I’ve only recently dipped my toes in the jegulus ship but OH GOD am I not ready for the angst that comes with it
Saying this as someone that is still in pieces after reading ATYD in 2022 and hasn’t been able to read canon-compliant or war stories since…

The Winner Takes It All
poly!Marauders x reader (gender not specified)
CW: slight light angst (between reader x other students), confusion on relationship status, fluff
You didn’t really know what you had done to win the affections of the infamous Marauder boys – namely Remus, Sirius, and James – but you weren’t going to question it too deeply; you quite enjoyed their company.
Everyone knew the three boys were together: Sirius and James were never known for their subtlety, and Remus was the reluctant (but quite pleased) victim of their near constant PDA.
Somehow, you too had gotten swept up in their affections.
It wasn’t official – in the sense that you and the boys had never discussed what their flirting, pet names, cuddles, or forehead kisses meant in the grand scheme of things – but no one was ignorant to the chemistry between the four of you. The boys were so unbelievably sweet with you, and their attention felt like nothing short of worship.
James’ excessive excitement when you walked into a room left you feeling like you meant something; an overwhelming sense of belonging within his space. Sirius’ devilish flirting, compliments, and obvious ogling made you feel more beautiful than you ever thought possible. And Remus’ small gestures – whether carrying your books for you, ensuring you’ve eaten and drank enough water, and his special nicknames he seemed to save just for you - left you melted into a puddle of fondness.
And that wasn’t always taken very well by others.
Namely, Emmeline Vance.
The boys had been known to be quite…open…in their sexual encounters in the past and have, on occasion, included a fourth party in their dorm room activities. This quickly stopped when some parties felt this meant they were included in their dynamic.
Emmeline was one of them, and it appeared she wasn’t taking the news of them seemingly working to include an official fourth to their relationship very well.
This is one of the reasons you hadn’t brought up exactly what you meant to them; you were not interested in simply being the boys’ next bedmate, and a part of you was afraid that bringing things up would expose the fact that this was indeed their hope.
The other part of you knew that the boys weren’t the kind to string someone along, and that they’d have to be playing an awfully long game if that was truly their angle. But the possibility squeezed at your heart nonetheless.
Emmeline had taken to making snooty comments to you when the boys weren’t around. Lily, Marlene, Peter, and Dorcas seemed particularly bothered by it, but you did your best to ignore her.
But there was a part of you that wanted to scream at her a little bit…you weren’t even technically in a relationship with them! You’d never slept with them, you’d never even properly kissed any of them, and you certainly hadn’t made any moves to make whatever this was ‘official’.
Another part of you didn’t even want to entertain the situation. You had far more important things to concern yourself with: You were studying for your NEWTS, considering whether you wanted to head right into the workforce or explore further education, and where the hell you were going to live after graduation.
Unfortunately, Emmeline wasn’t the only one to pick up on your new-found closeness with the Marauders.
“Well, well, well…look what the lions dragged in.” Mulciber sneered from behind you as you made your way up the path from Hogsmeade. You rolled your eyes and kept your head forward; you’d been given permission from the headmaster to run to the village to purchase more potions ingredients, but apparently, so had the Slytherins.
“What? Good enough for those Gryffindor’s but not us? Where’re you running too?” Avery continued with a malicious grin when you picked up your pace.
Thankfully, you could see the Hogwarts grounds were up ahead, and Lily was there at the gates waiting for you.
“Sod off.” You threw over your shoulder, feeling slightly bolder in the presence of your friend.
You smiled warmly at the redhead as she threw her arm over your shoulder, sparing the Slytherin gits behind you a withering glare as you carried on towards the castle.
“What’s their problem now, hm?” She asked you, still glaring at the boys.
You rolled your eyes. “Oh, who knows. Not happy with anyone associated with the Marauders.”
Lily snorted inelegantly. “I don’t even think they’ve bothered pranking the Slytherin’s lately.”
“Nope.” You agreed with a pop of the P. “Everyone’s got bigger problems right now.”
Lily laughed but it turned into a groan. “Yeah, speaking of: incoming.”
You followed her gaze to see Emmeline making her way towards the two of you.
“Hello Lily!” She said cheerily before her face turned stony as the considered you, “Y/N.”
You tried to refrain (somewhat unsuccessfully) from rolling your eyes as you said hello to the girl.
“Have you seen the boys around?” She asked feigning innocence, but you both knew exactly who she was on about.
Lily played dumb, though you knew that she knew very well who Emmeline was looking for. “Which boys, Vance? That covers just about half of the population at Hogwarts.” She asked coolly.
“Remmy, Siri, and Jamie. Obviously. I’m going to ask them to Hogsmeade this weekend.” She shared with a sense of finality. You did roll your eyes at this, and Lily scoffed.
“Well, my first place to look for them would be with Y/N, and seeing as they’re not here, I couldn’t tell you.” Lily spat.
Emmeline narrowed her eyes and looked between the two of you before she levelled a glare at you.
“This isn’t over. I’ll win them back.” She said plainly, and something about her tone caused you to snap.
The Slytherin’s, Emmeline, the stress of not knowing – it was all too much, and you were done.
“You know what, Emmeline?” You said in a calm tone as you looked to the sky. “You can have them.”
Lily whipped her head to look at you bewilderedly at the same time Emmeline cocked her head at you.
“I beg your pardon?” She asked as you returned your eyes to her.
“If you think you can ‘win’ them, you can have them. I don’t want something that can so easily be taken from me, anyway. But you’re competing in a game that I’m not even playing, so either take them or leave me alone because I’ve got bigger fucking problems than your stupid school-girl crush.” You were out of breath by the time you finished; your face was hot, and you were sure it was likely the colour of Lily’s hair, but you willed yourself not to cry as you stormed toward the castle.
Damn being an angry crier.
You were just so tired – this wasn’t a game to you; these were your friends, perhaps more (you certainly hoped more), and it was also your feelings. But what you said was true – nothing that can be taken from you is worth keeping, not even them.
Lily quickly caught up to you but knew better than to say anything now, giving you the chance to breathe and calm down. You both made your way to Gryffindor tower where you threw yourself haphazardly into one of the plush couches near the fireplace.
“Fuck.” You groaned as you rubbed your hand down your face.
“You okay, hun?” Lily asked as she pet your head commiseratively.
You groaned again as you let your hand fall from your head and hang dramatically off the side of the couch. “Yeah, just tired. Of everything.”
Lily hummed in sympathy. “Why don’t you relax up here? I can bring you something from the Great Hall for supper.”
You looked at your friend like she hung the moon. “You’d do that for me?”
She chuckled and pinched your cheek, “‘Course. Anything for you, gorgeous.” She winked, trying on her best Sirius Black voice to mimic what the boy has said to you many-a-times before.
They really did treasure you, didn’t they?
You sort of regretted your outburst now – you knew the boys weren’t a prize in some juvenile contest; that’s what you’d been trying to point out – but you worried that’s not the way it sounded. What would they do once they heard? And you knew they would – hear about it, that is. Would their feelings be hurt? Would they understand? Would they feel embarrassed to be spoken about in such a manner?
You didn’t have much time to think about it after Lily left, because before you knew it, said boys were crawling through the portrait hole.
“Angel!” James shouted at you as he found your form curled up against the arm of the couch. He made for you instantly, vaulting himself over the back of the couch sat opposite of you like some kind of living room gymnast and launching himself onto your couch, nearly right on top of you.
“Hi Jamie.” You said shyly as his arms wrapped around your middle and he dug his face into the crook of your neck.
“Missed you.” He said, though the sound was muffled from the new home he seemed to have made in your being.
“Lily said we’d find ya here.” Sirius said as he sat on the coffee table in front of you. You grimaced in response.
“How was your trip to Hogsmeade?” Remus redirected at your obvious discomfort, taking a place beside Sirius.
“Oh, it was alright. I found what I needed.” You answered quietly, playing with the nailbeds of your fingers. Sirius quickly gave you one of his hands to play with instead.
“We heard you gave Vance a verbal lashing.” He said as you fiddled with one of the many rings adorning his long fingers. You groaned and let your head fall back onto the couch.
“Sirius.” Remus quietly (though lovingly) chided. “Do you wanna talk about it, dove?”
And there he goes with the nicknames, and James’ cuddling and Sirius’ piercing gaze and what the hell were you even doing here?
“No.” You answered. “I don’t know.” You amended quickly.
“I hope she didn’t upset you too terribly.” James offered quietly as he moved his chin to rest on your shoulder so he could look at you. You were suddenly self-conscious of how the side of your head looked.
“No. I may have been a little out of line.” You acquiesced. Sirius scoffed dramatically.
“Please, you’ve never been unreasonable a day in your life. You should try it once in a while.”
You chuckled at the dark-haired boy. “If anyone can drive me to it, it’ll be you boys.” You tried to joke, but it came out somberly.
“I’m sorry if being with us makes things a little tricky for you, with other students.” Remus apologized.
You snorted. “I’m not sure why being friends with you guys should be such an issue for other people.”
“Friends?” James asked as he sat up a little straighter. You cocked your eyebrow as you turned to look at him.
“Well, I don’t know…We’ve never really discussed anything, I didn’t want to assume…” You trailed off as you started picking at your nailbeds again. This time, Sirius moved to his knees in front of you and took both of your hands in each of his.
“Assume. Assume it all; all of it, everything. We’re yours.” He said emphatically, punctuating each sentiment with a squeeze of your joined hands.
“If you’ll have us…” Remus corrected, and you felt something swell behind your eyes at the faint blush that appeared on his cheeks.
James seemed just as moved by Remus’ bashfulness as he leaned forward to caress the boy’s cheek. “We know we’d love to have you.” James finished for him.
You sniffled and offered them a tight smile. “I’d like that.”
Sirius deflated instantly and let out a relieved sigh. “Oh, thank gods. I don’t know what I would’ve done if you said no.”
“Die, probably.” James said seriously, surprising a laugh out of you.
“We never wanted you to feel insecure in your place with us, dovey. We’re sorry we didn’t make it clearer how much you mean to us.” Remus continued.
“It’s not that. You make me feel very…” but you trailed off timidly.
“Very…” Sirius continued with a devilish grin. You tried to hide behind your hands but he held-fast. “Don’t get shy on us now, gorgeous. How do we make you feel?”
“Cherished.” You whispered, and you watched as the mirth left his face, leaving behind only fondness.
“Oh, thank merlin.” James breathed. “I thought I’d have to up my flirting; and I don’t know if you guys know this, but I already live at 100% love always.”
“We know.” You, Sirius, and Remus answered in unison.
“Okay, Jamie. Scoot.” Sirius said as he stood. He hardly waited for James to make room before he’d picked you up and flipped you two, so he was now sitting in your spot, and you were in his lap. “My turn.” He muttered as he put his face in the crook of your neck like James had before. James didn’t seem to mind the intrusion much; his arm thrown across Sirius’ shoulders and fingers rubbing at the baby hairs on your neck.
“Y/N?” Remus asked, and your toes curled in anxiety at how serious he looked.
“Yes?”
“May I kiss you?” He asked, keeping his honey gaze locked on yours.
You felt a grin overtake your face as you nodded emphatically. His smile matched yours as he leaned forward resting his hand on your knee and pressed his lips gently to yours. You felt so incredibly complete – Sirius’ arms wrapped securely around you, James gently massaging your neck and shoulders, and Remus’ lips on yours.
Both you and Remus seemed reluctant to separate, but you did. He pressed one last kiss to your lips before he leaned back into his seat on the coffee table.
“Does this mean we get to do that all of the time now?!” James asked excitedly, causing the three of you to chuckle. You didn’t much mind the sound of that.
“There was no competition.” Sirius said quietly from his place in your neck. You turned your head which forced him from your neck as you looked at him inquisitively.
“There was never any competition. Between you and Emmeline.” He clarified, silver irises seeming to bore into your soul. “Between you and anyone.”
You felt heat rush to your cheeks and ducked your head.
“And even if there was,” James continued, “you’d have won by a landslide.”

𝐇𝐨𝐭 — 𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐮𝐩𝐢𝐧
day three of my christmas drabbles advent calendar
summary — you bring remus home to visit your family for the holidays. he grows to love spending christmas in summer.
warnings/tags — fem!afab!reader, she/her pronouns, reader goes swimming, reader has hair long enough to be tied back
note!! — this is a totally self-indulgent fic. and for all my aussie/kiwi marauders fans!!
“This is weird,” Remus murmurs, handing you a tray of prawns. Along with the water dish.
“They’re gross, I know,” you giggle. “My dad loves them.”
Remus shifts in his seat, “No, not that,” he’s smiling, “It’s hot. It’s Christmas. It’s Christmas and I’m in a t-shirt.”
"You can take it off if you want," you giggle over the top of your bottle, sitting back in your chair.
"I will not," he gasps.
You love this look on him. He's been here for a week and he's all sunkissed and glowy. If you weren't spending the holidays at your parent's house, you'd have already jumped his bones.
"You'll go swimming with me, though?"
The backyard is full of your family members. Cousins running around with sticky, red iceblocks in their hands - your aunty's chasing them in turn, with wet paper towels. They're loud. Really loud and they really love Remus.
You're not surprised, he's perfect. You think they might love him more than you do. Impossible, obviously. But your dad had sat down with him in the lounge room and seemed genuinely interested in whatever Remus was telling him about his work. Your father has never read a book in his life, but for your boyfriend, he'll listen to him ramble about writing processes and workshops. In turn, your dad will force him to watch the boxing day cricket match tomorrow because Australia's playing England, so Remus must know a thing or two about cricket test matches.
"I told your mum I'd help her with the desserts," he leans over to kiss you on the cheek. His lips a burning heat over your already warm skin. It feels nice.
"Then you'll come for a swim?" you ask hopefully, lips pouting. You know he will, he'll do pretty much anything to make you happy. Sometimes you despise him for it in a totally loving girlfriend type of way. He's already in his swimming trunks. His legs looking fucking lovely.
He gets up from his seat at your outdoor table and it scrapes along your deck, "I'll be 20 minutes," he says with one more kiss. Quicker than the last but still as fond. You think maybe, even more, when he presses his fingers into your scorched skin.
You let him and your mum dish up trifles and a pavlova that always seems to be bigger than the year before. Remus says something really stupid and it makes your mum laugh. A full-on, hearty chuckle that is usually only produced at the cost of your own father. You smile all the way to your room.
Once in your swimmers, a set that you know Remus loves, modest enough in your own backyard, surrounded by your own family, but enough that you'll expect to be stuck to your boyfriend's side for the rest of the day. You walk back out to your backyard to find him in the middle of your lawn.
A cousin wrapped around his leg, another climbing their way up his torso. He's laughing, you're not sure how, because they both keep kneeing him in bruisable areas as they climb him like a jungle gym. Eventually, they pull him to the soft grass and it ends up in a sort of tickle-fight. It's more giggling than anything.
Your chest fills with as much warmth as you think it can allow without you feeling the urge to cry. Watching him get along with your family so well is more than you'd ever expected. He keeps surprising you and then he doesn't because he's Remus. Your boyfriend Remus, and he treats you with so much love and respect that you know that's just him. It's second nature to him and you'd expect nothing less for the people he knows you love also.
You know you're staring, you can't help it. Your cheeks ache with how wide you're smiling. Remus walks up to you once he's toddler free and pokes you in the cheek. You snap out of the little lovesick bubble you'd found yourself in.
"He's strong for four years old," Remus laughs, kissing you on the cheek again like he can't help it. You know he can't because you kiss him just as often.
"My aunty thinks he'll be good at rugby," you giggle.
"Or wrestling."
You lean in to wrap your arms around his waist, he doesn't let you. You startle, confused.
"I've never seen this before," Remus can be smug when he wants to be, sliding a finger under the strap of your swimmers, snapping the tight material against your skin.
"Yes, you have." You go too shy under his loving gaze. His eyes droopy but still full of mirth. You can feel a heat eat its way up your chest. If he makes fun of you for it, you'll be sure to blame it on the sun.
"Right," he runs the material between his fingers, distracted.
"Remus, stop it," you mumble. Completely melted.
"Stop what?" Still smug.
"Just take your shirt off, please. I wanna go for a swim."
Remus doesn't have to be asked twice. He takes his white button-up off, a gift from your family, and you try to ignore the feeling you suddenly have to stare more than would be acceptable in your setting. You also ignore the wolf whistle your uncle let's out.
Remus genuinely blushes.
"I think my family really likes you," you tell him, tracing a scar in the hinge of his elbow.
"I'm really happy they do," Remus pulls the hair tie from your wrist, moving to tie your back from your face. His fingers tickle your neck and you shiver despite the temperature. Remus grins. "I didn't just spend fifteen minutes decorating a Pavlov for no reason."
You snort. "Pavlova."
"Hmm?"
"It's a pavlova."
"Right..." he chuckles.
"Pavlov was the guy with the dog theory."
It's Remus's turn to snort. "Dog theory."
"Yeah."
He traces a knuckle down your cheek, "You're adorable."
"Stop it."
"Really."
"Remus..."
"That's why I'm really sorry." He says. Suddenly serious.
"For what?" you ask. Also suddenly just as confused as he is stern.
He doesn't respond.
"For what, Remus?"
The squeal you let out when Remus throws you over his shoulder is loud and pretty, in his own opinion. That's why he has no problems when you tug at his hair to stable yourself. You're suddenly dizzy, blood rushing to your head. Remus feels worse when you giggle in his ear.
"Remus!" Your protests are broken up by peels of laughter.
"I said I'm sorry!" he laughs.
"Don't! I'm serious."
He jumps in the pool, pulling you under with him and you both come up, smiling like idiots. Your family roars with adored laughter and your smile widens.
You swim towards him where he's standing just before the deep end. His laughter dies down as you pull him down so the water's up to his neck.
"I hate you."
Remus lets you wrap your legs around his waist. Content with holding you up. "No, you don't."
"We're breaking up."
Remus gasps, "Don't tell your dad."
"I think he'd die," you giggle.
"I think I would too."
You press your face into his wet chest, "Don't die."
"Never," he sighs. He has zero problems with kissing you over chlorine-soaked hair.
Christmas in the summer is better, Remus thinks. But only if he gets to spend it with you.

MY ROMAN EMPIRE!?! YOU WANT TO KNOW MY ROMAN EMPIRE!!!???
'Despite what he had said to Regulus, he wishes he had told Barty he loved him, even just once.'
' I'm really sorry we only got to love each other for three seconds'
“He didn't leave any note, me and- Me and Everly wrote it.”
'Perhaps it’s the sound of the knife clattering to the floor that finally makes her realise, that Evan is never going to reply again.'
'Eventually Barty learned to live again, he learned to go to class, learned to breath, learned to eat, drink, sleep, all of it; but he never learned how to love again.'

Keep Growing
Remus Lupin x fem!reader
cw: friendship breakup, anxiety, emotional/mental growing pains, Remus being a supportive bf (obvi)
You let the door fall closed behind you as you entered your apartment. You felt as though your skin had been crawling all day, and even the comforting, familiar smell of yours and Remus' shared space did little to comfort you.
You unceremoniously set your work stuff down on the bench in your entryway and made for your bedroom. You were glad in a way that Remus wasn't home yet - you felt that if you had to vocalize anything at the moment that the air would leave your body for good.
You got into the shower and let the day pass through your brain. You couldn't get your friends' - or, ex-friend you supposed - words out of your head.
"I don't even recognize you anymore." She spat. "Who are you?".
Who were you? Did you recognize yourself anymore? Who were you without your best friend of five years. You'd been through so much together; finishing high school and starting at University together, helping each other move out of dormitories and shared flats.
It started off mild - you stopped enjoying spending your evenings at clubs with her and her boyfriend's friends, preferring a quiet night in. Then it became that she didn't like that you started hanging out with your childhood friends again. Then you started to notice the difference between how Remus and his/your friends spoke to you versus the way she and her boyfriend/friends spoke to you.
You thought it would be helpful to talk about it with her instead of letting it fester.
How wrong you'd been.
And now, you were best friendless. Now, you had to figure out who you were outside of that relationship.
How would that impact the rest of your life? The rest of your relationships? Where did you go from here?
You sat staring at your reflection in the vanity mirror, towel in your hair and another wrapped around your torso when you heard the front door open again. You recognized that a part of your body seemed to relax knowing that Remus was home, but tears welled in your eyes immediately realizing that you've done nothing but sit here and feel sorry for yourself.
"Hey Dove." He called from the hallway, still shedding his outer-layers off.
"Hey." You tried to call back happily, but your voice cracked. You cleared your throat and tried again.
"I'm sorry, I haven't started on supper or anything, but now you get to have a say in what we have tonight." You settled for as you pulled on your comfies.
Remus rounded the corner of your room and offered you a crooked smile as he leaned against the doorframe.
"How was your day, love?" He asks quietly.
"Fine, thank you. How was yours?" You asked as you kissed his cheek and headed for the kitchen, aiming for nonchalance.
"Dreadful." He says as he followed you.
"Awe, why?" You ask sympathetically, but he only chuckled at you.
"It was far too long spent without you, of course."
"Of course." You repeat with a soft smile.
You opened the pantry door and stared blankly. Nothing looked right, nothing felt right. What were you even doing? What were you looking for? Do you even have groceries? What things do you like to eat?
"Dove?"
You turned to look at your boyfriend who was watching you with cautious eyes.
"Hm? Sorry." You managed, looking away from him and back at the pantry when your sinuses started to sting.
"I can hear that beautiful brain of yours whirring. What's going on, my love?" He asked gently as he wrapped his arms around your middle and rested his head on top of yours.
"I don't know." You whispered, feeling a tear trail a wet path down your cheek.
"You don't know what's wrong?" He asked.
"No. I don't know anything." You huffed, sounding slightly more agitated then you had meant to. "I don't know. I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know where to go, I don't know who I am. I don't know anything, I - I can't, I just."
Remus spun you and his hands landed gently on either side of your face as he told you to breathe.
"You're alright, my love, just keep breathing for me, okay? We can figure it out together."
"I just-" you tried again. "I feel so lost, like, I actually feel crazy - out of my mind I don't know."
Remus made a sympathetic sound as he rubbed tears from under your eyes with his thumbs. "A lot has been changing recently, hm?"
"Yes." You muttered pathetically.
"I know it doesn't feel good now, but you know that change is okay, right? You're allowed to change."
His sentence stopped you short. You didn't want to change, you wanted to be okay.
"It doesn't feel good now," he repeated, as if sensing where your mind had gone, "but sometimes changing and growing feels uncomfortable. You're gonna be okay."
You stood in his embrace for a few moments, letting his words wash over you.
"But, but what if I change so much that you don't know who I am anymore?" You whispered, finally realizing where this anxiety was coming from.
Your best friend, the person who had supposedly been there for you through thick and thin had left because you had supposedly changed. What if Remus felt the same? What if everyone decided that this new you wasn't worth it.
"Oh, my love." He cooed and began peppering your face with kisses. "Please do not worry about that."
You moaned miserably.
"Love," He said more seriously, turning your face gently to force you to look at him. "Grow as you please; if I get the privilege of getting to know you all over again, I'll do that."
An embarrassing laugh sob came out of you as you flung yourself into your boyfriends chest, still adorned with his button up from work.
It felt uncomfortable now, but you knew that Remus was right. And whichever way you grew, he’d be by your side.

“Did… I interrupt something?” “No!” Remus squeaked, knowing what Sirius meant. “Yes!” Lily snapped at the same time, not realizing. Sirius raised his eyebrows, looking between them. “Oh. Er—“ “No, no,” Remus said, knowing he was going red. “Not—I mean—yes—but—“ “I’ll just—“ “Not like that!” he managed to get out as Sirius stood up. “Lily’s… upset about something, that’s all.” “What else would it be?” Lily growled and both boys gave her a look. She folded her arms, glaring at Sirius. “Did you think we were snogging or something?!” Sirius rubbed the back of his head, taking a step back and nearly tripping over the curtain. “No! No, of course not—well—yes, a bit. I mean. You’re, erm, in a bit of a—well—ahhh—haha, I’ll just go. I didn’t mean to—er—right. Bye.”

HELP?
i have a series that i've been planning on and off for the past year or so and i've finally got the first chapter written. being my perfectionist self, i feel as though i need to keep planning some more things but there's a part of me that really wants to just get started and, sort of, force myself to begin or else i'll never get the series written since there isn't that sense of urgency or encouragement to keep going when i have other things to do
the series is called: Divorcing Orion Black
it'll be my take on a Harry Potter fix-it-fic set in the marauder's era where reader is transferred into the Harry Potter universe and forced to replace Walburga Black, her main aim is to give sirius and regulus a better life by being a better mother than Walburga ever was. But, it's never easy considering the limited knowledge people have on the marauders era and because... the true Walburga never really...left?
the focus will be on platonic relationships as well as all the comfort and fluff in the world considering how dark and sad and angsty the marauders era characters' destiny ended up being
potential series summary : You just got transferred into the world of Harry Potter and you've been put into the shoes of Walburga Black. Splendid… You need to escape this toxic family so your first order of business is divorce AND YOU'RE DEFINITELY TAKING THE KIDS!
tags : son sirius black/mother reader ; son regulus black/mother reader ; isekai au/transfering worlds au ; walburga black is evil ; not reader though hehe~ ; hurt/comfort ; fluff ; platonic fluff ; second chances ; reader basically adopts remus, barty crouch jr and peter pettigrew ; peter pettigrew redemption arc? ; but he never betrays the marauders in the first place so... ; remus gets a better life ; reader becomes a semi-political figure to help werewolves + house elves ; reader assumes a male alias ; alternating chapters from different povs directly effected by reader's actions ; reader is a powerful independent business woman and single mother ; reader is a milf ; reader secretly hates dumbledore ; reader hates orion black ; reader hates JKR (we all do) ; divorce ; mentions of child abuse (physical and mental and emotional) ; mentions of neglect ; angry reader ; canon jily ; mentions of wolfstar ; regulus being a precious baby ; sirius has his moments too ; reader being a powerful trio with minerva and pomfrey ; reader potentially adopting the black sisters (bellatrix, andromeda and narcissa) ; reader adopts everyone! ; there'll be ocs ; reader leaves to live her dream cottagecore life ; happy ending! ; i'll add more tags in the future
fair warning ; this series is not gonna be canon compliant, naturally, reader will make sure of that haha!
i predict that the series will be around 25 to 30 chapters long? maybe more?
if i post the series now, i'll aim to post a new chapter per month, on the first day of every month
if i post the series next year/2026, i'll try to make sure i'm able to post twice per month (one chapter per two weeks)

sirius black—tell your heart to mend.
summary: sirius relies on you, even if he can’t always see where you’re going.
word count: 0.6k
fanfic no. 006
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
walking towards the small park opposite the row of houses at claremont square, you peered through the fence bars. there was a hunched figure sat on the edge of the fountain, their elbows on their knees and hair falling over their face.
hastening your steps towards the gate inside, you gripped your bag closer to your side.
"hey," you announced yourself, walking up to the figure by the fountain.
"hello darling," sirius replied, standing up with a sigh. he pulled you in close, tucking your head under his chin and inhaling your familiar scent.
"i can't breathe," your voice was muffled against his body.
sirius laughed, releasing you from his grip and reached for your hand in replacement for your embrace as he began to walk through the small park. he was silent for a long time, his breaths coming out in white puffs against the cool air, but the silence wasn't uncomfortable. the two of you were so honest with each other that you knew it was only a matter of time before he told you the real reason for his late night call—the one that nearly woke your parents from their slumber and forced you down the stairs just to stop the ringing.
how you wished your parents would allow a landline in your room.
"it's regulus," sirius said finally. "something's going on," he hesitated.
"if you're not ready, that's okay," you assured him, stopping him from walking further.
sirius seemed conflicted, fighting a war within himself as well as the one at his home. he pinched the bridge of his nose, turned to keep walking but turned back almost the second after he made the decision, and threw his arms up.
but before he could speak, or shout, you cut in. "i wanna show you something!"
sirius looked agitated as he spoke. "what?"
"come on," you encouraged him, grasping his hand and pulling him back to the fountain.
sirius almost put up a fight, but allowed himself to follow you without complaint. he even watched you climb onto the fountain's edge and step in without a word, until you scooped up a handful of water and threw it into the air, some of it reaching sirius despite his urgent steps backwards.
"what are you doing?!"
"get in!" you waved him over.
"no! it's cold enough, you're off on one!"
"sirius black, get in the water right now!" you ordered.
without another objection, sirius climbed over the fountain and cautiously dipped his feet into the water, shivering as water soaked his jeans and rained from above. "what am in here for?"
"to dance with me!" you laughed.
before sirius could say anything, you seized his hand and twirled yourself under his arm. your laughter and unbridled joy was contagious, and sirius found himself softening. he watched as the water twinkled in the moonlight as it surrounded you in a sort of freefall, the way it clung to the warmth of your skin.
he twirled you again and pulled you in close, pressing the side of his head against yours as you rested on his shoulder. swaying from side to side in a public fountain as you got drenched on a winter night was the last thing he expected to come out of the phone call he made to you, but he knew he would treasure this unexpected moment for as long as he was gifted the privilege of memory.
you were wholly unpredictable. and he thought unpredictability could only be harmful. between his family and the upcoming war, the unexpected seemed to haunt him. but you taught him to see both sides of every story.
"i love you," sirius whispered.
you looked up from his shoulder, taking in his cheerful grin, his wet hair and face, water droplets dripping down his cheeks—he was ethereal. he was yours. you cupped his cheeks and pulled him down to meet your lips.
"i love you too."
