Top albums of 2022

@allstarbysmashmouth ​ tagged me to share my top albums I listened to for the first time in 2022 which made me realise I didn’t listen to many albums. Below the cut are my top five.

#5: Sahar by Tamino

Unfortunately, I don’t like about half the album. However, the half that I like is incredible and an improvement over Amir, which I didn’t think possible.

#4: MASSEDUCTION by St. Vincent

Made me wish I’d started listening to St. Vincent earlier.

#3: Electra Heart (Platinum Blonde Edition) by Marina and the Diamonds

Might be cheating to include this since it is a re-release of an album that I did listen to before, but this did something to my brain and started a little Marina phase, so I had to include it.

#2: The Car by Arctic Monkeys

Fuck dem haters. The perfect continuation of/prequel to Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino, which is one of the best albums of all time.

My autistic!Darcy headcanon is doubly enjoyable for me as an autistic person because ... well, people talk about the wish-fulfillment aspect of Elizabeth/Darcy, and they're not wrong. But personally, while it's nice that Elizabeth acquires a rich, principled, attractive, and devoted husband who can take care of her family's problems while taking her away from most of them, you know what's also nice?

Elizabeth did all she could to shield him [Darcy] from the frequent notice of either, and was ever anxious to keep him to herself, and to those of her family with whom he might converse without mortification.

For someone who’s not the biggest wolfstar fan I’m arguably irrationally in love with Bite and Prejudice by myheadsgonenumb! But there’s nothing irrational about something this beautiful! I love it soooooo much!

The mark of a good fic is that you either can’t put it down and rush through it or that you know you need to pace yourself because every word is a treat! This is the latter type. As someone who’s a big fan of P&P and HP it’s just a masterpiece (!!!!) and reading a chapter or two is always going to be a highlight of a day!

I’ve always known Sirius would be Darcy and James would be Bingley (it’s the sort of thing my poor husband and I discuss), but Trelawney as Mary Bennet(!), Peter as Mr Hurst, Lockhart as Mr Wickham and Snape as Mr Colins are among the many fun features of this story 🥰🙌

Edit: I also want to make clear it is that good because it is wolfstar, not despite it (in case my note made it seem otherwise)! Remus and Sirius are absolutely adorable creatures <3

Yes, they do. As dearest Lenore is an elf she’ll have a long lifespan, though not an immortal one (900-2000 years depending on the dnd edition you go by). So during that time I imagine they have up to six children.

D’arcy is not their first child. But he is their only living child at this point.

A few decades before Darcy was born they had their first child, a daughter named Elara who unfortunately inherited her mother’s bloody heritage. To cut a long story short her violent nature hit when she was quite young. She was only about 10/11 years old when it ended up being the death of her, quite literally. Lenore tries to be compassionate and hope that patience and nurture (something she didn’t receive growing up) will curb Elara’s own dark urges. But her mother’s love cannot compete with the will of a death god.

In an awful turn of events Elara turns on her own mother, Lenore is too deep in denial to see the attack coming but Astarion isn’t. And Elara’s violent life is cut short by her father.

They don’t have much luck with daughters as their second daughter (born after Darcy) also meets a very grizzly fate when she’s barely a few months old — but there’s a lot of context to that that needs to be understood first! The context being Lenore’s own backstory. Though she is a redeemed durge her story doesn’t follow the exact same series of events from in the game.

But fear not! I am currently working on (quite a meaty) comic in which she retells the parts of her childhood/life pre-tadpole that she remembers to her party — Gale, Shadowheart, and Astarion.

I do!! My husband also enjoys vintage clothes so I can give you some stores he likes If you are looking for a sort of Edwardian inspired style too. Darcy clothing!! He owns a couple of three piece suits from them as well as collars and accessories and they are excellent, I recommend! There is also Cathcart Heritage, Blackbird, Vecona Vintage oh and American Duchess also offers men's shoes, He also does a lot of thrifting, especially for blazers, coats, jackets and ties! for gloves, hats and shoes he gets them at regular local leather stores.

Wip Excerpt I He run, hoping to stop his mother to go after HIM. The marriage was broken, it was so clear after today's fight. But Nozel knew his mother hoped for a real happy family still. He couldn't blame her for that, but they could be a happy family without HIM.

Nozel was out of breath when he finally reached the road. Why was the villa of his family on a hill again? Who cared about that, he needed to catch his mother!

Acier was there, on the road. The green light just turned red.

Then, there was the car.

Then a panic.

His mother fell.

Then it was blurry. And Nozel screamed, but no one heard him. There was no sound coming out of his mouth...

Well, that escalated... I swear, Acier won't be dead in my Modern AU! But it is still a cruel alternative 😭

Wip Excerpt II Vanessa sighed dramatically as she fell back on her bed, holding her two current favorite books in front of her as if they were some most important evidence during a trial.

"I can't help it, Dotty! Jane Austen and N. A. Steel have put the level of being a wonderful man onto such a high level that I automatically have too much expectations for any potential boyfriend! But the only thing I get at best are jerks, not Darcys, colonel Brandons or Rosecliffs!"

Dorothy giggled, which could either mean that she was amused or kinda frustrated. "You do have a romantic soul, Nessa."

"Yeah, maybe that's the reason why I can't get a proper boyfriend. But I don't want to date a macho anymore! Why are gentlemen so out of fashion today? Maybe I was born in the wrong time period."

"Aren't you a bit overdramatic?"

"Maybe? I don't know. I knew I shouldn't have started to drink less wine."

It didn't sound like an easygoing joke and Vanessa knew that this wasn't normal for her.
