arms high and smiling big as she did a twirl before the steps. “The Luminous museum! Home of all kinds of funny machines!”

Clemont gaped, eyes wide as he stared at the building. “Wha…Bonnie, are you sure about this?”

“Why would I not be?” She tilted her head curiously, confused. “Do you not want to be here? I already got tickets.”

“What- no, no not at all! I’m just- oh, nevermind. Come on!” Like a little kid in a candy store, Clemont practically sprinted to the doors, just barely grabbing the ticket Bonnie gave him. Behind him, he could hear her giggling.

“Bonnie look! This is amazing!” Clemont called out to her, eyes sparkling like gems as he pointed at some rather unique contraption. Bonnie couldn’t make heads or tails of it. Even her brother’s explanation- well, ramblings- didn’t help her understand its purpose.

Smiling and nodding, she let herself look around, taking in the sights around her when-

“Whoa!” She gasped, eyes big as she pointed. “Look at THAT!”

“That” turned out to be a massive Dedenne plush- the ones that cost a pretty penny in the toy stores around Luminous. It was perched with a number of other plushes and prizes as two men gathered a crowd.

“Come one, come all! Guess how many Magnemites are behind the screen and win a prize!” The man in white called out, charming the audience with a dazzling smile.

“Play as many times as you wish; but don’t get too cocky. The number changes after every win! Let’s see who’ll win the first game!” The man in black added, winking and making the crowd giggle. Bonnie felt her heart race with excitement- a guessing game!

“Wow, that must be hard to do.” She mused, finding herself joining the crowd. Next to her, Clemont was quiet with calculation, eyes flickering and mouth moving in silent numbers. “I bet it’s gonna take all morning to guess-”

“You there- the boy in the jumper! What is your guess?” The man in white called out, surprising Bonnie. She looked up at her brother as he raised his hand.

“27 Magnemites.” He said confidently. People blinked, looking towards the pair.

The screen fell back, revealing…

“That’s correct!” The man in white announced, the buzzing pokemon floating about the room and dazzling the crowd. “Come forward, sir and claim your prize!”

“Can my sister pick? I want her to have it.” He asked, gently bringing Bonnie forward. She looked back at him with wide eyes, finding him gently smiling at her.

“Are you sure?” She asked softly, brows furrowing when he nodded. After a moment looking over the prizes, she nodded.

“Okay- I know what I want.”

“Bonnie..you really didn’t have to.” Clemont looked down at the Heliolisk plush in his arms. He didn’t see it when he got there, but all but gaped when she returned with it. “You could have got your Dedenne. That’s what you wanted, right?”

“I liked Heliolisk more.” She shrugged causally, skipping along. “You always use it when you battle- he’s your favorite, right?”

“Well- one of them, yeah..” He couldn’t deny the joy he felt when she gave him the plush. It was so soft and cuddly, the perfect shape and stitching too.

Only… “Hey Bonnie-”

“OH!” She squealed suddenly, pointing at a stand nearby. “Crepes!”

His stomach growled involuntarily, making him blush. Bonnie giggled as she ran over before he could stop her.

Clemont hummed in thought as he watched her order them, his thoughts running wild.

“Mmm! I love crepes! This has been such a great day!” She smiled around her snack, cheeks pink and smile big as the flavors melted on her tongue. “What do you want to do next, Clem?”

“Bonnie..” Clemont’s voice made her pause, halfway through with her bite. “What’s really going on?”

Chewing slowly, she looked out at the people passing by, thinking of her answer. “Nothing really- I just really wanted to spend the day with you, that’s all.”

“I don’t think it’s just that. You took me to the Luminous museum- where we spent the majority of the morning in the inventions section- then when we won that game, you picked out my favorite Pokemon instead of yours. Then you went ahead and bought us crepes even though I know you love ice cream and I could have paid.” He narrowed his eyes suspiciously. “So what’s actually going on?”

Caught. Red handed- no passing go. Bonnie ducked her head in defeat. “Okay, you caught me. I wanted to cheer you up.”

“...What?” He blinked, surprised. Bonnie nodded.

“You’ve been so sad since Ash left; don’t tell me you haven’t- I know you.” He shut his mouth before any denial could escape. “I didn’t like seeing you like that, so I had this idea that if I took you to all your favorite places today, you’d be less sad.” She dared a peek, hiding some behind her crepe. “Did…did it work?”

Clemon gaped at her, then he laughed. “Boohonnie! Oh my- come here.” He reached out, pulling his sister close and hugging her gently. “Bonnie, you’re too sweet. I love you so much.”

“Heh, I love you too, big bro.” She grinned, hugging him back and relaxing in his arms. “Seems like you’re finally returning to normal, huh?”

“I do feel better. Thank you- really. I hadn’t realized I looked so sad; sorry for worrying you.” He patted her head gently as he let her go, watching her finish off her crepe. “I’ll be okay- we both will. I know Ash isn’t here right now, but he’s always willing to visit. Maybe we’ll see him again some time, yeah?”

“Hehe, for sure!” She tapped her last bite of crepe with his, finishing it with a smile. With their snack finished, Clemont got up, dusting off his hands and offering one to her.

“Come on- let’s go back to the museum.”

“You're gonna look at all those inventions again, huh?”

“Nope- there’s a Dedenne plush there I want to win. The guy said we can play as many times as we want, right?” He smiled at her booming grin, laughing when she practically dragged him there.

Bonnie was asleep, her new plush cuddled against her chest and her actual pokemon resting on top. Clemont smiled at her as he quietly shut her door, returning to his own room. Their day was a great one- more sight seeing around town followed by food stands and games; his feet hurt at some point but his heart was happy.

As he closed his door, his phone pinged, a familiar name across the notification.

Wanna V.Chat?

Laughing, he texted back his response before setting up at his computer, smiling as the ocean greeted his eyes.

“Aloha from Alola!” Ash cheered as he came into view, dressed in shorts and one of the local flower shirts. He was already radiating tourist energy. “Clem! I was wondering when I was gonna hear from you today!”

“Heh, sorry- I got busy.” He leaned in his hands as he took in Ash’s face. He had only been there for a short time, but his skin was bronzed and his smile was all the more radiant. It was a comforting sight to hold. “I meant to call you earlier, but Bonnie decided we were having a day together.

“Aww! That sounds so fun!’ Ash grinned as he sat down on the sand, adjusting his camera accordingly. “No worries- I was getting over the jetlag anyway. I don’t think I would have been as talkative then vs now.” That and the time zone difference meant it was easier to call at this hour. While Clemont’s sun was setting, Ash’s was just coming up. “You look happy.”

“Oh-” The blonde suddenly felt guilty. “Sorry-”

“Don’t apologize. I’m glad you’re happy.” The brunette smiled at him- genuine and warm like the sun. It never failed to make him blush. “Seeing you doing so good makes me happy; you tend to overwork yourself a lot. Try not to push it.”

“Are you and Bonnie secretly coordinating?” He asked with a raised brow, making Ash laugh. Oh what a bright sound. “I really should tell her I’ve been calling you. She was worried about me today- she’s gonna be angry when she finds out we’re in touch.”

“Hehe, maybe.” Ash laughed again, somewhat sheepish. “Hey- why don’t we make it a monthly thing? The three of us, Serena- we can all get on call together and catch up? I think it would be nice.”

“Yeah- that sounds good. Do you want me to share this number?”

“Nah. We can make a new one.” Ash decided, much to Clemont’s surprise. “I like this one being just us, you know? Call me what you want but…I kinda only wanna see your face right now.”

Clemont blushed more, and even Ash’s cheeks were red. If they were in person, the blonde could picture him gently brushing back his bangs, leaning in to-

“Hey uh- I’ve actually been meaning to ask you something.” Ash jumped in when the silence stretched, coughing some. He was clearly thinking the same thing. “This summer the place I’m staying at opens up to visitors. You can rent it out and have people stay for a month or so.” Ash fiddled with his hands, cheeks on fire as he shyly smiled at the camera. “Do you..want to come by? I mean to visit I mean.”

Clemont stared, taking in the new information with wide eyes. Ash quickly scrambled.

“I mean- if you want to! We can bring Bonnie and Serena- or just us, wait stop that Ketchum- but yeah! I can get the arrangements made; I’ve done some favors here and can get you a good deal on the rooms- why are you laughing?” Ash blinked as Clemont giggled helplessly, hands over his mouth and cheeks pink.

“I’m just- I’m just so happy right now.” He smiled, looking up at Ash’s eyes in the camera. “Yes. I’d love to see you this summer. If you’d have me.”

Ash brightened, nodding. “Of course I will! It’s a date.”

So it was. Clemont couldn’t wait for Summer.

Heiji Hattori would consider himself a good pokemon trainer. Sure, he wasn’t exactly famous for it or anything, but his pokemon all loved him, and were happy with him, and that’s what really matters, right? He was content with that.

Heiji Hattori would also consider himself a good detective. Due to his strange luck, he ran into quite a few more cases than the average person, and they all got solved thanks to him. His inexplicable ability to speak to the pokemon involved helped a lot, he’d admit. But… he wasn’t satisfied. No matter how well he did, no matter how many cases he solved, no matter how many lives he ended up saving, there was always a name that came before his.

Shinichi Kudo.

Kudo was some hotshot teen detective from Saffron- he had famous parents and a fancy foreign partner pokemon, and the media just loved him so much. Whenever Heiji introduced himself as a teen detective, he was compared to Kudo. If he solved a case, it was compared to Kudo. If he were to dare to be proud of his accomplishments at home, his own father would say that he still wasn’t as good as Kudo.

Kudo Kudo Kudo Kudo- Heiji was sick of it- sick of that name. He swore to himself that one day he’d overcome that name- grow stronger than it, and the person it belonged to. His pokemon supported him, even if his father had scoffed and turned away whenever he mentioned his ambition.

Then of course, Kudo had turned up dead.

This monolith that had cast such a shadow over Heiji’s life for over a year now was just gone, crumbled away like it had never been there… and yet- Heiji couldn’t accept it. Sure, people had mostly stopped comparing them- after all, a living detective was better than a dead one any day, but…

Heiji had been counting on overcoming him. Knowing that his skills were sharper, and that his old man was dead wrong. But now.. Now he’d never get that chance. He was finally on top- in the worst way he could imagine.

“I just don’t get it- if he was so good then why did he die so easily?” Heiji mumbled into his pillow. He was supposed to be sleeping- but sleep had been evading him for weeks now.

“I don’t know, if you’re so good then why are you still whining about this?” His partner growled from her place leaning against the door. Lucie- a Lucario he’d raised from an egg to now, was probably his closest confidant- with Kazuha as a close second. Usually, she was fairly supportive of him, but he supposed he had been a little fixated on this for.. Oh wow, had it already been two months since Kudo had died?

“But, I mean he was-”

“So good, so talented, the detective to whom all other teen detectives are compared, yeah- I know. I’ve heard the spiel about twenty times already- you should get some new material soon or else I’ll be able to recite the whole thing word for word,” Lucie rumbled, rolling her eyes.

“...Sorry ‘bout that,” He pushed himself into a sitting position, sighing as he rubbed the circles under his eyes. Lucie sighed and pushed off the door, walking over to stand in front of him. She tended to be competitive about the dumbest things-  a bit like her trainer, and so she refused to go to sleep until he’d already drifted off- meaning that now they were both sleep deprived.

“You’re not going to stop harping about it, are you?” She grumbled fondly.

“Probably not,” He sighed, running a hand through his hair.

“Well then, you might as well be productive about it- have there been any updates in the case?” Lucie tossed him his phone, and he blinked in the sudden light from the screen.

“Uhhh- nope. Just the same old stuff,” Heiji sighed, scrolling through article after article- obituary after obituary…

“Run through it again- you might notice something new,” Lucie barked, like it was an order. Heiji took it as one, and clicked into his very detailed note page on the subject.

“Victim Shinichi Kudo, age sixteen was found behind the ferris wheel operations building at Tropical Land at 9:47 PM by an officer doing a routine sweep after another crime was committed in the same park earlier that day. He was last seen alive by longtime friend Ran Mouri at around 8:15 PM, only a few hundred meters from where the body was found,” Heiji read aloud, his mind flipping through facts and timelines faster than he could verbally relay. Lucie nodded, crossing her paws.

“And? Was the witness useful for anything else?” She said, sending his mind spinning in a different direction.

“Her testimony states that Kudo had a pokeball on him when he was last seen- but the body was found without any pokemon present- inside pokeballs or otherwise, suggesting that the murderers stole it for whatever reason,” Kudo’s pokemon was the second casualty in this case- most overlooked it in favor of its trainer, but Heiji felt bad for it all the same.

“And the body?”

“One injury- a blunt force trauma wound to the head, but the autopsy determined that it wasn’t the cause of death. Even now, a cause of death has yet to be determined, since it appears as if his heart just stopped for no reason. Pokemon interference has also been ruled out- no psychic, ghost, or dark type energy residue was found on the body,”

“It is a puzzling case, to be sure,” Lucie growled, running a hand over her ears in a mirror gesture to her trainer messing up his hair.

“Exactly one witness with nothing to say, no evidence… pretty much a load ‘a nothing,” Heiji growled a little himself as he scrolled and scrolled and scrolled some more- there really was just… nothing here.

It was one thing for Kudo to just die, but it was another for him to leave behind so little to solve his case. Heiji would be beyond ticked if he ended up as one of the most famous cold cases of the century- but right now, that’s where this all was headed.

“Incompetent police…” Lucie rumbled, in a way that almost sounded like a purr. “Nothing for it- suppose you’ll just have to investigate by yourself?” She grinned at him, her fangs glinting in the moonlight.

Heiji turned the idea over in his head- he supposed that maybe. Just maybe, solving Kudo’s murder would make him feel better about the whole thing? The thought of it sent a shiver up his spine. He hadn’t liked the guy. He’d never met him- but he didn’t deserve to rot without justice, and if Heiji could get it for him, and prove something to himself in the process… Well, that was his business.

It was thoughts like that that finally let him sleep.
